As a female leader who navigated leaving home at a very early age, going through Marine Corps boot camp, and climbing the corporate ladder, this book helps you think about your YOU-nique strengths, how to leverage them, how to make mistakes and how to learn from them. In addition, the book helps you learn to love yourself and your unique gifts, and how to appreciate gifts in other women to create companies, products, communities, and change in the world. Here is a sampling of topics we will explore in
1. Being You-niquely you. 2. What does nonconformance look like for you? 3. What does it mean to grow in the valleys? 4. What has your path looked like? Has it been straight? 5. How do you ‘stay present’ for the good, the bad, and the ugly? 6. How do you set down the armor? 7. Are you challenging yourself?
This is a book I wish had been written and available 40 years ago when I was starting out in a male dominated tech field. I appreciated a key message is that women do not need to emulate tough male managers but rather embrace our natural feminine tendencies to be kind, nurturing, inclusive and compassionate. Another key message is to especially build up other women we know. We need to help each other succeed practicing our amazing feminine powers. Enjoyed this book!
