Ghost stories from the Graveyard of the Pacific have never been so creepy, fun, and full of mystery! The haunted history of the Pacific Northwest's coast comes to life--even when the main players are dead. Keep your eye out for the spirits of long-lost sailors along the Columbia Bar. Or visit the White Eagle Saloon and Hotel to catch a glimpse of the spirits who checked in but never checked out. Dive into this spooky chapter book for suspenseful tales of bumps in the night, paranormal investigations, and the unexplained; just be sure to keep the light on.
This was terrible. The edition I read had so many errors. Maybe the people at Arcadia Children’s Books thought that since it was “just” written for kids, they didn’t need to take the time to edit. For example, there were 2 errors on page 80, one on page 82, and one on page 85. It was like that all the way through. There were also many contradictions within the stories themselves. One sentence said someone died one way, then later in the story it said they died another way. It made it hard to believe any of it. What is the real story and what was just made up to fill space? I wouldn’t recommend this as an introduction to Pacific Northwest ghost stories and I certainly wouldn’t give such a poor quality book to an emerging reader and learner. They need the best, not the worst.
I bought this at Rite Aid so I should have known it might not be anything better than Google could provide. The price was really high for so little info. I think the formatting made it extra difficult to read as well. The listing here for the book is also written incorrectly if that says anything more about it. I feel bad saying so many negative things but I didn’t want to leave such a low review without explanation. I think this would be fun in a gift basket at Halloween or something but not in the way I got my copy of the book.
Abbreviated ghostly tales of shipwrecks and saloons, hotels, and graveyards. Every tenth sentence is punctuated with an exclamation mark! I found at least a dozen typos! Not the best collection.
I agree with other reviews, many mistakes and format not the best, but interesting stories and encourages me to revisit PNW and see if I can find some of these places.
