Since the recent death of a wealthy but perverted businessman, Charity Styles has been hiding in plain sight, as if challenging anyone to come after her.
She’s on her own once more, living day to day on her beloved Wind Dancer, anchored near a quaint little Gulf Coast town in the Florida Panhandle. But when the son of a fishing client ends up dead, the father’s employer hires Charity to find the person responsible.
Intrigue mounts faster than the list of suspects and Charity finds new purpose and direction, and possibly a guide. But will her new outlook make her fall prey to the local crime boss? Very few know of her abilities and many have come up short in trying to take her. Will this be Charity’s final downfall from grace?
I'm a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and now, a full time novelist. Between those careers, I've also worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and truck driver. I live in the Sea Islands, near Beaufort, SC, with my wife and youngest daughter. We also have three grown children, five grand children, three dogs and a whole flock of parakeets. I grew up in Melbourne, FL and have also lived in the Florida Keys and Cozumel, MX.
Wayne Stinnett's Charity Styles first appeared in his primary series -as did others - but she was the only one who took on a life of her own in her own series. At least up until recently. Former Olympic swimmer and medalist, former cop, former help pilot, crash and captivity survivor, form CIA assassin, loser of two lovers - she'd become a hard woman.
?here she has recently vanished from her friends, having killed a pedophile while on assignment and unsure of their reaction. But she's at least back in the US. She is drawn into investigating the OD death of the son of a lawyer, and things move from there. Another Stinnett character. (DJ Martin) appears, also on leave from those same friends, and together they go off to investigate.
During the investigation Charity rescues two women who have also been raped (as she was during her captivity) and begins to open up. DJ is missing a foot, the result of an IED. Their future may see them linked more closely. It looks that way, and the book ends with that promise in the air.
I have been reading Wayne Stinnett since the Jesse books were first available. Then Charity came along. So now I happily read both. The combo book with other authors was fantastic and wow(!) it moved. This Charity was especially poignant. Dawn Lee McKenna was high on my list of favorite authors. I devoured her Forgotten Coast books. Her passing was a real blow so having Maggie and Boudreau appear in this book was incredible. I hope their story continues somehow because it wasn't finished with the author's passing. So a big thank you to Wayne Stinnett for bringing them and Apalach back. I highly recommend this book. You'll want to read all of the Jesse and Charity books! And the Forgotten Coast books as well. Stinnett mentioned binge reading those in his Authors Note. I heartily agree.
It's a very good story and re-unites Chariy and DJ Martin for the first time since their very brief encounter on a megayacht in a previous story when Charity was undercover tending bar.
In this book, Charity is hiding out near Apalachicola aboard her boat in the Florida panhandle and by chance discovers DJ is there aboard his boat just having time to himself. Charity is suspicious that DJ may have been there tracking her down. A young person dies of an overdose and Charity is hired by the victims's father to track down the dealer. She enlists DJ to help her. There are two way too brief encounters with a lieutenant named Maggie from the Apalachicola PD that has been a prime character in six of the late Dawn McKenna's books based on Florida's Forgotten Coast. Wayne should have involved Maggie more in the process of discovering and dealing with the drug dealers.
Charity eliminates drug source in The Forgotten Coast ( Florida )
Wayne Stinnett associates Charity Styles with Characters from Author Dawn Lee McKenna Forgotten Coast series. It works as they together solve two deaths from drug overdose. Charity has moved her boat and helicopter to the Forgotten Coast located near Apalachicola, Florida. This is part of her plan to distance herself from previous employer. But acquaintance, who's friends son overdosed, asked for her help. She could not refuse. Thus Wayne Stinnett brings another exciting book that I did not put down until The End. Recommended…. Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star

What a pleasant surprise to find past loved characters from another series by a different author. It is both happy and sad as I am reminded of her untimely passing. This latest adventure of Charity brings us to small community on the Florida coast that has a drug dealer war starting, a series of overdose deaths, surprising suspects and a re-uniting of old acquaintances that end up having similar experiences. Charity and her friends of course solve the problems with thoughtful insights and good investigative procedures and enough action to keep one reading non-stop if allowed.

This book by Wayne Stinnett is a so so or mediocre sort of book. The main character, Charity Styles, is a hot Wonder Woman with outstanding fighting talents. Stinnett has her picking up a investigation job when she has nothing else to do. Then she casually picks up a guy from a previous book as a partner. Stinnett also bring in names of characters from books of other authors! Seemingly just to flesh out the story.
As usual, Wayne has brought Charity through a gripping and grinding story of intrigue, flashing action and introspection. I loved it so much, I didn't stop until I finished the entire story. Now I have to wait for another installment of Charity's adventures.
Loved this book! It keeps you on your toes to the end! Wayne Stinnett is an amazing author. I love how he included a favorite place of mine and characters into this book from another Author's book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and his other books! Thank you Wayne 😊
Been reading Wayne s books since his second Jesse book. Now have read them all and the quality in storytelling hasn't slipped one bit.. Truly believable and thoroughly researched make them stand out. Stories that make you want more is hard to write, but Wayne has mastered this and deserves all the plaudits.
I waited so long for #7 and was not disappointed but pleasantly surprised as Charity met Mr Beau fresh an daughter. I devoured this book, savoring all the thrills and surprises that each page brought. Sadly, as with all of Mr. Stinnett's books, it leaves me once again anticipating his next Awesome read.
I never pass up a Charity story. She is one killer lady. I'm more ways than one. But, to my great surprise, I was transported to my magical town of Apalachocala (sp?). A town and people I never thought I would see again. Thanks Wayne ! I missed Maggie and the people. Great story and a great visit. Miss her
Nice surprise finding Dawn Lee Mackenna's wonderful characters included.
I have read all of Dawn Mackenna's Appalach series and was so sad she lost her long battle with cancer. Was so nice that they all fit so seamlessly into this great Charity Styles novel. Hope to see them reoccurring back again in future books.
Good one Charity… Just don’t look around the corner cause when you do you’ll find another adventure. Things never work out the way planned but Charity did try this time. Her & DJ Martin have their moral code and might make a good pair. We shall see. Excellent
As usual enjoyed every minute and read straight through another Stinnett book. Glad my old friends Maggie Hamilton and Bennett Boudreaux made an appearance, I have missed them. Maybe Stoopid will show up too.
As always really enjoyed this book read it in one day and really enjoyed the characters from Dawn Lee McKenna books making an appearance loved her stories. Have read every book in all series and can’t wait for more!!
So Sunday5/1, i was explaining to someone who Stoopid the rooster was. And low and behold, i start reading Elusive Charity and THERE WAS STOOPIDs human mom!!!! What a wonderful surprise to see some old favorites! Great read! Love this series!
Another excellent novel about the uncompromising Charity and a different type adventure but still seeking out the bad guys. Coincidentally ran into a former colleague which made it very interesting.
I hope the two stay together and seek out more bad guys.
Another Great Charity book. As a big fan of Dawn Lee McKenna, it was good to see Maggie, Boudrou, and Wyatt appear here. Rest well Dawn Lee, you deserve your peace at last.
What to say a great book that I never placed down its a fantastic read and the story went by so fast I cannot wait for more of charity..it's rainy season now here in costa Rica and a time for growth and rebirth Pur a vida my amigos .....
Another fantastic book from Wayne Stinnett Charity Styles is without doubt the most intricate character he has ever came up with how you would love to meet her and chat about life a while new perspective l
Another Wayne Stinnett thrillr that exceeds the readers expectations. Action filled from first page to last with a solid storyline and the comfortable characters of Charity and DJ. Waiting for Book 7.
Like all of Wayne's books, this os another beauty. Please if you haven't started at the beginning, read all the books in sewuence. It gives you a better understanding of the complete storyline.
I really enjoyed the deeper insights into Charity and DJ (who I've always enjoyed as a character). The storyline was interesting and exciting at times, but a bit anticlimactic! But, overall another wonderful addition to the series.
Excellent novel!! Charity continues to kick butt and in this adventure we get even more of her backstory. Great plot and exciting action!! Love this author! Nonstop excellence in all his novels and characters!! Read em all!!!
I really enjoy these books. Charity is an interesting character with quite an interesting life after having experienced fame, pain and heartbreak. More Charity in the future is well worth waiting for.
I love Wayne Stinnett's writing style! I've read so many of his books and always get sucked into the Florida beach mindset. Reading his books is the next best thing to a beach vacation.
I cannot wait for the next Charity Styles story. This read was fast, believable and a story that left me with a desire for more. As a faithful reader I have to say nothing more than Semper Fi
Life a little different for Charity, and yet she finds herself unable to resist helping those in need. As always, Wayne gave us a plot / story with great characters to identify with so we could read way past bedtime, cheering them on to the finish.
Another great adventure and some insight into Charity's moving into the private sector after leaving Armstrong. Looking forward to the next adventure, but need to catch up with Jesse as this book had a tremdous leap in timeling.
An informative read into the life of Charity Styles
It was refreshing to read more i information about Charity and the emotional side of her. I hope the next books help her find a career purpose that she is seeking.
