Під час перекладу я бачила тільки першу половину тексту, а другу не хотіла читати, поки не пройду гру, щоб не схопити спойлерів (спойлер: в артбуку їх немає, все акуратненько і обтічно).
І от нарешті гру пройшла — можна й книжку почитати)
Артбук і справді саме про процес створення гри: як автори дійшли до такої концепції, чому дія відбувається саме наприкінці ХІХ століття і чому нашого персонажа відправляють саме в п'ятий клас.
Розробники діляться, як вони вивчали все, що можна, про всесвіт Поттеріани, як придумували вчителів, як малювали звірів та інтер'єри, як утілювали магію, як розробляли головоломки, яку неймовірну кількість всього відкинули і ще всякого закулісного.
А ще, звичайно, там кууупа неймовірних ілюстрацій: і ігрові візуалізації, і концепт-арти, і тематичні малюнки, і зліпки персонажів — дивитися не передивитися.
Ну і переклад вийшов файний. За "Попеляшок", схопиторбу і мантелепня прямо гордість бере
великий мінус через відсутність зображення Омініса і недостатню увагу до Себастіана. також хотілось би дізнатись ще більше фактів про створення, приховані задуми, розкидані пасхалки (для перевірки себе) і подальші долі персонажів(!!!)
проте як колекційна річ це скарб, захопливий як візуально, так і змістовно
Overall 4.5 stars. This book was incredibly detailed and interesting. It perfectly blends the expanded lore with the process of developing a blockbuster video game. I loved the added insight to the history of each character and location in the game. The beasts section, however, was lazy paraphrasing of the existing text from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Including all four common rooms in this book was a nice touch for those who don’t want to play the game multiple times. It would have been nice to also include the different experiences at the end of the game (based on your choice of good vs evil) too.
Great piece of behind the scenes information from this massive game. And as a fan of the franchise and player of the game I have to say that all your questions will be answered about what they did in the past years about the creating of this game.
Excellent art book about Hogwarts Legacy. After reading it, I want to start another playthrough. Definitely great to read following the game, but would also be very beneficial for someone just starting or with no prior Harry Potter knowledge.
As an artist who aspires to be in the visual development, game design area and a Harry Potter fan this is perfection. It’s so interesting to see all the interesting details and I absolutely love it.
This was such a fun, unique read that really dived into what the developers had to face in regards to challenges (cutting content even when they didn't want to, but also knew they could spend the next 100 years on this game) and the art and history that went into crafting the game. While most of the tidbits about the game characters are already known, it's nice to have it all in one place and many of the bits about the castle and surrounding areas I hadn't caught the first time around.
