Two killers, one title, but who will take the crown?
When two serial killers start competing against each other, they leave a blood trail, unlike anything anyone has ever seen. But as the bodies begin to pile up, the acts of violence get more obscene. Which one will make their move to win the game?
Your Move is an extreme horror novelette, with scenes of sex and violence which are likely unsuitable for most. Consider this a trigger warning for just about everything.
Nat Whiston is from Birmingham, England. She published her first short story, What's Eating You on Godless Horrors, and did a collaboration story with Ash Ericmore - Your Move. She has the two novels of her three-part Extreme Horror/Dark Fantasy series, called Death Walks with Me and Time is Fleeting currently out. She has published the popular body horror short 'Feel Her Pain' and has a kid's series with Little Cape Publishing called Niko's Nightmare Portal Pet. She also does Nat Whiston Reviews to support other authors in the Indie Horror Community with co-host Creepy Bunny. Her favorite author is Clive Barker.
I’m brand new to Nat Whiston, but this was certainly a delightful introduction. Jack and Hazel, our leads, engaged in this battle of the sickest type of dynamic. The gore, the hatred, the intrigue, all hit the right marks. And there was a ton of body horror, but none of it felt out of place of overdone. The twist at the end was great, too. Just a very well done horror experience. I guess my only critique here was that the pacing was a tad quick and I would have loved to go deeper into these characters over a longer reading experience. Otherwise, I am now very curious to see Nat Whiston’s other offerings.
GET YOUR ONESIES ON, KIDDOS! So this was, in my opinion, a great idea for a story. I love that you get to see Ash be Ash with his killings and his humor. MY FAVORITE! And Nat came in, guns blazing, with her kills too. They rated the kills, mine would have to be the... (It'll be yours too, no doubt. Don't want to spoil it before)
Well that was one hell of a short read. This was a fucking brutal fast-paced "hold my beer" competition between two serial killers with a ending that just kicks you in the face. I liked this a lot the concept the characters and it was awesome because to me it felt like Ash Ericmore and Nat Whiston are kinda going at each other raising the bar in every chapter... Just awesome highly recommend.
Two of my favorite authors come together to give us a story of a competition between serial killers with a completely shocking ending I didn't see coming! I love that this was written in first person going back and forth between the main characters. I think we need more of this duo!
I have been having the attention span of a gnat lately and have been having a hard time reading anything novel-length. Thank you Godless for all these short little gems!! And man......This one is a fucking diamond. Ash and Nat back and forth on this one is golden. Both killers trying to out due the other and rating each killing. Of course, for us degenerates, the humor splattered thru-out this sick and twisted tale is icing on the cake. I loved it!!

A little competition can be a good thing. Whether it's your hobby or occupation, rivalry can be a healthy motivator to push yourself to excel. It's perhaps a bit less healthy when talking about two serial murderers leapfrogging over one another to produce a more gruesome and intricate tableau, but who are we to judge? The night can be dangerous, but it's so much worse if you happen to be a secondary character concocted by the combined imaginations of Whiston and Ericmore. Whether we're talking about power tools, sex toys, or construction equipment, these two will find a way to utilize it in the most gruesome manner possible. Am I talking about the characters or the authors? Is there a line that separates them? Much as their respective characters seek to outdo one another within the narrative, the authors of this deliciously violent story compete the perpetrate increasingly cruel and vicious acts on the page. It must be said that these two work well together in that respect, as any reader will be delighted to discover. But is it possible that one of these killers is more than they seem? Is there a grand design of malevolent intent taking shape before our eyes? You'll have to read it for yourself to find out.
This quickly became one of my favorites by Ericmore!
We follow two serial killers who don't know each other, but are constantly trying to better the other. Who will win as the best killer?
This was super entertaining, and I loved how the story changes perspectives between our two characters. I couldn't choose a favorite, haha, so I just allowed the book to take me over and see what happens by the end.
It's violent, well written, and a fun ride as you would expect by this author!
The twist that happens, kind of comes out of nowhere, but I still absolutely loved it!
What is better than a serial killer?………… Two serial killers! What is better than two serial killers?……… Two serial killers trying to compete for the best kills! This book is full of gore and humour, loved this one 🙃
This was a delightful and nasty little tale. Ash Ericmore and Nat Whiston do a little serial killer tradeoff with some pretty gruesome and original kills. As expected, the brutality and gross outs increase as the story progresses, with each person (serial killer or writer?) trying to one up each other. This isn't just your standard hack and slash story though, and I really enjoyed how they ended it. I definitely recommend giving this one a read, both of these authors are doing killer work.
Did you like the movie Seven? You must read this then! Exquisite body horror and some hilarious cheeky parts. I am unfortunately unfamiliar with Ash Ericmore, but I know and love Nat Whiston (and Creepy) on YouTube! I really like the back and forth in this, and it moved very fast while still leaving time for the reader to say "WTF?!"
Two serial killers compete torturing and then brutally eliminating their victims.
This was disturbing and gruesome. Ericmore and Whiston had some creative kills that fueled the competition, and they only get worse as the story progresses. Very thrilling and fast paced read. Love the twist at the end.
This had potential to be great. But it was kind of boring I mean it held my attention but I know for a fact Ericmore can write a banger. I don’t know the other author but I could tell this wasn’t his style really. I didn’t really like the ending either. But it was fun regardless. Nice and short entertainment.
Two serial killers go back and forth trying to one up the other. The killings definitely get worse as the book goes on in my opinion. Didn’t expect that ending. Definitely enjoyed this author collab and will be reading more from them.
Such a fun concept by two horror authors I greatly admire. I loved the back and forth thoughts between the characters and the demolition sight scene made my jaw drop. This book is a quick read and nothing but good, bloody fun. 4.5/5 rounded up!
