Horror thriller meets gothic fairy tale in N. A. Williams's introductory novel, plunging readers into a disturbing world where the occult, secrecy, and past misdeeds collide.

The past is calling, and the hunt is on, in Run Rabbit Run!

Born into a bloodline of strong and healthy males, fifteen-year-old August Foxx is the anomaly. A cripple by the very definition of the word, suffering from a rare neurological disease.

In the midst of navigating the choppy seas of his abnormal boyhood, August witnesses a disturbing confrontation between his parents that leaves him questioning his very existence. Getting no answers from his workaholic father nor alcoholic mother, he is dispatched overseas to the family’s Michigan estate while business is again put above building a strong family bond.

August, left in the care of the family’s long-time manservant, Reginald Ristil, feels more at ease than he does a sense of abandonment. That is until a mysterious stranger shows up at the residence under bizarre circumstances.

No family is without its secrets and wealth isn’t accumulated without sacrifice. The type of sacrifice that usually comes at the expense of someone else.

Unexpectedly exhilarating. Run Rabbit Run is not what I would generally say is inside of my circle of books by calling it an occult horror fantasy novel. While I vigorously read anything from crime novels to dystopian future to fantasy, this genre has never truly spoken to me. I find myself going back and rereading one that I had already read than to pick up described as an occult horror. Run Rabbit Run was much more than those labels. While there were things that I found myself not crazy about, I understood the necessity of the imagery to build the picture of the cult that is found in the book. I found myself thinking back to Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl and his Butler and the parallels to August and Reginald but on a darker, more grittier experience. I didn’t realize that I wanted that till I read this novel. The author did a good job with building character and a relationship with the readers. The deeper I read, the more I wanted. No, the deeper I read the more I needed. With a multitude of twists and turns it is sure to leave you guessing what you know till the very end. I believe that further exploration, of not only these characters, but of this dark and gritty world is very much needed. Follow this rabbit down the rabbit hole and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Disclaimer: I received an arc copy from the author!

I have never been a fan of the horror genre when it comes to reading. (Movies every day - all day!). I received this Arc copy of Run Rabbit Run and I will admit it took me a couple of chapters before it turned into a book that I could not put down. There were twists and turns and I was constantly wondering 'where is this going!?', 'what is going to happen next!?'. The characters come alive and take on a life of their own and you are given enough of a background on them that you truly start to feel as if you know the character and what they may or may not do next.

If I could find more books like this the horror genre might find a convert in me. If you love the horror genre I can't imagine you wouldn't love this book. If it's not your favorite give it a try because I more than enjoyed it!

N.A. Williams brilliantly weaves worlds together that wouldn’t or shouldn’t be joined. His talent of animating his characters brings them to life so that they become a part of your world and in turn you become a part of theirs. In “Run Rabbit Run” Mr. Williams will take you through an action packed adventure that will leave you turning the pages quickly, afraid to miss a moment of this eerie tale. A tale of the eternal struggle between good and evil. But, which is which? Black and white is not truly clear until you delve deeper down the rabbit hole. Kudos Mr. Williams!

To preface this book review, I received an ARC copy of Run Rabbit Run.

This book is completely captivating. I am a huge fan of horror/mystery/crime and to be honest, this book hit the nail on the head. There are many unexpected turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the main characters and how they grew throughout the book. A word of caution: once you start reading it, you won't be able to put it down so I suggest having the time to read it over! I cannot wait to see what more this author has to write about. Truly a good, page turner. 10/10 would recommend.

I love all things horror, and this book most definitely DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I started reading and got so engrossed, I could not put it down. Well, a few events chilled me to my bones so I had to put it down a time or 2. LOL. When I say this is edge of your seat, full fledged terrifying, I don’t know if a movie could even do it justice!! I will definitely be reading again, it’s just that good!!

This was a wild ride. I enjoyed that nothing was thrown at you and that the picture was painted in pieces introducing you to the Foxx family occult fairytale. Lots of funny quips throughout and solid writing, I look forward to reading more from Williams in the future!
