I received a gifted advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Lovebookstours.
Elladur: The Elders Legacy is book 2 in the Elladur series and picks up pretty much where book one ended. This book needs to be read after book one to understand the story (so it is not a stand-alone).
I was really excited about this book and devoured it as quickly as possible. I was a little confused at the first few chapters, but then everything started to make more sense the further I read. I think this may be because it's been a year since I read book one and would recommend reading these close together in time. I loved how Angie Delazi has twisted perspectives in this installment, which left me questioning who is good and bad. I loved Liyas character progression in this book and how much she is growing in strength. She fights for what she believes in and with spies and enemies all around her. I really felt for her as I wasn't sure who to trust myself.
There's some fantastic characters in this series, and the fantasy world the book is set in is so envisionable and captivating to read about. I found Haydn growing on me in this book, too! The ending was left on another fantastic cliffhanger, leaving me desperate for book 3! Angie is amazingly clever within her cliffhangers and plots, and I can't wait to read the final instalment ASAP!!

I really enjoyed this book, I read the first one in the series before reading this one and I would definitely recommend doing the same as it really helped get an understanding of the storyline, characters and so forth.
The story itself is really well written and I really liked the character development, especially the protagonist Liya I kinda loved her and I really liked that in this book more of her history/backstory is explored alongside those of her ancestors and other characters.
This book had everything honestly adventure, romance, magic, kidnapping and one of the things that I was most excited about and I know that a lot of you reading this will be to, there are dragons.
And just look at this cover I mean dragons and this beaut on the front I havent been this excited since I discovered Daenarys.
This series is perfect for fantasy lovers and I highly recommend it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

I really enjoyed this book, I read the first one in the series before reading this one and I would definitely recommend doing the same as it really helped get an understanding of the storyline, characters and so forth.
The story itself is really well written and I really liked the character development, especially the protagonist Liya I kinda loved her and I really liked that in this book more of her history/backstory is explored alongside those of her ancestors and other characters.

Having read book one I was slightly confused at how much at sea I found myself at the start of book two. I wasn’t sure if I remembered all of the characters and I didn’t recognise Ewan: having seen him only through Liya’s thoughts he seemed to believe very different things to what I had previously been led to believe. Plus, why, if Lyia had had to resign her commission and is banished from her home and is therefore no longer a subjetc of King Louis, is there this talk of treason? It doesn’t make sense… Julian, however, seems just as slimy as always. Since he is the one muddying the waters I query, a few chapters in, what game he is playing. Same for Haydn, of course. Things that once seemed clear seem to be turned on their heads now. Who is good and whose plans need to be thwarted? Only time will tell…
Such were my thoughts as I started chapter three.
Oh…. Oh! So most of the way through now. Some things I was wondering about have become clear and now a body swipe from a most unexpected corner answering a question that wasn’t even a blip on my radar, though others were certainly curious. What’s Liya going to do about this? It’s certainly not a good thing to underestimate one’s enemies: they know as much as you do about some things after all: not that I think anyone could have predicted this! Ah, readers curse: understanding things characters might not. Clever author. Now come back and clear up the questions you have left unanswered please! That was some cliffhanger to introduce in the last paragraph. What is Liya going to do?
You might guess from this that I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Bring on book 3!

Meine Meinung:
Auch mit diesem zweiten teil der Trilogie
konnte mich die Autorin Angie Delazi
wieder fesseln und in ihre Welt entführen.
Inzwischen fühle ich mich dort schon richtig heimisch!
Es ist toll mit Liya und ihren Freunden
richtig spannende und gefährliche
Abenteuer zu erleben und oftmals kommt
es doch ganz anders als man denkt.
Es gibt erstaunliche unvorhersehbare Wendungen,
die überraschendes zu Tage befördern und
für jede scheinbar beantwortete Frage,
entstehen Neue, die unlösbar erscheinen...
Manchmal ist es nicht einfach für Liya,
zu entscheiden, wem sie denn überhaupt noch
vertrauen kann!
Ganz klar, dass in diesem Teil nicht alle
offenen Fragen geklärt werden,
das wird dann aber sicherlich im dritten Teil
zu einem Guten Ende führen, hoffe ich zumindest!
Auf alle Fälle bin ich schon jetzt
meganeugierig, wie die Geschichte weitergehen
und enden wird!
Freue mich schon jetzt auf das Finale
und bin sehr gespannt, ob es Liya und den Gefährten
gelingen wird, die Welt zu retten und ob
Liya und Haydn doch noch eine gemeinsame
Zukunft haben werden oder ob sich wieder alles
ganz andere entwickeln wird...

Ich finde es richtig gut gelungen!
Verschieden Elemente welche im Buch eine Rolle spielen, wurden eingearbeitet und sind dabei ein schöner Hingucker. 😍
Meinung:
Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist wieder angenehm und flüssig zu lesen, wodurch die Seiten nur so dahin fließen.
Der zweite Band schließt nahtlos an den ersten an.
Ich habe tatsächlich recht lange gebraucht, um wieder richtig reinzukommen, was vor allem daran liegt, dass im ersten Band sooo viel passiert ist und die Geschichte eben auch eine gewisse Komplexität hat.
Doch als meine Erinnerungen erst mal wieder richtig in Gang gekommen sind und ich die Zusammenhänge wieder optimal nachvollziehen konnte, war ich wieder total gefesselt.
Im zweiten Band wird es nicht leichter für Liya.
Nachdem sie aus ihrer Ohnmacht erwacht, muss sie erst mal alle Zusammenhänge neu ordnen, um zu verstehen, was eigentlich genau passiert ist und wieso.
Obwohl sich unsere Protagonistin verraten und verletzt fühl, ist die ganz besondere Verbindung zwischen ihr und Haydn allgegenwärtig.
Doch Liya ist niemand, der seinen Gefühlen die Oberhand lässt, denn um ihre Pflicht zu erfüllen und das wohl anderer zu schützen, muss sie diese hinten anstellen.
Liya ist wirklich ein starker und authentischer Charakter.
Sie bleibt sich selbst treu und gibt trotz der teilweise furchtbaren Umstände die Hoffnung nicht auf.
Sie gefiel mir als Protagonistin total gut.
Liya, welche im ersten Band noch die treue Spionin von König Louis war, steht nun zwischen den drei Reichen und muss sich die Frage stellen, wo sie eigentlich wirklich hingehört.
Im zweiten Band lesen wir wieder hauptsächlich aus der Perspektive von Liya, doch zwischendurch bekommen wir auch ein Einblick in zwei weitere Handlungsstränge, nämlich von Ewan und Haydn.
Mir gefiel das unglaublich gut, denn auch wenn alle drei zwischenzeitlich mit unterschiedlichen Problemen beschäftigt sind, ist es doch relevant für die anderen und vor allem für das Gesamtbild.
Die Grenzen zwischen Freund und Feind sind zum Teil sehr verschwommen und schwer auszumachen, was einen auch als Leser immer wieder mit grübeln lässt und für uns die ein oder andere Überraschung parat hat.
Einige Fragen wurden geklärt, doch viele bleiben offen und lassen mich gespannt das Finale ersehnen.
Fazit:
Auch mit dem zweiten Band dieser High Fantasy Trilogie konnte die Autorin mich begeistern.
Ich habe relativ lange gebraucht, bis ich wieder voll drin in der Geschichte war, doch als es erst mal klick gemacht hat, war es wieder super fesselnd.
Durch den angenehmen Schreibstil liest sie die Geschichte super flüssig, sodass man schneller wieder durch ist, als zu erwarten.
Die Geschichte ist ziemlich komplex und steckt voller Tiefe, was ich gern habe.
Vor allem die charakterstarke Protagonistin konnte mich in dieser Fortsetzung sehr begeistern.
Im zweiten Band wurden einige Fragen geklärt, doch es bleibt noch viel offen, vor allem im Bezug auf "die alte Zeit".

I have read book 1 last year and absolutely adored it. I flew through it and I was very excited to read book 2 and find out what happened to these characters as book 1 ended on a huge cliff-hanger.
Book 2 starts not long after book 1 ends, but so many things are different. The story follows 3 main plotlines: Liya and Haydn at his court, Liya and Folnar as captives and Ewan and Mina fighting against a much stronger enemy.
I found the plot in this book much more complex and at times difficult to follow than in book 1. I seem to have forgotten a lot and wasn’t sure about the motivations of characters and their actions. I enjoyed the book, and I am curious to read book 3.
Liya is an incredible strong and fierce woman who fights for what she believes is right. Haydn grew on me during this book, and I ended up rooting for him and Liya.
The writing is very good and the story easy to read and immersive, although as I said, very complex. I liked the twists and turns, and the ending was very unexpected.

Nachdem ich Liya im ersten Band der Reihe schon kennenlernen durfte, viel mir der Einstieg in Band zwei richtig leicht. Es setzt auch nahtlos da an wo Teil Eins aufhört. Für Liya hat sich nicht allzuviel geändert, als sie aus ihrer Ohnmacht erwacht muss sie sich erst einmal neuorientieren. Es gibt einiges das sich verändert hat und noch dazu trifft sie Hayden wieder, mit dem sie mehr als nur Worte verbinden.
Für Liya steht einiges auf dem Spiel und auch für das ganze Land. Der Drachenkönig spielt dabei ebenso eine Rolle wie auch der bereits erwähnte Haydn. Beim Lesen wird einem nicht immer klar wer eigentlich auf Liyas Seite steht und wer nicht. Liya hat nämlich nicht nur Freunde, sondern auch mächtige Feinde die sich in ihrer Nähe aufhalten und die einen Keil zwischen sie und ihre Verbündeten treiben wollen.
Ob das gelingt verrate ich nicht, das dürft ihr selber nachlesen.
Von den Charakteren her mochte ich Liya am liebsten. Schon in Buch eins ist mir aufgefallen, das sie nicht so leicht unterzukriegen ist. Sie kämpft für das woran sie glaubt und das hat sie auch im zweiten Teil wieder getan. Egal wie schwer es für sie wird, sie gibt nicht auf und auch wenn sie mit diversen Gefühlen konfrontiert wird, bleibt sie sich treu. Das spricht meiner Meinung nach für ein starkes Pflichtgefühl und macht Liya auch sonst zu einem sehr starken Charakter der sich nicht hinter männlichen Helden versteckt. Als Leserin mag ich das.

The Elders Legacy is the second book in the Elladur Trilogy series. Initially, I did start reading this one without having read the first one but there was clearly so much information I had missed and needed, so to save confusion I went and read the first one. Having got through the first in a relatively short space of time I was interested to see what was going to happen in the second book. Just for the record the first book was a three star read for me.
This book begins close to where the first book finishes, which is pretty cool. One thing I liked was that I could never really work out who Liya’s friends were and who were her enemies. The plot was good and the characters were intriguing
The story ends on a cliffhanger but having read the first and second book I feel quite satisfied with the story within those two books and I really don’t have any incentive to read the third in this series. For me the book was alright, no major errors, well written and has an interesting plot but there is nothing drawing me back to it.
This was a 3 star read for me.

I dont know where to start with this review 🤭🤣
The Mages definitely sucked me in with their magic and said "keep up Bitch" 🙈😂

This book was much more political as the story unfolded 🗳 but it aided in the world building and helped you understand what was going on a lot more 🤔 I loved the establishment of character relationships- particularly with Tafriani and Haydn’s characters 🌹 I also loved the exploration of the technology this world has which is so different to anything I have read before 📖 I am very intrigued to see how this story ends and can’t wait to see what the final instalment has to offer 😁

Another great installment in this series!
This book provided more information and world building, gave us deeper character development and moved the story on with even more action than the first.
I will admit I spent part of this book concerned about the intentions of a certain character but by the end I had my answer.

Ich habe diese geballte Ladung an Liebe, Hoffnung, Verrat, Verzweiflung, uralte Magie, Tod, Intrigen und Angst gespürt. Die Handlung ist voll einnehmend, wendungsreich & überraschend. Man verliert sich regelrecht im Geschehen und ist im Bann dieser Geschichte. 🤩 Ich habe mit Liya mitgelitten sowie auch mitgefiebert. Ihr Charakter ist echt toll, authentisch, mutig & eigenwillig. Sie hat gelernt für ihr Land Kopf und Kragen herzuhalten. Auch von den anderen Charakteren konnte man einiges lesen, so lag der Hauptaugenmerk nicht komplett auf Liya.

This book picks up shortly after the explosive events of Elladur-The Awakening with Liya now coming to the attention of the Dark King in the other world. The Dark King has one goal, to take over the world and it’s up to Liya to stop her. Whilst staying in Haydn’s Castle Liya disappears and finds herself in a training camp where she learns more about who she is and the power that she holds.
I read this book straight after I finished the first book in the series which helped me to follow the storyline and characters by jumping straight from book one to book two. This helped to keep the storyline and characters in focus as I read. There was more magic in this book and it’s clear that Liya’s magic has increased significantly and more people are now aware of the power that she possesses. Having read the first book I was hoping for more scenes between Liya and Haydn in this book and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the scenes between them because it was clear they cared about each other so deeply. Like the first book, this book also included many characters but as Liya quickly learned it was difficult to know who she could trust as every character appeared to have their own agenda and an ulterior motive. One of my favourite aspects of this book was learning more about the Ancient Era, the artefacts and what the Elders had done all those years ago. As this book ended on a cliff hanger I am interested to see what happens next.

This is a gorgeous (meaty) book set in a whole new world of magic and dragons - darkness and light - forbidden love - friendship and treachery and battles for honour and country.
I loved the descriptive writing as it was really easy to become completely immersed within the world and thought the development of the characters worked really well even as they intermingled between the different areas and groups of people.
Although this isn't my usual genre, I enjoyed the writing and plot and finished the book feeling intrigued and wanting to know what happens next, having left us on a cliffhanger.
If you love fantasy - then this one is definitely for you

Elder’s legacy is the second book in a trilogy. So please read book one first or you will be very confused and not have a clue what was going on. Actually if you are like me reread book one then read this one. I hate picking up a book from a series and having to remember what happened especially after a wait. This book is one of the very reasons I reread the previous books lol.
The first ended in a cliffhanger and you know my love hate relay with them. Hate them because you have to wait for the next. Love them for the same reason. Once you settle into this book that’s it. You are in for a ride. The sun characters, world and adventure are even better than the first book and that is a feat.
Great read and need to read the third so I know what happens next. Like now would be good.

This book continued where the first book left off – something I personally really like in sequels. Book one ended on a plot twist and we dive right into the consequences of the betrayal. Dark magic has been unleashed and there are many secrets in the process of being discovered. 🖤The author did a great job of keeping and revealing secret at just the right time and there were great dynamics between characters (especially in the friends, to fancying each other, to enemies, to lovers!). 🦋
Although I enjoyed this book and think that there were many brilliant elements to the series so far, there are a few aspects to the book that I struggled with. For a start, there are a lot of characters and I found it hard to keep up at times, especially considering a few characters had similar names! There is a character list at the end of the book, but it occasionally disrupted the flow of the book to keep checking who was who. Another small issue I had was the pacing of the book; a lot happens throughout but there are a few slow chapters that I skimmed through.
Overall, The Elder’s Legacy is full of twists and turns and I just think this series is so clever with the combination of modern technology and typical fantasy-age settings. I rated the book 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and I am looking forward to the conclusion of the triology🥰
