Amazing Anthology of Great Authors!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Anthology and recommend it to those considering it. I have reviewed each story in the anthology and they are found below:

Paying his Debts by Paula Acton

This is about a man who owes money for an unpaid drug debt. His Fiancee steps up to clean up his mess. For a Novell I felt that the story had depth and a good amount of character development. The heat factor was fantastic! Where the story cuts off makes sensed leaves me curious about what things could come. If this author publishes a full novel around these characters, I wouldn't hesitate to read it.

My only criticism is that at times the flow felt a little awkward, perhaps there was a bit too much explaining of circumstances at times.

I rate this story 4*

Sweet Sorrow: A star -Crossed Prequel novella by Dani Rene

What a great start to this series. This is a story of two mafia families that have a long history of hating one another. There are Romeo and Juliet vibes throughout and although there is no steam, the sexual angst is strong and foretelling of what is to come!

I can't wait to read the rest of the series! The author did a great job developing the plot of these worlds and leaves the reader wanting more.

I rate this story 5*

Black Clover: the Ryan Crime Family - A. Gorman

This story tells of how the Black Clover MC came to fruition and gave some context to the story at large. It was an easy read with some steam to it. I enjoyed the story but it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

I rate this story 3.5*

Daring King: O'Dea Crime Family Novella by Elizabeth Knox & Emily Sharp

This story is about the O'Dea crime family. I have not read the other books and at first felt a bit out of sorts and lost but I enjoyed the story. I could tell that this novella held important pieces that would be needed for the series as a whole. After reading this, the rest of the series in now on my TBR list.

I rate this story 4*

Flight or Fight by Elle M. Thomas

Wow!! I want more of this story . . of this family! This is a quick paced steamy novella. I quickly fell for Carlo and Gia and could feel their emotions on the page. The story is one that a reader gets quickly immersed in. My only criticism is that it was not enough!

I rate this story 5*

Deceit for my Good Girl: A Bianucci Mafia Prequel by Rae B. Lake

This is more of a YA mafia novella. Full disclosure - I am not a huge fan of YA. With that being said, the story flows well, the characters are interesting and I enjoyed reading about them. The action builds up and at the end there is a bit of a cliff hanger. Not big enough to turn me off. The story is so good that when the rest is released, I will be reading them as well!

I rate this story a 4.5*

Sick Love by Cedar Rose

I haven't read anything by this author before and am generally reluctant to start a new author's work without hearing about them BUT am so glad this novella was included in the anthology!!! I loved Lucas and Freya. The reader should be aware that there are some trigger warnings that may be impactful for some - kidnapping, dubcon but they just add to the depth of this story. The tension between these two main characters is off the charts!!! I have already joined Cedar's readers group and want information about when the rest of this story is being released!!!

I rate this story 5*

3.5 stars - a good way to experience talented/new authors in this genre

ANTHOLOGY: yes
HUMOR: some
F BOMBS: yes
NEW AUTHORS FOR ME: yes, except one
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: knife play, alcohol, drugs, bloody, guns, torture, gory, raunchy, graphic violence, leashed, humiliation, kidnapping, attempted suicide

OVERALL:
1. Good way to experience talented/new to you? (definitely new for me) authors in this genre
2. Didn't care for the CLIFFHANGERS though - readers will buy this anthology and then spend more money to buy the other books to get the rest of the story

Mafia Romance Anthology: 7 stories (2 end in cliffhangers) in this book:

1. Paying His Debts: They meet to pay off a debt, sexy time, he wonders if they will cross paths again, then he finishes his mafia business for the night. Good story - would've liked more.

2. Sweet Sorrow: Interesting retelling of an Italian mafia Romeo & Juliet. FMC is 17 yrs old. Favorite quote: "Don't judge anyone before you know them. Some people do things to survive, others do it because they enjoy it."

3. Black Clover: Luke (21) and Eoin (18). Strong and smart FMC and has epilogue, but Irish lingo not explained. This is probably the prequel to the Black Clover MCs.

4. Daring King: Callum & Siobhan's wedding becomes a big event of another kind. Too many characters keep popping up as if we should know who they are, and seems like this story is from a series that I've not read. Irish lingo that I didn't know and had to look up here too.

5. Fight or Flight: Carlo & Gina start off with a case of mistaken identity and instalust/love. The eyebrow quirk was cute. It was violent and bloody, but also had lots of chemistry between MCs. Great world-building, characters, and story.

6. Deceit for My Good Girl: Exciting story that ends in CLIFFHANGER. Mel's BFF, alphahole Xander, has been her protector. But he might actually be the enemy. ARC version had typos, missing words, etc.

7. Sick Love: Another interesting story that ends in CLIFFHANGER. Modern day medical mafia Beauty and the Beast retelling.

Bourbon & Bullets is a Mafia Romance Anthology by various authors!! Wonderful variety of short stories!! Nearly all of them were just teaser stories to entice readers to get the rest of a series. They aren’t standalones and most have cliffhangers.

First is Paying His Debts by Paula Acton is the story of Cezar and Charlotte. Her fiancé has a debt to repay…and can’t. So, Charlotte has to step in. Great short story! There seems there is more to come in this story.

Next is Sweet Sorrow by Dani Rene. This is a prequel novella. It is the story of Rhys and Lilith. She’s been promised to someone by her father. She meets Rhys and they hit it off…but, they both know the truth. Great story…cliffhanger ending

Third, is Black Clover by A. Gorman, which is the story of Lucas and Eoin. Probably my least favorite of the stories. They have an arranged marriage and actually like each other! But, the story didn’t really grab me and there were some comments that bothered me near the end.

Then there’s Daring King by Elizabeth Knox. This is the story of Callum and Siobhan. I have mixed feelings about this story. It was a great story and well-written. But, I felt like I came into it in the middle of the story. There were so many characters, situations, back story, etc. it felt like I was missing a lot of background. But, it was also one that didn’t have a cliffhanger…so I loved that!!!

Fifth is, Fight or Flight by Elle M. Thomas, which is the story of Carlo and Gina. This was, perhaps, my favorite story of them all!! It was complete and there were no cliffhangers….plus, I loved the storyline and the characters!!!!! First read from this author….but, I’m ready for more!!!

Then, there’s Deceit for My Good Girl a prequel by Rae B. Lake, which is the story of Xander and Melisande. I enjoyed the story line…and the friendship between the two main characters. But, this story had numerous typos that distracted me. Ends in a cliffhanger

Finally there is Sick Love by Cedar Rose the story of Luca and Freya. The last of the stories and a pretty good read!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Anthologies, for me, can both good and bad. Good, because I find so many great, new to me authors and bad because these stories end and leave me wanting more NOW. This one is full of great stories filled with action  and all the adventure and surprises you could possibly need. I'm excited for more on all of these stories.

Paying His Debts
Paula Acton

Charlottes fiancé Richard gets them in a huge mess when he gets involved with
Cezar, and Cezar takes his business very seriously. This is a new to me author and I can't wait for the rest of this story.

Sweet Sorrow
Dani René

The Montesano and the Vitale families have been enemies for years. But, Rhys Montesano and Lilith, the Vitale Princepessa, apparently hasn't gotten the message. This story is intriguing and in it's entirety is going to be great.

Black Clover
A. Gorman

Luke Ryan and Eoin Mac Lughaidh are going to be a hot couple to follow. Bringing families together and increasing power is what it's all about. Together these two could conquer the world, a strong alpha and his equally strong, independent woman. What could be better!

Daring King
Elizabeth Knox and Emily Sharp

Callum, Siobhan and the rest of the MacDougall and O'Dea clan are back. With them comes all the chaos, danger, excitement and intrigue that they're known for. Things are getting interesting with this bunch.

Fight or Flight
Elle M Thomas

A case of mistaken identity bring Carlo and
Gina together and she's just what he's been looking for. She's fiesty, strong and independent. Just what he needs to fit into his world. This story moves fast, hot and heavy.

Deceit For My Good Girl
Rae B. Lake

Xander is really something else! As arrogant as they come, and can be a major a*^ho*le, except with Mel. This author has given us the beginning of a great story and I can't wait to see what's coming.

Sick Love Cedar Rose

Luca needs Freya in a big way and it all must be kept a secret why. Freya has no clue what she's been dragged into and what role she'll be playing in it all.  This is yet another one I can't wait to read more about.

Paying his debts

OMG, what a scorcher of a read, I need to know what happens after
that mind blowing encounter thanks to a snivelling fiance. Can Charlotte ever be content with lukewarm passion or will Cezar get the gal.

Sweet Sorrow

Centuries long hatred, will the Mafioso Romeo and Juliet be able to overcome all the stumbling blocks in there path, a much older husband to be, a vengeful cousin who is next in line, callous fathers and mothers that checkout from.reality.

Black Clover

Hostile takeover that will leave the owners feeling as it come out of nowhere.

Love reading how something came about and BCMC coming life makes for good reading.

Daring King

Siobhan has been through a whole load of cheap and finding out the truth of her heritage frankly does not come as a shock.

She deserves HEA.

Fight or Flight

When flight is no longer an option where the matters of the heart are concerned.

Absolutely loved the characters, storyline and setting gripped from start to finish.

Deceit For My Good Girl

OMG, this is one he'll of a read and i need to get my hands on Lies for my Good Girl.

Absolutely captivating story that will have you hooked from start to the cliff hanger, good thing spring is around the corner.

Sick Love

Truly sick love, as the circumstances that Freya finds herself in, are a bit too sickly.

Wonder who is behind the second kidnapping?

As for Freyas dad, I hope he gets his just desserts real soon.

An absolute dream anthropology with captivating tales and exciting authors to discover

Elle M Thomas Fight or Flight: Carluccio and Gigi meet at a party and yep Sparks fly then tragedy strikes his father, and she is his nurse. One night her house is invaded and she runs dropping out of her window. Will someone save her and once at Carlos home will she be ok will it turn out ok for them?

Paying His Debts: Charlotte offers herself to give her fiancé more time to pay the debt he owes and the man in charge takes her up on it, giving her experiences she’s never had before and blowing her mind. I assume this is a prequel or fist part of a book. It was pretty good. Great heat.

Sweet Sorrow: A prequel. This is a Romeo and Juliet type of story but with mafia families. Interesting way for Rhys to go about getting what he wants.

Black Clover: An arranged marriage goes perfectly. Eion and Luke are young Irish mafia family heirs whose parents have contracted them together. I love how it plays out.

Daring King: Story was kind of slow and it didn’t feel like much happened. Family secrets come out.

Fight or Flight: A case of very mistaken identity becomes one hot night. Then another run in leads to a lot more.

Deceit For My Good Girl: A prequel. Xander has made himself Mel’s best friend for many years, but she has never known it was under orders. Now he is claiming her to protect her from family she knows nothing about. I definitely can’t wait to see where this goes.

Sick Love: Luca is keeping his illness a secret so he kidnaps a nurse to care for him. Cliffhanger ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So - I normally don't do anthology reads - they are too much of a tease usually and I want a full story, not necessarily a lead in or an epilogue. But with Knox's name on this one and the title kinda did me in. There are seven stories included in this read:
Paying His Debts - by Paula Acton
Sweet Sorrow - by Dani Rene (novella)
Black Clover - by A. Gorman
Daring King - By Elizabeth Knox & Emily Sharp (novella)
Fight or Flight - by Elle M Thomas
Deceit for My Good Girl - by Rae B Lake (a prequel)
Sick Love - by Cedar Rose
overall some great reads - I think anthologies are prefect for those who need short reads but like a certain genre and this certainly fits that bill. Each are well written and provide the reader with a want for more - which I guess is the point - right?!?

I loved reading this anthology and finding a few new authors that I cannot wait to read more from. Elizabeth Knox, Emily Sharp and Rae B Lake are not new authors to me. I have always loved reading anything from them and of course was not disappointed with these short stories.

Each story has surprises, some twists and turns, deception, drama, secrets, revenge, struggles, happiness, passion, truths, misunderstandings, sadness, frustration and some steamy words and scenes!

I am looking forward to reading more from Paula Acton, Dani Rene, A. Gorman, Elle M Thomas and Cedar Rose since most of these ended with cliffhangers!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I always enjoy these anthologies. I get introduced to new authors and I will admit I have only read two of them previously. My favorite is the continuation of the O'Dea crime family by Elizabeth Knox and Emily Sharpe. I am reading that series and really enjoy it. Another is A. Gorman's Black Clover. You get just a taste and then the story ends. There are several authors in the anthology that I want to follow up on. If you are familiar with the authors it is like a bonus and if you aren't you get to learn about their style. Overall interesting bundle.

I loved the Anthology Book, the Mafia Romance stories were unique on there own. Some stories were a bit short but over all the authors have done a remarkable job writing these stories. Every individual story had everything you could want in the Mafia story you had action, danger, suspense, dominants, lust and emotions with a lot more of there own individuality. I would read all the stories again, and individual stories for the Bourbon & Bullets Mafia story is a must read.

This is an anthology of Mafia stories written by seven distinctive authors. I couldn't put it down it pulled me in right away with all of the action, drama, suspense, betrayal, violence, secrets, surprises, vengeance etc. I loved that I felt like we could feel their emotions as we we were reading the stories if they were betrayed you felt their anger and when they were seeking vengeance you understood the lack of emotion needed. Yet at other times you really feel the emotional turmoil from all the lies, kidnappings, and shocking truths have on the amazing characters we meet. You need to check this out whether you've read these authors before or this is a chance to discover new authors who's stories you can get hooked on. I would recommend reading this wonderful collection of stories. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow! This is a spectacular anthology! It is a fantastic way to discover new authors and to read new works by those that you know! Two of my favorites are by Elizabeth Knox and Rae B. Lakes. This one is packed with action, danger, secrets, angst, desire, twists, surprises and more! You have strong alpha men and sassy women. They grab you and keep you turning pages to see what happens. Highly recommend this! Check it out and see what you think. I know I thoroughly enjoyed all of the stories! I have high hopes to see some of these characters again and get more of their story. Only time will tell!

Bourbon and Bullets (Mafia Romance Anthology) by Knox Publishing. I enjoyed this mix of mafia romances. Each story is short but promises more to come with a to be continued. My favorite was Sick Love by Cedar Rose. Luca and Freya, their contentious connection and wicked banter held me captivated while the angsty drama had me on the edge of my seat while gripping my kindle. And OMG- what happened to Freya! UGH…(like I said- to be continued). I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A set of stories that feature the darkest side of this world.
I loved each for its intriguing pull on the reader but found that I wanted so much more after that taste.
There is nothing like a dangerous man and some seem to have a sadistic streak that made me wonder what they would do for their love.
I am truly blessed to have had a copy of this book which reawakened my love for this genre.

This grouping of stories left this reader with the smokey aftereffects of a hangover. Some of the stories were really good, excellent characters, and storylines that were neither tired or bled out. Others... Not so good, but not terrible either. On a scale of 1-10, with one being the worst thing I ever read... I think it deserves a solid 9. Yes, there are some dark elements that might cause trauma, so pay attention to the TWs. Otherwise, enjoy the ride. . This review is for Daring King by Elizabeth Knox and Emily Sharp.

This was a really good addition to the O’Dea crime family books. I enjoyed seeing more of Siobhan and Callum, but the story felt a bit rushed at times. I just needed some answers that it didn’t really provide but maybe they will come in the next book in the series.

This anthology was amazing! There are seven intriguing stories and each author painted a masterful scene of secrets, lies, betrayal, violence, revenge, love, hate and passion. The strong heroines and the alpha heros are (eventually) perfect together and their explosive chemistry sizzled and sparked right off the pages! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat! This is a fantastic mafia romance anthology and an absolute MUST READ!

With anthologies you get a great selection of books from a variety of authors that you may not have read. I prefer the entire book and not teasers for upcoming releases. Overall, a lot of sizzle, action, steam, twists, turns, and more. The best way to sample new to you authors, without a huge commitment and even better, this is available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited.

I relieved an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.

I liked most of the stories in this anthology. There were about two I didn’t really care for. A couple of them are prequels and peaked my interest in reading more of the series.

Elizabeth Knox & Emily Sharp’s contribution is part of the O’Dea Crime Family series. It is a continuation of Siobhan & Callum’s story.
