The Power of Three returns in this original storybook starring the very first Charmed Ones in a never-before-told tale from their childhood.
Prue, Piper, and Phoebe were the first sisters to be called the Charmed Ones, the most powerful witches the world has ever known. But before they were charmed, they were just three little girls living with their Grams, and no idea of the power within them. When their constant bickering threatens the future unity of the Charmed Ones, their magic awakens to send the three young witches on an adventure that could change their destiny forever.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia where I lived a typical childhood with a far more interesting fantasy life. I mean, how many other eight year olds were sticking their Star Wars action figures in Ziploc bags filled with water and putting them in the freezer to recreate the ice planet of Hoth? (Really? That many? Never mind.)
After college, I moved to Los Angeles and was very lucky to get a job as a page at Paramount Pictures only months after I got into town. I worked as a tour guide and usher, and I performed temp office work around the lot. Eventually, I took a position working in the studio's licensing department where I quickly worked my way up to middle management.
After a while, one of my friends in the publishing industry offered me the opportunity to write a Buffy, The Vampire Slayer short story for a collection she was editing. Well, when I heard how little money I could make as a writer, I immediately quit my job to try it full time. (Stupid, I know, but it kind of worked for me.)
I started out by writing books based on such wonderful TV shows as Star Trek, Roswell, and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. I have since written over 30 books based some of the best shows on TV, adding The West Wing, Alias, and Prison Break to that ever growing list.
While I continue to work on these media tie-ins, I have also been focused more on my own original fiction, including my teen series DRAMA! and the Simon Pulse Romantic Comedy Love, Hollywood Style.
This was a very cute, very simple little storybook. As a self proclaimed Charmed expert there was an inconsistency that I can’t help but point out: it’s stated that Phoebe has the same power as their mother to see the future, Patty only had that power while pregnant with Phoebe, her real power was being able to freeze like Piper.
Adorable and such a clever story. Charmed fans will love this story set in the 1980s when Prue, Piper and Phoebe are little kids.
UPDATE: Have had to downgrade to four stars unfortunately, as another reviewer pointed out that there is an error in this book. Prue says that Phoebe gets their mother's power of premonition, however their mother ONLY has the power of premonition when she is pregnant with Phoebe. Otherwise, her witch power that she was born with was freezing time like Piper. I do remember reading that part and something didn't feel right about it.... but it didn't click until I read the review. A forgivable mistake, but something that probably should have been picked up before publication. Still a high rating thanks to the great story, characterisation and artwork.
This was definitely a cute short children’s story. I loved it now I really wanna rewatch charmed again even though I know this book was definitely different from the series.
I adore Charmed, so I was beyond excited to get to read this one. It was inaccurate and honestly not an amazing book if you're not a pre-existing fan, but it was cute anyways!
The artwork was a little generic, but it was cute to see stuff like the Manor. The story was a bit of a mess, to be honest, especially because it's never explained why the sisters
Some of the shout-outs were interesting, such as the sisters' issues with their mom's death impacting the girls, Belthazor's page in the Book, and the use of Blessed Be. The continuity is obviously wacky with the entire premise, but also Patty wasn't psychic like Pheebs. She had Piper's power, which could have been an interesting way to utilize her more in the book since it primarily focused on Prue and Piper at her expense.
Overall, really only can recommend if you're already a Charmed fan wanting a cute and fast read, but hey, that's what I was expecting. (Honestly, this is rated higher than it deserves bc of nostalgia and my fangirling lmao. But like. Affectionately.)
Very cute idea that explained some of the history of the characters in the 1990's tv series, "Charmed," and how they overcame their differences to help find each other and their way back home.
My only gripe was that the characters mysteriously remembered and then forgot again that they were witches and that part of the story was never explained. Would have liked some clarification on that subject.
This was so full of nostalgia. I grew up watching charmed and am currently doing a re-watch. Please make another book with Paige would love to read that too :)
