When feisty college student Yuri is attacked at a party, she’s saved by Toshiomi Oya, the underboss of a yakuza syndicate. Despite her obvious attraction to him, she convinces herself that she’s not in the market for a bad boy type. But when they meet again, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him—kicking off a steamy and dangerous love affair that threatens to consume her, body and soul.
After Oya rescues Yuri from Jin, a detective who was Yuri’s childhood friend, he’s enraged and consumed by the desire to claim her body once more, but his injuries get in the way. Jin refuses to give up on Yuri, forcing Oya to take drastic measures to put an end to this love triangle once and for all! Later, with Oya still unable to have sex, Yuri feels compelled to do “something” for him for the very first time!
Here's the deal, if you look too deeply into the writing, you're going to come up empty handed. Everything is surface level: I have no idea what these characters even have in common, problems arise only to be solved in the very next volume, the plot exists solely so these two can have sex. BUT Yuri and Oya adore one another, like when they're not having sex, they're talking about how much they love the other one, and honestly, that's enough for me. It's smut, but it's romantic smut.
I have absolutely no excuses. I'm aware that this is trash, but it's my trash.
That was a 🌶️ one. Glad the author hasn't leaned too hard into the love triangle plot line. It was nice to see Oya's Yakuza side come out again though.
On the night of July 28th, 2024, I read volumes 5-7 of this trash manga series in 1 hour. LMAO Is it good? Not in the slightest, but I couldn't stop reading after the annoying cop showed up. At least this doesn't try to keep the copaganda going and paint Jin as a hero (cause the man is insane).
3.5⭐ This was another pretty spicy one! Not a ton of plot, but I'm not complaining. I'm in it for the cuteness factor, and there was definitely plenty of that. Oya and Yuri are ridiculously adorable together!🥰
I thought I'd read this one but goodreads said I didn't and while reading it I still felt I've read this one before. Idk if it just is very similar to the previous vol or I didn't mark it as read. For the review, I'll assume I already read it. It didn't feel as spicy as past volumes but we get to see her being the dominant one and Oya being all cute and embarrassed and you know, I liked it. This is not groundbreaking stuff by any means but it's entertaining.
I am genuinely so happy reading this book series. I am content with the storytelling aspect, the character development, the illustration, and everything else that comes with reading the book. The translation is pretty much perfect and I am thankful to have a story like this. That is easy to read in a quick manner.
I love them, no notes! I was admittedly a little worried about how the last volume ended, but it was resolved in the best way, so that was a complete relief!
K... so, I'm binging this series so I'm not going in depth till the end (if even then, but we'll get there). So... a few things to say
-When Oya says "Let's end this love triangle once and for all" I was like. Took the words right outta my mouth. *Also, he lays a gun and key on the table, and goes "That's the key to my apt. Yuri is there. To get her, you'll have to kill me, then you'll get the key." Not to mention "I'm her lover" Umm yessir 😜... -Oya hiding his "O" face when Yuri's doing a job because if she sees it, it'll expose his vulnerability. My ❤️.

Two years later and I'm back in the series! In my defense, I did move and my books were shoved into a deep cabinet. I finally organize all of my mana and realized I am very behind on this series!
Volume 7 continues from Volume 6 and I thought there would be a love triangle storyline, but Oya puts a pin in that storyline REAL quick. I liked seeing Oya aggressive behind Yuri's back, he is a mob boss after all! He's hurt and is healing at home, so Yuri gets a lot of Oya time!
They are kind of in their own world and it's cute to see them interact.
This continues to be my all time favorite manga series. It is so sweet and sexy. I'm so happy the so-called love triangle is over. It really wasn't much of one to begin with. But it was interesting to see how it was handled. The love continues to grow between Yuri and Oya. I can't wait for the next volume.

I loved this steamy manga series, it's an automatic purchase for me. Yuri and Oya are growing as characters. Would love a little more development on the love triangle aspect. Going to be a rough few months until the next volume.
I think I am fully embracing this as my guilty pleasure. oya and yuri are just so freaking saccharine sweet…and this volume was STEAMY in like a less explicit / over the top way. yuri taking control was 🔥🔥🔥!!!

I enjoyed this volume more. They were annoyingly cute, and I just like the overall sweetness of this installment. I don't know where the rival plot if going, but I think I'm here for the ride. Take my money Shojo Beat.
This isn't my favorite volume of this manga but I still really enjoyed it. I prefer the volumes with a little more action...it didn't feel like much happened here. But...it was still good. I feel like I could read this series over and over.
Honestly nothing ever happens in these books, yet I love them and keeping buying it. It’s sweet. Cheesy. And sexy. Sometimes when you do a heavy read, all you need is a easy manga to help you wind down or relax. So yakuza lover is always a good book to read and jump between heavy books
