Daniel Sperling enters the Seventh Dimension shortly before the return of the Messiah. As one of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists called by Yeshua, the horrors of the Day of the Lord take center stage. Discernment in the seen—and faith in the unseen—can mean the difference between life and death as God teaches perseverance. Daniel’s love for Shale and Shira grows amid revelations concerning the future and the fate of his father. As the Kingdom of God draws near, a new world order built on a matrix of deception, makes Daniel’s calling more perilous and deadly. His race to the finish, where time is an illusion until God’s appointed times, is heroism at its finest—and demonstrates God’s profound love in the heart of all of those who seek Him.

The Howling is adventure at an apocalyptic level. The Rapture of the Church heralds seven years of terrors, monsters, deceptions, death, and the ascension of the Antichrist. Dimension-travelling Daniel, a Jewish believer in Christ, gives us a raw, human window to it all. I found this book filled with Scripture and solid research, ingenious, and enthralling. Lorilyn Roberts has brought Biblical end-times prophecies to 3-D life.

The Howling by Lorilyn Roberts

The Howling is the sixth and final book in the Seventh Dimension series. I have read the others, and thoroughly enjoy Ms Roberts quality of writing. I’m no longer a young adult, and this is not my genre of choice, but I found it fascinating. The premise of this wonderful set of fantasy novels is that “The seventh dimension is a spiritual dimension where time travel is possible.” It is an alternate universe, and a spiritual reality where “the choices made in that dimension determined our eternal destiny”. As theatre deals with the suspension of disbelief, I find this a reinforcement of belief, through the series of stories of the protagonist’s journey to spirituality. Much of this conclusion to the series replicates the prophecy of the Bible’s Book of Revelation, and should inspire another reading of the passages from the Bible as well. Daniel and his betrothed, Shale, are finally reunited and wed, accompanied by all the wonderful familiar characters met throughout the series (including their adopted daughter Shira, and adorable little dog Much-Afraid)

I also loved the recurring message in this book of the John 3:16 biblical quote, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” The author is the founder of the John 3:16 Network, and it’s nice to find this theme carried throughout her books. I also like her message at the conclusion of this book and series, “Time is an illusion until God’s appointed time. You may not have tomorrow. Today is God’s appointed time…”

This book is also part of a boxed set of the Seventh Dimension books…Perhaps this is a good time to read them all!

Readers’ Comments
‘I think this is a very inspiring read. I liked the cover although the blurb is very difficult to understand. Daniel is an interesting character who I enjoyed following on his journey. Older teenagers who enjoy faith-related novels will probably enjoy this.’ Girl, aged 15
‘I suspect it’s probably best to have a good understanding of the bible before reading this set of books. There’s a lot linking them in terms of theme. I liked this book very much. So much so, I might go back and read the others. The author is good at putting together a thought-provoking story with elements of religion and at the same time offering a page-turner!’ Girl, aged 16
‘After reading this book – and the first book – I can only say ‘Time is an illusion’ best sums them up. Cleverly plotted, very dark, with strong characters. I didn’t follow all of it but I still enjoyed the author’s writing skills and also the message.’ Girl, aged 15

To Sum It Up:
‘An insightful story, compelling to the very last page.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

THE HOWLING is the final book in the six-book series, The Seventh Dimension. The title did not give me a clue as to the storyline—but oh my! The story just takes off and takes you with it. Time travel, Christian fiction, romantic fiction, sci-fi, action and fantasy…Roberts almost cuts a new genre as she seamlessly combines them all! Regardless of where your theology places you on the spectrum of when the rapture and subsequent events will occur, THE HOWLING Is a most compelling depiction of the “end times.”

I connected with Daniel Sperling, the very relatable main character. The story is told from his point of view. Roberts characters are very effective. Well drawn and likeable, or not likeable as the case may be! The writing is clean and fluid, the vocabulary is appropriate and the storyline well plotted. I appreciated the lack of swearing or gratuitous violence. There were no “ho-hum” parts where you want to put the book down. The reader is not allowed to lose interest!

I’m not giving any spoiler alerts—this is a “must read” book! It will make you think about events in ways you may not have thought before.

I have already recommended this book!

I absolutely loved this series! It was so good, I read it twice. I was about 12 years old when I read it the first time, and I got a little confused around the end because I didn’t know much about the rapture, tribulation, etc. But I thought it was really creative. Now, after reading it again 2 years later, I can see that the author knew a lot about what she was writing. I learned a lot of things and saw a lot of new biblical references that I didn’t see before. Definitely worth a read!
