“I’m the toxin and you’re my antidote.”
This is the last book in the trilogy and I’m so sad it’s over, but also happy because my favorites will finally catch a break with their HEA. This book had a time jump and I literally went into a panic because I thought the worst happened in the span of a year.
Ainsley finally decided to get sober and I couldn’t be more proud of her. After the time jump she has a stable job working at the rehab facility she attended and living at a group recovery home until she’s finally finished with recovery. She was back to her happy, free-spirit and wild self. Honestly, I was so relieved knowing she got to heal, the only thing missing seemed to be Killian. She still loved him though and wouldn’t stop worrying about him which tore at my heart a bit.
In the span of a year, Killian was sent to prison. My poor baby, he had to go through so much throughout all these books and could not catch a break. Once he was out from prison he was sent to a court ordered rehab which happened to be the one Ainsley worked at. I was waiting for a reunion if I’m being honest. Killian never had a drug addiction so he felt as if his time in rehab was useless but in reality, he got the help he needed as was able to heal, which was exactly what he needed.
These two honestly just keep me on my toes the entire time. Their sneaky rendezvous around the facility were so fun to read about because there was not a single time where I questioned if they still loved each other. They truly never stopped, everything they did was for each other even if it didn’t seem like it.
When they got caught my heart dropped because them apart is always unbearable but as always, eventually, they were brought back together, and my obsessed babies made it work. While there is nothing ever easy about these two, I was so happy they got to be with each other sober and happy.
This book was just as emotional as the rest, and I genuinely gained such an attachment to these characters its insane.
I love how well this book was written and how all the topics are handled correctly and not romanticized. They’re realistic and while the struggles shown have a happy outcome, you’re still aware it’s not always like that. This is an unconventional love story but still the love in this book was one hundred percent soulmated love. They burn brighter than any light when they’re together.
The ending of this book was perfect. I felt as if the author ended it in a perfect way. Killian and Ainsley are together and happy, which is something worth celebrating. It didn’t need an epilogue because realistically they will struggle but, in the end, they’ll be back.
Overall, the entire Dazed series has my heart and especially Antidote. I love Killian and Ainsley so much and I wont stop thinking about them for a long time. Before reading check tw’s but even if you don’t and go in blind, I hope you can love them as much as I do.
