사실 나도 좀 흑막 재질이란 말이지.
어쨌든 이렇게 시한부를 연기하면서 시간 끌다가
병도 치료하고, 돈 벌어서 도망치려 했는데...

"대륙의 모든 의원들을 불러. 내 며느리는 살아야 한다."
어... 아버님? 저는 버리는 패가 아니었나요?

"네가 죽으면 나는 무조건 따라 죽을 거야. 너 없는 세상에서 못 살아."
...남편? 너 원래 아버지 닮아서 아무도 사랑 안 하잖아?

어쩐지 세상이 내가 알고 있던대로 굴러가지 않는 것 같다.

Matilda dies in child birth, so Duke Kallaudin Icard becomes obsessed with dark magic to bring back his wife by rewinding time. He must gain power and access the imperial family to summon a devil to grant his wish. To stall the nobles suspicion he marries his son Evan to a fallen noble (Laria Rostri) after her parents die, knowing she has a terminal illness. Laria should die at the right time to allow him to remarry Evan to the first princess and complete his mission. And that is only part of the novel's plot... but since she possessed the time-limited extra Laria, our lead must find a way to twist fate and the plot to survive. Only as the years pass it is harder to stay distanced from her new family and enact her plan to secretly run away.

This is pretty standard for the fake novel isekai genre. It has obsessive love, insta-business success, fluffy moments, likable side characters, meddling with divinity and time, and redemption for most "villain" characters. There is not a lot of tension or angst. I appreciate just how bonkers the Icard family is and the evil cat. The light hearted and comedic elements land better than the serious ones over all. The reveal is heavy handed and awkward because it goes against the character motivations. Further, I wish there was more engagement between Laria and Evan for the happily-ever-after.

Read the manhwa version, titled “The Archvillain's Daughter in Law” or “ The Villain’s Daughter In Law has Limited Time.” It was fun, cute, and quite angst story. 🥹🫶🏻🥹 The side story was full of love and laughter. Their children; Arienne and Setnin were adorable. They resembled their parents in characters and in visual look. ❤️
