This excellently written and prepared book fills a much-needed role in the academic study of the Baha'i Faith. My own starting point was Chapter 17: Science and Religion, by Steven Phelps. Not only was it satisfying in itself, but it naturally spurred my interest in several other chapters (papers) in quick succession, as the chain of ideas I was following tied in to the larger fabric of thought that makes up any such vital and vibrant faith community. Before I knew it, I found myself deeper in to the book, and certain that I would return to it again and again.
Even though most of the authors in this book have made their chapters available for separate download as reprints at no cost, the collection definitely has merit as a whole, worth browsing, making the purchase of this volume an investment of enduring value. I purchased the Kindle edition so that I could search texts and build a notebook.
