Rising Star was a fun and sweet romance between two people who seemingly wanted very different things in life. Would they be able to find a compromise?
It was fun to return to Bluestar Island and catch up with characters from previous books. However, if you have not read any of the other books in the series, you can still pick up Rising Star and enjoy it fully.
Emma and Noah had both become disillusioned in their lives. Emma ended up being publicly humiliated and not sure that her career path as a singer was going to go any farther. Noah had been a successful hedge fund investor until his health gave him a big wake up call. These two characters had to decide what was important in their lives, if the futures they had planned for were possible, and if they had room in those futures for new love.
I really liked the meet cutes in the beginning of this story for Noah and Emma. It set them up to be at odds with each other. It was fun watching them overcome those initial feelings and begin to give into the attraction that was pulling them together.

Jennifer Faye always delivers such sweet, heartwarming books. Her Bluestar Island Series is truly her best series, to date.
The plot Ms. Faye incorporated with Rising Star was unique, fun, and exciting.
Emma Bell has returned to Bluestar Island after winning a singing contest and trying her talents in Nashville. When her famous fiancé cheats on her, she knows home is the only place she can mend.
Noah Sullivan, a newcomer to the Island, wants a sedate and relaxing place to start over since leaving the busy life of Chicago. An accident, which nearly took his life, he’s determined to make Bluestar his sanctuary.
When Emma and Noah meet, they both find they need one another, but have two different desires for their futures.
When one of their pasts come back to haunt, can they survive?
A beautifully written book which will stay with readers, forever.

We are back in Bluestar Island where some come for a visit and stay and others leave in order to spread their wings.

Rising Star by Jennifer Faye is the fourth book in the Bluestar Island series, and even though I’ve only read the first book, Love Blooms, it was like I’ve never left. Bluestar Island is a small island off the coast of Massachusetts with a big heart. There are many gossipers, but everyone pitches in when needed to lend a helping hand. There are family and friends along with small businesses, lots of beach fronts, spectacular views, a farm, goats, tourists in season, and the first concert on the Beach Summer Spectacular.
Rising Star is Noah and Emma’s story, who meet by chance desiring the same taxi to get from the airport to the ferry. However, saying it didn’t go the way Noah wanted is an understatement.
The two never expected their paths to cross again, but it repeatedly does. Emma’s come home from tour and is rethinking her life while back home on Bluestar Island. Should she continue her music career and return to Nashville after getting an unexpected surprise from her now ex-fiancé? Or should she figure out what to do next with her life and how to start writing music and songs again?
It was wonderful to see how Emma and Noah put their issues behind them and how their friendship grows when they are forced to work together on setting up the concert. He’s building the stage, and she’s in charge of everything else when her future sister-in-law, Aster, gets called away.
Noah’s new to the island after giving up his high-stress job in finance due to medical issues. He’s now trying to eat right, exercise, and keep his stress in check. How’s that going with Emma there at every turn? Everyone on the island can see what’s happening between them except for Noah and Emma.
I liked that characters we’ve met before are woven throughout. Emma’s family helped ground Emma even if they all have their own lives. Emma also reconnects with friends and neighbors that help make the island home. There are beautiful descriptions that made me feel like I was there.
Many stories are told, and they flow together nicely. The quick-paced tale held my interest from the first page to the last. Some conflicts need to be resolved, all are dealt with admirably, and the happily ever after was sublime. I loved the closure given in the epilogue but also loved the bonus epilogue, which takes place one year later even more.
Ms. Faye is an author who writes contemporary romances with heart. Her characters have depth, and the vivid descriptions make it easy for me to envision the locations. I look forward to reading more of her books and have added some to my always-growing TBR pile!

Jennifer Faye’s Blue Star Island is one place I love to return to in books, and with Rising Star we get island native Emma Bell’s story.
When Emma left the island to pursue her dreams, she didn’t count what a difficult fight it would be to make it in Nashville. Then the unthinkable happens and Emma decides to return home to recover. And that’s when she meets Noah, but not in the most positive light. Hey, at least they had a memorable first meeting.
Emma and Noah’s connection isn’t immediate, but once they get over their initial meetings, that spark ignites between them and keeps burning. I appreciated how Faye brought her characters together and put them in different stressful situations to make their connection stronger. And there’s always that lingering question about Emma’s music career.
I’m thrilled to see there will be at least one more book in the series because I’m not ready to say goodbye to this little community or the people in it yet.

The Bluestar Island books by Jennifer Faye have quickly become some of my favorite clean romance books. Rising Star is the latest in the series, and it’s just as wonderful as the pror books.
Rising Star stars Emma Bell fresh off her country music tour. She’s becoming disillusioned with her career that’s not progressing like she thought it would. After all, she was the opening band for the opening band and only got to sing the two songs that got her noticed. She’s unable to come up with new songs and feels like she may never be able to write another. So, instead of heading back to her home in Nashville, she heads to her childhood home on Bluestar Island.
Noah Sullivan is a new Bluestar Island resident, and since homes are hard to come by on this small island, he’s in a big hurry to get back to the island to meet with his realtor for a walk-through of a home he would love to own.
As fate would have it, Emma and Noah have a meet-cute that’s not so cute. However, as the two get to know each other, they can’t deny the chemistry developing between them.
In addition to Emma and Noah, Rising Star includes characters from the previous books, though you can read this as a stand-alone. I always enjoy reading series in order since I feel a greater connection to the characters from the prior books. And, the books before Rising Star are completely worth reading! The Bell family has become dear to my heart. I especially love Nikki, Sam Bell’s young daughter, and “her” goats. The goats get a pretty important role in Rising Star, and their role is just one of the elements that makes Rising Star so delightful.
I absolutely love Bluestar Island. The small town feel and the connection among its residents make it a place I would love to live. Sure, during the summer it’s filled with tourists, but that’s when the year round residents make their money. And who wouldn’t want to live within walking distance to the beach?! Jennifer Faye has created an island that just leaves me with a warm feeling in my heart.
If you love clean romance books with strong characters and a charming setting, you’ll love Rising Star. I highly recommend this book and series!

I’ve come to think of Dash the goat as a sort of town Cupid. But in Rising Star, I think his work was way too easy. Well, he DOES have some frightening moments but he’s a fighter. And Emma and Noah were written in the stars, imho, making Dash’s job easy.
What I loved about this book was Emma Bell, at her very core, is a hometown girl with big dreams. She loves her family and when she resets her priorities, she puts family first. In doing so, she helps herself as well. She has some touching moments that broke my heart and really endeared her to me. Sometimes she made some [ahem] decisions with her heart, rather than her head, and it may have gotten her into trouble. And Noah Sullivan. I love it when a hero is all “I’m gonna be a loner” from the start of a book but his true character starts to slip thru right at the start.
Noah and Emma have what I consider a ‘meet-cute’ that is adorable! They might describe it a wee bit differently, of course. But reading how they grew to lean on each other – good times and bad – really made for a great story. Loved these two. And of course, Dash certainly does his part to make these two reconsider their priorities. It’s what he does best.

This book was full of fun, swoony, romantic moments as Noah and Emma become more than friends. I liked that they started off not liking each other at all. Throw in Emma's wonderful family, problems, goats, and a cheating fiance and I could not stop reading the book. It sounded like a country song just like Emma, who is a country singer and songwriter after winning Songbird, a reality singing show. It was such fun returning to Bluestar Island and its wonderful characters I have grown to love. They make it feel like home. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I loved Emma and Noah especially as they are flawed and there were times I wanted to shake some sense into them but also knew they had to come around on their own. There are some highs and lows to go through, some laughs and maybe a tear or two and then there is the whole Dash the goat and the well!! This is the first book I have read in this series but I want to go back and read the others now and get to know Emma's family more now as well as all the townsfolk as they are great and makes me wish there was a Blue Star island near me!.

Bluestar Island seems like a great place to go. Emma is a country singer/songwriter and is having a rough patch. Noah is an investor and a carpenter, leaving his stressful job to relax and live life at his pace. When the two come together at first it is not all bliss, but working together they see something in each other. This is a great feel good story. The characters are wonderful and the story flows. Great book.

This sentimental opposites attract story will have you loving Blue Star Island in no time! With the fourth book in the series we dive back into the heart of this small town where love seems to wrap itself around hearts when they least expect it. The characters are always endearing, the setting is cozy and sweet and the storyline had my attention from start to finish. I always enjoy my visit to Blue Star Island!
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a small town filled with love, laughter and happily ever afters.

Rising Star is a sweet fast paced story that kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. Emma and Noah are great characters who came to Bluestar Island for their own reasons. Emma is trying to make it big in Nashville, but she needed time away, and came back to gather herself together, while spending time with her family. Noah wanted to have some peaceful quality time away from the rat race. When they first meet, it doesn't go so well, so when they are working on a project together, can they put their differences aside and make it work? I love that Aster, Sam, Nikki and Dash made appearances in this book. This is a feel good book and series, and I highly recommend it!

I love reading a Jennifer Faye novel. She makes you feel just like you are there with the characters in the book. This is Emma and Noah's story. Without giving the story away they show how love can overcome obstacles. There is also an appearance by Dash! I recommend this book. This is a stand-alone book but it is great to read the other books in the series because the other characters make an appearance in this book.

Really enjoyable read! An accidental meeting blooms into much more. There are plenty of obstacles to overcome; previous hurts, different career paths and stubbornness. The characters are amazing and have great connections and interactions throughout. Loving the Bluestar Island series. A must read.

Absolutely loved this novel! I loved the family-ness of Emma and her siblings, her friend Summer , and especially how her and Noah’s story developed throughout the novel!

Little Bluestar Island seems to be the perfect place
to fall in love, especially for a down on her luck country singer and a former workaholic turned carpenter. I'm enjoying this series immensely, I mean, how can you go wrong with a story that has a mischievous pygmy goat and a town full of characters who like to matchmake.

I have adored the previous books from Jennifer Faye’s Bluestar Island series, and was excited to have the opportunity to read the fourth installment, Rising Star. Even though this is part of a series, I believe each one can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed reading Noah and Emma’s story. It was so sweet to see how the pair interacted with one another and how they are trying to get over their past hurts. I thought the whole book was a delight to read.
I am giving Rising Star a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean Romantic Fiction. I look forward to book five from the Bluestar Island series, Summer by the Beach, to see what happens next.

Quick read
The story was different, but could have developed more in both character development \background. Some of the worse editing I've read in a while! Using wrong character names, wrong use of words and repeat phrase.. Didn't take off for that or it would have been 3 stars.

New author to me and I can honestly say that I will be reading more from her.
The storyline was great, the character work was fantastic and the book had a smooth flow to it.The author has given us characters that we can care about. The story pulls you in and never let's go. I was kept entertained from beginning to end.
