Darkness has come to Dominion but is Amira truly to blame?

Accused by the Queen of Dominion of bringing Darkness to the world, Amira and her men must go on a quest to destroy three unholy objects in order to stop the darkness before it fully engulfs the world. Along the way danger abounds as these unholy objects are more dangerous than they seem, possessing dark magics powerful enough to kill anyone who dare come looking for them.

Like Amira didn’t have enough on her hands, Ragnaron has joined their quest, sparking fierce conflict and competition with the Blood Moon Alphas as every wolf wants Amira for himself.

Alpha Logan has far from given up his plans of reclaiming Amira as his. And as usual, he’s not averse to using dirty tricks to do it.

Can Amira and the gang destroy the unholy objects before darkness swallows the world whole? Can Ragnaron and the Blood Moon Alphas finally make peace so they can live happily with Amira instead of competing over her? Or will Alpha Logan reclaim Amira, dooming her to a life without the men she has come to hold dear?

If you like steamy, dark paranormal romances with humor, crazy twists, action, a tough, sassy heroine and handsome anti-heros who will go to any length for their woman, this is for you! This is a fated mate / rejected mate romance.

Scroll up and one click while it’s still hot!

The Blood Moon shifters series happens ten years after the events of the Poison Penitentiary series. But BOTH series can be read COMPLETELY independent of each other.

Wolf Burned is the third book in the Blood Moon Shifters series by Taylor Spratt. This book finds Amria as she is accused of practicing dark magic and therefore bringing a curse on Dominion. There is a ridiculous trial, familiar faces, an evil treasure hunt, and a scheming idiot of an alpha. Amaria has to face a lot but the darkness is everywhere good thing she has three alphas and a lovable beta by her side.

In this book, Amria has reached the epitome of self-confidence. No longer is she the timid little wolf from the hole but a confident beta who more than once whipped her men into shape. The guys are there for Amria through the entire journey and while they still have issues with each other Amria's happiness comes first. All the guys except for Miles have aspects of them that I just don't like but they are tolerable. The only one I've fallen for is Miles and that still hasn't changed he's adorable.

There were a few things that didn't mesh well with me. First Jessica, Alexandros, and the gang from the Poison Penitentiary series are back (same world) but they aren't the same people I got to know, they have changed, and not for the better. The change seems weird and doesn't fit, and there is no explanation for it. Then there's Logan, who is an idiot but manages to get stuff done, plus how does he have the information he does? Finally, there were the moments where Amria seem to be playing games with the guys and not in a good way. Not to mention that some scenes ran a little long without needing to.

Barring all of that, the story has an interesting premise. A quest to find magical objects, the world is at stake. The introduction of new magical creatures, seeing more of Dominion, and more uses of magic were great. I loved seeing Amria tapping into her witch side more in this book.

Burned Wolf was a light read with no real angst but had an interesting plot. With a few tweaks, the book could be even better. The story ended on a cliffhanger and will continue in Wolf Freed.

When I read the book I had a nostalgic feeling, like the first time I watched The hobbit trilogy something like that stays with you forever. You never forget the feels and the fact that it seems like you are taking the journey with them, fighting the foes with them celebrating losses with them and ofcourse cry over the losses with them too and that is exactly what this book is all about. Amira and her men go through the most, deal with the most but what touched me was how they always seemed to be around her, protecting her, looking out for her... I cry towards the end when that horrible loss occurred and I hope our girl will be able to fight back. Ooh did I mention that there are unicorns in this story I love unicorns .

This is a great read .

The world is suddenly plunged into darkness, the kind of Darkness that is so pitch black, one can't see even the tiniest detail. This is how this book begins, straight where the previous one left off. With the curse finally lifted by Amira, everything should be hunky dory, right! Wrong! The darkness is slowly sucking the life out of everything and it's up to Amira to stop it but the path is fraught with danger, which is compounded by none other than the despicable Logan, her true mate whom she avoids like the plague but he's there, lurking, looking for his chance to take her and causes havoc whenever he shows up. Thank goodness for the guys! They will do anything and everything to protect Amira and they do. The rivalry between Sirus, Miles and Callum, jealously vying for Akira's affection, is so funny! Like schoolboy rivalry, you know the kind, typical male jousting I was thrilled to see Ragnaron back, he's so yummy and sweet and kind. This book was definitely more tongue in cheek than the previous ones, lots of banter between the guys, fun insertions along the way, like a patent pending broom that allows anyone to fly. There's plenty of action and magic and demons and vampires.... And there's the added bonus of Jessica and Alexandros as well as her consorts, so great they show up. I love how Amira has grown throughout the series, from a frightened underground dweller, to a fierce, competent Beta. There are lots of steamy hot scenes while the guys vie to be top dog, or should I rather say, top wolf! A fun, steamy, interspersed with real drama. Great continuation to the series

The third installment of the Blood Moon Shifters series starts where the last book leaves us - which is Dominion being thrown into darkness after a sweltering hot moment between Amira and her 3 wolf men. The gang of wolves soon after find themselves being seized and taken to the King and Queen as Amira is being put on trial for her actions of being the catalyst for the sudden darkness across the land. Another witch emerges in the throne room and tells the King and Queen that the only hope for Dominion is the very person they have on trial before them. Amira and her harem of men are tasked with a quest to bring down the darkness that has fallen and if she is to fail they are all doomed. Through many trials and plot twists our harem of men aid Amira in trying to save all of Dominion from the darkness. Will Amira and her men be able to save the land that has been plunged into darkness? - Will everyone survive and have their sanity intact at the conclusion of the story? - Spratt leaves the reader on a cliffhanger but the journey is worth the ride.

[Personal Thoughts] I very much enjoyed this installment once it got going. But oh my goodness, those damned fever crystals in the cave! The spice was very well done in my opinion - it added a nice break from all the action of what was going on plot wise, but also helped enhance the plot and the characters. – I cannot wait for the next book, I need to know what happens next after this double-edged cliffhanger that we were left with.

Great book to get hooked on

Actual rating 4.5

Ok this is progressing amazingly and I’m loving the direction it’s going.

I love these characters. Their dynamic and chemistry fascinates me. They just work so well but also blend which is amazing. Each stand out and have their own thing going but as a group it morphs again and it’s just.awesome to see.

I didn’t expect the story to go where it did which I love. I’m loving the adventure the character are taking us on but also just the original depiction on wolves as a whole. I have been fascinated this entire series and learning something new each book is amazing. I hope we get to see more but I’m also curious to see how this world or characters would blend or mix with prison penitentiary. This series gives me a lot of those vibe and I love that series.

It’s great seeing Taylor’s writing grow. I’ve been following her since her first book and she has come so far with her books. The story is original, has amazing characters and a plot to truly sink into. This has been an amazing ride and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the conclusion.

Holy Blood Moon! Let me just say that the third book in Taylor Spratt’s Blood Moon Shifters series, A Wolf Burned, did NOT disappoint! Spratt definitely knows how to deliver a hot and steamy chemistry filled rejected mates romance story with tons of action and suspense that’s for sure! This series is like a fine wine…it just keeps getting better and better and better!

This story continues where the second one left off with Amira and her guys being left in total darkness after that hot as hell ending in book 2 and just continues with the intense steam and intriguing mystery from then on out. It seems like for every mystery solved or adventure they take, there’s always just one more thing awaiting the group on the horizon. The question is, are they strong enough to survive what’s coming their way?!? And will Logan ever get what’s coming his way or will Amira have to pay for his actions?

I love how Amira never backs down from a challenge, and how the Blood Moon alphas and Ragnaron are always there by her side, supporting her on her journey. This story was filled with so much character growth and development, as individuals and as a group, I loved how the story evolved. And of course all the hot sexy scenes to keep you gasping for more didn’t hurt either. ;)

And while I know that some didn’t agree with the return of some of our previous beloved characters from the Poison Penitentiary series, (Jessica, her consorts and Alexandros) and how she acted…I personally loved it! I love good plot twists and the fact that we’re presented with another side of the Queen only leads me to believe there’s more to her story and that a lot has happened since we last saw her and her men and I can’t wait to find out more!!! And that amazing cliffhanger of an ending? Let’s just say Book 4 can't come soon enough!!! Well done Taylor, well done!!!

Amira is back in book three, and is in trouble. Accussed of practicing dark magic and cursing Dominion, she's in for a rough ride throughout this book.

Amira has been a strong character since the beginning and has only grown as the series progresses. I loved seeing her grow in her confidence and finally see the value in herself. I have fallen head over heels for Miles's character and would be happy with just him as the love interest.

There were characters from Posion Penitentiary series that are brought back, but I don't believe they worked as well as they should have in this book. I also wasn't a big fan of the way Amira acted at times and it felt like she was using the guys for her own gain or messing with them and it just didn't work for the story.

This book, is pack full of action, drama, and lots and lots of steam! The smexy scenes were out of this world hot. The trial was such BS and I have a strong dislike for the bloodsuckers. Watching Amira become a BA beta, was phenomenal. I loved the way she and all her guys grew together. Logan is still a huge pain in the behind. Now let’s talk cliffhangers, this one was steeep,

The author continues to weave an addicting tale and I have been enjoying every minute of it. The story and characters have become more complex and have grown as the story has progressed.

I think my favorite part of these books is how the FMC has grown into herself and seeing her relationships change with those around her. I cannot wait to see the rest of their story unfolds.

In A Wolf Burned we find Amira and her mates (well most of her mates, but not the most important one) ready to face off with what is causing the darkness that has suddenly spread over their land.

Currently 1/3 of the way through the book and seems like the darkness is killing animals/crops and possibly making everyone act out of character because EVERYONE is annoying right now. So far so good, but I'm ready for the action to pick up.

Ok I have finished and oh did the action pick up. Lots of action both on and off of the battlefield and this book did not disappoint. Ready for what looks like the finale of the series and an epic showdown.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

Okay so now that the whole gang is back together I (as the president, vp, and treasurer of Team Ragnaron) can list all of the reasons why he was always the top mate:
#1 he NEVER lied and deceived Amira.
#2 He always defended Amira - while the other three were content with letting their pack treat Amira like the tissue they wiped their bottom with Ragnaron was quick to put those females in their place that tried to make Amira feel inferior.
#3 Yeah he kidnapped her like the rest, but at least he made the effort to woo her by seeking advice and taking her out and helping her experience the world instead of locking her up in a cabin like just being there and looking handsome was good enough.
#4 He is mature - somebody had to be for me to keep my sanity lol
#5 He seemed to care more about what she wanted and keeping her happy instead of feeling the need to make all of her decisions for her.
#6 I could list a ton more, but everyone seems to use 5 so I'll end it there.

****If you have not read Poison Penitentiary series (which I surprisingly enjoyed more than this series and I was hooked on this one from book one) please do so before finishing this series because I feel like if I hadn't this book would have tainted those characters for me.****

This series is getting even more exciting! Storyline wise, this book was my favorite with the quests to search for the chalices that imprisoned the demons that were going to allow darkness to take over Dominion. If you read Spratt's Poison Penitentiary series, you'll notice that the main character in that book, Jessica, also had to go on a search for some items in order to make her grand escape. Although similar, I felt that the tasks in this current book seemed more thought out and exciting than in Jessica's story. Each chalice location and demon ability was very creative and intriguing, really making me look forward to the next one when it was found. This also allowed Amira to use her light magic more and understand what she was truly capable of after just coming into her magic.
Even though I absolutely loved the plot line in this third book, the one thing that I had a hard time clicking with was the characters. I've found that these characters, although Alphas or in a place of power in their pack, are all pretty immature, having a lot of responses to things like a teenager would instead of a full grown adult in charge of an entire group of people. I was ok with this in the past couple of books as the main problem of the curse on the shifters wasn't as pressing as the current darkness issue in this book and there was room for flexibility in the character growth. However, even with a more strict deadline with the darkness, Amira and the guys still weren't as serious as I would have liked and were always bickering or competing with one another. It was a bit aggravating at times, so I'm hoping to see a bit of a change in this group, including Amira, as the darkness and demon situation becomes even more dire in the fourth book. I can't wait to see what Spratt comes up with to bring this series to a close.

This book is essentially like Harry Potter and his attempt to destroy horcruxes to defeat the bad guy, but make it shifters and demons instead. (Yet, somehow, this quest seems even more deadly and daunting than the Harry Potter ones which is definitely no small feat to accomplish.)

We have all the same players as the previous books:
- Miles who will have you swooning and generally being swept off your feet from the absolute green flag explosion of a man that he is
- Ragnaron who we absolutely adore and continues to show how much he loves and cares for Amira as a person and wolf, not just for her powers
- Syrus who is still hilarious, super flirty and the most jealous when Amira gives other people attention
- The complex and addictive Callum who has so much depth which we see more and more of in the books and we are so here for him and Amira
- Amira makes way better decisions in this book (thank goodness, the last book was painful to get through her awful decision making skills) and her relationships with the guys deepen, her power and confidence grow and she comes into her own a lot in this book.

Things are looking real bleak by the end of this and I didn’t think it was possible to dislike alpha Logan more than I already did, but he sure does beat the odds and make the impossible, possible. He is the worst kind of person and the extreme jealousy he displays is so not cute and cringe it’s actually insane.

We get a fair bit of plot advancement here and there’s a solid amount of spice, but it never takes away from the plot.

The positives: The plot was good. I love where Spratt is taking this world and the overall plot that drives the characters. The worldbuilding is pretty good as well with the dynamics between the shifters and vamps and the rest.
The steamy scenes were pretty steamy if that's what you're looking to get from this book. 5 stars/5 stars for those.

The downsides: The characters. I don't like them. They seem inconsistent from one book to the next and one chapter to the next. The things they do seem only to get to the next steamy scene and forget that the world is ending (or they're in an open dungeon waiting trial - and like why are they even together and not separated???). Amira, despite her inner monologue stating she's this powerful beta now, seems more insecure and wishy-washy than ever and I hate that for her. I think it's because in book 2 she randomly became this mega powerful Beta who beat a shifter who had been training for decades for the role. Whatever. Honestly the only character who ever seems "in character" is Logan. And I hate him (obviously).

The hopeful: If you want a book for steam, this is good. It really is. If you can overlook the inconsistent character development, the plot is good.

Taylor has written a fast paced, dramatic, heart racing continuation in Amiras story. So many different elements are being pulled together as the darkness threatens Dominion with annihilation.

Amira funds herself in a truly difficult situation being blamed for everything that has happened in Dominion. I love the depth of emotions that she battles with whilst being given with an impossible task. The development in her relationship with the Blood Moon Alphas and Raggy pulls at your heart strings as everything she holds dear is tried and tested.

Miles, Sirus and Callum are tested as much as Amira is through this book. Not just their relationship with Amira but their faith in themselves is all put to the test under the worst circumstances imaginable.
Ragnaron is just brilliant in this book, he's there for his red wolf to support her and protect her anyway he can.

This book is full on action and steam, the curse on Amira is real yet her guys still fight by her side. Everything is staked against them, every step forward is met by ten backwards and things only get worse.

The question is how will they complete their mission?

A Wolf Burned

What just happened??? This book has MORE! More action, more interaction between characters, so much growth and plenty of sexy times.

Welcome back to Amira’s world, where things are always changing. Amira’s fated mate rejected her previously, and now that she has found herself others to love and support her he wants her and will stop at nothing to have her.

But not only has he decided he will do anything to stop her happiness in its tracks, he has become part of a bigger plot to begin Armageddon.

If you enjoy strong FMC’s, a strong group of Alpha males who will do anything to protect the woman that they’re in love with, then hurry and one click this book right now!!!!

Jump into the fantastic world of Taylor Spratt and her addictive journey that keeps the reader enthralled and entertained until you turn the last page!!!

fantastic

Absolutely loved this book, it completely blew away all my expectations- it’s such a great edition to this series.
The storyline is well thought out and full of twists, suspense and action. We see other character’s from this Author’s books pop up in this book - which I loved.
I was completely sucked into this book and struggled to put it down.
Amira really steps up and leads her men on a epic quest to save the dominion from permanent darkness. The journey is honestly fantastic and so very detailed. I just love the action scenes and the creativity in choices of the enemy they are forced to battle.
Logan and his judgemental Betas show up. Personally if there was ever a character I’d want to throat punch this guy will definitely be the first on the list.
The ending had my jaw dropping, wow! Can’t wait for the finale - I just know I’ll be blown away.

This book did NOT go the direction I anticipated it going at all, which was super refreshing! We've seen some new characters enter the mix and I'm not entirely sure of their intentions. We see our core group of MCs devise a plan to defeat the darkness. We also watch the dynamics of our MC group change as we finally have everybody under one roof (and in one car). I am also interested to see where we go with our FMCs relationship to her rejected mate. Honestly I'm not convinced that we know for certain! Watch out for a little cliffy at the end! There's one more book to go and I just want to know:
Is it possible our wonderful MCs are going to finally get along? Will darkness be defeated? Will Logan finally take a flying leap into oncoming traffic? Tune in for the next one, folks! I'm on the edge of my seat.

The third installment!!
Amira has been accused of doing black magic and releasing a curse. She manages to convince the queen (who is from the poison pen series, I haven't read that series yet so I don't have the same thinking other might have had when seeing her in wolf burned, but I am excited to catch up on her story) back to our sheep... Amira needs to destroy three artifacts to save dominion but things are never that easy.
Logan is still trying to get her back, someone don't seem to know how to give up
Ragnaron, Calum, Miles and Sylas have to start learning how to work together for Amira but it isn't an easy feed and it had me wondering if they woild be friendly before the end of the series.

The series is reaching its highest twist, and all I need is for the harem to be happy, the curse reversed, Logan unalived, seem easy right?

The story and world building in this series is great. Amira is a complex heroine and I'm not that huge a fan of her to be honest, she seems to flip flop between being strong and confident (which I like) to switching to an almost comatose depression every time something doesn't go her way (which is fine when it's her Fated mate that she hates, but her body responds to, but not every time something goes wrong.) The four men in Amira's life are OK, they all have their good moments, but they also all have moments where they act like children, which I find frustrating to read. However, I never once stopped reading this book because of these little niggly facts, because I just want to know what happens next! Anyway, great book, my whinges are tiny!

This is the third book in this series and I love that it picks up where the last one left off. Amira can’t stay out of trouble for nothing! She is being accused of casting dark magic and her and her men have to take on the task of trying to fix the darkness. While they are traveling, Logan keeps showing up and seems to always be a few steps ahead. Amira is having trouble saying no to him and I have to quit screaming at my e-reader! There are some extra hot moments between her and her men that completely made me forget all my problems too. This was a fun and quick read and I recommend it for sure!

Book 3 in the series is as amazing as book 1 & 2 have been. When the darkness hit Amira and they guys are confused and worried shifting into wolf form they run back to the pack only to find out the pack is having a party because the blood moon curse has been lifted and people can shift and not go feral anymore. But this has some consequences the pack is no longer listening to the alphas or Amira who became beta at the end of book 2. Amira and the gang face a difficult journey ahead with her mate trying to stop them completing the tasks. As she carries on with the tasks she hits a lot of road blocks. I would be saying more but to me anymore and it would just spoil this fantastic book

Another excellent installment in the Blood Moon Shifters series by Taylor Spratt. This book picked up right where book two left us hanging….Dominion in total darkness BUT Amira was able to release the curse on the Blood Moon pack. Now Amira is trying to prove she did not practice dark magic. I really liked Amira and her growth in book two, but I feel like she regressed in this book and her depressive thoughts at every sign of problems was frustrating to say the least. I still really enjoyed the book and the cliffhanger is brutal on this one! I’m excited for the final installment in the series to see how everything plays out!

This was a fab continuation of the series and it really went in a different direction than I expected; which is fab! The plot and characters have become more complex as the story has progressed. I think my favourite part of these books is how much Amira has grown and watching her relationships change with everyone around her. Expect a wild reading ride filled with drama, danger and steam as they work toward the next book. And, yes, there's another cliffy, so prepare yourself. Lol! Upside is that this series is complete so no waiting to dive into the next book to see how the rest of their story unfolds. Good fun!
