Jesus changed the world by loving people one at a time. Influencing just one person at a time may seem insignificant at first glance. But as we better understand the surprising habits of Jesus, we unlock the power of small things done with great love.
Learning to love people like Jesus did takes intentional practice and repetition. This devotional from bestselling author Kyle Idleman helps you build this vital habit into your daily life. Each devotion includes questions for reflection and a challenge to inspire you to make a difference in the world every day--one person at a time.
Kyle Idleman is the teaching pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, the fifth largest church in America. I loved the focus of this book and the challenges. I wish there had been more Scripture for each daily devotional. While it was practical and helpful and (mostly) Biblical, there just wasn't a lot of actual Scripture involved.
Such an impactful read if you let it be. Each days devotional has a challenge. A step to get you to apply it. They are simple and straightforward, but require you to be committed to loving people in this Jesus kind of one-at-a-time way.
Highly recommend this! Especially as a group study book as I did it.
A fine devotional. Finishing up the book with my triad next week, so knocked the rest out. Created some good discussions. Don’t know if I’ll go through it again with more students or not, but I am glad I have it!
Lots of contemporary connections to the life of Jesus. I don’t feel agreeable with Megachurches as the one led by this author. Tens of thousands in a huge arena doesn’t bode well. But I got some good suggestions from his writing. Gave it to my friend who has enjoyed it.
