Hate #2

Hate the Way You Lie

Rate this book
This is book 2 in the Hate Series. If you haven't read Hate You Forever then I caution you not to read the blurb. Books have to be read in order.

I thought I was free of that evil for good.

Turns out, my husband, the man who said he would protect me, is easily swayed.

He took the word of a monster over mine, leaving me vulnerable once again.

Out from the shadows the beast that I’d been running from arose, trapping me in his claws.

Betrayed and alone.

I no longer have my loving, broken, tattooed man.
Or my sweet, sensitive protector on my side.

Now, it’s up to me to survive long enough to save myself.

Every day with him is torture, but I need to wait for the perfect time to run as far away from Craibridge as I can. I might shatter in the process, but if no one else will save me I have to save myself.

I’ll be the hero and villain in my own story.

I’ve never been good at saving myself in the past, but I won’t just lie down and die.
Whether I survive or not, at least I’ll be free.

TW: This book is dark. Darker than Hate You Forever. It includes themes surrounding SA, abuse, DV, illegal activities, and severe trauma.

I was only reading to find out how she got out of the situation that Marnix put her in. Very convenient (!)

Anyways, I still hate all the characters. Rush and Cohutta aren’t even doing it for me.

Halfway through the book and she’s not mentioned a thing to her parents yet? And no one seems to be keeping an eye out for Zayan. Just amateur hour over here.

Holy smokes was this book AMAZING!!

This is book 2 of the Hate series and it is super dark. Please make sure to read trigger warnings.

Tara goes through A LOT of trauma throughout the first half of the book. She also goes through a lot of set backs, but with her men and friends by her side- she has all the support she needs and I just know she’ll be alright.

Nix had to redeem himself for a lot of things in this book. We can see how much he regrets his actions and now that he knows he’s made a mistake and knows that there’s a possibility of Tara never forgiving him- he’s allowed himself to be more vulnerable and open.

SO MUCH happens in Hate the Way You Lie. We learn a bunch of stuff (some things I did not see coming.)

But that cliffhanger?! Absolutely insane and I need the next book asap!!

OOO I was WAITING for this to come out after that
cliffy in book 1. I wasn't disappointed. This book is
wayyy
darker than book one so know that before you dive in.
We follow the FMC as she is with her worst nightmare. Her men trying to locate her and retrieve her.
Also how her men are with each other since the blame falls on you know who's shoulders.

The ending to this one was just as intense and I'm like what ya mean it's over??? Bring it on back Denver
we got shit to finish here.

This book takes off right where book one ended. It's an emotional ride along the way. Rush and Cohutta are furious with the way Nix handled the entire situation after it being explained. When Rush comes clean about Tara and Zayan's past, the entire situation changes and everyone, including Nix wants her back and safe.

Meanwhile, Tara is back in her prison only this time, she isn't sure if she can escape. Zayan does unspeakable things and Tara is a shell of herself (Check trigger warnings before). When she is finally reunited with her guys, it's only the start of a whirlwind of emotions. Nix is outcasted as his choices literally almost killed her. Will he be able to come back from that? Can they ever have what they had before together?

With Taras trauma, it only brings it out of the others - feelings and memories someone has tried hard to forget, comes barreling forward and with it comes questions and uncertainty. When the books ends on a cliffhanger, we are left with our mouths open wide!

I absolutely loved Book 1 and needed book 2 asap. With Book 2, I felt like the suspense and romance we had was left out. The situation they were in was intense, but I felt like it dragged on for a long time. Certain things became focus when I felt like they needed to move on.

This story was dark! We definitely get a background from book 1, but this book intensified it. Check before reading.

*Overall 3.5/5
*Heat? 4/5
*Light MM in this one
*Multiple first person POV
*Ends on cliffhanger

ARC review - OMG the story doesn’t end here!

You guys! There’s some aspects of this story that was hard to read, ie the triggering content (which you should read the TWs for) but overall I’m so freaking invested in these characters and their story and I’m both exhilarated and a little annoyed that this wasn’t a duology but a trilogy and I now have to wait for the third book to see their HEA!

Exhilarated because there’s so much more to work through yet and the spice was low in this book (because TRAUMA) so I can’t wait to read the resolution of everything and to see Tara as the empowered woman that she is, surviving not once but twice the evils of one psycho. Let’s see if we will see her have to survive it a third time 👀

Annoyed because I could continue reading for another 300 pages just to have it all happily resolve NOW rather then wait for another book 👀 yeah I know I know! I’ll wait! I just was hoping to get to see Tara loving her best life, but I guess we have some more hurdles to jump over! *grumble grumble*

1/5 🌶 *

* spice was low because of the trauma FMc goes through in the first bit of the book

• dark romance +18**
• marriage of convenience
• reverse harem
• MMMF + MM (not v spicy yet - I cannot wait)
• grovelling
• poc fem lead and one of the mmcs

- psa the writing is easy and quick but does have a few cringy moments (sorry! honest review!) otherwise it’d be a 5/5 read

Well this book was one hell of a ride.

Hate The Way You Lie starts right where Hate You Forever ended. With a prologue that will send you through a million and one emotions right off the bat, this book is a freakin rollercoaster from start to finish.

I’m not going to lie, going into this book I wanted Nix to feel ALLLL the pain. But he did win me over, very slowly, throughout this book. Rush and Cohutta were still their same old overprotective, teddy bear selves, only now they are working through their newfound feelings for eachother. We really got to see into the pasts of the guys in this book, and it helps you to understand them a little bit better.

This book follows Tara as she goes through her worst nightmare. Even after suffering all of the pain and suffering that Zayan put her through, she is still a feisty firecracker.

The cliffhanger at the end of this book was wild. I can’t wait to see how this series concludes in the next book. Hopefully Zayan gets the ass kicking he deserves and I hope the guys and Tara finally get the happily ever after they deserve.

Thank you to Denver Rose for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I can't help but giggle a little about how most felt about Nix at the end of book one. And now we're seeing a turn around. They've fallen into his clutches right along with me. 🤣 Welcome to the RIGHT side!

Speaking of right, the only thing I love more than a great RH, is an INCLUSIVE? RH. Sure, it's great for the lady to get attention, but I LOVE it when the rest of the group allows themselves to get close. Romantically or not, seeing them turn into a cohesive unit is beautiful. It's probably my favorite part of the RH genre.

I'm not going to lie and say I love cliffhangers. I still hate them. But these last two have left an impression that ensures I keep with the series and remain impatient for more. They're just done diffrent. Book three can't come soon enough.

So the beginning was intense for obvious reasons. I love that the FMC saved herself. The middle was kinda boring. Same shit over and over. I’m glad she stuck by her guns with Nix. I also liked the romance between Riley and Rush, but it did feel a little convenient that they both developed feelings after Tara showed up even though they’ve known each other for years. The cliff hanger was good as always. I don’t think I’m gonna read the third just because this one wasn’t super engaging and I did get bored reading it.

I received an ARC for Hate The Way You Lie by Denver Rose that will be released on July 22, 2022.

The book is a reverse harem with themes like marriage of convenience, enemies-to-lovers, and bodyguard romance. This is the second book in The Hate series.

I absolutely love Denver's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed getting Rush, Nix, Cohutta, Tara, and Zayan's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book to be announced!

I would highly recommend this book if you like reverse harms, marriage of convenience, enemies-to-lovers, or bodyguard romances.

Just keeps getting better

I thougt book 1 was intense and brutal. Well it's got nothing on hate the way you lie. With each turn of the page tara and her guys story gets darker and darker. How can one person endure so much and still come out the otherside. There are so many triggers in this book so please read them before diving. Prepare your self for one hell of an emotional, traumatic roller-coaster ride

To say I was sucked in from the very first page is an understatement! I was already on the edge of my seat from the ending in book 1 (Hate You Forever), and this book knocked me off it completely.

Tara is as strong as ever, but her strength can only get her so far. She's facing a dªng3r she thought she'd escaped, and now she's träpped in the hands of someone who'd rather see her dëªd than happy with someone else (let alone three someone elses).

Nix, Cohutta and Rush will do anything to get Tara back, but first they have to find her (and once they get her back, will she still be the same Tara they know and love). As they exhaust every avenue and resource, Rush battles his guilt, convinced he failed to protect Tara, Cohutta is descending into self dëstrûction and Nix is førced to face not only what he did but also the true reason why he was so quick to believe what he saw.

It's definitely an intense read with some unexpected twists and turns (mind your triggers). Loved this book and cannot wait for Book 3!

Thank you to Denver Rose and JLCR Author Services for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

First, this book is very dark and contains many themes and scenes that WILL be triggering to some people. I will list trigger warnings at the end with more detail.

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this second book because the first book left off with a cliffhanger that had me so twisted up. If you haven't read the first book, you need to go back and read Hate You Forever since these books must be read in order.

Our second book starts right where the last book left off with a very dark prologue that had me stressing about what was going to happen in this sequel. Tara is back in the hands of Zayan and he's even worse than you could imagine. While Tara is still the firecracker I grew to admire in the first book, she's being put through a Hell no one should ever have to experience. She's in a place that no one knows about and at the mercy of her former abuser. Denver Rose did a great job putting their readers right there with Tara, it was hard to read, but I was able to feel her pain and strength throughout her time being tortured.

Nix, Reilly (Cohutta) and Rush have a lot to overcome when it comes to what's happening to Tara. There is no shortage of guilt and grief over what is happening and each guys' pasts come back to haunt them while they're in such a dark place. I think it added a lot to the story to see just what makes each guy the way they are. Cohutta is always so happy and full of life, but he hides a trauma in his past that just won't leave him alone. Likewise, Rush has overcome a past nightmare that just won't let him be free to forgive himself and believe he deserves happiness. Nix, while still an arrogant ass, has been knocked down SEVERAL pegs and is in the position where he must open up and push past his need to make his dad proud.

The interactions between all of the characters were genuine and intense, making this a great book that showed growth and left it open for more growth to occur. The smut was top notch and we even get to enjoy some group activities with an introduction into some MM activities that was HOT! In true Denver Rose fashion, we're left with the mother of all cliffhangers and I am on pins and needles waiting to get a hint of when the next book will come out so I can shamelessly beg for another ARC because I CANNOT WAIT to know what's happened to Tara, Nix, Cohutta, and Rush. I also am giddy with excitement that MAYBE Zayan will get a brutal ending in the upcoming book.

Start this series, buckle up for a twisted villain and help me get through the next however long until we find out what's happening! Trigger warnings listed below.

Knowing the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. It was absolutely worth the wait! If you continue reading this, know that I'm assuming you've read book 1 and are aware of the cliffhanger.

The book begins where you'd expect, when the guys realize what has happened. Poor Rush is racked with guilt, thinking that if he'd have just spoken up about Tara's past with Zayan, Nix wouldn't have allowed her to go with him. Reilly is just devastated. He's basically a shell of himself without her. Nix is another story. We know he has major trust issues, which is the main reason he allowed himself to believe she wanted to leave with Zayan. When he finally finds out what Tara had previously been through, and realizes what he abandoned her to endure, he goes into a deep depression. The guys do anything and everything they can to find her. Once Tara is back with them (I won't reveal how that happens), the rest of the book is mainly about her trying to heal, and the guys putting everything into helping. I will say that I wish they would have forgiven Nix much sooner. I feel like a large portion of the book leaves him on the outside, because the other 3 seem to at least partly blame him. I wasn't a huge fan of his by the end of book 1, but that completely changed for me not long into book 2. I don't think he deserved nearly as much grief or blame as he got.

I really hope I didn't give too much away. The book is written very well (I didn't expect anything less from Denver Rose), I fell more for all of the characters, and it definitely evoked some strong emotions. Make sure to read the trigger warnings before you start!! There are parts that get VERY dark, and some of the trauma Tara endures at the hands of the monster may be difficult for some to read.

Ps. Be prepared for the ending. She hit us with another cliffhanger!!

Hate the Way You Lie is book two of Denver Rose's Hate series. We rejoin Tara, Nix, Cohutta, and Rush to discover how Nix's gut reaction not to trust Tara versus Zayan plays out. The newfound bond they began forging at the end of book one seems to have been viciously slashed in just a few short minutes.

We pick back up right where we left these characters, with a devastated Nix rushing away from Tara's parents' house. In is pain, he lashes out at everyone. When Rush reveals the truth of Zayan's nature to Nix and Cohutta, they are faced with the daunting task of hunting down a professional ghost.

One of the best parts of this book is the way Tara works on coping with the trauma she's faced. The realistic struggle really brings her character to life. This writing duo does a great job of giving a voice to so many who have faced traumatic struggles like Tara. From her feelings about her own self to her process of reconnecting with her harem is raw. Her visceral conflict with not knowing if she can get to a good place again with Nix, and his own overwhelming guilt with his role in the entire situation, is heartbreaking. The growing relationship between Rush and Cohutta is just beautiful. And in true series form, just as the group is hitting their stride again, a crazy cliffhanger pops in to interrupt. I'm ready for more of this quad.

Character development: 5/5
Dark elements: 5/5
Steamy scenes: 5/5
Overall storyline: 5/5
Triggers: yes, indeed - abuse (sexual and physical), domestic violence, discussion of miscarriage, and severe trauma

Holy cow with the emotions that this book put me through!

Tara is a fighter through and through and it showed so much with this book. With what all she has been through when it comes to her past and unfortunately her present would send a normal person to the psych floor. Her ability to push and bounce back only continues to grow when she’s around the right people to help her both overcome and grow from it all.

Man at the end of the first book I wanted to strangle Nix. But the battle that he goes through with not only the others but himself as well has changed my feelings towards him so fast and so unexpectedly. To see him fight with himself to give Tara the space that she needs was truly heartbreaking.

My sweet ray of sunshine, Cohutta broke my heart during this book. I wanted so much to reach through the pages and just bundle him up and make it all better.

Our fierce protector Rush fought from the beginning of the book till the pages stopped turning. He may be incredibly angry with Nix but his ability to put that aside to do what needs to be done just shows how much he cares for those he loves.

This book was definitely darker than book one and will take you through some crazy emotions. But trust me, as with every book that Denver Rose writes, all the crazy emotions will 100% be worth it. I need book 3 like I need air to take my next breath.

RUSHHHHHHHHH to this book

Hate The Way You Like (Book 2) - by Denver Rose

3/5 ⭐️
15/5 🌶️

TW: SA

I need to explain my star rating first. This is nothing against the book itself, because it had be - hooked. This is just about the redundancy of scenes being replayed over and over. I’m not a reader who likes to relive things over and over and over again - almost word for word, so the retelling of a story or a situation being told over and over just really annoys me. I feel like 30 pages of this book could’ve been given to more of the story between the characters.

The reason for the 🌶️ rating being less then the other is only because even though the 🌶️ is there - it’s not as often or as intricate as the scenes from the first book - but still give me MFM any day!

Now, this book had me hooked. I was panicking, having anxiety, falling back in love with Marnix and feeling so bad for his character. I know he was messed up and what he did to Tara is not supposed to be forgivable, but in some of the scenes I just felt so bad for him having to witness the things going on.

Now … this CLIFFHANGER??? Are you KIDDING ME? Is it 2023 yet? I say this because I usually refuse to start books in series unless all of the books are released because I don’t want to wait … but here I am.

Hate The Way You Lie was such a good follow up to Hate You Forever! This book is much darker than the first, so please make sure to check the CW at the beginning. It picks up right where HYF left off, and it’s heartbreaking and raw but so real. I commend the authors for going there, even though it’s not pretty, it was true to the story. It’s so well written, the balance between trauma and healing and Tara finding herself again. Just beautiful.

I loved watching Tara heal and realize that her previous coping methods were unhealthy. She’s learning she no longer has to shoulder her trauma alone, and Rush and Cohutta were so sweet and supportive. Absolute relationship goals. 💜 Nix still has some groveling to do, but he’s getting there.

I am not typically a fan of MM - it’s not a dealbreaker in a RH, especially if I love the story, but it’s kinda meh for me. But Cohutta and Rush exploring their feelings for each other was honestly adorbs. 🥰 It’s the first MM I’ve ever actually felt invested in, and I can’t wait to see their relationship grow!

There were a few twists in this one that I didn’t see coming! That cliffhanger though 😭 I will be on pins and needles until book 3 comes out!!

very graphic and intense

ARC review: Releases 7.22.22
We pick up right where that horrendous an cliffhanger from book 1 left us. I wanted to take my hands and throttle Nix. Sweet Rush just knew, he knew something was up. Poor Cohutta seemed to have break as well as Tara.

It took a while for them to find Tara, and my anxiety was quite high for the first part of the book. Heads up, to fully portray the hell Tara is in, this book very graphically portrays her abuse from her ex. It’s not for the faint of heart that’s is for sure. Her freedom was a combo of being found and her getting out, and finding of fit companion along the way. Now, we haven’t figured it out but I would love to know how Zep found her…. Maybe we can find out later?

This book isn’t very spicy, and much tamer than I normally go for. Honestly, it’s needed to make it seem more realistic. Rush, Cohutta and Nix were all supportive of Tara and helped her heal. I honestly, while pissed at Nix, felt a little bad for him. I mean, he truly didn’t know what he was doing when he did it.

Overall I enjoyed the book, just was a little intense! Please check trigger warnings for the series before going into this.

I just finished reading and my emotions are everywhere but this book was freaking amazing from the first page to the last. I lost sleep but it was so good I didn’t want to put it down so it was worth going to work tired.
Tara she put through some hard stuff in this book but man does she come out a warrior. I applauded her the entire time she didn’t allow herself to break in a moment where she felt hopeless and lost but man she is a fighter.
The guys what can I say I felt like I’d never forgive Nix but this book we see a different side and I love it I was mad for awhile but then seeing how he was affected chipped away at me till I forgave him.
Railey is amazing and seeing more of him and reading about his past was heart breaking but damn has he come through.
Rush damn he is just as fabulous and loving and caring that I fell more in love with him then ever.
These three men have my heart.
The ending well my last word was exactly the same one uttered at the very end. So hold on to your seats this book takes you on a ride but one you don’t want off. I can’t wait for the next one already I’ll be watching Denver Rose like a hawk for book 3.

I honestly don't even know where to start. This book tore my heart completely out and slowly put it back together.

It picks up right after the dickwad Nix leaves Tara with her psychotic, abusive ex-boyfriend. And that itself was intense.

Nix, Reilly, and Rush are back at home trying to find Tara. There is an insane amount of tension especially with Nix. Even though I hate him, he does realize his mistakes, and pays for them.

Tara experiences trauma after trauma, and finally is able to find an escape.

This book focused on her healing, and it was an experience. She is such a strong character, she fights with herself constantly, about trying to stay strong and just giving herself time to rebuild. Thankfully, she has Reilly and Rush helping her heal and they are super patient and kind throughout.

You get to see their relationships build and grow stronger, and it was fucking beautiful (and of course, HOT).

Even with this going on, they still have some background trouble, and things are amping up. I cannot get over how much I love this story, and I cannot wait for the next book!

I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. This is book two in the Hate series. Book 1 left us with a major cliffhanger, and I’ve been dying to get my hands on book 2 for months! I can not get into this story much as it is not a standalone and I don’t wanna give any spoilers.
I absolutely move this author and have had the honor to review a few of her books. They never disappoint!! If you like reverse harem dark romance , you will love her work and this book series !
This book had not just my emotions heightened, but my heart as well with the thrill of this one. There was so much suspense, and the darkness in this book made it even more intense than I expected. I flew through this story, as each chapter was harder and harder to put down. The way the author uses each chapter to switch to each of the characters’ different points of views, really immerses you even deeper into the story. The style of writing makes for excellent character and story development.
And this ending !
THAT ENDING. It’ll get ya.

100% a 5⭐️ read from me

Where the heck do I even begin with this one. Tara omg my heart hurt so freaking bad for her and everything she has had to endure I don’t know how she kept pushing forward and didn’t break. She has got to be one of the strongest FMCs I have ever read. This woman is seriously made of steel and has bigger balls than any man ever. Now our guys!! Nix, Rush, Zayn and Cohutta!! Man do I love them all even though I wanted to strangle Nix at the end of book 1 this man definitely had some groveling to do to make up for his actions and while he is not fully there for me in book 2 I absolutely loved getting his POVs we get to see another side to him and how much he really does care and how messed up he was when Tara was gone. That man wanna grizzly to be around. The other three I have love from the beginning and watching their relationship grow with Tara was fantastic but also seeing some certain someone’s explore their feelings gave this baby an extra punch!! This book will get you with another epic cliffy that has you beginning for the next book!! I can’t wait!! Such a great read.

I could not put this book down! Hate the way you lie is book two in the series, and picks up immediately where book one leaves off. If you’ve read book one, you know this mean we are picking up on a deep emotional cliff right from the get-go.

Tara is in danger, and only Rush knows what lies in store for her. His inability to keep her safe eats away at him and was so heart wrenching to read. Tara trusted him with her secret, and he is dealing with the fallout from keeping his word.

Cohorts is coping with the loss of Tara in his own way, and Nyx is forced to face the reality of what he’s done. This book was so emotionally deep, and really packs a punch. My heart broke for the guys and Tara repeatedly.

Tara is such an amazingly strong woman, and her journey took so much out of her. I really loved this story and the emotional rollercoaster it took me on. I’m desperately awaiting book three, because I can not wait to find out what happens next! Please read and mind your triggers - this one goes dark at times.

Having read Hate You Forever i've been looking so forward to more! As soon as this second installment was announced i couldn't wait to get into it. I picked it up and got right back into the Hate world. I so enjoyed this second book!

Tara and her men's journey continues! After the first installment, i wasn't sure what all was going to happen next with these characters! I got pulled right back in by them and their story.

Tara had such strength. I loved how all throughout i went through a such a range of emotions with these characters. I was glad to get more of Tara and her men. I didn't know what to expect / how everyone would tackle things and that kept me on my toes which i really liked!

With Hate the Way You Lie, The Denver Rose duo have created a great and dark continuation that had me feeling so much! I can't wait for more!

There are triggers and this is a dark read, so be sure to read the authors note in the book's synopsis.

One day. Yes that’s all it took was one day to finish this book as I could not put it down. After the first book, Hate You Forever, left on a cliff hanger, I jumped in with both feet into this one. Now, before I go on with the review, you should know that the trigger warnings are not just for fluff, there are some potential trigger that happen in this book and you should be fully prepared that these trigger warning do not play. So be forewarned. But….totally worth getting through those parts.

Tara, Nix, Rush, and Reilly come back in full force in the second book. The dynamics of this group continually change and morph as the book continues. I love watching their relationships grow and expand. So much happens and I can’t go to much into it without potential spoilers. But, also be warned that this book also ends on a cliff hanger and I’m now left trying to figure out how long I’ll have to wait for the next book….but it will be totally worth it.

With the cliffhanger we got from book one, I knew this was going to be a tough read. Much darker than book one. But I love that stuff, and I think they did an amazing job of making the readers feel the pain pouring from the words. The second half of the book gives us all of the angst between Tara and her men.

Tara is a freaking Warrior! I loved the way she fought for herself.

My sweet Cohutta is still my favorite. He’s such a golden retriever, and is just trying to find his people. Terrified of being alone.
Rush, always the protective one. I loved getting more of his past in this book. My heart broke for all of the guilt he carries.
Nix… what am I going to do with you? He messed up, big time. We can see he really wants to do better, but it isn’t going to be easy. He’s not going to be forgiven so easily.

I did not see that twist coming! What?! And then another cliffhanger that had me screaming. The wait for book three is going to be the sweetest torture!

This book gave me so much anxiety to the point that it wasn't even funny. I don't even have anxiety. But somehow, I guess I do now. I was so scared to keep on reading. It made me so mad to read how much they were blaming Nix for doing what he did. So what? Like we're all humans and we make mistakes. They refused to forgive him even though he looks past all their faults and mistakes. I hate that they put him through the ringer and only cared about themselves. Without him, they wouldn't even have a them. Think about that!!!! Okay, rant over. This book gave me so much emotions all across the board. I couldn't keep track of how I was feeling at all. I hated the way I was feeling because Nix was hurt too! Anyways, the anticipation was off the charts. This book focused on the recovery of their relationship and now I need book 3 to cap off these feelings for Team Nix.

Oh, the triggers. Mind them! But if super dark is your cup of tea, then buckle up. Tara goes through so much in this book, and I'm not even going to try to explain it. You have to read for yourself to feel the glorious pain of her journey. My favorite line of hers absolutely broke my heart: I leave my heart on the piano keys with pieces of my soul dripping onto Marnix's lap. Then, there's Marnix. I was more than livid at him at the end of book 1. I had a whole list of bad things I wished for him, but he finally broke apart his tough shell and started to let Tara in. His groveling was so satisfying; to see his pain and know that he felt a sliver of what he did to Tara was amazing karma in action. And Rush and Cohutta. Oh, those boys are the sweetest. Be prepared for these ladies to rip your heart out again with another cliffie. They're so mean. 😜 But I love them anyway. 😘
