From the very start the author does an excellent job of reeling you in with the continued story of Emily Sanders and her journey to acclimate to her “new” life of freedom. Chasing Ghosts is well written and gives the reader a better perspective on the fact that freedom is NOT free and even the best service men and women are ultimately only human. A warning, there are some emotional parts of which you may need a tissue or your shirt sleeve. Either way, Chasing Ghosts is a fantastic read and I’m excited for the final book in the series.

It's been a while since I read the first book in the series, but Garcia's storytelling talent drew me right back in. She does a masterful job of portraying each character's emotions and state of mind. While Emily is making progress, she understands this is the beginning of a long, arduous journey. Yet she stands by her motto: Always Forward.

I'll be picking up books three and four soon. Anxious to see what happens next.

Highly recommended.

It was an incredible emotional rollercoaster. There was so much emotional conflict for each character! It had me feeling all types of emotions. Can’t wait to read the Carry On to see what happens to Emily and her family.

Pure, raw emotions of a POW family being reunited after YEARS of being separated. Adele Garcia delivers a beautiful sequel.

Every detail of the complications of a POW with several children from sexual assault being reunited with her family, including a husband who remarried after she had been declared dead all this time is just unbelievable. I found myself entranced with what happens next...what about this interaction...did she really do that?

Most importantly, the ending hit a realistic complexity I could never imagine myself facing. You must read this book and experience its wonderful, tragic, messy, life-altering words written by the strong author displaying her life experiences in fictional glory.
