Eight years. It’s been eight years since the incident. The one that left me broken and in darkness. No amount of time can heal the loss of my family.
Then they appeared. Three men who claim to know me, to have shared a past full of love with me.
The only problem? I don’t remember them. It’s clear there are pieces of my life missing, and they are holding secrets. Secrets that might explain why I’m now caught up in the midst of a supernatural battle, with danger lurking in the smoky shadows, and what happened all those years ago.
Will these be brought to light or will I find myself shrouded in the dark with no way out?
This is a dark paranormal reverse harem intended for an 18+ audience. Content warning: Thoughts of suicide

I received this book as an ARC yesterday. I was very skeptical about starting it as I already had several books started and this book was different to what I typically read. I absolutely love Reverse Harems but tend to steer clear of the paranormal. I started this book as I laid down in bed and figured I would read a chapter or two and here it is several hours later and the book is finished and I have already tried looking up the next book in this series. Iris this book is amazing. It grabbed my attention from the first chapter. From the main characters being snarky, possessive, adoring, controlling but this story breaks your heart but then puts it all back together again with laughter and the love that the 3 main guys have for their girl. I see back stories to some of the secondary characters (blue haired gentleman and his friends) coming to play in a possible spinoff of their own I am hoping. For being a baby author you did a fantastic job at not going overboard in descriptions and you kept the story on track. You introduced enough fire into the sex scenes without going overboard knowing that they were reintroducing themselves to each other. I look forward to the next two books to have even hotter and more soul burning scenes between them and definitely more group interactions! This definitely is the longest review I have ever done and its because I was truly amazed at how much I like and will recommend this book to others! Think I just found a new favorite to let my "demons" come out and play with!

Great read

Really enjoying this book. I liked the air of mystery that we got at the start with not knowing who Kade was it knowing if he was a good guy or a bad guy. I knew that things were going to go wrong with the way the guys were trying so hard to protect Sunny and not telling her everything. But, the ending was a bit of a shocker and I can't wait to see how things pan out, for everyone!

I'll be honest, I volunteered to read this on a whim and I don't regret it.
Sunny is walking through life without really living.
She goes to work day to day, tolerates a horrible boss and the person she considers herself to be closest with is a mini mart clerk who gives her free treats.
One day changes it all. She runs into a stranger and from there her life changes.
I won't get into details because I highly recommend you find out for yourself but a heads up to you?
There's a cliffhanger that is going to frustrate the hell out of you

Happy reading :P

This book has some of the best elements for a strong paranormal RH. It features Sunny, a human woman walking through life fairly numb and closed off from others until she is thrust into a world of the supernatural. Sunny is so quirky and awkward in the best way. It took me a little while to warm to her but it was worth it. I felt like I was truly getting to know someone as more of her personality was revealed.

There is also so much mystery. We aren’t left hanging completely without answers, but there is still so much to learn from the next book. I have questions, and I’m also so invested in the relationships that are forming. I’m really rooting for this happily ever after after everything that these characters have already been through.

The only reason this isn’t a solid five stars is because some of the dialogue is a little awkward for me, and sometimes the way it switched from current to past tense confused me , despite making overall sense. I love supporting brand new authors and Iris James is for sure one to watch for!

I knew before she even started writing this, that I would love it and I was right. Iris is an amazing freaking author. She pulls you into the story and drives you crazy wanting to know all the things right now. I loved Sunny so much. She was so relatable and funny and I want to be her best friend. Even if she did break my heart in the end. Can't wait to read the next book. It can't come soon enough! Trust me you want to read this book.

WOW! So glad I got the chance to read this book! I, like the main character, hate not knowing everything ASAP. This story was so interesting and compelling that I had to keep reading to find out who these men were to her, what happened to her in the past, and will what happen next. I absolutely loved the story but man oh man that knife to the heart at the end - and then the complete twist of the knife. 🔪 UGH. IT HURT MY SOUL.

Cannot wait for book two!! Hopefully, the men redeem themselves quickly and we get to see a little more of the steam/spice between each of the characters. But this story was so good, I loved it! Highly recommend if you're looking for a paranormal reverse harem

This story drew me in from the very first words. Iris has a magical way of telling a story which keeps you incredibly present and living the story.

This one has a lovely dash of mystery and so many secrets to be revealed as well as the answers we've already had. The healthy dollop of steam is a very welcome addition and my god does Iris get it right!! Sunny is my fave kind of FMC. She's strong, funny, doesn't take any rubbish but she still has her vulnerabilities. Her customer service skills are life :D. The guys are deliciously Alpha and I am so here for more of them.

That bloody ending though, what a cliff hanger. I need more!

Sunny is a great main character. She’s funny as hell with her inner monologues! I loved the twist that she had lost her memories and didn’t remember the guys and had to start new relationships with them. She’s a little broken and sad but still shows great adversity. This is a book about good vs evil with not everything being black and white. If you like the supernatural and reverse harem, read this book!

⚠️suicidal thoughts

“ℕ𝕠. 𝕐𝕠𝕦’𝕣𝕖 𝕘𝕠𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕠 𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕒𝕥 𝕞𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕖 𝕀 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕖 𝕒𝕘𝕒𝕚𝕟.”

From the first sentence, this book has you wanting to know what is going on.

Sunny is a person that follows a routine. When she “bumps” into a man, she feels things that she doesn’t normally feel. And when his brothers show up saying their from her past, she questions everything that happened that night.

Sunny’s inner dialogue and the way she talked to the customers she dealt with had me laughing.

The guys are all different personality wise but fit together as a group well.

That ending crushed me a bit. I have so many questions and can’t wait to see what Sunny plans to do next.

Such a great story. This was extremely well written and developed. It has a lot of drama, suspense, action, and a bit of mystery. Sunny had me at times wanting to smack her, but at other times I throughly enjoyed her. The reason for wanting to smack her is because she doesn’t listen to everything. Kade, Kaz, and Wrex were great. Yes, the d to not fully think things through but otherwise they are fantastic. The ending was shocking. It ends in a doozy of a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what happens next. This is a must read!!!!!

This book has so many great things--witty humor, twists and turns, heartfelt moments. You'll get to the end and scream for more! Sunny is a little goofy and a lot tough, having a painfully difficult past. The guys are loyal and protective and not so patient in their wooing. lol Splintered will have you laughing till you cry then crying till you laugh. It has the perfect blend of serious and funny with a good dash of steam, and I am already begging Iris for the next book.

Iris James is a new author for me and I can say for certain that I’m hooked. Her ability to capture your attention is great. The way she makes you feel with her words will make you feel so many different emotions with what Sunny has gone through. The cliffhanger ending tore me up and I cannot wait for the next part!

DNF

There's slow building and then there's this 58% and the plot hasn't started yet, it's like the author was just writing for the sake of writing. The main character still doesn't have a defined character maybe that's why the book is called splintered. Seeing as this is a series and it's already a painful read I'm not holding much hope for book 2.

4.5 rating rounded up to 5

Sunny has been having one nightmare for 8 years….. only it’s not a nightmare. It’s a memory. She lost her family and has tried to heal for the last 8 years. She moved to a new place and met Joe who is like her father. She was somewhat comfortable with her routine until one day, Kade showed up.

Kade brought Kaz and Wrex with him. Sunny feels this strange pull to them. She feels safe and comfortable but doesn’t know why. They explain to her that she can’t remember them but they used to be her boyfriends and to her surprise reveal that they are demons.

The four of them try to navigate these new relationships while she tries to remember them. She is in danger and Kade, Kaz and Wrex will do anything to protect her.

There were so many emotions happening to me while reading this book! Each guy had an equally engaging relationship with Sunny. They were protective and brutally honest, but they were also sweet and tender and passionate.

Iris how could you do this to me?! 😩 I freaking almost through my Kindle at the ending! Please hurry so I can read book 2!!

What a rollercoaster of a book. Sunny is such a strong character. She's a wonderful character who has been through so much.
*****May contain spoilers*****
Losing her parents and her memories. Starting over then enter three men. Kade, kaz and Wrex. The guys are alpha as they come. I loved this book from start to finish. It was a rollercoaster of emotion. I felt her sadness I felt the guys pain and anger. And doing everything to make sure they don't hurt Sunny again. And I'm gonna quote a line from the book which is so true and It's James nailed it with this line " I’ve seen good people do awful things. I’ve seen bad people make good choices. What is good? How do you know you’re on the right side of things? Or the wrong, for that matter? Maybe none of us ever really know." I'm excited for book 2. I'm excited to see if she tells the guys she got her memories of them all. I hope Joe works with the guys to bring Alessandro down!!!

Sunny is an absolute ray of Sunshine and I adore her 💯💯

Iris James really did a number with Splintered. The guys are all beautifully damaged. The FMC is independent, takes no crap, and has an amazing personality.
I never thought I would read about a character who would also hate on carpet for its beigeness until I read the first pov of Sunny's and was pleasantly surprised. Her men. Her. Men. Drool. Just..drool. 🤤🥵🤤🥵
Unsurprisingly, the acehole leader is my favorite guy, of course. By now, it is pretty obvious I like the cranky ones. Also. THAT ENDING!!!!!! I KNEW IT!!!! Aghhhhhh....🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
This means so much pain next book, and I am here for it!!👌👌

Dammit!!!

I am an impatient person at times, which can be both a blessing and a curse. In the case of this book, it's both.
I started reading 'Splintered' the day it was released, and finished it the next day. It was engaging from the first chapter, and I found myself both loving and also wanting to Gibbs-slap several of the characters - mostly Kade.
Where my impatience becomes a curse though? This is not a standalone book. It's book one of what I believe will be a trilogy. I wouldn't say it ends in a cliffhanger as such, but it *does* finish with several major plot points left unresolved. Now I have to wait until the next book is released! Dammit! I *hate* waiting!

Sunny is such a relatable main character. I can't decide if I love her breakfast choices, her customer service skills, or her independent-to-a-fault personality more. Her men are so distinct and frustratingly stubborn, I wanted to reach through the screen and yell at them, then sneak into their beds for a cuddle. I had a feeling Iris was going to kill us with the ending and now I want to slide into her DMs and demand she write me the rest of the series! I'm completely hooked. Count this among the must-reads for this year.

I really liked Sunny’s blunt, filter-less attitude. It definitely led to some hilarious moments. I also really liked the guys, especially Kaz and Wrex - Kade kind of had some alphahole moments. The connection between them was intriguing. There were a couple spots where it confused me - at times it seemed like they hadn’t known where she was or seen her, and other times it seemed like they had. I would say the ending is a twist but not a cliffy, but I’m intrigued to see where this series is going.

The fmc is not consistent at all. One minute she is shy and awkward the next a “fiery redhead” 🙄 This sort of thing occurs the entire book. No sense is rehashing it all.

I love books without bully element too.
So I was looking forward to reading this series.

But it just felt choppy to me. I didn’t feel any heat bt the fmc and her guys. There was no real depth to any of these characters either.

I am not gonna continue on reading the series. Just not sucking me in. I don’t care what happens to any of them.

Loved it!

Iris James has created an amazing world with amazing characters! I was hooked right from the start and didn't want to stop reading. The book it told from multiple POV's which I love. Sunny and her men have great chemistry. I love the mix of emotions you get while reading, sometimes you'll laugh, sometimes you'll cry . And that cliffhanger! I need book two right now! I can't wait.

If you’re in the market for a totally relatable, awkward, word vomiting main female character who gets herself into situations that you can’t help but chuckle about, look no further - Sunny here is the girl for you!!

This book is a riot and had me laughing all throughout, full of sarcastic quips and satirical comebacks…you can’t help but love a book that triggers your sardonic side!!

The story is very well written, immersing you into a mysteriously gripping plot that you cannot help but need to devour as quickly as possible. It has angst, action, drama, mystique and a good amount of sauce that you know is building up to explode the further in the series.

The characters are all perfectly balanced….each bringing their own personalities and encounters that further enrich the story, leaving lasting impressions that you’ll randomly recall - and that leave you smiling!!

The only negative is that Ms James is a TEASE….dropping hints left, right and centre that annoyingly stick with you - again adding to that need to consume the book so you can discover it’s treasures!lol - so that you find yourself trying to guess with wildly imaginative theories where this will end up!

An absolute belter of a solo Debut for Ms James, a full 5⭐️’s
I cannot wait for the next instalment in the series! You will NOT be disappointed if you take a chance on this book…it’s amazing!!

Could NOT put it down! Splintered is about a girl whose memories from a certain time in her life are erased. Then three men come into her life and try and make her remember what happened to her. This book gives you the POV of all four of them. The writing, emotions and action scenes are all written beautifully. Can't wait for book 2!

Fantastic Read

Can I just say wow!

First I would like to say Sunny is my soul sister. What she says to the callers at her job is what goes through my mind on a daily basis at work.

Iris definitely made me feel like I was in the story with these characters. I laughed when they laughed and cried when they cried. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to be released.

A good start!

This was my first book from Iris and it won't be my last! I really liked this one. It had a lot of twists, turns and surprises, but there is still a TON of things left unanswered. The ending was a little bit of a surprise, I am anxiously waiting for the second book! I definitely would recommend this one!
