Whew. The idea for this story was good, but the execution was not. There were so many problems it just wasn’t enjoyable. I really like the nanny trope too.

1st a ten year old sneaking out to drink at parties across town? That’s a little mature for a 1 year old.

2nd the title said “Uptight Single Daddy: An Age Play, DDlg, Instalove, Standalone, Romance (Single Daddy's Club Book 1)”. THERE WAS BO AGE PLAY OR DD/lg relationship at all. Yes the MMC was a dad and he had a little girl but that’s not DD/lg.

3) formatting and editing was non-existent. And while I usually note mistakes while I read and move on, there were so many here that it was distracting.

4) the actual relationship wasn’t developed much. I know this was a 50-ish page novella, but there still needs to be some development.

I’m so bummed because this could have been great.

This was a heartfelt story and I thought that the premise was good but there were a few issues that made it hard to believe. First for the record I have no problems with the nanny trope or single dad trope when they get the details right I really enjoy them. The fact that his daughter is only 10yrs old sneaking out to party and she gets caught with alcohol. Who leaves a 10yr old home alone anyway? Also the father Justin seems to be angry quite a bit they also don't mention who was helping with Sara before Lucy someone had to be right? These inconsistencies as well as the daughter's age kept me from enjoying this story as much as I normally would. Feel free to check it out for yourself and make up your own mind about this book.

I really enjoy the nanny trope and this had a lot of promise but there are holes that you need to overlook. There is no mention of who has been helping Justin watch Sarah, now 10, as she was growing up. If he was doing it all on his own, I would hope that he would have a better relationship with his daughter. Lucy is a great character and I liked her. I would have liked more scenes between Lucy and Sarah and Lucy and Justin. Justin seemed to get angry a lot and there was every little build up to his romance with Lucy. The conflict at the end was a little unbelievable but ok, I can go with it. Not bad overall but a few more character interactions would have made it better for me.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. The story is about a widowed father and his nanny. Justin luckily finds Lucy for help for his young daughter. She is amazing but changes up everything in his life. While dealing with the struggle of raising a child these two fall for each other. He tries to make himself better for her and his daughter. I had mixed feelings with this book. Parts of the storyline fell right into place and flowed well. There were times though that it does not seem to meld together well. It had me pausing to wonder about a few things. It is short with a lot in a few pages.

Lucy starts to nanny for a ten year old Sarah, after she and her father Justin lost her mother in a car accident ten years ago. Sarah is growing up and making it difficult for Justin to keep on top of things, like her sneaking out. The three form a bond and then things get intimate between Lucy and Justin. It all stops when Lucy sneaks out one more time and is found in a dangerous position.
The characters are well developed, and have great dialogue about some issues kids face. The storyline is a roller coaster of feelings and memories. Loved their chemistry and that Sarah plays the matchmaker. Terrific ending.

Justin seemed as if he was an "angry" daddy. His daughter is 10 and I understand that there should be rules but why didn't he have someone before Lucy watching Sarah? Lucy was a great nanny. Caring, loving and positive. I didn't like Justin's reaction to Lucy when he found his 10 year old at the party. I thought it was over the top. I understand his issue but he took it out on the wrong person. This is the first book I've read by this author.

This was quite a cute romance. I felt for Justin taking care of a pre-teen and I adore Lucy as she is such a sweetheart. Lucy and Justin had great chemistry together and I really liked the “family” vibes of this story. I thought it was cute, sweet and enjoyable to read. Contrary to the title above, this is not a DDlg romance, but about a single father.

This was a good name since Justin has a lot of rules for his daughter but when he gets a nanny , she only has two. So he tries it her way and sees how his daughter and the nanny get along but when she gets caught doing one of the rules the nanny gets fired and another one takes her place but he was seeing her so can these two make their relationship work when he didn’t listen and blamed her

J.B. Rose has wrote a very heartfelt story. I love the storyline between father and daughter. When Lucy comes into their lives, she changes everything for the better. It was a hard lesson for Justin to learn how to change but Lucy helps in more ways then one. If you love a single dad story with a HEA then you will love this book.

Justin is a single dad who was struggling with his 10 year daughter. Lucy was sent over as a nanny to help out. This is a trope that I really enjoy and this book fit the bill. There were some inconsistencies in the story that were distracting from the story line. I would read more from this author.

Love it

This book is very sweet and every parents go thru and worried about dealing with kids until Justin hired a nanny name Lucy and he open his eyes how to calm down and try to communicate with his daughter. But he started to have feelings for the nanny Lucy. Will he cross over that line or back off. You gotta read it to find out what happen.

Just read this book, but to my surprise, found that it ended after only a few chapters. I don't understand why so many aithors are ending their books with a cliffhanger. Where's the loyalty to their readers? Not only will I never read another of her books, but I wil be telling everyone about her bait and switch tactics.

You know when you download something to read only to find out they only sent out the first two chapters and then you are stuck wondering because the book is only on Amazon and I read off Apple Books, ugh!

However, I must say that the first two chapters would make me by the book if it was on Apple Books. It immediately draws you in and you can’t wait to see how it ends.

So much potential...

This is a very quick read with very little character development. It was a good palate cleanser. Some grammatical errors. I think, had it been a full length novel, it would have been more satisfying.
