Colors of Happiness #1

Bellini's Mimosa

Rate this book
Mimi swallowed away a trickle of tears as she followed the stream of travelers into the train station. “Jake…Jacob…Giacomo,” she quietly repeated how he introduced himself. As if in answer, the bells of San Simeone chimed the full hour—and the end of her Italian adventure.

A chance encounter, an unforgettable kiss at the Vaporetto—and all he had was her first name. “Mimi. Or Emily. Only Emily.” How was he supposed to find her?

Six months in Italy was precisely what Mimi Albizia needed to move on from an incident that cracked her trust in men. Just as she is ready to resume her old life in Boston, charming—and very sexy—Jake Bellini swoops into her life and proves that not all men are jerks. But with their lives thousands of miles apart, a relationship is impossible. If only she could stop thinking about him…

Jake Bellini refuses to accept his appointed role at his father’s hotel on Martha’s Vineyard. He prefers to follow his passion for winemaking at his uncle’s Tuscan vineyard and keeps romances light. Until a brief encounter with an intriguing woman makes him question his definition of la dolce vita. But when he reaches out to her, Mimi has vanished.

As Mimi faces her past and Jake questions his future, another surprise reunion ignites new passions. Can Mimi trust her heart, and will an undeniable chemistry be enough to bring Jake home?

Publisher's Note: Each book in the Colors of Happiness series features a different couple in a tight-knit group of friends and siblings, and as such, can be read as standalone within interconnected, series-arching storylines.

Bellini's Mimosa by Annette G. Anders
Who doesn’t love romance, Italy, and wine? The mystery starts with a tall dark stranger, Jake, steps in to protect Mimi from a drunken man in a Venice cafe. They enjoy a glass of wine and conversation together and exchange phone numbers, but Mimi’s burner phone goes dead once she leaves Italy, and they lose touch. Until a coincidence brings their paths together again in Martha’s Vineyard on the East coast of America. Their love and passion grows, but obstacles mount to keep them apart, namely living in different countries, their dedication to their separate careers, and their families keep them apart. There are no easy answers. But when they take matters into their own hands, new surprising opportunities arise that will change their lives forever.

Bellini’s Mimosa is the 1st in the series. I absolutely loved this romantic and some historical novel. Loved the characters. Mimi takes a leave of absence from her teaching because of an incident and traveled to Italy where she tutored. Mimi is enjoying a nice Mimosa when someone sits next to her and starts hitting on her. Jake walks in and sees this and can tell she isn’t interested so he walks up and says sorry I’m late. Mimi and Jake start talking but Mimi is leaving Italy to go back to the states. The story continues w alternating from Mimi and Jake. They can’t stop thinking about each other. They meet again before accident in the states. This is a wonderful story and one you won’t be able to put down. Thank you for the ARC. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

When you know, you know.

Sometimes love just hits you and you stumble upon the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. And sometimes you start a really good book and just know you're going to love it.

This was the case when I read BELLINI'S MIMOSA. I loved the characters and the storylines! Annette has a real gift for describing the settings where she places her characters. I enjoy her books because I crisscross the globe with her characters and feel like I'm right along with them traveling.

I love Annette's descriptions of food too! You'll want to sit down and have brunch with Mimi and her friends and loved ones. And yes, a mimosa too.

I can't wait for Paloma's story! 🤩

Bellini's Mimosa (Book One) of the Colors of Happiness Series by author, Annette G. Anders
ARC - May 26, 2022

Sit back, grab the coldest drink you can find with lots of ice, and enjoy a Historical Fiction Romance that SIZZLES~ but beware, ice cubes will melt as Mimi Albizia and Jake Bellini take you on an adventure from Italy to the East Coast US, where love blossoms, and where 'the birds and the bees' are alive and well.

The author has created a gorgeous backdrop of historical elements which nurtures ones soul as she leads you throughout the hills and valleys of Italy, and on to the natural weathered settings, lifestyle, and historical significance of the East Coast.

With descriptions that leap off the page, steeped rich in family tradition, and where culture comes alive with its art, food, wine, the language of love, and the gift of family and friends, you will find yourself immersed.

Pure emotion sparks, and takes hold, as it brings together two strangers from different worlds who later find themselves turning their memories into stories as they reunite in a most unexpected way, and only then, begin to realize they are becoming the best part of one another.

Bellini's Mimosa is as genuine as it is surprising~ an intimate look into the lives of two, who never expected love would become their whole world, together.

This richly textured historical narrative which is not only romantic, but captivating, heartwarming, and breathtaking, will keep you turning the pages and believing once again that true love stories never have endings...

I thank Ms. Anders for allowing me the opportunity to be an early-reviewer of Bellini's Mimosa, and I look forward to the next chapter in the Colors of Happiness Series!

In the newest series from Ms. Anders were are transported, yet again as Ms. Anders does so well, from Venice to Tuscany to Martha's Vineyard. So if you're a thirsty and hungry type of individual, be sure to grab something before sitting down to read this book because your mouth will water otherwise.
Jake is a well-rounded, likable character with lots of charm and genuine emotions.
Mimi is smart and sassy but needs some love.
I enjoyed this story very much, and I look forward to reading book two!

💖💖💖💖

Jake and Mimi love story was beautiful. I liked the build up to their story from the 1st time they met in Italy up until they met again on Martha's Vineyard. There was no rush to have sex and instead their love just blossomed for each other. And Jake's extended family accepted Mimi like shevhas been a part of the family for years. I look forward to reading Paloma and Matt's story and I hope there's a story Carlotta too and perhaps Mimi sister as well!

Bellini's Mimosa is a great book! The author wrote unforgettable characters that I really enjoyed spending time with. The book opens in Italy and switches from Martha's Vineyard and back. I love both locations and the descriptions were wonderful and accurate. This story was told in a linear way which is the style I prefer. This was an excellent book about love and family loyalties. I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

I fell in love with Mimi and Jake from the very beginning of Bellini's Mimosa! I love the way Annette took me back and forth between Italy and Martha's Vineyard. Was able to travel and did not have to leave the house. There are so many colorful characters in this book, that I loved getting to know! I can't wait till the next book, so I can catch up with all of them!

Loved it!

Another great story by one of my favorite authors! I especially enjoyed this book because it came very close, in some ways, to my own life experiences. Sometimes a chance meeting and fast romance do lead to long lasting happiness.

For Mimi a chance meeting with a "knight in shining armor" (and a sexy one too!) leads to an instant connection and spark she has to leave behind in Italy. Jake makes a bold move to save a "damsel in distress" and finds he can't get her out of his mind even after she disappears. If you’re looking for a summer beach read this is perfect - it's funny and sweet with just enough sexy and a great mix of characters. Annette G. Anders makes you feel like you're right there with them in Italy and Martha's Vinyard with her colorful and detailed scenery. I really enjoyed this feel good romance. I hope to see more of Jake and Mimi in the next installment of "Colors of Happiness"

An older series with a new-to-me-author that I’ve just discovered. With the vividly and gorgeously described settings in both Tuscany and Martha’s Vineyard, along with some enticing characters who’ll charm and delight, I was happy to share a glass or two of wine and read their story.

It takes a village . . . and readers are introduced to a diverse cast of characters who add depth and flavor to this story, making you feel like part of their world. Through an array of emotions, ups and downs, I was hooked immediately.

In a chance meeting, Jake Bellini steps up to save Mimi Albizia from being harassed by a drunk. Afterwards, over a glass of wine, they converse and there’s a spark of attraction. Before parting, they exchange phone numbers, but things don’t always go as planned and the phone never rings. They don’t see each other again until much later . . . and through another surprising set of coincidences.

Jake and Mimi will finally get their happily-ever-after but not without a few hurdles to overcome along the winding path to love.

For me, this book was a charming and heart-warming curl-up-on-the-couch kind of read – especially on a snowy-below-zero-temp-day!

This was a fun read that combines romance with Italy. Mimi is just ending a 6-month sabbatical in a Verona when she meets Jake, an American working in his uncle’s Tuscan vineyard. They briefly meet in Venice and then run into each other a few weeks later on Martha’s vineyard where his family runs an inn. Sparks fly and they have to figure out how to make their lives work together. Loved it!

This book is as luscious as a piece of chocolate. Travel to romantic Tuscany and charming Martha’s Vineyard in this evocative story while you inhale the scents of the sea and grapevines and drink a bold red with Jake (who you’ll adore), Mimi, and all the other wonderful characters. If you’re up for some hot romance, Anders definitely delivers!

Betrayed Mimi has just spent six months in Italy when she has a brief but unforgettable encounter with gorgeous, charming Jake. While each continues to think of the other, in a (not so) surprising twist of fate she ends up at what she doesn’t realize is his families en fate later reunites them thousands of miles away, can they turn their fiery spark into something that lasts?”

Nice romance. Too much description of wine country and surrounding area. Not much of a traveler so it did not bring up any feelings for me.

A whirlwind fairytale romance with multiple settings and history. Wine, Italy, Martha’s Vineyard make a wonderful backdrop for romance and taking risks for a promising future. Friends make it even better and hint of the possibilities for more romance and relationships.
