About 40 percent of the general population reports some fear of flying.
For Nicole Jensen, this is more than just a statistic. It's a reality she lives with daily. So when Nicole is thrust into planning a convention out of state, she soon realizes that she might have to face that fear head-on.
Enter Nash Taylor, former playboy pilot, occasional as$hole, and way too good-looking for Nicole to take seriously. But the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that Nash is way more than what she thought, and falling for him becomes harder and harder.
Without realizing it, Nicole and Nash need each other in ways neither of them expected. But will Nicole’s past hinder their connection or allow it to take off?
S.A. Clayton lives in a small town outside of Toronto, Canada with her husband and her scary large collection of books that seem to take over every room. She has worked on both sides of the publishing industry, both in a bookstore and for actual publishing companies. Although she loved both for different reasons, she found that writing was her true passion and has spent the last few years breaking into the industry as best she can. She is a lover of all things romance and began her writing journey in her late twenties. Since then, she has immersed herself in the romance genre and couldn't be happier. When she's not writing or reading, she enjoys binging a great Netflix show (Stranger Things anyone?), baking (because who doesn't love cookies!), and spending time with her family.
Booktok fail. This was just not my lane. I rolled my eyes so many times during this read I almost gave myself a headache. I only finished bc it became so hilariously bad it became entertaining. The guy couldn’t decide on a personality so it just changed from one page to the next. The romance literally developed out of thin air, apparently if you sit in your car long enough some gorgeous dude is going to fall in love with you. Super disappointed.
I’ve been a fan of this author for a while now. She writes well thought out storylines in a short number of pages. That means she is really good with insta romance and novella length books. She’s been good at it from the beginning. I’m mentioning this because, as you’ve read in the blurb, Nicole has a fear of flying. Her fear is tied up to a whole other set of circumstances and because of that, it isn’t something that can be wham-bam fixed, if you get my drift. If you don’t, you’ll find out when you read the book LOL Tackling such a plot-point in a novella can be tricky because if it isn’t fleshed out and properly unfolded, it could ruin the entire story. I was surprised when I started this story and realized what the author decided to tackle, but I shouldn’t have been because she did it respectfully and with grace and it made this story even more enjoyable!
I enjoyed this story a lot. Both Nash and Nicole grew as characters as their relationship grew and none of it felt rushed or insta in any way. The choices the author made for all facets of this story fit well with the romance journey. Sweet, sexy, and swoony; what more could you ask for? Lol
Nicole is a front runner for a promotion at work but one of the key elements when it comes to who will be chosen requires organizing a convention and that means facing her biggest fear which is getting on a plane.
Flying is a large part of who he is so when Nash returned to his hometown he started a business to teach others to fly. From the moment he sees Nicole he is drawn to her in a way he never expected but he can also see that she is absolutely terrified at the thought of getting into a plane.
Nash is so understanding when it comes to Nicole especially once he learns what is behind her fear of flying while Nicole is brave as she tries to heal, and they both learn a lot about life and love along the way.
This was a fast read about two people who were put together to help one of them get over their fears.
Nic and Nash had a great build up to the romantic aspect of the relationship. He was super sweet with her and I loved how much he was doing in order to help her. I loved that she knew her limitations and was not afraid to speak of them. The fight she had to do in order to fully commit to him and their feelings was a thing of beauty.
Each book SA Clayton writes it just shows how much she has to offer to the book community and I'm here for it.
I'm a tad disappointed in this because it has great bones, characters you want to know, A premise rarely used...sadly, though it started out well, for me, it fell apart when it should have been getting richer...this could very easily be my deficiency so give it a go to see what you think...
Nic has a major fear of flying that's not been an issue until trying for a promotion means she has to finally face that fear. That's where Nash comes in - a playboy pilot who now runs his own business. Nic knows to steer clear of him, he could decimate her heart in ways she's really not in the frame of mind to survive. But when he starts to show her a different side, will she let him into her heart?
Grief can be overwhelming. Sometimes romantic and otherwise, fiction, can gloss over this fact. Private Instructor didn't gloss over it or sweep it under the rug, and the story was better for it. It was handled with care, nothing over the top, but was definitely present in every part of Nic's life. I like how Nash handled it, and how near the end, how Nic handled it. I always love it when the playboy is reformed by attraction, then love, and this is a classic case of it with two lovable characters who share a strong emotional and physical connection. Definitely a wonderful addition to the Cocky Hero Club.

You are not going to want to miss private Instructor my non other favorite then the very talented S.A Clayton. This was such a fantastic addition to the cocky hero series - a series that is one my my very favorites and should not be missed .Nash and Nic are two of the most likable and relatable characters you will ever meet . When we first meet Nicole is becomes clear that she has suffered a trauma that is related to flying . This hasn’t had much impact on her life until now , as she is up for a promotion at work and is asked to organize a convention out of state . She must not find a way to face her fear . How will she do that ? All that’s where Nash comes in .Nash is a former pilot who recently opened his own business as a flight instructor. Nash is your typical playboy or at least that how it first appears ( he does not do relationships. But all that changes when Nicole comes into his life . I just loved watching the development of their relationship, it was truly beautiful to see how Nash was so patient with her , the way he helped her overcome her fear of flying and the love and support he showed her when it came to her panic attack. What a emotional rollercoaster. If you are looking for a story that has all the feels then look no further. Private Instructor has it all . It’s steamy , emotional, angsty , fun , sexy and I can guarantee it will pull at all your heartstrings. S.A Clayton has once again blown my mind - in the best way possible ❤️🖤
This was a really good short read. It wasn't an insta-love, it was instant attraction that was allowed to become more. It's a relatively short book, so it did all happen kind of quick, but it didn't feel rushed to me. There are minor time jumps in which it's assumed they've had some more time to connect and learn a little bit about each other. And while sometimes I feel like I've missed something because of those, S.A. Clayton did a good job of not letting that happen here.
The chemistry between these two was wonderful. The spice was excellent. Their brief time apart was even something I understood. It was explained well, if briefly, and for me that means I wasn't annoyed by it like I am in other certain scenarios.
All in all, a really good read. I don't know if I want to read the rest of the books involved in this universe, but that's just because this is the only one written by this author. All the books in this 'series', if you want to call it that, are written by different authors, so I'm not sure what I think about that. Gonna have to see further down the road. But this one? This one I highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick read that will make you smile and swoon.
This is a fantastic addition to this amazing series and this author has done a phenomenal job in weaving this tale. Nicole has a debilitating fear of flying, and when she is tasked to organize a convention out of state, she knows that she is going to have to overcome her fear. Nash is a former playboy pilot, who opened his own business with a friend as a flight instructor. Nash is content living his life with no relationships, but from the moment he meets Nicole the lines become blurred. Nash is determined to help Nic overcome her fear and researches how to help her with her panic attacks. This is a beautifully written story which is emotionally charged, and has anxiety, undeniable chemistry, engaging and realistic characters, passion, communication, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
A Cocky Hero who has swoon down to a tee, a true hero in every sense of the word, Private Instructor is tender, it's emotionally it's great!
Nic has had a phobia about flying since her parent's death but nothing has worked to overcome it, but she needs to if she is going to have any chance of a new job, as a last resort she is going to try and take flying lessons, but she wasn't expecting the instructor Nash to be quite so big, quite so pushy but more importantly quite so sexy. Now not only does the thought of getting in the plane send her heart rate up so does Nash. Nash doesn't do relationships but from the first touch of Nic's hand he knows he is in big trouble, and not only does he hope he can get Nic off the ground he hopes he can prove he is not as cocky as everyone makes him out to be.
Nic is petrified to fly, and the reasoning behind it is absolutely understandable. She's up for a promotion at work, but she has to organize an out of state convention if she wants a shot at which is going to be a problem. Nash is our resident playboy pilot who has his own business teaching people to fly. He doesn't do relationships, but he never saw Nic coming. See, the moment he really started to get to know her, he jumped in with both feet at doing anything & everything to help her out which really did a number on my heart. Nic is gun shy about Nash since she knows that he would do a negative number on her heart but you know, never say never. These two were wonderful together and I simply couldn't get enough of their story. S.A. Clayton penned the perfect story to add to this fantastic world that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Nicole is dealing with some trauma related to her fear of flying. Forced into confronting her fear, she meets Nash, who encourages her as well as stirs her libido. But her past and her fears are deeply connected, and Nic may have some work to do before she considers herself worthy of Nash. But will his patience extend that far?
This book worked in a way that I didn't expect. Nash teaches people who are passionate about wanting to fly planes, while Nic was deathly scared of flying on a plane. But as they interacted and grew closer, it was plain that they had chemistry.
This is another good addition to the Cocky Hero Club series, and I recommend it.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
Nicole loves her job but when she has to travel out of state for a job well things are about not going well. She's scared to get on a plane and for good reason. She doesn't think she can do this job, but when she enlists the help of a flight instructor things may change. Nash is a pilot that teaches others to fly planes. He's good at what he does and when a friend asks for a favor he doesn't turn them down. However, when he meets Nicole he has his work cut out for him. Can he help her get over her fear of flying? These two have chemistry and not only will they have to get through the flying but also their instant love. Can Nicole trust Nash both with her fear and her heart? This book will leave you wanting more as they melt your heart.
Nicole is trying to get a promotion but in order to do that she needs to organize a convention out of state but the problem is that she has a fear flying and she will have to try to overcome it in order to accomplish the task. Nash is a pilot who opened his own business, but for him being a playboy is part of life with no attachments until he meets Nicole and his world is turned upside down. This page turning story deals with the emotional issues of anxieties with brio! You will feel the characters and their fears and their chemistry will jump off the pages. Great addition to the Hero Club. I volunteered to review this story.
Private Instructor by S.A. Clayton is part of the Cocky Hero Club and is inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward's Cocky Pilot. You don't have to have read Cocky Pilot to enjoy this one. This is a good short quick read. Nicole (Nic) is afraid of flying and she has a good reason but her job is going to require her to fly. Nash is a pilot that now owns a flight school. Nash's friend Carter asked him to help Nic get over her fear. My first impression of Nash was that he was a grumpy guy but he was really great with Nic. I liked these two together. They have great chemistry and the story is nicely written
3.77 is about right for this quick read. I haven't read any of the other group of books that the story originates from, this is my first time reading this author. I enjoyed this book, I thought the quick emotional attachment was done well. It wasn't exactly insta love, but it was super quick. I thought the author did a really great job in showcasing anxiety in a person and I as a reader was quick to begin caring about both of these characters. The sexy time was hot. I would recommend to anyone looking for a short quick one off read with some spice.
Nicola’s parents died in a plane crash, since then there is no way she will ever get on a plane even after consulting with a therapist for nearly 3 years. Her therapist has one last thing to try and that’s to take control of her fears have have flying lessons. Nice can’t believe it, this is were her life get complicated trying to find out if she has the courage to try. Recommend
Wow! This was amazing. Nash and Nicole took my heart with them. I understood her fear and the way the author told it, gave us a glimpse into how this has affected her. I loved how Nash took control and helped her through it and even researched ways to help. It was touch and go but glad they made it work.
A sweet girl with fear as big as the word. A growly pilot who is able to slowly help her try to concur her fear. I found the characters well written. I could relate to nicole & her fear . It is hard when you are not able to control things. Nash was a total sweetheart to nicole doing everything possible to help her in anyway he could .
As always never judge a book by its cover ! Things aren’t always as they seem, as Nicole finds out. Nash a very hot flying instructor helps Nicole with her fear and maybe something more ? A good read and always good to read of other characters again.
I love this author but have to say I struggled with Nicole and the plot . Her character was just so over the top with the job, her parents deaths flying and her love life. Did not take to her at all.
Really cute, steamy, and heartfelt. I love a book that ticks all of the boxes, and this one did. If you're not into a fast paced, free fall into love, then this isn't for you. But if you love that, then definitely check this out.
Honestly, I wanted to love it. I really did. Especially since it’s such a short book, but I could only get half way before I just forgot about the book. There so much to this book to like, and relate to, but it just felt forced.

This book was in my opinion just average. The characters were easy to read about and the story itself was fine. Nothing overwhelmingly great but a general ok book.
Solid read. Good premise. Good level of spice and dirty talk - there are far spicier out there though… but I think that says more about me than this book…! Nice quick evening read.
I loved it! I like how it was short and to the point. I love how he was all in even when she hesitated. I just love books like this and their happily ever after.
