Refusing to pursue a prestigious university education suggested by her domineering father, Jordan Parker responds to a desperate plea for help from her Uncle Clarence.
She has pleasant memories of his restaurant on a turquoise lagoon and summer beach holidays with her cousin Leo.
These splendid moments are shattered the moment she steps into the dilapidated house and comprehends her uncle’s struggle to stay afloat.
Her senses tingle when she uncovers mysterious disappearances.
Her intuitive prying leads to several gnarly rat holes.
Before she can exterminate the problem, disaster strikes!
Murder takes center stage!
Jordan struggles to uncover the truth. Will the secrets of Dandelion Drift ever be revealed?
I'm not sure where this island is supposed to be located in the world, but it sure sounded like a nice getaway place! Well, except for the problems that Jordan came to help her Uncle Clarence take care of. Was someone cooking the books at his restaurant? Or was Clarence's very enthusiastic love of beer drinking up all his profits? Then nothing complicates matters like a dead body, right?
Jordan was basically a kid right out of high school and a fairly likeable one at that who at times seemed more mature than people might give her credit for. She helped the police who were actually grateful enough that they made her an offer later on. I think she might make it as a good investigator if that's what she ends up wanting to do. She definitely accomplished a lot for Clarence while she was there. I'm interested enough to keep borrowing the series in KU to see what happens next.
An excellent start to a series that should be a fun read.
Jordan graduates high school and is fighting with her father who wants her to go to college while she wants to determine what she wants to do. She decides to go to her uncles place on a small coastal island and help him get his restaurant back on track. Once she arrives strange things happen and she is committed to get to the bottom of it. A fun read.
Great mystery series. Enjoy having Jordan get into every ones business as she figures out who has done the evil deed. Will be reading more from this series.
