When Ivy finds out that her roommate’s brother Arturo is about to be deported, she impulsively agrees to marry him, sight unseen. But when Arturo turns out to be incredibly arrogant—and infuriatingly sexy—convincing the authorities that they’re in love turns out to be harder than she anticipated. Or is it?
While I enjoyed the book (1 as it turns out) I was more than unhappy to be surprised with the termination of story before it was at a conclusion. The continuation and conclusion was not available unless I downloaded another app and subjected myself to uninvited solicitation. What a crock! And disappoinment! Boo!
stupid book ended in a cliffhanger that I can’t even read because the second book is only available on another app that you have to pay for😭. otherwise it was pretty good.
This book had to much hate between the main characters, for essentially no reason. There are also a LOT of typos. They even misspelled Arturo’s name at one point. I don’t like that the book ends with them deciding to be together, only to have the second book only available on an app.

So the book was LOOOOOOOONNG and then it ended on a cliffhanger. WTF. The only way I could find the "second book" was to download a whole other app and deal with that and I'm not gonna lie...the book was okay but it wasn't good enough to go through all that trouble. I liked Arturo. I wanted to punch Ivy in the face because she created many of the communication issues between them and seemed to always want to pick a fight with him and it got frustrating. Like I just wanted to tell her to SHUT UP! As for the other characters in the book - I didn't know who to trust and who was good vs who was there to mess up their lives because of this green card marriage thing. I feel like Ivy's Mom, Hank, Willis, and maybe Gemma were legit not a part of the Immigration part but Martina's crush and Mr. Boss Man at Ivy's work have me more than suspicious. Hate that I won't get to the conclusion...I think.
I don't normally write a bad reviews but felt insulted by the main character.
This book has a really good idea and I was looking forward to getting stuck in, I read a book every 1-2 days. But unfortunately I could not finish it. The reason was Ivy the character is horrible, from thinking she was the best kisser to dismissing the idea of being faithful and just generally not very likeable. I like strong independent women , feisty and know what they want. I have personal experience of the visa process and having to prove your relationship is genuine. While this is fiction the author insulted us by writing ivy they way she did. I'm sorry I don't normally write bad reviews but I felt I had too this time.
I’m absolutely loving this book! The writing is beautiful, and the storyline between Arturo and Ivy is so engaging—it’s full of emotion, depth, and just the right amount of tension. The characters feel real, and their relationship is developing in such an intriguing way that I couldn’t put it down.
That being said, I was really disappointed to find out that the rest of the book is locked behind a pay-per-chapter app. I won’t be paying to continue reading because the cost adds up quickly, making it way too expensive. If it were reasonably priced as a full book on Kindle, I would have gladly purchased it. Unfortunately, these pay-to-read apps feel like a scam, and it’s frustrating when a great story gets trapped behind that model. It’s a shame because I truly would have loved to finish it.
I was going to rate this 5 stars but I got upset with the ending being a cliffhanger and the sequel only being accessibly on a dodgy app so I don’t actually know how this story ends!
Despite this, what I have read of the story has been really good! Perhaps slightly far fetched at times but highly enjoyable!
Started off well, then got so over the top and not funny over the top, just cringe worthy. Struggled to get to the end only to be left on a cliffhanger. Wont be bothering with book two that's for sure. Definitely needs an editor to go over it again. The main characters name keeps changing to Arthur, which is a major off put.
The book has several typos, including calling Arturo Arthur on a few occasions. The book's beginning and end don't seem to link as you expect them to so there's no conclusion whatsoever; you're just left wondering what actually happened.
Good story, it leaves you hanging as you can't ready the next part of the story unless you install an app and pay for chapters. Not nice at all, it just that ruined the book for me.
Two stars because story not finished, can’t review or rate a book without full story… and no i’m not downloading another app to pay for each chapter just to finish a story that should be in one book!
Loved this story. Great read. Ivy and Arturo were hilarious together. Enjoyed the storyline and their two personalities were fun to read. Had a bit of everything - steamy and funny.
I enjoyed Book 1 because was really good in the guessing deparment. You never knew what you were gonna find out next. I enjoy how it was written with different people talking. I would recommend this book to my friends who love true down to earth romance.
