I liked this one the best so far.
Emma was great, she was adorable in the kitchen with her food wanting everyone to try it. Plus her little youngling helpers & how she gave them purpose.
Myk was a grump but he cared deeply for everyone. He had a big loss that took a toll on him but Emma helped him through it. He almost messed up from being stubborn but it got fixed. He also is obsessed with younglins & Emma pregnant lol

This was another fab story for the series and I loved the characters. Both were not looking for a mate but fate said otherwise ;) To go with their struggle of resisting each other, the story is filled with action, danger, twists, humour and steamy romance. It's a fun read and I'm looking forward to the next book :D

Well, I definitely have a thing for big, strong, grumpy, bossy and fiercely protective alien angels! And Myk - the Gryn's Weapon Master - is all that and so much more! He’s one fearsome, deadly, growly and vicious warrior. Even more, I loved his directness, dominance and possessiveness. And that dirty mouth of his!!! In addition, he’s so thoughtful and gives the most unusual gifts. This male is absolutely magnificent and I adored every single thing about him!
And Emma couldn’t be more perfect for him! She’s so sweet, kind and brave. And she’s always putting everyone’s happiness and wellbeing before her own. Well, she might be a gentle and caring woman, but angry Emma was utterly magnificent and terrifying! She’s absolutely amazing and I loved her so, so much!
I loved every single thing that happened between Emma and Myk. Neither wanted a relationship - one because of betrayal and the other because of guilt and revenge. But fate had other plans. These two were such opposites but so amazing together. And their chemistry was absolutely undeniable and out of this world hot! Their journey towards happiness was a bumpy one but I loved every step of it!
In addition, the worldbuilding and the storyline were absolutely phenomenal. I loved that we got to explore the markets of Ustokos. And then, there were the jaw-dropping twists and unexpected discoveries that kept me glued to the pages all night long.
Overall, the story is another remarkable addition to the series! It’s filled with fast-paced action, danger, twists, drama, humor, steamy romance and marvellous characters.
I loved it so much and cannot wait to see what happens next!

The fourth book in the first series on Ustokos, this is the story about Myk and Emma. She’s thirty years old is a chef. She loves to cook and bake and it lets her find a purpose in the aerie more than the other earth women ever had - apart from their mates. She’s also 5’9”, and I’m really happy to NOT be reading about a miniature woman. Older AND tall, hooray!
Some errors:
“It might not seem that like happiness is top of my agenda,…” — strike that
“I wish I knew what was going on his mind.” — on in his mind
“…like a iguana.” — an iguana
There is a reference to an earlier book, pairing that irritated me. “After all, they trusted me when I advised that we should let nature take its course with Kyt and allow him to mate.” Myk says this and I don’t recall any of the Gryn in this or the next series (which I started first) having to gain permission to mate. On the contrary, they gleefully enter into their relationships and it’s often while doing things they really ought not and have to beg forgiveness for after! But then Myk says things like, “If I believe you need mating, I will mate you where you stand,” and you move on.
But then he says, “You will never look as beautiful as you do now.” And dang it. So it’s all downhill from here? Thanks a lot, buddy.
But in all seriousness, I did like this couple. This installment also moves the overall series story arch along at a nice clip. I appreciate how the books are sequential in this way and not concurrently.

Myk is silent, damaged, intimidating, bossy, and a growly loner... to everyone... everyone but Emma. This bad boy alien is about to find out Emma is his kryptonite!
Emma was a chef on earth. She is kind, loving, and everyone that meets her loves her. Feeding people, and bringing people joy through food was her passion. After seeing what the alien’s live off of every day (roasted/burnt meat)... she decides to start experimenting in the kitchen with the alien ingredients. Before you know it… she is making meat pies, pastries, and so much more.
Next thing you know, Myk is at her table wanting to taste her creations (and possibly HER). We all know the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach… Myk is going to fall hard for this little cook!
Once again, the story was exciting, original, spicy, and engaging. I have not been able to put this series down since I picked it up. The world-building is fantastic and these characters are phenomenal! This series has kept me up all hours of the night on the edge of my seat to find out if they will overcome Protos… and find their mates! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Destroyer of all things
Myk makes all the weaponry for the Gryn. He's also the fiercest senior of the Gryn. Described by the Mochi as ' the destroyer', the end of all things. Unleashed as the ' fire' n 'force' of the Legion of the Gryn on anything, bot or organic which threaten the lair. As in a classic horror , his name would be mentioned by parents when children misbehave.
Emma works in the kitchens. She used to be a chef on Earth. Making all sorts pies n pastries with unfamiliar ingredients. It's trial n error as she strives to come up the perfect mix to achieve her goal. But the Gryn won't try anything new until they see a senior enjoy it.
Myk passes thru the kitchen n smells something delicious, reminding him of the meals made by his mother. He samples the food, moaning as flavors explodes in his mouth. When other Gryn see him enjoying the different cuisine they also try them. It's turns out to be so successful that even the mercs who make the maraha meat want to learn how to make the dough for the pies n pastries.
Myk continues to swipe pastries as he passed thru the kitchen from the forge, but it's because he's found his mate, he just doesn't know how to approach her .
Another good story by the author.

Fallen is my favorite this far in the series🔥💖🔥💖
Now that I've read the first 4 books in the series I can comfortably say that this is my favorite this far. Myk is my mind of warrior. Deadly, strong loyal and deep down a grumpy cuddly best for the one he loves. This is the story of the fierce weapons master a male with sorrow and vengeance in his heart until the day he sets his eyes on Emma and ears the delicious treats she cooks in the kitchen. Emma feels awkward and lonely she's been hurt in the last by someone who claimed to love her. All she wants to do is cook and feed people delicious food. And when the fierce weapons master tries her food and devours it she wants him to devour her as well. Both have painful pasts that are getting in the way of them opening up and being together. Just when they believe they are on the right track misunderstandings and danger lurk and try to pull them apart. But fate won't be challenged and these two hurt souls long to join and become whole. "I'm a lover not a fighter", except that Myk is the exact opposite. He has been nothing but a fighter for too long. He's almost forgotten what it fees like to love and be loved. The first recognition he gets of his eregri, he fights against it. He feels that he is unworthy of it and that he cannot be a mate, not truly, so he agrees to the worst scenario of having a baby with Emma. He doesn't need long with her to realise that he has totally naused it all up. He wants it all the mate, the thoughtbond, the family. Is there a way to come back from where he is? He's not a lover so what other options does he have? Bull in china shop is looking most likely. Emma does not have a great track record with men. She goes for the bad boys and ends up with heart ache. Looks like she's right on track with her current Gryn selection as well. Bad boy check, heading for heartbreak check. She's trying to find a purpose for herself so she's throwing herself into finding ingredients to make cakes, pastries, pies and Earth food in general. Except that there's that dark figure of Myk haunting her thoughts. Could he be different?

Kindle/audiobook (audible) - story starts midway through last book and continues past it. A bit of storyline repeats occur but from Emma and Myk perspectives. Myk is not looking for a mate but is interested in producing an offspring. He’s drawn to Emma and realizes after their first connection that she’s his fated mate. Emma the resident chef takes over the alien kitchen and improves the food. With this goal she convinces Kyt to take her to the outpost so she can see what food options there are available. Myk actually ends up taking her. While there they have to go to ground due to a chemical storm and discover an old base the gryn had before the war with proto. This helps them to more fully destroy the proto bots and electrical systems. Myk and Emma finally admit they want more and their feelings towards one another for a hea story ending. The fight with proto continues on into the next book.

A Gryn with a food kink!
Fallen is book 4 in the Rogue Alien Warriors series and they keep getting better!
Fallen dives deeper into the malicious AI that has overrun the planet of Ustokos and things are not at all as it seems! All my favorite Gryn are back to do battle yet again and some of the strong and sassy human women are still fighting for their place on this dystopian planet.
Myk; a stoic and quiet metal worker/weapons maker with a closed off heart is warring with his sense of duty and his true feelings for Emma. Emma; a withdrawn chef/baker has a big heart, but with deception and betrayal in her past she fights her growing attraction for Myk, her fated mate. And of course, drama and fun ensues and now I want a pastry… some fresh baked bread… a croissant… yum… maybe I am the one with a food kink!
Start the Rogue Alien Warrior series from the beginning since many characters and events carry from book to book. This series is too entertaining to miss a beat!

In the next book in the Rogue Alien Warriors series we meet Myk - the Gryn's Weapon Master. He is gruff, morose, a loner and hell bent on avenging his sister's death by destroying Proto who were responsible for her death.
Emma is a human abductee who is quickly becoming popular among the Gryn for introducing them to wonderful tasty food - other than the maraha - a beef like meat they have been eating. Emma has had her fill of men - sh'e been badly burned and is content with creating delicious meals for the aliens and humans living in the lair. But a chance meeting with Myk and sparks fly - unwanted on both sides.
Will Myk and Emma allow fate to work it's magic or will they decide to ignore the magic they feel in each other's presence.
This latest book is well worth the read as are all of Hattie jack's books.

I loved this book. Myk and Emma have such great chemistry. Emma enjoys baking and, working with alien ingredients, manages to make a whole bunch of pastries and treats not only for the human women, but for the alien warriors to try and broaden their diets. If only she could get them to try her baked goods. Myk is the gruff weapons master. He's a loner and has no interest in taking a mate, wanting only to destroy Proto in vengeance for his sister's death. He's the first to try any of Emma's food and can't get enough. He offers her advice on how to get the other Gryn males to try before pulling away. As much as he wants her, he can't take a mate until Proto is destroyed. I loved these two. They were a great match. This story is fun, and has action and danger. One of my favorites in this series. 5 stars.

Myk, the male alien lead, has a grievance to settle. Emma, the female human lead, doesn’t trust males. But they both want a baby so they agree to co-parent, starting the traditional way. Then Myk realises he wants more than that with Emma. Emma feels the same but she doesn’t want to. And there is still the alien AI they’re all trying to defeat…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a great fighting-the-attraction romance. I enjoyed both characters’ development, as well as the evolution of their relationship and the relationships and interactions with secondary characters who were leads in earlier stories in the series.

Emma is one of 5 women abducted from earth. The chef part of her wanted to get In there and put some decent food in there. They were eating mostly meat and little else. The warriors were slow to test her wares but eventually came around. Myk was one of the first to try. He also wants a child of his own and propositions her to have a child with him. No relationship just a child. Soon he realizes she is his fated mate and wants much more from their relationship. The story continues with an expected HEA. What a great installment in the series! Emma follows the age old saying, that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and Myk is the ultimate Gryn warrior with a love of good food. These two were made for each other! Of course they face challenges on the path to their HEA, not the least of which is Myk’s vow to give everything to end Proto, including, if necessary, his life. This story made me laugh, cry, and cheer them on! It had lots of steam, which means I will never look at a kitchen prep area the same way again! lol! I really love this twisted world with all its weirdness and struggle. What a great story!

Awe
I always wondered about Myk the weapons master. He always seemed so distant and grumpy. This book was amazing. So much angst, and suspense. Action every where of every kind. I really love that this whole thing with females is uncharted territory for the Gryn who lost their females when many of them were young so it's got a lot of confusion, and shyness and amusing moments with the males as well as the females who are dealing with a new planet, new situations and more than one new species. Myk and Emma were perfect for each other even if it was a whole lot of pushing and pulling to get them together eventually. Loved it.

I really love that this whole thing with females is uncharted territory for the Gryn who lost their females when many of them were young so it's got a lot of confusion, and shyness and amusing moments with the males as well as the females who are dealing with a new planet, new situations and more than one new species. Myk and Emma were perfect for each other even if it was a whole lot of pushing and pulling to get them together eventually. Loved it.

I love Myk but somewhere in the middle, this story fell off.
I feel like part of the book was removed, but the most important part was the communication between the main characters. They went from agreeing to keep a business arrangement to suddenly being in love.
I also found the characters' backstories and details around them vague. There was no clear sequence of events or reasonings to justify their actions. This made their misbeliefs look foolish and have a lot of holes I couldn't get past.

The fourth book in the Rogue Alien Warriors series another great story. Myk is the rogue alien warrior’s brooding weapons master who helps Emma out. She is trying to get the people to eat what she is making, on Earth she was a chef. I enjoyed seeing their story come together, there is suspense, drama, danger, evil Proto, and two hurting people who find love. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I did I gave it a five 🌟 rating. This was my favorite book by far. Myk and Emma were the best characters I’ve read about in a while. The storyline was good. I felt the anguish and pain they were feeling. I really was rooting for them throughout the whole book. Sure there were a few bobbles of wording and such. But even so I read through cuz dude! It was that good for me. Others might not think so. But to each his own right

Great continuation
The overarching storyline continues to get better with a nice little twist in the plot at the end. The characters in this storyline I think I expected more from. Hence why only 4 stars. I usually like the dark and broody ones but he wasn’t quite gnarly enough. The fmc was sweet and unassuming and I didn’t warm to her in the same way as the others. Still a solid storyline.

Emma was a cutie and I was excited for her book. She had all the sunshine vibes to counter Myk’s frowny demeanor. They were a sweet couple that both had some commitment issues to work through.
The main plot in this book felt a bit off, but it could be that it’ll all clear up in the next book.

Two Toughened Hearts
This story is Emma and Myk’s, the bubbly chef and the grumpy forge master. These two have some hurdles to work through, but happily ever after prevailed. I enjoyed both the romance aspect of this story (whoowee hot!) and the fight against Protos storyline. I’m excited for Bianca’s story next - she’s such an enigma!

You Have To Read This Book
So far this is my favorite book in this series. A lot more fighting the bad guy. Lots of love scenes that tell all. Would not have guessed that these two would end up mating. Emma always came across as such a prude compared to the other women, but not anymore.

The Way to a Man’s Heart
This book reminded me of that old saying about the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. It was interesting, intense and wonderful. I loved Emma and Myk and their romance. Great story.
