Three years ago, Decker rejected Misha because he didn’t believe she was ready to take on the pressures of being the alpha’s mate. His rejection didn’t force her away, and for all those years, she lived by his side, dealing with the pain of seeing him every day.
Abandoned at birth and left with the Masters pack, Misha tolerates her fate. But she cannot handle the risk of him taking someone else, and she plans to leave.
Decker doesn’t want her, but he won’t let her leave either.
She’ll show him.
Decker has only known Misha to be amenable, and now it’s time for him to see what happens without her help. With so many complaints and requests, running a pack is never easy.
Denying what he wants cannot last, and he feels the need to claim Misha for his own. When Decker decides to stop fighting, there’s no stopping him.
She is his mate, he’s never letting her go. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
The story was okay, but I'm getting too old for the plethora of sex scenes in stories. This just had too much sex in it. I know, I know...that shouldn't be a thing, but like I say...I must be getting too old to read stories that are mostly sex with a side of story.
First I bought this by accident, still read it though as I like rejected mat trope. However this didn't have what I liked. I'd rather feel all the emotions and hurt. Then the happiness when they come together. This book didn't have any of that. Yes Misha kept repeating she was rejected and hurt. However, as a reader I didn't feel those emotions.
They got their HEA But O skimmed to read that as from 50% of the book it was a smex fest.
It’s just push and pull repeatedly with no real development.
Misha = Pull Decker = Push
Misha (h) is a doormat and her personality was all over the place. When she claims she’s officially done, what that means is that she will roll over and spread her legs for Decker (H) no matter how he treats her or what he does.
Then she pouts and gets angry afterwards. That happens continuously.
Decker is annoying. His logic: I don’t want her but no one else can have her, she can’t leave and she can’t date anyone else. She will die alone and be unhappy but eh, she’ll be fine.
Then he changes his mind after having a little breakthrough during a tree ass-kicking session (he beats trees when he’s upset. Mean, I know) and decides to be with her anddddd we’re back to the push and pull.
Now: Misha = Push Decker = Pull
That’s all that happens for 51% of the book. That’s it. Nothing else. How exciting.
The last release Size Matters and this release have been huge disappointments. I’ve been reading several reviews about how Sam’s writing is getting worse which I stubbornly denied as a longtime follower.. but I’m starting to understand those reviews now.
Let me be clear. It’s not the writing style that is abysmal. It’s the lack of drive, passion, creativity, imagination for story creation; that is the growing issue.
Regardless, I will continue to read Sam’s releases for the time being. I’m not giving up on her yet.
Okay, at first I was totally upset with Decker for rejecting Misha as his mate. I did, however, love the way she got mad and started making his life a living.....well you know what! But as I kept reading, I found out WHY he had rejected her and my anger melted away. I was still ticked but I finally understood. The story is beautiful and even though Misha caves and they start having s#x, she ends up walking away afterwards leaving him hanging! I loved it! It gave him a little bit of his own medicine. We also find out her backstory which is heartbreaking. I just loved this story so much. There's no OW drama, the pack loves her for who she is and in fact, they are upset with Decker because he has rejected her. That was a change that I enjoyed. Well written, this story kept me entertained until the end and I love that Ms. Crescent always gives her readers a glimpse into the characters future!!
Really liked this one. Sam crescent can be hit or miss and this one was a hit. The writing wasn’t riddled with grammatical or spelling errors, there wasn’t endless repetition of the same thing over and over and the hero wasn’t a manwhore!
I loved that even tho he didn’t think he could mate with with Misha, he kept other men away from her and didn’t stick his dick into anyone else either. SWOON!!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned, but it’s explicitly stated he hasn’t been with anyone since knowing h is his mate. Heroine is innocent and gives hero the gift of claiming all her firsts. No others, no cheating or abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue
I love the trope of rejected mates but as Sam writes more in the series, the worst the writing gets. As an author she has so much potential. But this one felt like very rushed
Am certain am still reading Sam Crescent's books out of loyalty,i mean her books used to soak my panties and have me on edge cause of the gripping storyline! I don't know what happened but the stories started going down the toilet and seem to going further down the shit pipeline,if it's not violence passed of as romance then it's the doormat and asshole storyline(this one the asshole is indecisive 🙄).....and the repetitive and reused storylines are becoming stale and rushed like this one.
“Everything in her life told her that she was so way off base. There was no one out there looking down on her.”
“She had no idea who her parents were as she’d been abandoned in a forest after being alive for just a couple of weeks”
Misha Parks is a wolf shifter, age 21 and she has had the calling to mate with the packs alpha since she was 18 years of age. Misha is beautiful, curvy, independent and has a heart of gold… but she is lonely. Abandoned by her parents when she was just a few weeks old she was “adopted” by the pack and raised by their brand of foster system. She always felt of kilter, she always felt lonely and like she didn’t quite belong… tho the pack was her family and she loved them, she felt like they pitied her more than anything else.
“Decker doesn’t have the right to know what I do. He forfeited that right when he rejected me in front of the entire pack. He can go and suck on his dick for all I care”
So when her mate rejects her in front of the whole pack, Misha feels even more out of sorts, more lonely and feels even more like she’s the pity case of town.
“Dad, Misha is…” “Your mate. You can pretend you don’t have feelings for her, but we all know you’re talking out of your ass. You love her. You want to mate with her”
Decker Master is also a Wolf shifter and he is the packs Alpha. He is 45 years old and as lived his life without a mate until Misha became of age. When that happened and he felt her calling, Decker rejected his mate in front of the whole town… despite that fact, it hasn’t been a day, when he hasn’t had to fought his attraction towards her.
Decker is whole alpha, imposing, commanding, a wall of muscles and testosterone.
“What are you doing?” she asked. “What are you doing?” he asked. She rolled her eyes. “I’m trying to get home.” “Misha, I’m not an idiot.” “Could have fooled me.”
Decker as a very good reason for having rejected his mate. I get it. He was traumatized and didn’t wanted to go through that again, neither wanted to have to impose that on anyone else. Still, the guy was a dick… First he could’ve had the talk with his father many, many years ago… also he could’ve talked to her. Explain, tell her the truth… let her decide…
“Dad, I’m not discussing my personal business with you.” “Well, that tells me you fucked up big time, doesn’t it?”
Yep… he fucks up really badly… SEVERAL TIMES!!! I don’t even know how Misha still wants him. Must be a wolf/mate thing, cause God was he a crappy hero/mate.
What I liked: I really liked the side character Blueberry. Hopefully she gets a book. I also felt the reason the Decker(H) rejected Misha(h) was understandable. After knowing his mom couldn’t handle being a alpha’s wife he truly was afraid the Misha wouldn’t be able to either.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how quickly Misha(h) has sex with Decker(H) when he rejected her and made her suffer for 3 years. Also, I wished we got to actually read the rejection instead it just being mentioned.
Descriptive Sex: Yes
Major Spoilers/ Triggers/Details: H (who is the alpha of the pack) rejected the h 3 years ago and the h no longer wants to be there seeing the H daily. She goes to ask if she can leave the pack. This is hard for the h because she truly loves the pack she is with now . We find out that the h was actually from another pack and that she was told her parents didn’t want her(so the H rejecting her was actually the second time someone rejected her). The H tells her no. The h decides to make the H suffer and stops helping out (which she did a lot for the pack). H gets mad and goes to her. H proceeds to take the h’s virginity in the woods but stops when he realizes that he is her first. h is upset and stops being her happy self. H realizing that he made a mistake decides to finally make her his. h gives in and they have sex. During that time the H is showing her that he wants her and won’t hurt her ever again. h gets pregnant and H ups and leaves her when she tells him. He goes to his dad and ask about his mom (H’s mom committed suicide because she couldn’t handle being the alpha’s mate) and that is why he rejected the h (he is afraid she will do the same). h upset that H walk out after telling him she is pregnant goes to her friend. H goes and finds her and tells her why he rejected her. H and h work together to help a pack member. They finally mate. HEA with H and h five years later.
Final thoughts: This was an ok read for me. I would have liked it a lot more if the h would have made the H suffer more.

We had such potential here. We have a fmc who has been treated like dirt, she's had enough, she stands her ground...and then she just loses her mind because he's hot. Like every other heroine...in every boring book. He has literally treated her like crap for 3 years. After publicly rejecting her. He has ordered that no other male can touch her. He won't let her leave. He lies to her face. And boom, next thing you know they're mated and everything is great. No! Stop it with the doormat heroines. An I'm sorry doesn't make it all better. Neither does the fact that a guy is hot or good in bed. I was so excited for this book and I'm so disappointed. Besides the fact she's a doormat, there's really nothing here. We see no build up, we don't get in on the actual rejection or anything that happened the past 3 years. We don't feel a connection other than the bond telling them to have sex. We don't have world or lore building. There's just he's hot, he's treated me like dirt, but he's hot, so I'm gonna bang him. Ugh. Just ugh.
Plot: Misha came to the pack as a baby, orphaned but now cared for. She is an integral part of the pack, able to do any job that comes up. When she comes of age, she's happy to learn that her mate is none other than the sexy older alpha Decker, but he rejects her. Decker has some trauma left over from his childhood that has made him reject Misha despite loving her. Can these two resolve their issues and live happily ever after?
Commentary: This was a nice departure from a lot of this author's stories in that the heroine is not bullied because of her weight. She is almost universally loved in town. She works on a sort of rotation, taking shifts in the diner, the library, and city hall. She can even charm the crankiest old man in town who spends all his time complaining. I thought it was funny that she spends time at city hall, since that puts her in close contact with her alpha mate - it seems to satiate her need to be near him, as much as it hurts, and it riles up Decker. I hated his stupid excuse - I mean, the excuse itself made sense, but it's something he should have dealt with long since (or barring that, his father should have done something about it - useless alpha).
3 stars, this is one of the better Sam Crescent books I’ve read in this series.
As the rejected mate trope has soared in popularity recently I’ve come to realize that *the reason* for the rejection can be laughably flimsy in some books. This is one of those. H’s mother couldn’t handle the pressure of being mated to his father (the alpha, at the time) and she killed herself. So he doesn’t want to subject h to that. On the surface it’s not the worst one I’ve come across but it doesn’t hold weight either.
This h, Misha, has a slightly sturdier backbone than most of this authors heroines but not by much. This H does do a bit more than follow h around apologizing and demanding forgiveness but is still lacking overall.
However, if you like this trope and enjoy this author this is definitely better than most of her books. I read her to find good ones like this. Honestly though, even her bad ones are pretty entertaining though occasionally infuriating.
She put a lot more of emotion into this one which is what her stories often lack. I hope she keeps up this trend.
Virgin h No OW/ OM drama No cheating No scenes with others No separation HEA
Safety - definitely safe. H remains celibate during the three years before he finally claimed her. He beat up any man who was interested in h.

This author seems to have an unhealthy obsession to overweight/curvy women as heroines. Dont get me wrong. All type of body types should be inclusive. But making the body type as a primary plot point so much that the book seems like a ridiculous attempt at a overweight teenager trying to project her insecurities through an imaginary narrative is seriously pitiful. Look at this- a pack alpha who is more than two decades older than this h rejects her and what does she think the reason is? Because she is fat. Well sound familiar? Yes. This is a recurring theme in almost ALL her shifter books. All her heroines are curvy and rejected because of that. Really?! Is it a YA Wattpad novel or what? There's absolutely no character depth or layers to the character's personalities. It's all flat and stupid. Even the length of the book can't be an excuse because there are authors who can weave a fairly good stories with amazingly layered and believable characters in as much as 100 pages. Anyway I will add one more star because there was some angst.

I was so excited to get this book because I have really enjoyed the past Alpha Shifter collection books, especially the bully ones. This one was a bit weak. Decker, a much older alpha of the pack, rejects his mate Misha who he actually loves. He warns all of the other men off her and she has kind of been in a holding pattern for 3 years. She finally decides it's time to leave the pack if she ever wants to have a family but Decker refuses to let her go. Misha tries to make his life difficult and Decker starts finding it hard to not be with her. This is low, very low angst as the reason for Decker not wanting to mate with Misha is lame. The dude is like 45 years old, he should be mature enough to get over his very minor hangups and could have talked to his father about it many times, especially in the last 3 years. There was really no reason for Decker to have hurt his mate like this especially knowing that Misha was basically abandoned as a child and has no family.
Being rejected by her mate never stopped Misha from moving on with her live. But it was time to leave the pack. She wasn’t about to stay in a pack where the alpha and her fated mate didn’t want her. She wanted love, a family and children. It wasn’t going to happen staying with his pack. Decker wasn’t about to let Misha go. Yes, he pushed her away three years ago but he didn’t want her to leave. He hadn’t told her why he kept her away. Regret is more what Decker goes through. Having to grovel and beg isn’t Alpha but Misha dealt with his BS for three years. She deserved better. Her past is sad and hidden. Every time Decker messed up, I wanted to slap him. UGH, he needs Misha to pull his head out of his butt. That woman is so much better than he is. She is smart, strong, and has a big heart.
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Rejected by the alpha is the fourteenth book in the ‘’alpha shifter’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Misha has been hurt by the rejection of her mate for three years. Decker is the pack alpha. He had his reasons for rejecting Misha but will he see sense before it’s too late? The chemistry between Decker and Misha is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I look forward to more books from this series.
This is another great book added to the shifter collection! I loved these two! Decker is the Alpha of the pack, and has rejected his mate he's loves her but is scared to claim her. Misha feels humiliated by him even hates him, but still wants him at the same time. They try to stay away from each other but the pull is too strong. I loved the push and pull between them and the chemistry was off the charts. This is a five-star read! Highly recommend the whole series! I can't wait to read what Sam'

I love this collection from Sam Crescent. In the latest book, Alpha Decker "rejects" Misha for unknown reasons at the beginning of the book. As the book progresses, and Decker gets his head out of his arse, the story evolves and you find out the real reason for the rejection. After you get over wanting to throttle him, you begin to cheer that Misha makes it hard for him.
This is a fast paced book that provides a HEA, no cheating, and a typical Sam Crescent epilogue. I love her epilogues! Great read!!
Rejected by The Alpha by Sam Crescent * * * * * A read that was much longer than expected which was fabulous on top of a great plot. What happens when you get rejected by alpha in public? You become a source of gossip and pity sympathy. Though the rejection is not at all what she thinks. Even when she tries to move on or so much as speak to another male, he is there. Now as a last resort, she has decided to leave the pack...which he declines. Stuck in a pack attracted to someone who doesn't want her, and the chemistry is sky high. And things are only about to get more complicated.
3.5 ?! Wasn’t a fan of how self absorbed the H was. Everytime anything new happened, the bitch boy ran. Spoiler alert man, everything is not about you. Get over yourself and your trauma. Super selfish throughout the book. Didn’t mate for three years because he was scared the h would kill herself like his mom did. Leaves mid sex because he freaks about her virginity, despite making sure she can’t fuck anyone else. Leaves mid pregnancy announcement, ding ding ding to run again to his daddy about his mommy trauma. Sir please cry about your issues somewhere else
The rest was fine.

The male lead lost me when he never mustered the courage to get the woman he wanted - his mate btw. I'm all for an angsty rejected mate story, but unless you're really just desperate for a quicky read and nothing taxing on the brain...I wouldn't quite recommend this because it was honestly too...sappy? Sad? Emo? Lame?
It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best either.
While u do love books by Sam, this one wasn't one of my favorites. I liked the characters and there were some moments that were awesome which I have come to expect from Sams books, but this one just fell a little flat for me. Just when you get into the book the ending is rushed and its over. I done mind a short book sometimes but I don't like being rushed.
Fav part: 😂😂“Hey. I didn’t invite you.” “I’m not a vampire.” “Fuck off!” 🐺🐺🐺Different than the other stories, in a way was kinda hoping (even though I always want a HEA) this might be the story where She turns things around on the Alpha who rejected her and She finds her next mate and he suffers watching her be happy... but am glad things worked out as they did😉

This book was as always good and amazing and such a wonderful read. The alpha rejected for reasons that were sad, but read the book and you will find out what happens lol.
