Shadows of Passion

Rate this book
GLAMOUR

From the dizzying heights of her 40th-floor penthouse, jet-set beauty Silver Haddington reigned supreme over the symbols of her vulgar opulence -- sleek Jaguars, chic artworks, and clubsinger Eddie Eden, who was intent on becoming her sixth husband.

DECEIT

But Eden had left a wife behind on this climb to Silver's coveted tower. So they hired Ben Hale, a tough, attractive private eye, to escort the naive Mrs. Eden north. What did Eden want Hale to do? Nothing much. Just take his wife to bed.

PASSION

Alone in the majestic Smoky Mountains, the inevitable happened. Some would call it destiny -- but far from the wilds of Manhattan, a blazing passion grew from the sordid solution of a rich woman's lust and a driven man's impatience to reach the top.

Vivid descriptions, hilariously hyperbolic dialogue, and prose so over-the-top it should've been printed in purple ink; all adorning a delightfully soapy romance. Loses its way slightly at the end by giving priority to rich bitch Silver Haddington's redemption over the featured lovers' clinch. Still, it's an entertaining mix of sleazy shenanigans & sweet romance.
