Gabriella – Gabby for short – desperately needs a holiday. She's worked way too hard, just lost her father and wants a break. From everything. She books a stay at a picturesque cottage by the sea. No phone, no internet, no neighbors – just books, a bottle of wine and the beach. A month without distraction and a chance to find herself again.
Until a hunk of a guy suddenly shows up catching her sunbathing in her birthday suit. The man is hot as sin. Jake Wolfe is cocky and stubborn too.
Double booked. Double trouble.
Stuck on an island with a stranger, they try to make the best of it, but get on each other's nerves. When a drunken night leads to steamy passion, they realize something's brewing, and like the unpredictability of stormy weather, things could get rough.
Overall, it was a pretty entertaining book. After all, I finished it in a day. There were a few grammar choices that I didn’t prefer, but then again, I’m not the author. I was able to stay hooked and ended up purchasing the other two in the series. Would recommend if you’re looking for a lighter read with a little smut. 😉
Ok I’m a super big fan of Lexy Timms and have read many of her books. A couple of things about this one..
1. Gabby is a super bitch to Jake, it is unnecessary how mean she was to him 2. Lexy needs a new proofreader….she can hire me for alot less. There were misspellings, grammatical errors and in the beginning the Uber driver asked Gabby the same question 2x. 3. The cover shows a female with brown hair but the book says she is blonde 4. The cover also shows a house on the shore. That is not how the book describes things.
I am vested in this series and will read the 2nd book….maybe I’ll be able to have the first review like I did the first book.

I'm surprised I finished this book since the story involved so much vulgar and inappropriate language. This made the characters crude and showed no real love for one another. The "non-ending" was the last straw. I felt highjacked because I really didn't have an ending. No wonder I got it for free as it is a common to buy the other books. Totally disappointed and as a result I will choose to avoid Lexy Timms books.
The narrative was captivating and immersive. However, I find it deeply dissatisfying when a literary work concludes with an unresolved plotline, commonly referred to as a "cliffhanger." This literary device often strikes me as a manipulative tactic employed by authors solely for the purpose of increasing book sales.
The story line was good, even though it was predictable. What I didn't like was crudness used in the sex scenes. It would have been better to have left something to the imagination and used less crude words.
Not only was the female character a shrew and male character a big dummy for deciding to stay when she was already there, the stupid story is a cliffhanger. The author is trying to suck you into buying the rest of this crappy story.
I thought this was going to be good.. stared nice and I liked the main characters.. at first. Jake really is *chef's kiss* though Gabby really started to get on my nerves... if this was supposed to be enemies-to-lovers stranded on an island it's poorly done.
I had to DNF 60% in. I wanted to love this book so bad because the story line has SO much potential. The main character, gabby, is god awful when she could be having the best sex of her life on a beach with a hot man. Why didn’t the book go that way? 😭
The book began with the promise of becoming interesting. Unfortunately, the author saw a need to develop sexual exploits instead of the story itself. Too bad and very disappointing.
Unique storyline, funny moments, humble compromises, and heart-felt emotions. Got interipted (thanks mom) reading the final three chapters. But all and all, I really loved this book. This author, the few books I've read, thanks, @bookbub, have been great. I am very grateful for every deal or freebie I receive.
