Growing up in the elite world, I’ve been taught not to trust. Still, I did it anyway.
Silly, silly me. I should’ve known how it would end…
Blindsided by their broken parts and their similarities to my own story, I let my guard down. I put my faith in them—my gorgeous Economics professor and the Knights’ bad apple.
And was rewarded with the ultimate betrayal.
Not again. Never again.
It’s time for my revenge.
It won’t be pretty. It won’t be sweet. But it will be one-hundred percent satisfying.

Lovely Deceit is the second installment within the Pretty Little Dead Girl series. Just like the first book, I devoured this in one sitting. It doesn't hurt that Eden and the guys are just so easy to fall in love with. The romance between them is definitely heating up and I'm super excited to see where the next book will take us. At one point, though, I thought they were some hints about a possible pregnancy, but I could be wrong. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if that happens in the next book or in the future.
I also really enjoyed Eden's little revenges towards the guys. Yeah, sometimes it felt a bit childish because it's a secret society that she isn't really a part of yet. Then again, if they are supposed to be protecting her then she probably should learn to trust them. As for the rest of the secret society, I want them to all crash and burn.
I would also really like to learn more about her sister's death because hot damn - we still know next to nothing! I mean, we get hints, but I want so much more than that. It would not surprise me if Leo's grandfather or whatever is involved because he creeps me out so much.
In the end, I need the next book to fall into my lap right now.
Revenge is sweet and so is payback in this 2nd book in The Pretty Little Dead Girl series. This series picks up right where that cliffhanger ending to book 1 left off. Blimey Oliver comes into his own in this book. His love and loyalty comes shining through with him giving his support and help to Eden (FMC) to get the answers she's looking for about her sister. I loved how Eden didn't let Leo and Alaric off too easy for what the did and didn't do for her. The plot twists are outstanding in this series. With everything that goes on in this book I'm looking forward to the next one
The grovelling was *chef's kiss*. Yes, Leon's was horrendous but damn..Eden is a vengeful bitch and I'm loving everything so far. But also did anyone else think that this book got over way too fast? Even the sequence of days were short af and we're literally no way near to finding out the truth behind the sister's murder! I hope shit clears up by the next book and we get more things actually happening.
Lovely Deceit, book two of EM Moore’s Pretty Little Dead Girl series, features an intricate and layered plot alongside complex, multi-dimensional characters. And just like book one, I was completely and utterly consumed from start to finish.
No one does character development quite like EM Moore and one particular character in this book blew me away. I was surprised at how different I felt about this character simply over the course of just this book. Other characters grow and evolve and the relationships evolve alongside them. In Lovely Deceit, FMC Eden continues to slay. She has moments of vulnerability but overall remains in control, never straying from her ultimate purpose with her loyal prince by her side.
This series is so much more than a traditional new adult college romance. The secret society storyline elevates this book to a thrilling mystery and the uniqueness of each relationship keeps things engaging and fresh. The spicy scenes are provocative, passionate and insanely hot, layered with just the right amount of emotion.
The book ends on a moment of understanding among the characters, and while I wouldn’t call it a cliffhanger, it most definitely has me anticipating book 3. Absolutely captivating series from EM Moore! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
okayyyyyytt!!! i’m pleasantly surprised how much i like the series tbh. delivery on point. story on point. characters AND plot on POINT. in love with everything. and one thing that i really liked was leo’s groveling. tbh sometimes someone can do something so bad and grovel for so much and in my heart i feel like they needed to grovel more. but leo’s groveling was probably so simple but i ate it up so fast you wouldn’t notice it was there. the way of writing is so satisfying and how she’s giving every single character so much that you don’t have any questions to ask. on to the third book 😎
I think in bully type books they forgive each other because they have grown close and have shared intimate moments (I don't mean sex, but just being vulnerable with each other). I felt like I was missing that here. Those moments that make you fall in love with the character and make you root for their relationship.
Also, I did find Eden a bit frustrating in this one. Oliver is 100% my favourite.
If it wasn’t on KU and I hadn’t downloaded it with the first I doubt I’d have read it. The first book and this one could have been combined to one book. There’s no ending meaning there’s obviously going to be more and I just don’t care. Two books and less answers and still no real character development. Honestly the smut was the only reason to continue reading and I didn’t care about that either.
oliver is so annoying and at times i wanted to punch eden. sorry but leo is my fav even though he kinda sucks and alaric doesn’t get enough appearances…i forget he’s there half the time and when it’s his pov i’m always confused bc it’s a rare occurrence.
I really enjoyed the evolving behind the scenes plot that Moore writes into this story. I am ever curious and my interest is piqued when it comes to the Knights, the murder, the professor and her father.
I do have to say that I was disappointed with Eden's behaviour toward Leo. I really enjoyed his characters and his emotional vulnerability and on a number of occasions Eden took advantage of this vulnerability to be cruel which I didn't think was necessary. I feel like she really set him up on multiple occasions to fail and when Leo did what she asked and excelled, she punished him. I didn't like that Eden was cruel to Leo and not to Barclay even though they had really done the same things to her.
The storyline was well written, easy to follow and intriguing. I just wish that Leo was treated more fairly - as based on what I've read he didn't deserve such treatment.
I do look forward to the next book to see where the story goes and what happens.
Damn I am obsessed with this series!! I would say Eden absolutely gets her vengeance! My heart actually hurt so much for Leo. He definitely took a bit longer to learn his lesson, and it about broke me. Eden is badass, and every time she’s knocked down she gets right back up and surprises everyone! The Knights are a such a dangerous and toxic secret society, and definitely 100% male driven.
Eden, Oliver, Leo, and Alaric have been at odds over everything. What Eden should it shouldn’t do, jealousy between the guys, betrayal, heartache, love, and hate. I’m so anxious for them to work as a unit, and see what they can accomplish then! Also, I’m ready for the guys to be on the same page where Eden’s concerned…she deserves all the love! 😈
If you haven’t started this series yet, you should, but start with the prequel Hush, Hush! Oh my…this story will blow you away! It’s so good and keeps you on the edge of your seat!
The intrigue in this whole story just fascinates me so much! I read the prequel novella, which is what happened to Dee from her POV, up until the incident at the party, and I still have zero ideas about who did it. I have some suspicions, and the books leave some clues, but every time I think I’ve figured it out, something new comes to light.
The spice is amazing. And the actions and intentions of two of the three men let us see them better in this book, and we get some more history about them as well. I still love Eden and am rooting for her in every scenario, even against the guys.
I am in love with this series! Ollie is still my favorite out of the boys. That boy just owns my heart. After the first book, I was nervous about how everything would turn out with Leo and Alaric. Those two definitely had some groveling to do! But I'm happy with how things turned out in this book and I like how they're relationship with Eden grew.
Omg this book was amazing. After the cliffhanger in book one I need to know what happens next. I'm so happy Eden got her some payback on Leo and Alaric. The secrets are start to be revealed. I can't wait for book three. I have so many theory running through my head.
This is the continuing of the 1st book this book is the extension of more clues that have been coming up on that that's a D. as eating keeps trying to figure out who killed her sister even it's funny not that she's being passed off Larry her sister's XP on say not happy about that she's still continue to move in the nights game and pass and through that things are slowly dressing with her and the boys 3 of them are fine getting together
Man, I love this book and series. E.M. Keeps you hooked and wanting more. I’m glad Eden gets what was owed to her and so do the guys. And the mystery, twist, and turns. I absolutely can’t wait for the next book!
Things are getting pretty crazy at Carnegie University, secrets are unravelling, discoveries are being made and things are sure getting spicy. The character development is perfection in this series and everyone just keeps getting better and better.
"Good thing I like the chase." His words send a thrill through me as if being hunted by a reckless, tattooed caveman is all I've ever wanted in my entire life. This girl is living my dream, apart from you know, the whole secret society out to get her and stuff. Leo is making me fall more and more in love with him as time goes on and there is just something about his broken, darkness that pulls me under and I cant escape.
Oliver and Eden are so perfect together, the best friends turn lovers and I am here for it! There is nothing he wouldn't do for her including committing felonies. "Listen I already licked him this morning, so, he's mine."
Four completely opposite people who should not work well together, but they bend and mould around each other to perfection. The royal prince isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. The professor has something worth fighting for. The bad boy? He wants to prove he wasn't broken like a whipped horse.
Lovely Deceit is the second book in the Pretty Little Dead Girl series and yes you must read them in order. Pretty Secrets left Eden in an incredibly bad situation. Lovely Deceit picks up from there. What little bit of trust she had been building with Alaric and Leo is gone. Done. While the ending of book one was a moment of clarity for Eden, it was also a moment of clarity for Leo and Alaric. Their lives have been mapped out for them for so long, they have to contemplate what they actually want. Eden has never been a pushover though and she will get her revenge. She will make them pay.
Oliver is the one shining light for Eden. Bless him, he loves her so much and will do anything for her. He wants to get her out of this messed up world so bad. Seeing her like he did at the end of book one wrecked him. I love him and his fierce determination to do whatever he can to keep her safe.
This book didn't have the same anticipation and heart stopping moments as book one did. It did have a lot of relationship growth and some intense character development. The things that happen in their world really make them take stock of their lives. E.M. does an amazing job of taking characters that you NEVER thought you could feel for and making you see their side. Making you fall for them and root for them. We also get to see Eden and the lengths she will go to in order to show these boys that she is no weak little girl. She has determination and she will get her answers and NOBODY will get in her way. Now this book does have some hot and steamy moments as well. With the amount of emotions, good and bad, that this group has for each other you can't help but have some fireworks going on.
I am happy to report that this book does NOT end on a major cliffhanger. What? How is that even possible right? We are so used to it now days that I was like, wait, really? But yes, we have an ending that leaves you comfortable and yet ready for the next book. An ending that gives you a little bit of peace. Now we wait for December to see this group put all their talents together and unleash hell on the monsters in their world.
Like a funhouse in the dark - what’s next around each corner?
First, where can I find an Ollie? He is the epitome of the loyal, loving, and protective guy, and you can’t forget his spiciness! Whew! This book picks up right where we were left last and it doesn’t slow down. Oliver will always place Eden above any and every thing else and he doesn’t hesitate to show this and his complete devotion and support at every turn. Alaric & Leo have destroyed what they began building with Eden and she has all intentions of making them feel the same way - for them to fully understand what they did to her. She’s lost so much control in her life that she needs it now to stay sane, completely understandable. While trying to get her revenge on A & L though, other parts and pieces are continuing in play, including another deep betrayal that will send all four of them reeling when demands are made of Eden. There are so many moving parts and layers to this evil secret society that every move causes ripples that it’s hard to know what the results will be. However, some pieces to the puzzle of Dee’s death and leading up to it are finally discovered and those findings are huge. How are all of the answers going to be discovered while avoiding the different situations that keep getting thrown at them? I’m glad I’ve already preordered Broken Truths because I can’t wait to discover the truth and see how it’s handled.
***Spoilers/Slight Spoilers: I’m glad that that A & L realized what they’ve done, how they feel, and have given their trust and loyalty to Eden. Alaric’s way of making it up wasn’t too severe but was a way to prove the truth Edie desperately needs. Leo’s journey though - wow, my heart almost broke for him multiple times. The guy who’s been raised & conditioned by monsters and where love, compassion, or empathy isn’t felt really had to go through the gamut to learn he could be vulnerable to Edie and the guys, but it was excruciating at times. Although the guys aren’t fully okay with each other, they’re all dedicated to Edie so I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds with the four of them working together to find answers.
OMG this is one of the most incredible stories I have ever read! Lovely Deceit has consumed me, taken over my life so that nothing could be done until I had finished. The ending wasn't as bad as the previous book but leaves your heart racing with anxious anticipation waiting for Broken Truths.
Betrayed, scared, confused beyond doubt, Eden no longer knows who she can trust but as hard as the Knight of Arcadia have tried to break her they haven't. Eden is the most focused, determined, relentless girl ever, nothing and no one is going to stop her from finding out the truths. All the truths including the secrets that Alaric and Leo have been keeping from her.
And as always Prince Oliver will be right by her side, her most trusted confidant. His devotion and acceptance of Eden, his utter belief that they will end up together, his unwavering loyalty no matter his ow beliefs on the matter and his desire to protect Eden at all costs had my heart melting into a puddle.
I really enjoyed the character development for all the characters especially the boys as Eden teaches them all a lesson, some harsher than the rest. All of the authors characters have layers upon layers to the personalities, characteristics and behaviour that make them so complexly intriguing. Each of them is so uniquely different and yet there is still a common enemy to be found. In the end, once Eden has made Alaric and Leo pay for their sins, once they truly know what they did/ didn't do theres is a level of understanding and acceptance between them that makes all their struggles worth it.
Lovely Deceit is a thrilling cocktail of mystery, rage-inducing misogynistic, self-entitled men that believe they are the most powerful men to ever walk the Earth, hiding behind their special elite boys club. The darker take on a secret society leaves your heart-racing and adrenaline pumping. But the main theme is about control, Eden, Alaric, Oliver and Leo have all had it stolen from them and only by working together can they get it back for good.
Omg what did I just read!!! This book has left me in a major book hangover now which of course I knew it would seen as Erin's books always do. Lovely deceit starts off exactly where the first book left off which if you haven't read it leaves you with a major cliffhanger! Edie is such a strong character and even after what she went through in book 1 it brings her out stronger than ever along with her most loyal follower and the boy that has always been beside her Oliver. I love how edie and Oliver relationship develops in this book and how protective her is of her, he would literally put his self in danger to protect her and she can finally see that. Edie is still trying to find out exactly what happened to her sister and she won't stop until she does even if the knights make it hard for her. After alaric and Leo just stood there and watched what happened to edie at the end of book one they have some seriously making up to do but not before edie gets her revenge on them. I loved how alaric knew he had done wrong straight away and eventually made it up to her but Leo is completely different at first, he couldn't just admit what he had done so edie had to go that bit further to make him. I actually felt so sorry for Leo in this book and at some points I just wanted to give him a cuddle myself as he was going through so much hate all the time. I hate jarvis so much and I hope he gets his comeuppance soon enough after everything he has said and done to both Edie and Leo. I loved that the ending of this book has left me wanting so much more but hasn't left me devastated, there are so many twists and turns that literally come out if nowhere and more questions arise. I can not wait to see what happens in the final book but I know it will be amazing just like this book was
Ok I’m sure I’m gonna be going against the grain here but Eden seriously??
What happened at the end of the last book was awful. I get she wants revenge. And I feel Alarics was kinda justified. But what happened to Leo??? Sorry but no! Firstly how stupid do you have to be to NOT have suspected him to be spying on you?? It’s his grandfather!! Like come on!! Stop being so damn stupid! Also like she said he always treated her like an asahole so why be so surprised??
What keeps getting to me is that she’s surprised that this group keep doing horrible and horrific things when the reason she is there is because she suspects they killed her sister??? Like seriously come on! Her and Oliver’s relationship I just find a bit annoying. He absolutely loves her with all his heart. She is his soulmate - he would rip his own heart out for her. That I completely believe. But from her I just feel deep down it’s different. She does love him. And they have the most loving friendship, she actually makes love with him. But I don’t think she would ever put him first. For me I always feel like he’s this comfort that she knows is always there. But he would never be enough for her.
With Alaric I’m still not exactly sure what the draw is she has with him. But he definitely has strong feels for her.
As for Leo! Man I love Leo! He’s been groomed by a monster his whole life. During his childhood, when most vulnerable he experienced such horror. Personally I feel the reason why Eden is so hurt by him is because she has a love for him beyond what she has with the others. It’s animalistic, he’s her mate for life.
I think one of the things that’s just really holding me back from absolutely loving this series is the FMC. There’s just something about her that keeps getting on my nerves and it’s so frustrating!!
E M Moore has taken character development to another level in this book and I was here for every second desperate for each and ever morsal. The Knights have solidified my hate for them, their lacking morals and utter brutality.
Eden owned this book, she owned her the pain of her betrayal and turned it into a lust for vengeance and desire to see Alaric and Leo pay. Pay for the way they've treated her, pay for their secrets, their lack of action howntheuve used her. Together with Ollie they make it happen and bring about a change in their group dynamic through power plays, degregation and lust.
Ollie is ever the most loyal, strong and faithful friend, his bond with Eden only strengthens and intensifies and I absolutely love them conspiring together. Alaric throws a man paddy of epic proportions, and gets thrown to the wolves for it but on the balance he pulls it back. He has to go beyond anything he'd have expected to earn back Edens trust. Leo you want to hate him but honestly I love him. He is seriously broken, shattered and crushed to dust his fragments disintegrating day by day under his grandfather feet. His punishment is both physically and mentally horrific but in the end it is the most amazing catalyst for him. The resounding affects change the course of not only his life but affects him at a soul deep level.
I absolutely adore the four of them, they are now a force united, a force focused and a force on the verge on something big. I need more from these guys like yesterday.
Starting this series, I loved it! Ending it on the other hand was a tad anticlimactic.
This why-choose revolves around Eden, a grieving college student hell bent on avenging her sister, whom she believes to have been murdered and covered up by a secret society. Her plan is to join their ranks herself, all the while gathering intel on what really happened. During her pledge, she is thrown in with a group of men that eventually all become her lovers.
One of my favorite aspects of a reverse harem where the MMCs were NOT already in an established friend group, is that it allows for multiple tropes and relationship dynamics for the FMC (friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and professor & student). I thoroughly enjoyed the romantic buildups of each coupling, and how each love interest connected with her differently.
I will say, however, that I definitely lost momentum in the final chapters of the last book. Sometimes a series ends up feeling too long and played out by the time you get to the conclusion, and I felt like I was forcing my way through it just to mark it as complete. I was also a little bothered by a few dead end plot points, albeit they were smaller bits and ended up inconsequential, but they left me wondering why they were stressed to begin with (such as the paternity test “favor”, it was brought up so many times I was CONVINCED it was hinting at a major event or secret being revealed when it really was just a side quest).
Well, this book thankfully picked up right where we left off. Eden is broken, Oliver is her savior and rock. Leo and Alaric now have to spend the book sucking up and mending the bridge they broke.
The society seems to rank higher than relationships, and it showed with the choices made by Leo and Alaric. This book focuses more of Eden’s revenge against Alaric and Leo. While we definitely get to dig a little more into her sisters murd€r, we need those bridges and relationships mended before proceeding. The bits of info we do get, definitely made me have assumptions about WHO did it!
All that said, WTF is wrong with the men in this society, including Eden’s father? Like hello, that lunch with the Forbes family where they are now trying to marry Eden to her dead sisters ex-fiancé….. 😳. Thank goodness for Leo’s overprotectiveness.
All three men step up majorly in this book. I understood her forgiving the men, what I don’t understand is why she gave Leo a much harder time, and didn’t forgive as quickly. Especially considering he went looking and Alaric didn’t. Also, I have a soft spot for Leo so that may be altering my views….. Plus in this book we start to get more, and now no one is left out. We haven’t got a whole group together, but with the ending how it was, I think they may have found their happy family.
Would highly recommend this series. It is not yet complete, plus I would suggest reading Hush Hush by E. M. Moore as well since it the background as to WHY Eden is doing what she is doing.
⚠️ darker themes, murd€r, abu$e, ass@ult and dub-con ⚠️
Eden is able to survive being dropped into the water that drowned her sister and together with Oliver they are more determined to bring down the Knights and find out the truth of Delilah's demise. More information is slowly revealed about that night and new suspects emerge. Eden is starting to become aware of how much Sir Jarvis is in control of everything.
After the events at the beginning of the book Alaric and Leo are in Eden's bad books and if they want to get back on her side they need to prepare to grovel hard, but not before she dishes out her own form of revenge.
I love Oliver and Eden's relationship in this book. They are fully committed to each other and he realises that she will never stop until she gets her closure and he is determined to stand by her side throughout. Leo has a lot of growth in this book and by the end I feel like he has finally seen that he needs to change for the better. Alaric and Eden finally come to an understanding and after revealing secrets I can see how well they will work together in the next book to get the answers that they need.
Overall, this book was really good. I can't wait to read the next one to finally find out what happened to Delilah on that night.
One. Click. Series. 👏 I Love EM Moore’s writing and will always recommend her to everyone. I was lucky enough to meet her this evening and fangirled hard! She not only writes some of my favourite series but she’s lovely in person too. If you’re up to date in this world then you will love this one, if not start with Hush Hush asap.
Back into this world and two of the guys are starting out firmly in the doghouse. Oliver is once again the most trusted and loyal of the harem but Leo and Alaric are slowly making their way up the list. I cannot wait to get to know them all more. When I got to a certain chapter in this book my brain was like ‘yessssss….finally 👏 👏 👏’ - you’ll understand when you get there 🤷🏻♀️ Leo is the tatted bad boy with a whole bunch of issues so he’s a clear winner in my book boyfriends list and there’s so much more to the sexy professor. Alaric and Eden have the age gap/ maybe taboo relationship of the group but I’m loving the chemistry. I’m really enjoying these relationships and I cannot wait to see a certain Knight meet his downfall. The storyline for this has me questioning so much and I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds. There is some heat in the first two books but I’m ready for it to be dialled all the way up in book three.
Book 2 picks right up from book 1. Oliver once again proving how far he’s willing to go to protect Eden. His love for her is incredible, this man will do everything to protect her and be there for her. I loved seeing that as much as Oliver loves and wants Eden to be his, he can also see how much she wants Alaric and Leo and is ok with it. Alaric and Leo finally admit their secrets. So now cards are on the table with everyone, and they’re all on the same side. Which is what they need to be to take down the Knights and Leo’s grandfather. I understand Eden being mad and hurt about what Leo and Alaric did, but I don’t like how she went about getting revenge on Leo. The more I learned about his past my heart hurt for him- big time. And he even codified a little about his past with her and she still went ahead with her revenge. Also I was really upset how she came on to Leo at the the engagement party and wanted s€x in front of Ann-Marie, but then got mad because he didn’t react how she wanted him to. I finished book 2 in about 3 hours and now I’m onto book 3! Can’t wait for the conclusion, I’m dying to find out what really happened to Eden’s sister! I’m definitely starting to have some suspicions.
Once again EM has blown me away with another phenomenal book, a story with characters that have become so very real to me. If you haven't already then definitely begin this series. Like the previous books, Lovely Deceit has sent my mind spinning, running through all different scenarios of what happened & what will come next. I'm so completely invested in Edie's and her guys story and even some of the side characters. If anything, I love Eden even more in this book and the guys are a perfect mix. Just like the first book, WOWZER is this book steamy... I will never look at glass bottles the same again *fans myself off & drools*. With every couple of chapters as you get to know the guys more and more, my favourite seems to flit. I loved seeing getting to learn more about them and see how they are after the events in book 1. I loved seeing how the dynamics have slowly started changing between them and I can't wait for more. Really looking forward to the next book! Must read!
This is the second book in the Pretty Little Dead Girl Series, and for real, these books just keep getting more and more intriguing! It is fantastic.
I am so absolutely loving this story! It is such a kick a$$ read! The characters are incredible and complex and the storyline is intriguing, emotional, steamy, and suspenseful. I am addicted!
My heart broke for Ollie at the beginning, he is such a genuine sweetheart, he loves Eden and wants so badly to keep her safe.
By the end I was hurting for Leo, I feel like he is so misunderstood and no one really knows why he acts like he does, and now for the first time in his life he is falling in love and he doesn’t know how to feel or act, and it never fails that his actions are wrong.
That all being said, Eden and her three guys’ relationships go through some definite changes in this book.
In my opinion, this book and series are 100% Must Reads and I highly recommend them. I am extremely excited to see what happens in the next book!
The type of book that you just want to read and ignore all of your responsibilities. Lovely Deceit picked up right where Pretty Secrets left off and I was immediately sucked in.
In this one, Eden is feeling betrayed and decides to take back control. She is honestly so ballsy and I enjoyed every minute of her payback.
Even though I love Alaric & Leo ( oh Leo, I really felt bad for him in this book) I have to shoutout Oliver and Eden's relationship. Total friends to lovers & completely adorable. They don't always see eye to eye all the time but no matter what destruction is going on around them they always have eachother. & Oliver's devotion to Eden?! Swoon.
Overall, expect jaw dropping moments/revelations, more secrets, and major thriller mystery vibes. We definitely get more of an in depth look into the secret society, Knights of Arcadia. It's as cutthroat as ever and I am so excited for Eden to finally get revenge and justice.
