Cedric was thrown away by his family on his 18th birthday because of his omega status. He isn't as strong or quick as other lion shifters, and was therefore seen as useless by his old pride. He may also bear children, which his family saw as a crime against nature. When he was cast out, he found a new family made up of a rag-tag group of men who were all shunned by their old prides, but who loved each other fiercely.
Cedric is a sweet soul who loves to take care of the people he's close to. He's a bit of a 'mother hen', fussing over his friends and making sure everyone is fed and happy. He's as bright and bubbly as his pink hair, though a sassy streak runs deep within him.
When Fate puts him in the path of his mate, Cedric is quick to meet his needs, from keeping his man fed to boosting his confidence. But sweet Cedric has a need as well - he loves to spoil his mate, but he craves for a man to take control of his body and make him feel cherished in a very special way. His mate Asher is just the man for the job.

Asher, once a Dom-extraordinaire, is battling a bout of bad luck. He was laid off from his job and is having trouble finding employment. He's being hard on his physical appearance, doubting his abilities, and his flirt game is all but non-existent. He hasn't had the confidence to even approach a boy for some time.
But lucky for him, a sassy, beautiful boy approaches Asher one day, looking like an animal. Asher needs to dig deep, remember who he is, and trust his bubble-gum-pink-haired beauty to finally claim his forever happiness.

*This insta-love M/M book is full of laughs, sweetness, and steamy BDSM elements. It features a sweet and sassy lion shifter and his Dom who needs a confidence boost. It has no cheating or cliffhangers, and a very happy HEA!

I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!

It was supposed to give but it did not give what needed to be gave, to the highest of giving. — Doja Cat

I was super looking forward to Cedric’s story in this series because I love a size difference and he was an omega! As far as I knew Marx hadn’t ever written mpreg or omegaverse before and I was curious what her foray into that would look like as it came apart of this particular shifter world.

Uh… but unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well. Cedric himself is sweet and cute, and I liked him as a character. Asher however felt like his only personality trait was being insecure and then randomly Very Dommy. The instalove was traditional Marx but it didn’t have the usual magic her work has for me. The pacing because of the length of the book just felt off.

BDSM wise, I didn’t find the sex scenes very steamy at all. There was surprise daddy kink (which I don’t mind but important to let your readers know), and there was a use of a switch and the fact that Cedric had no limits? What? I dunno. It did NOT work for me.

As for the omegaverse and mpreg aspect. Honestly, it didn’t impact a thing. Yes, Cedric eventually gets pregnant but we don’t even see the sex scene or anything for that. Just a minimal mention in the epilogue. Oh, and the blurb doesn’t say this has mpreg. Why? Marx, you need to advertise properly to your readers so they know!

Anyway… yeah. This was a huge disappointment because I was really looking forward to this. It didn’t even really have the same humor that Redemption had. I know Marx has had a rough time lately so maybe that’s why things were off, but I’d rather wait a few months for a good book than read stuff that’s not up to par.

Aww....

Yall, I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did.

Slight spoilers

Ok so this picks up right after the first story, after they have gone to the con. Cedric, an omega, finds his mate in the grocery store, which makes sense. Asher is a human Dom/Daddy who is down on his luck after losing his job and is buying soup.

These two meet and shazam! Insta-everything.

Asher has some unkind thoughts about himself and tried to sneak away to protect Cedric, but Cedric and the whole pride chase him down in lion forms. They mate after knowing each other less than a day while in the dirt road and we end with a pregnancy announcement.

I thought every bit of this was perfect.

I don’t want to be harsh because Redemption was so funny and cute and I was really excited for Submission. But I just didn’t love this. The sex scenes didn’t work for me at all, I don’t enjoy the trope of “I’m leaving because I don’t deserve you” (though it only lasted a few minutes), and I’m not sure I liked how the BDSM (Daddy but not really? No hard limits?) aspects were done. Good points were the glimpses of pack life, Caleb’s cooking, and they had a couple sweet moments.

A little short

The story was a little short and I felt I needed a little bit more pages, like maybe 100 pages or 110 rather than 60 something it had. I felt like all they did was the hanky-panky and I’m okay with that, but I need some plot. So too short and not enough plot.

This was an okay read but ultimately felt like a nothing book, as in that nothing seemed to matter much. I get that it's instalove, but kink and mpreg and lion shifters and omegas and shifter religion and fated mates all being introduced in a day just felt so rushed, and there were minimal thoughts and discussions about most of it. I liked Asher, but I didn't feel like I actually got the chance to explore the characters beyond the surface.

The good
+ Asher's insecurity. I love characters who come out of their shells and find themselves
+ Cedric doing whatever he can to prove Asher's worth
+ The pride's acceptance of Asher

The neutral
o Surprise Daddy kink
o What was Cedric's lion supposed to look like? Like such a young lion who only has a tuft of mane yet, and those mane were pink, or did he have full mane with just a streak of pink? Either would look really weird

The bad
- Asher was supposed to be the Daddy, but he didn't take care of Cedric at all. Hell, . Kink requires good communication, and Asher had zero communication skills
- Cedric said he had no hard limits at all. What?
- Asher's limits weren't even discussed
- The sex scene in the woods was not enjoyable at all, just weird and awkward
- Don't have children if you can't fully commit to them. Asher was not ready to have a child

This book was disappointing all over. Cedric was more of a Daddy than Asher was, because clearly Asher couldn't be left unsupervised. I didn't have faith in their relationship at all. The kink aspect also fell flat. Would not recommend.

3.4 for my baby Cedric. If i could rate this book a 5 i would. But, it was triggering for me, so i can't rate higher than this.

So i read this bcuz i love the character of Cedric. When i met him in Twintution, he turned out to be my fav even though he was just a side character. So obviously i wanted to read his story! And i read it only for him. So i recommend this for anyone who loves a body positivity story, bcuz it's a very good insta love/ fated mates, mpreg shifter story. Fluffy all the way through.

Starring my character CEDRIC, as Cedric!!! 😭🥺🥺🥺 Character and image is my own, made for review purpose only.

♦ i love, love LOVE Ceddy to bits and pieces. He was so gentle, he accepted Asher- with all his flaws. This is a very good acceptance book. i loved how he could be a sub one minute and then get all bratty and tell Asher not to be self loathing bcuz he's perfect just the way he is. And this is the positive way to deal with such a sensitive issue, imo.

♦ It's so nice to see that the omegas in this world is not treated as filth or property. In fact, Cedric is the heart and soul of this group. He loves to take care of his friends and always cooking for them and that's the principle way he connected with Asher.

This is a ME issue. i just could not vibe with it fully, bcuz i could not vibe with Asher. i don't want to read about something like this. This very saying can be triggering for others and i sincerely apologise for this.

i tried my best to ignore my gripe and focus on just Ceddy. So i read this only for him and skipped many parts. Also i only read the fluffy bits and skipped large parts bcuz it got pretty triggering every time Asher's body was described, or his desire to eat everything Ceddy made for him.

There was no indication that he was a large gentleman of the other kind, neither in the blurb nor in TT. Otherwise i would've skipped this, despite it being Ceddy's story. It said he was dealing with body image issues and that, though less triggering, i can work with. It's there, but i'm just happy that Ceddy accepted him fully. That was beautiful. But it's just not my kinda story. Sorry.

i know i'll skip 3 of this series as i don't read single dad/ 2nd chance stories. i will do my due diligence from now on, so that i can provide better reviews. Thank you.

Asher et Cedric

Alpha et omega
Soumission

Courte Nouvelle

📖

Oh Cedric!

I love this group of fun loving lions and little human! I enjoy these books when I need a pick me up and Jayda delivers. The books are quick with live and integration into the Pride. I like the super sweet mates and how they instantly fall for each other so quickly. Cedric is a loving caregiver for the Pride just waiting for his mate whom he hopes can be a Daddy. Asher is a down on his luck human that just wants a job and happens to look like a super cuddly teddy bear type. He is self conscious about his body as it has gotten a little fluffy since his lay off from work. His way of thinking changes in aisle 9 when the cutie with bubblegum pink hair struts up to him and states he will cook for him that night. This is just another sugary sweet, insta love story that is a good read.

Cedric and Asher

This was a super cute and super quick read. Cedric has been the most intriguing character of this series so far. Especially since he is the only omega in a house of alphas. Asher has no idea the shifters even exist and is blown away when Cedric spills the beans. Still, their ultra quick courtship was cute and mostly satisfying.

I didn’t love the whole scene that took place, basically, in the middle of the road toward the end of the book. I mean, really? It was a little weird.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series and following along with the ongoing story arc between Cedric and Asher.

"Cedric’s words set my blood on fire. I wanted him the moment that I laid eyes on him, but now that I knew him; knew his soul and that we were truly made to be together, I desired him on a level I’d never experienced." ~Asher~
I feel like if this book was longer it could have been great. I usually really love insta-love and fated mates. Most of my go to reads are like that. This story though fell flat. The storyline felt choppy with no real plot or depth at all. I felt like at the end of the story I was left wanting more and no I didn't feel the connection between Asher and Cedric or their love for one another, everything felt awkward and forced.

The 'gut' is never wrong. Cedric, is a rock! I love the dynamics of the found pride and all the guys make me want to rush out and real all the books! Asher, is perfect. He is probably the most human character I've read in a long time. Cedric's flirt is top notch. He absolutely charmed Asher and made him step up his game. Their journey was an absolute hoot. I like that Asher was not steorotypically perfect, but was perfect for Cedric. They are one of the most fun couple's I've read in a long time. Asher, carried a lot of baggage accumulated recently due to his altered circumstances. Cedric, helped balance the load. Excellent story. Fantastic characters and extended found family. Well done!

Eh. 2.5 at best

Boring. It isn't even "insta-love" because I got no actually emotions at all from either poorly written character. They had two partial conversations and had sex. The sex scene wasn't even good! The whole thing was just slapped together with nothing. No plot, no development, no emotion. If the author can't be bothered to care then how the heck are we supposed to?

Jayda Marx used to be an instant buy for me but more and more she just doesn't care. Going from Head over Wheels to this? So disappointed. Probably won't be buying anymore jayda Marx books.

Outstanding

This book is so cute. The way Cedric and Asher met wants me to go to the store more often. Lol. This book shows us how size doesn't matter to love. Asher was unhappy with his body but Cedric loved his body.
The way Cedric had to show Asher what he was, was funny and terrifying.
Jayda Marx did it again. An amazing read. I can't wait for the next book to come out. This is a must read. Don't forget to read the first book ( Redemption ). Love Lions.

A hesitant Daddy. A nurturing boy. A match made by Fate.

This is turning out to be one great series! I am already so invested in these lions. Each of them feel so real. It felt like coming home. I love Cedric! Pride cook and mother hen. He knows Asher is his mate the moment he sees him. Though human, he knows Cedric is special. Their attraction is as immediately intense as it is inevitable. Come. Join them on the way to HEA. And when Cedric & the Pride reveal their lions...wow! You are gonna love this book! I can't wait for the next one.

pheew i feel like i should've loved this one but i really didn't. asher was such a sweet character, but he wasn't well fleshed out at all and the book was way too short for any form of character development. i also feel like the auhtor doesn't understand what bdsm is or how it should work. it feels like the characters have a swith that gets turned on "kinky" every time they have sex. and why does cedric have no hard limits? thats a huuuge warning sign

Submission is the second book in the Lions of Locus Falls series and follows the story of Cedric and Asher. The book isn't very long and contains fated mates, insta-love, and mpreg. The book is really well written, super cute and I love all the side characters. Overall it is a really enjoyable, feel-good read.

Short and sweet

Another hot installment in the Lions of Locust Falls series. Cedric is the sweetheart mother-hen of the pride. I loved that he meets his fated mate at a grocery store. Asher is a sexy bear of a man, but is riddled with insecurities. Short, sweet, and hot instalove story.

Only one complaint

I feel like the end was left hanging. Had I known, I'd wait for the next story before reading. I only wish this was longer.

I love how Jayda makes bigger guys "normal". This was true in this story. I love how fate doesn't care as well. Anything may go and often does.

This was truly an enjoyable read. I loved Asher and Cedric along with both of their personalities. I appreciated the scene where Asher was being chased down by the lion shifters. I found it to be so funny and cute somehow. The writing style of this author is excellent and this series is definitely captivating. Loved it. :) More please.

Fun read

I enjoy these books, but I always wish that they were longer.

I found it a bit funny that Cedric berates himself that he didn’t tell Asher about himself, and the pride, sooner when it had been less than 24 hours since they first met.

Enjoyable

I liked Asher and Cedric’s story! It was a fun addition to the series and, if there was any change I could wish for - if I was being greedy - would be for the book to be a bit longer as I enjoyed their dynamic. I’m looking forward to Hunter’s story next

Where’s a good place to meet your mate?
For Asher, a human, the best place may be the grocery store, especially if Cedric, a lion shifter, is shopping to cook for his pride! Enjoy their leap into passion!
