The Terran Coalition stares into the abyss. Just as Captain Jackson Adams makes headway on the home front, Coalition President Justin Spencer is summoned before Congress to answer for the traitor discovered in his administration—then falls to an assassin’s bullet, throwing the Coalition into chaos with one terrifying realization. The League of Sol will never accept defeat. As evidence for the hit points to his old nemesis, Jackson anxiously awaits the call of duty. Instead Covert Action Unit 171 is sidelined for fear he might once again go rogue and endanger his team on a quest for vengeance. But remaining home serves only to further the enemy’s plan. When it’s revealed Jackson and every member of his team were exposed by the traitor, the fallout threatens a bloodbath across the Coalition. Now the battle to find the assassin is a race to the rescue. As the hunters become the hunted in this epic series finale.
This review is a repeat since what I have said about the last book is as true for this one. Another enjoyable, fast-paced read from these authors. With each novel in this series, the depth of the characters has been developed more giving me the feeling I know them personally. I have appreciated the way military action is combined with science fiction and politics without sacrificing a well written plot line.
I am amazed at how so much of the novel reads as politically realistic today (of course without the science fiction elements). I recommend the series to anyone who enjoys a good story, well-developed characters, and galactic intrigue.
Jackson’s team is under attack. they have been followed by the rogue leager.
Jackson’s team was at work when his old league enemy found the background info for team 171. This meant that when the leager was beat once again by Jackson Adam’s team he went as far under as he could. The reason, to infiltrate the coalition and do as much damage as the killer team he put together could do. And most especially go after team 171 and kill them.
Rogue ESS agent Vasily Kiel has amassed a small army of mercenaries along with 4 modified freighters (weaponized and stealthed) and a vast array of weapons. His goal is to destabilize the Terran Coalition by killing its President and each member of Unit 171, especially Jackson Adams. Start this novel when you have plenty of time to read, because you won't want to put it down.
Jackson Adam's and his crew are back into the fray! Mortal enemies threaten him along with his family & crew. His family are drawn into the fray with him this time and help pull him thru. Another great read from Daniel & Steve! Way to go guys Gods speed in keeping up the good work!
All of the thrills and action of the Bourne Identity movie trilogy, crossed with the show Burn Notice - I can only say that there have to be better ways to show family what CAU 171 does for a living. There was nothing peaceful about this story except for the way that the family relationships got ironed out and healed. I just would have preferred that that happen without being under fire around the homestead. Such a FUBAR!
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that he never stops writing. His books are some of the Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
The final instalment which lives up to expectations, full of action and very good storyline, which leaves the door open for more is there ????. Characters very strong and work well with the story. Hopefully not the last
Brilliant and thanks for an epic read of the trials and tribulations of covert operations 171&22 and the Oxford and the Touscon I would love a skimmer to use
