Blitzen Bay #2

No One Wants That

Rate this book
A steamy romantic comedy.

A newly single woman who’s just looking for a good time. A chronic playboy who’s finally ready to settle down. A small mountain town with an animated cast of citizens to help them figure it all out.

“Excuse me while I finish fanning myself and massaging my facial muscles from smiling so much. While I've loved all of the books Donna has written so far.. this one might have taken the top spot. I couldn't get enough of Butch and Kit's banter and smoking sexual tension.” Goodreads Review

Kit
There are two things you should know about me up front. First, my boyfriend broke up with me a minute before I left on vacation. Second, I’m a huge fan of the rebound man. Huge fan. Someone so dangerously sexy that he’ll make me forget everything for a night. No feelings. Just straight-up lust.

Butch
After my last breakup, I made a new set of rules—no feelings and absolutely no commitment. I haven’t slipped up once in five years. Here’s the problem. My two best buddies just got into serious relationships. They’re so happy that I think it might be time to revisit my rules and start hunting for Ms. Right.

Kit
I’m only a few hours into my trip when a rebound candidate presents himself. And he’s perfect for the job—a little rough around the edges, a devilish sense of humor, and a body so burly that I could lose myself in it for hours. Ding, ding, ding. I think I just found my Mr. Wrong.

“What a fun story! I’m so glad Butch got his own book. Lots of cute banter and a sweet ending. Donna Schwartze makes it easy to fall in love with her characters and leaves us wanting to know what happens next!” Goodreads Review

"No One Wants That is one of my favorite books! This was Butch’s time to shine and did he ever! Bad boy image but a man with a heart of gold! We can’t help but fall in love with him! Kit is the perfect soulmate for this man! She makes me laugh! This book is the perfect romantic read! Steamy and yet funny! I can’t wait to see what their future holds!" Amazon Review

I loved writing this book because I LOVE BUTCH. Can I say that about my own character? He's so much fun to write. In past books, he's been the comic relief. This time he gets his chance at love. I hope it works out for him. 😬

I think I found my new favorite couple! Butch and Kit are amazing together. The banter, the personalities, just them two together is just perfect! Butch is so protective of himself and others. Kit is so caring and kind. I really loved seeing all the characters together again in Blitzen Bay. I got a kick out of the lake scene (you will have to read it to find out) I was sad to see Sam selling Blitzen Bay especially to whome he was going to sell it to but it all worked out in the end. (Again have to read the book to find out what happened) definitely recommend picking this up! Can't wait for the next one!

Always SO easy to fall in love with Donna’s characters and writing. I love the intermingling of each series’ characters with one another so you get a good peak at what some of your faves are up to. I was a bit skeptical that I would like Kit’s story but between her and Butch there is nothing but 😍 for me. Can’t wait to continue on!

No One Wants That  (Blitzen Bay) by Donna Schwatze, ahhhhhh yes finally Butch has a book. I’ve loved Butch since the first book Eight Years. Im so happy that Butch finally get to find love too as they say  there is someone perfect out there for everyone.

"𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙙𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤," 𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨, 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙨.

So in this book we get Butch and kits story, can these two be anymore perfect for each other, they both cracked me up, I had tears of laughter reading this book. For though’s that have read the previous books of Donna’s. We know Butch is the tough and retired Seal, but we all know his full of his baiter and jokes and the play boy of the group and we love it. Between us he is a big softy specially when it comes to the groups girls and kit he will do anything to protect them and the ones he cares for. Butch hasnt had much luck with love being married and divorced twice. But when he meets Kit things begin to change for him and her. Kit we met in The Runaway Bride Elle cousin, she is so wild and bubbly and basically goes for it, I love her spirit. With all the old gang back again in Blitzen Bay this was full of fun and laughter, and also the return of some not so friendly characters, can the gang pull together to save the day.

" 𝙄 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮, 𝙆𝙞𝙩. 𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙪𝙮."

These books just get better and better with each one, I can't get enough of them, This book has Butch and Kits POVs, so we get both sides, I couldnt stop reading this one. It was such a page turner, each chapter I was like right I’ll stop here, a hr later I’ve finished the book. Again, these characters' personalities are perfect and love the gang. I can't wait for the next book as always, I'm counting the days down already.

Tropes: love triangle, insta-attraction/insta-lust, found family friend group, protective man

Another breezy read from Donna Schwartze!

I was excited to see what happened with Kit’s story. Kit and Butch are adorable together, and I liked Butch a lot. Seeing all of the friends groups from all of Donna’s series comes together in this book was a fun experience! And once again, the side characters that live in Blitzen Bay were so fun and lovable. BB1 was fairly sweet - no spice whatsoever, but this one was a bit steamier! That was a nice surprise. Butch & Kit’s chemistry was fun.

My negatives for this book come from the tropes - “love triangle” is one of my least favorite tropes. While there was technically no physical or emotional cheating happening here, I would have loved to see just a bit more time between the end of her last relationship and her starting a new one. Also not a huge fan of instalove, but I know in short books like this that’s kind of a given, so I’m not mad about it.

Overall: a fun, flirty, and fast read! Good dialogue and friendships. I read this one in a day, so it’s a perfect palette cleanser or quick romance read, if you’re looking for that.

I like Donna Schwatrz writing and love all these characters connecting from one book to another. The. couples are really fun. That being said, this is probably my least favorite out of all of the pairings. They got together too quickly and I feel like I didn't have time to adjust to all the changes they made within a week. I think I just wish it was a little longer so the reader could have more info and detail about Butch and Kit.

Even though they're my least favorite of the pairings, Kit and Butch have a great connection and their supportive group of friends help them overcome their fears about relationships and just jump into something that feels right.

So the story begins with Kit breaking off relationship with her boyfriend, Mateo, who gives her an. ultimatum after she asks him to leave Spain and move to LA with her. She comes home brokenhearted to her best friend. and cousin, who brings her along on a (basically) couples trip to Blitzen Bay. Meanwhile, Butch, a tough secret softy who is 37 and single, is roped into the trip as well. Seeing everyone he knows in love brings him to the conclusion that he wants what they have. He's done some crazy things, but has decided that he wants to settle down and have a family.

When they all get to Blitzen Bay, Kit decides to go on a hike, while dressed in super hardcore hiking clothes- a sundress and sandals. Butch ends up rescuing her from a lake, and helps her back to the inn, but not without a lecture. The pair realize they have crazy chemistry, and Kit's spitfire personality might be exactly what Butch needs. Kit gets the horny sweats around Butch and puts herself out there to him, but gets a kiss on the head and brief "goodnight".

There are times in books that I go crazy, because one tiny bit of communication could save all the characters basically ALL the drama and hurt. I mean, duh, the tension there is what makes a book more interesting, but as a human... I just can't handle it.

My fixes of Butch and Kit's communication issues:

when Kit is hoping to kiss Butch at her door-"Kit, I really like you, but I'm looking for something serious right now. If you're down to date me, I would love to take you out and get to know you, but no matter how much I want to sleep with you, I can't only do it for one night."

when Butch doesn't seek Kit out all day and then sees her upset- "Hey! I've missed you all day. I had to fill up the boat with gas and shit but I wished I was with you."

when Mateo shows up- *immediately pulls Butch aside* "Butch, this is Mateo and he's leaving. Don't doubt our relationship because it's so real for me and I love you. I need to get him to leave so hang tight."

No One Wants That - is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy. A newly single woman who’s just looking for a good time. A chronic playboy who’s finally ready to settle down.

Excuse me while I finish fanning myself and massaging my facial muscles from smiling so much. I think this book gave me my own sex sweats.

While I've loved all of the books Donna has written so far.. this one might have taken the top spot. Butch, Butch, Butch what more can I say?

I couldn't get enough of Butch and Kits banter and smoking sexual tension. And it was so fun to have all the rest of the characters from the other stories together in one.

So grateful to be a part of Donna's ARC team! You'll want to hurry and get caught up because the next book, Leave it on the Field, is out in August!

Donna writes the best stories!! They way she ties the characters together from the other books is amazing. I really loved this book!

Butch has been a favorite character of mine since I read the Trident Trilogy and Raine Out. He’s all tough on the outside, fiercely protective of his people but also kind and loving.

Kit is at a crossroads in her life and makes a trip to Bitzen Bay to visit her cousin. Little does she know - trying to pet a baby raccoon will change her life! Lol

I loved that all the characters made appearances in this book and we got an update on each one. Donna writes the best characters…they are funny, loving and have the best banter - between all of them.

Looking forward to the next book!

I received a complimentary copy and I am leaving my honest review.

I love Butch & Kit’s characters, so I enjoyed reading more about how their relationship started. They seem perfect for each other and have some good chemistry as well. Butch has is tough SEALS exterior, but also has his sweet and caring side towards the people he loves. He’s so sweet with baby Mo, so excited to see him with his own baby. Kit is definitely stubborn and quirky in her own way, while keeping Butch on his toes. Blitzen seems like the dream Vacation town for a romantic getaway…along with it being filled with great people.

I can’t get enough

Butch may be my new favorite! He’s so tender and sweet but lord when I picture him in my mind — let me stop. What a great story. Different from
The others but it still has all my favorite characters. Kit reminds me of so many of my Georgia friends. Butch does as well. You threw in the Georgia Bulldogs thing, so the author may be my new favorite person. I enjoyed this one and cannot wait until Book 3. I want this friend group to be my friend group. Personable and lovable. Honestly I love these characters.

Expected more

This isn't a "steamy" romance, in my opinion. There's one scene that happens about 60% in. The constant pissing matches between the men became annoying after the 3rd time. The group of friends were unbelievably nosy, haggling questions out of someone you just met is off-putting. I read this book to fulfill a prompt for a reading challenge and do not plan to read more from this author.

What can I say about Butch and Kit? She keeps him on his toes and he’s the kind of man she needs in her life. Her ex boyfriend didn’t know Kit as well as he thought, giving her an ultimatum because he diver want to change his ways was the wrong move on his end. It would seem that the little town of Blitzen Bay was made for love stories that one dreams of.

I only read this bc i had it - same review as the first book in the series:

This is probably great for teens - I found the writing and character development juvenile

A fun read tho - cringey at parts but good story line

What's not to love about this book I definitely had my Butch fix. Him and Kit really do make a great match. But I think all the female characters are strong women. I definitely wouldn't want a face off with either Raine or Millie. Loved meeting all the old characters.

I liked this less than the first one of the series. There was more spice, but also more cursing and I just didn't buy the chemistry between the main characters like I usually do in books. I'll still read the third book when it comes out, but not sure I love this author.

Donna’s stories are the best. I loved that the whole “family” was together in this one and that Butch finally found his perfect match. Dual perspectives and heavy dialogue which I love. Quick read that kept me turning pages.
