The beloved fantasy adventure Inuyasha continues with the next generation of demon hunters!
Can the three teenage daughters of demon dog half-brothers Inuyasha and Sesshomaru save their parents, themselves, and both realms from the menace of the seven mystical Rainbow Pearls?
First stop, Demon Slayers’ Village, where the trio joins forces with old friends and frenemies of Inuyasha—Kohaku, Sango, Miroku, and Koga! Plus, Miroku tells the tale of meeting Sesshomaru’s flunky Jaken after the fateful day when the twins were separated.
Then, while Towa receives a surprising new weapon to train with, Moroha reunites with her former mentor Yawaragi, who strong-armed her into becoming a bounty hounter. And all three girls discover they harbor something inside them that draws enemies to them like moths to a flame—including the fearsome Four Perils! Uh-oh…
Oh my! This vol was so good!!!! This series, just like Inuyasha, is so dear to my heart! In this volume, both charming, mysterious, new characters, and beloved old ones, to my pleasant surprise, show up! It was definitely ALL ACTION! Loved it. 🥰 My only complaint is not enough Tomo!!!
Hmm, I'm still unsure about this series. The pacing was a bit weird. It might be because InuYasha was so slow that this feels like it's going at a breakneck pace, but it still feels too fast. Also, I am still getting huge "Fan doujin written circa 2006" vibes from this. Again, not saying that's a negative thing, but that it's noticeable. Also, whose brilliant idea was it to make Setsuna and Sango practically identical in their designs? I had to flip back a couple of pages a few times to see who was currently on the page because I kept getting them mixed up. It may seem like I'm being harsh, but I can't help how I feel about this series. I will give it kudos for having an excellent artist. I have no complaints about the art, it's all very well done.
Continuing on! Got to see my guy Koga again, flip the haters, I love that guy, would happily join the wolf-demon tribe for him xD Lil more lore and backstory of the girls, how they got separated from their parents, etc. Liked seeing Sango and Miroku again too, and, well, damn, Kohaku's cool af now too, I'm a fan.
Other small things I liked...
Manga Moroha and Setsuna go all extra-cool looking with the white hair in their demon forms, love that, why did they not do that for the anime!? Specially Moroha, since it totally brang (lmao, my spelling, but you get it) the Inuyasha vibes (to where even Koga was like 'huh? Inuyasha?' in the one scene when he saw her), like, gimme white hair Beniyasha!
The slight personality diff in Setsuna. In the anime, she's like (at least outwardly), eh, whatever, when it comes to Moroha and Towa, and she's all tough, like, who needs sleep and dreams and happiness, like, I'm good without it. But here, she's more like, actually wanting to handle the butterfly thing herself, like, she has a determination to protect Moroha and Towa, and find her parents, that she doesn't show in the anime. So, I like that. Love her cold aloofness, but I also like seeing that she's a lil soft on the inside, and not just full-on, uncaring ice queen like her grandmama, lol.
Silly lil thing, but one flashback frame, with Jaken, where he's missing our Sesshy, and he's like, "I need to touch the fuzzy-wuzzy or I'll die!", had both me and the kid rolling. Oh, Jaken, you goofy lil fuck, what would we do without you...
Setsuna, Moroha, and Towa are not reunited. Miroku and Koga take the steps to test the three girls for the journey that lies ahead for them. We also se Kohaku is still trying to make amends for his past deeds, even visiting the gravesite of his father and fellow demon slayers.
There is someone named Zero that is after the rainbow jewels (something equivalent to the sacred jewel from the way the other demons are after it). We also meet a foe who claimed to be a likely ally until it was time to make their move.
I like how Setsuna is protective of her sister even though they didn't grow up together. Moroha cares for them as in a flashback we see Moroha trying to do what she can to lift the curse that Setsuna has.
After such a tiring battle, the three girls lay there sleeping. From what I see, the personality of the girls seem different than what I have seen of the anime. Setsuna is closed off but in the manga she mentions how she wants to use her power in order to protect others.
I am excited for the next volume and I may start watching the anime tonight.

I love the story, fun and reasonable. I read Inuyasha when I was a teenage girl but gave up and didn't even realized it ended since I grow up and hardly be touched by a manga story. However, by accident, I know this one it reminds me I was a SessRin supporter, I am happy to see they finally have two daughters, it suddenly bring me to my teenage time. The story line is attritive, can't believe I am already a obasang but quickly into it.
I like the painting style too, the characters setting are great, especially when Seshomaru's daughters become the demo, they looks quite similar to Seshomaru with sharp eyes.
Not bad, not bad at all. While I didn’t enjoy volume two as much as volume one, it was still fun to read. I just feel like the pacing of it was slightly off. However, I was not expecting so many battles happening towards the end. It was thrilling and a little anticlimactic, mainly with Homura. But the transformations of each half-demon princess was fantastic and goodness, a certain panel of Koga was just fire; I can’t stop staring at him, lol. I really do appreciate them bringing up moments of the past, - during Inuyasha, - because it adds some depth for long-time fans such as myself.
I love this universe and am so happy we get this continuation! I made the mistake of watching the first season of the anime after I read volume 1, and have confused myself on the storylines now because the packing is sooo different. I prefer the story as it unfolds in the manga, so I'll hold off on the anime until the series is concluded. In Vol1, I was equally interested in all three girls, but Moroha was over the top annoying in the anime and Towa seems posted into the background a bit in this vol, so now I find myself most interested in Setsuna. Also very happy to see the old gang.
This Manga really has no business being this good. Yashahime Vol 2 does NOT disappoint! I feel like Takashi is fixing the disaster that was the anime with a better story and more development with the characters that does not feel dragged out. Absolutely loving this and wish they would have waited for this story to be completed before turning it into an anime. Do not hesitate to read this series!
Some of the things in this volume I wish was shown in the actual anime scenes. It would be nice to have a volume that focuses on Sesshomaru and Rin's story as well as Inuyasha and Kagome prior to the girls being born. Either way I'm ready for the next volume.
AHH MY HEART. The return of some of our favorite characters - Sango, Miroku (wow what a handsome monk), Koga.
The art is more detailed compared to Inuyasha, esp the action scenes. Not sure if it’s because the series is meant to be shorter, so they have to get through some necessary information, but some dialogue feels like “telling” vs “showing”.
I love how this volume helps the girls to grow in their powers - a huge difference from the anime! It was also great to see all the old characters again!
i never know how to feel about the manga adaptation of the story cause of how different it is to the show, its like im reading something completely different from what i watched
