A laid-back yakuza heir and a striking cross-dressing beauty start an unlikely love affair.
A yakuza heir indifferent to the family business butts heads with the stunning proprietress of a nearby drag club. When his yakuza grandfather starts putting on the heat regarding the family business, he runs straight into the arms of the masculine beauty!
Masahiro, heir to a yakuza syndicate, has been skating through life without much purpose, but that all changers when he meets makeup artist Tsubaki. Attracted not only to Tsubaki's outer appearance but also his inner strength, Masahiro can’t help but be affected by the statuesque beauty’s influence. But he’s not the only one growing from their relationship—the seemingly put-together Tsubaki can’t help but learn a little something too!
I enjoyed this volume slightly more than the first one as I felt like we got a lot more of the domestic fun side of the characters relationship.
It was a lot more cute and fun with some sex scenes than it was really aggressive. Everything seemed to have dulled down to a level I enjoy a lot more. I liked the dynamic between the characters a lot more and it was really nice seeing them settling in to their relationship together.
Whatever issues I was having with volume 1 weren't happening here; I really enjoyed Masashiro's character growth and the romance developing with Tsubaki. This one had me cracking out a grin.
So, the consent stuff doesn’t get better. Lots of dubious consent. He’s (mafia heir) generally happy in the end, but is often rattled and shocked by those moments right when they happen. His partner is sexually aggressive at times and will steamroll through/ignore requests to not do specific things. Obviously, for narrative purposes, he ends up liking it/having no complaints because, in erotic BL/GL, sexual openness to their partner and anything they do is a metaphor for opening their heart/mind or whatever… 🙄
Which all of that SUCKS because there is some really great stuff happening with character/relationship development outside the dubious consent (frankly, it’s often noncon that the heir just happens to be magically okay with later after we see him shaking in a not-good way after one thing). It sucks!! They have cool convos about gender and how the heir who thought he was just into stereotypical women comes to understand and be fully attracted to their partner’s feminine AND masculine features, while exploring how he engages with his own gender and sexuality. Him understanding and appreciating his partner as non-binary/bigender (it’s not really clear what their identity truly is and some descriptions may be offensive to some nb/trans folks js) was an interesting convo to see, especially as he doesn’t have the same vocabulary to describe his feelings as his partner. There is so much good that is wrecked by deeply unnecessary dubious consent/noncon.
Warnings for dubious consent and noncon sex acts (generally during consensual sex), sexual aggression, stereotype that men are naturally sexually aggressive, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering (uncertain as all their accepted pronouns aren’t confirmed), potentially harmful representation/descriptions of a nonbinary person/identity
While the first book felt like it dragged, this one felt like it was rushed 😩
Maybe if I start from the beginning with Hana & Ikkun's books, I'll appreciate Moon & Sun more. I still love Tsubaki, though, and I was here for their growth (and Masa's growth, too... I merely dislike him now).
Much different (better) vibe from vol 1 - which is fine since I didn't like vol 1 all that much - but I also only thought this was 2 vols and just wanted to complete it. Apparently it is still ongoing, based on the afterword. 😮💨 At least the tone basically did a 180 and the art is nice?
I think I enjoyed vol 2 even more then vol 1 as it focuses on Masa and Tsubaki settling into a relationship with each other and Masa’s character growth. But the best is Tsubaki finding someone that loved all of them and helped them feel not alone anymore ❤️

Couldn't remember a thing from volume 1, so after reading I went back to look at my review. Pretty much feel the same as I did about the first volume. Pretty, but lacking. Almost sure I'll forget this one.
CW: Toxic relationship, violence, sexual content, explicit, harassment, homophobia Masahiro and Tsunami have a strange romance. The best way to sum it up is “you do you”. I think his two buddies from the yakuza are a fun bunch.
If vol 1 was all sexual tension, this vol was the lovey dovey followup that made me SO delighted!! I really like the contrast between the two halves of their story, and this ended so sweetly.
I think it was fine and it was so cute how Masahiro wanting to become more independent person because of Tsubaki’s influence and I also like how we learn more about his home life.
