What if I could make your worst nightmares a reality?
When I was five, they told me I was cursed. When I was ten, they accused me of killing my entire pack. When I was fifteen, I ran away in hopes of escaping my past. I left everything — and everyone — behind.
By twenty, I’d moved on in every way. New name, new city, a chance at a fresh start. By twenty-five, I was a healer to a pack of nightmare wolves, and whatever my curse, they were immune to its wrath. For once, I was happy: in love with not just my powerful Alpha, but his Beta and Sentinel Guard.
Life was challenging, but my past was finally forgotten…until my monsters found me.
You can run, but you can’t hide from the darkness. Where there is darkness, there is light, but that’s the problem.
The Goddess of Darkness was murdered by the Goddess of Light, and I’m next up on the chopping block. If I don’t partner with my monsters to reveal the secrets hidden within me, all the creatures of the dark will perish, including the men I love.
It’s time for me to unlock who I really am: the heir to the throne of shadows.
Found By Her Monsters is a 100,000-word Paranormal Monster Romance Duet. The deliciously dark romance is filled with steamy scenes, action, suspense, and thrilling drama between two paranormal worlds. Rated for mature audiences. All sexual encounters are consensual.
I'm usually a fan of Avery Song books but this was not good. From the beginning it felt like I was in the middle of book 3 of a series. Nothing about this world was explained, nothing about the characters was explained, people would just do things and know things with no foundation... The most disappointing part is that this book has a ton to offer!
For the life of me I cannot tell you what I just read, Am I the hot mess or is it this book that’s making my mind spin? There was just so much going on and so many characters I couldn’t keep things straight. Heroine Nerissa used to date monsters until they had a messy breakup a few years ago. Now she’s moved on and two months ago mated an alpha werewolf and is shared between him and I believe three of his wolves. Nerissa is not an average MC as she’s the goddess of nightmares but also a wolf herself. That’s just the bare minimum to keep straight and perhaps it’s because my phone did an update and my sweet little text to talk British voice is different and I’m having to readjust that makes this hard but holy hell there was just sooooo much. I’m honestly not sure what the takeaway is because I was even more confused by the end. Her monsters were actually her fated mates but then they’re not and yet she has to get permission from her alpha to mate them so her goddess powers don’t make her combust. There’s also other gods involved and the four horsemen are around as well, honestly it’s just a party and it’s all still dancing around in my head. Don’t think I’m going to continue on but I def think I’ll need to give this book another go in the near future, hopefully it’s me with the problem which is highly likely!
I'm still confused..there is a lot of sex, a lot of filler scenes, and a dash of the actual plot. The dialouge is very juvenile and cringy to me. There were info dumps by side characters that left me feeling like this was a soap opera. I didn't feel any connections with the characters and the fmc's personality was very off putting instead of quirky. The guys were just odd. I wanted to love this as the original idea had such great potential. That potential was the only thing driving me to finish this as I was ready to cut my loses very early on. I'm so disappointed with this story!
Avery Songs storytelling keeps you hooked from start to finish. The female main character and her mates are perfect for each other and I enjoyed reading their journey in this first part of the duet. I encourage you to pick this book up for yourself and see if you enjoy it to :)
It was confusing and seemed like it was the second or third book instead of the first. I didn't even finish it because It didn't go into detail on a lot of things and there was no backstory
When Avery Song writes monsters romance, let me tell you that you ride a rollercoaster of suspense, twist turns, and mystery! During half of the book, I wondered if I missed reading a prequel or a chapter because the way the story is told is very confusing😂😂. It felt like you should know things that aren't describe in the book😳
We follow here, Nerissa, who is the goddess of Nightmare. In this world, Gods, Goddesses, and other supernaturals live together as well with humans. Nerissa has been a kind of sex slave to three monsters gods in a kind of cult until her 16th birthday and then fled and met a pack of wolf and fell for the Alpha and his two betas. Even after having fled, her monsters kept visiting her during night, torturing her with pleasure. They never tried to find Nerissa and never understood why she fled so Nerissa just assumed that they just used her and never loved her even if she was (still is?) in love with them. But things are going to change when her monsters tried to contact her saying they need her help and when she met a pack of four mysterious archangel wolves claiming her as their mate...
Be prepare in this book for not only one harem but potentially three!!!!😁😁😁 Yes, Nerissa was/is/will be involve with three groups of guys! That's briliant😂 But not everything is settled by the end of the book which end with a mild cliffhanger. There are still a lot of mysteries in Nerissa's life! I really look forward the next book and just hope that the end would be a big HEA (unlike in Song's book "Den of Monsters" in which the end was a big mess of an HFN🤦🏻♀️😡).
When I first started this, I was convinced I'd accidently began with the wrong book because the author tosses you in the deep end and leaves you floundering for quite a while before any sort of world-building starts.
Later on you find out that the first bit of the book actually takes place much, much later in the book, when you as a reader know things and it could actually make sense.
Next you have pacing issues, one day drags on for the bulk of the story and then skips forward like a week or so-- I think. With there being real world and dream states, along with extended scenes cut with sharp jumps it makes it hard to really pin down the timeline.
Then there is the fact that a load of characters have 2 or more names, some have multiple personalites or dark personas which does not help a reader keep things straight.
I'm was very tempted to DNF but once things started being explained, I was glad I stuck around and I really do have high hopes that now that I get what's going on, the second book can really shine.

Where do I even begin to describe the epic journey that this new book series introduces us to? So many sneaky twists and turns that by the end of the book, I was contemplating a re-read to dive back into and see what I might have missed!
Nessa is a Goddess Wolf hybrid that has been abused and mentally belittled most of her life. When she finally ran away, the ones she left behind never understood her reasoning, nor tried to make amends. But instead of living her life in regret, Nessa became a stronger woman/wolf/ healer…with a side of crazy thrown in to make her enjoy the new pack that she has become a valuable part of.
With another Goddess bestie, her sexy alpha, beta and sentinel guard, you’d think her dance card was full…but what’s a Goddess supposed to do when she finds out that the four horsemen were meant to be her mates? She jumps in the pool and starts fighting for what’s hers!
If you enjoy unpredictable FMC’s who enjoy a little spanking with their snark, who have strong opinions on EVERYTHING…then this is the book for you. Dive into a new epic journey and bring a warm blankie…you’ll be glad you did!
I hope that Nerissa's dream Monsters fight for her. She needs to talk with them to figure out exactly what's going on. She associates them with the horrors of her past and needs closure to forgive and move on with or without them.
Danica caused all of this mayhem not knowing what she has triggered. Well she did it to herself and I can't wait to see what happens next. I wonder if she doesn't have powers anymore, would the collars fall off?
I like this take on the four horsemen. I hope the sequel shows what happens when they are loved by Nerissa.I hope that Nerissa's dream Monsters fight for her. Let me start off by saying that I love Ms. Song's books. However I was very confused in the beginning. I felt like I was thrusted in partway through a book series. At one point I had to go back and see what book number I was on, just incase I missed a book. That being said, things somewhat clear as the story progresses. I very much enjoyed the M/M aspect that she added in and the possible outcome to more. I also like have each (slight spoiler) group of males is completely different. Do I have hopes of an all out orgy... yes. Do I have hopes of a new female being added to her harem.... also yes. Overall, love the storyline. I do think that the next book will help round out the questions and loose ends we are all feeling.
Found by Her Monsters is a fantastic start to this new duet! This was a captivating story and new world with shifters, gods and goddess’s. Nesta is part nightmare wolf and part goddess with dark abilities. She is strong, fierce and can kick some serious @ss. She is also the pack healer and it was really cool how she heals someone with her magic. We are also introduced to the men in Nesta’s life. The growly, Alpha Erebus, Koa and Ciel. I really enjoyed this new and exciting story because it really is something I haven’t read before with shifter, gods and goddess’s. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
....and this was just book one?!? Holy moly!!!! Yes indeedy...what a way to kick this series off! Get ready to be drawn into a fascinating world filled with hidden secrets, lots of 🔥🔥🔥, plenty of snarky alpha males, dark and twisty moments, revelations, action, and just so much more. At the heart of it all is one blazingly brilliant female still coming into her own and learning some truths hidden from her. Prepare now for a MASSIVELY jawdropping cliffy that *will* leave you wanting more, more, MORE 😉. Get ready to feel all the feels and cheer her on as we start her journey in this epic start to the series. Brilliant read!!!
Found by Her Monsters: Goddess of Nightmares by Avery Song is book one in Her Dark Obsessions Duet. This book is a paranormal monster romance book. It follows the female main character Nesta who is part goddess and part nightmare wolf who has dark powers and abilities. Along the way she meets her three monsters: Alpha Erebus, Cielo, and Koa. I found this book captivating as it took on creating this new world with gods, goddesses, and shifters. I found the plot to be riveting as I went on a journey of twists and turns throughout this novel. I can't wait for book two and to find out how this all ends for all the characters involved.
This book took me a bit to get into, but once I was in, I was in! Watching Narissa go from someone who has to stay hidden. Therfore keeping her true strength hidden was a great thing to watch. It was even more relatable as I was going through some struggles myself the 1st time I read it. I wish I could spend 20 minutes in Avery's brain to understand how all her amazing worlds are created and how she keeps them all straight!
The second time I read the book ( right after I finished the first time) made certain scenes alot easier to understand! Evem know where the story was going, the twist at the end definitely was a shocker! October can't come fast enough!
Wow...a lot going on in this book...monsters, shifters and the four horsemen. Told from almost entirely from Nerrisa’s POV in first person. The world building was slow, mostly just pieces dropped through the entire story. I loved the FMC and the way she interacts with her mates and the secondary characters. She is feisty and vulnerable at the same time. Hints of her past are slowly revealed and her monsters do not show up unless she is dreaming (which isn’t really my favorite way of introducing characters, especially when the book title implies that it is mostly about monsters).
Definitely not a boring book and will keep you on your toes!
Another a-maz-ing novel by Avery Song. This a dark and sometimes horrific story of someone that had to go through the worst start in life to become the strong independent leading lady that avery creates so well. You think you figure out the twists before they happen but alas, its so full of twists and turns you get a double whammy at the end. I cant wait for the next book to come out. The fate of the world is at stake, in the classic good vs evil, but my question is.... who is the true monster??
This is a fun new series by Avery that has several new things and some new takes on old things (is: shifters, myths/religious creatures). I really liked getting to know Nessa, her alpha and two men but also enjoyed reading about the new comers to her circle. I like Atticus quite a bit, I think he was my favorite out of the guys. Probably because he was so sure of Nessa right from the start which is unlike some others. He continually fought for her and her bond, which was awesome. I’m curious to see what else unfolds next!
Avery song did it again created pure epicness and now my brain is screaming I need more lmao I can't wait to see where Avery takes us in nerissa's journey she is a power house goddess and she about to show what she is capable of! That ending was perfect but will leave you wanting more, nerissa is just a bad a$$ and Im excited to see how her story continues with her sexy Alpha mates and her monsters! The steam in this book is 🔥🔥🔥Man did I just ride one hell of a rollercoaster ride and I can't wait to go on the next one Avery is gonna bring! I highly recommend reading this epic story!
I will fully admit that when i started this book i was not sure how much i would like it. I love Avery's work but this one started out so different. But as i read further i really fell into the story and trying to determine what the past really was about and why it was so important to the characters. There is still a lot to be determined in this duet but by the end of this first book i was not ready for it to end. Just goes to show that Avery Song is amazing in what she does and can pull the reader into her worlds. I definitely recommend this book.
I had to re-read the first chapter a couple of times because there was so much going on and I felt like I was in the middle of a series and not reading book one. I would have liked a bit more background in the beginning because we kind of hit the ground running and it took a few more chapters to really get hooked on the storyline. I wish there was more world building but I did love the tie ins with other series from Avery. Love those little Easter eggs. :) This book was worth the craziness in the beginning and I can't wait for the second book. :)
This book starts off like you already have read a book with these characters in it. There’s no explanation it’s like starting midway through a tv show and never watching the episodes before to understand the jokes and references and who anyone is. I don’t need like a full backstory but like did you forget a chapter or two off the beginning? I’m sure the book is good but I can’t read a book starting off like this with no context to anything.
This was… a bit of a mess. I was super confused at the beginning, it felt like I’d come in to the second book, and I was missing a bunch of information. I didn’t feel connected at all to the characters, and I honestly couldn’t tell you what any of her mates actually looked like.
I kept losing interest and stopping and starting, but I finally pushed myself to finish it today.
I felt like this needed an edit for clarity and punctuation errors.
The ending wasn’t so bad, I might read the second one 🤷🏼♀️
Dnf They really throw you into the middle of a story. Also, the entire first chapter is entirely in italics, which is extremely difficult to read and just poor editing. Also, also, the dialogue when they’re shifted is ridiculous.
“” “WOOO! Woof, woof!” he responded. Alpha?! That mediocre being is not our Alpha. Our Alpha denied coming here. “Woof. Woof, woof?” I replied. Your Alpha doesn’t want to kidnap me? If not, why are you guys here to ambush a female wolf? Especially on foreign territory. “”
I… what was that!? It was so long winded but nothing made sense. The book starts off with part of the story already missing. The entire first chapter is a sex dream but none of the characters have really been introduced so it’s like reading a really wordy sex scene where you don’t know anyone.I don’t even really know how to adequately describe it. I feel like this was a psychedelic creation of a bunch of writings that were thrown together and we the readers are expected to make a story out of it.
This book is Epic!!! The twist the turns riveting plots. Sweet Nyx and her Monsters and her Nightmares Wolves are steamy- hot- will leave you rereading the sexy tension banter between all of them. Then you have Archangel enter the dynamic harem. What could be the phenomenal outcome? Will the Goddess of Nightmares find her true purpose. Avery Song is the best and has fo e it again giving us all the details of the character and there world. Please read this I finished in not even a day💜💜💜💜
Miss. Avery you put one heck f a book together. It hit all what I was look for. Mysterious backstory, reverse harem, sexy men, confident female, twist and turns. I am looking forward to the next book. Our Goddess of Nightmares just got her self in a very sticky situation at the end and I have so many questions as well. Like I said I can’t wait for the next book.
I love love love this authors stories. Nyx where awsome, i needed a pull-you-in-book so badly this week. My consentration is at a alltime low. Apperantly carbs grew my mental capacity as well as my size so going low on a week my dog needed a heart scan and my tons of questions was a bad combo.. Anyway being pulled in like this with Nyx and the guys whare a great escape and allowed me to relax and unplug. Highly recommended:)
