Kaoru è un diciassettenne come tanti, un po’ pervertito e appassionato di sadomaso (SM). Al centro delle sue fantasie erotiche la sua vicina e amica d’infanzia la bella Nana. Studentessa modello ammirata da tutti, Nana sente il bisogno di scaricare la costante tensione che ha addosso per via dei suoi numerosi impegni. Una sera la mamma di Kaoru le consegna un sacchetto con dentro un po’ della “roba” di quel pervertito del figlio, per punirlo dei brutti voti. La ragazza vi trova dentro un succinto costume di pelle. Incuriosita lo prova, ma il lucchetto che completa l’abito si chiude per sbaglio, costringendo la ragazza ad andare imbarazzata a pregare Kaoru di dargli la chiave. Lui promette di dargliela a patto di poterla ammirare in quella veste così eccitante e che non nasconde nulla del suo corpo…
L’esperienza di essere ammirata è davvero incredibile per la ragazza. Lo sguardo che Nana si sente addosso, la sensazione di indossare quel costume, il tocco delicato di Kaoru (ovvio che non ha resistito a toccarla…) la fanno rilassare e migliorare fisicamente e scolasticamente. Che sia questo il diversivo che cercava?
Nana decide così di affidarsi a Kaoru per provare ancora quelle forti emozioni, entrando a piccoli passi nel mondo SM. Indossare un collare, essere legata con una corda di canapa: cose innocenti, ma neanche troppo. Cose semplici e banali, ma che stuzzicano i suoi personaggi, la loro fantasia, ma anche quella del lettore.
C’è un certo voyeurismo nel voler rappresentare Nana, il suo corpo e le sue reazioni, ma non si cade nella volgarità e, anzi, si mostra sempre l’insicurezza e l’imbarazzo della ragazza difronte alle richieste di Kaoru che con arguzia la convince, imbroglia e sfida a fare quello che lui le dice. Il ragazzo è un personaggio complesso che spero sia approfondito nei prossimi volumi: è un po’ pervertito, si approfitta senza troppi scrupoli della situazione in cui si trova e dalla possibilità di poter sfruttare la ragazza. Kaoru si rende conto che, a volte, va un po’ oltre il limite, che non ha alcuna esperienza sia nell’ SM che nelle relazioni con l’altro sesso e mostra anche lui una certa insicurezza e paura per quello che sta facendo non volendo ferire Nana. Ad un certo punto dichiara apertamente che prova dei sentimenti amorosi verso Nana e quindi sarà interessante vedere come si evolverà il loro rapporto. I due inizieranno ad avere una qualche relazione o invece continueranno ad approfittarsi l’uno dell’altra, Nana per avere il suo diversivo e Kaoru per avere un essere umano su cui testare le pratiche SM che conosce solo sulla carta?
L’aspetto del sadomaso è ben trattato e spiegato con semplicità, a volte anche in maniera divertente, mostrando gli sbagli che qualcuno alle prime armi potrebbe fare. La volgarità, come dicevo, non c’è e anzi sarà curioso vedere quali pratiche saranno protagoniste dei prossimi capitoli e se il continuo stuzzicarsi dei due ragazzi potrà portali ad una relazione fisica o no.
Un primo volume interessante e curioso: si è davvero stuzzicati che si vuole continuare a leggere il capitolo successivo e vedere cosa succederà. I disegni sono molto precisi sia nell’anatomia del corpo sopratutto di Nana e le posizioni più erotiche, ma anche nel rappresentare l’imbarazzo, l’insicurezza e il piacere sui volti dei due personaggi: gli si legge davvero in faccia quello che provano. Momenti di tensione (erotica ovviamente) ma anche divertimento e una chiusura di volume davvero particolare e assurda che ti spinge a dover assolutamente comprare il secondo volume, non pensate?

I began reading Nana to Kaoru in 2012 and I was shocked and hooked right away. The SM within these pages is crazy intense in a good way. This manga is definitely entertaining. I can't wait to continue the journey ahead.

Man muss leider sagen, dass die Zeichnungen 1+☆ sind und holy shit,; es echt gut verfasste Erotik ist.
Was mich einwenig stört ist, dass es Minderjährige sind die extrem hart sexualisiert werden und sie mit 15 einen Körper wie 25 hat
Hierbei hoff ich das der Autor sich nicht selbst zum männlichen MC gemacht hat...
Schön pervers, aber das Storytelling ist eher nicht so vorhanden.

3 stars??? Either something is very wrong with me or this book really has something to like for sure. This makes me a nice pervert by saying that yup I liked it! I am not into S & M and don't wanna ever try it too in my life but still the wonderful chemistry between the characters and fantastic artworks are really a pleasure to read. In long story short, this is a book about a boy who likes S & M and tries to get her girl crush at school into it. It is downright weird but apart from some epics when are mangas not weird, right? The only complain is that this is too slow. I actually have nothing to tell you but read it as just a time pass and may be you'll surprise yourself!

Estoy hasta la madre de las historias de hombres sin autoestima y esa es una de las razones por las que esta me parece una buena historia, Kaoru es un joven virgen, feo, chaparro, y sin autoestima, enamorado de la chica más bonita de su escuela. Hasta ahí es la misma historia de siempre, pero lo que la hace diferente es que Kaoru es un pervertido que ama el BDSM, y es a través de esto que conquista y domina a Nana.
Fuera de ser bastante informativo sobre el BDSM, es divertido y con personajes complejos, todos tienen defectos e inseguridades y es interesante como el BDSM se inserta justo en esta parte para ayudarlos a lidiar con las dificultades de la vida, no sé, te hace reflexionar bastante sobre estos juegos de poder y por qué nos gusta lo que nos gusta, sobre lo que aparentamos ante los demás, sobre lo importante de la confianza… cabe mencionar que este manga no es hentai: no hay escenas de sexo tal cual y hasta donde voy en la historia ambos personajes siguen siendo vírgenes y no parece que vayan a dejar de serlo, pero sí es bastante explícito y usan cosas muy locas como máscaras sin agujeros, inmovilizadores, mordazas… pero te explican por qué las están usando y qué es lo que sienten al usarlas, aquí el BDSM es prácticamente terapéutico y te muestra como es posible llevar una relación así completamente saludable: Kaoru es muy cuidadoso y gentil y realmente puedes ver como hay amor en todas sus acciones sadomasoquistas, pero al mismo tiempo es muy joven y tiene inseguridades y le cuesta decir lo que siente, en general todos los personajes (también los secundarios) tienen sus motivaciones propias que los hacen interesantes y simpáticos, es una serie un poco larga por lo que se puede volver un poco repetitiva pero en general es bastante buena.

I was browsing through scanlations of manga and saw this, I tried to find the right ISBN but unfortunately I have to settle for this one, not sure if it is the right one, the title and author is right though.
Anyways this became my "guilty pleasure" read over the weekend, in manga and in anime, those absurd/silly way of being "funny" in facial expressions especially the "perverted" or "ashamed" expressions are one of a kind and it create giggles or maybe a fit of laughter from the reader. The story have a heavy theme if the reader is not tolerant of erotic stories, S&M/Bondage is everywhere with the main two characters, and it explores the psyche of why people are "turned on" with it, esp with the subject are HS students.
With many themes/subjects/variety of stories in the Japanese manga world, it is nice to get ideas from it. What I've read are scanlations and the grammar are sometimes off, so I hope there is a legit translation out there.

This deluxe/Omnibus size book, 600 pages, focuses on Kaoru, a mega pervert who's into S&M and Nana, who learns her true calling as a sexual partner. These two try their best to help their fantasies grow and call their sexual exploration "breathers" to help get stress out from school and various other events.
It's a pretty fun story. I think it drags a bit with the sexual events, repeating a lot of the innerworkings of their thoughts but a lot of their thoughts are repeating what we can already tell just by viewing their faces. On top of that, the faces sometimes that are supposed to be sexy come across creepy instead.
But flaws aside the art outside the weird faces is good, the sexual nature of S&M, the master role, and the slave role, are explained well here and you can actually tell outside of acting like a asshole, Kaoru is actually someone who cares deeply for Nana. Those tender moments work well, and them trying to figure each other's feelings out is nice. The "3sum" at the end is interesting in a weird way, kind of a bit rough, but also has a nice ending to it? And no, there's not a actual 3sum, it's called that though.
In fact for a book that has S&M there is almost no to little actual sex moments. It's interesting.
ANYWAY this is obviously a mature only title, but if you want something a bit cute, weird, and all sexy this isn't a bad one to try. A 3.5 out of 5.

Honestly, this book/series (Also the spin off series) I read before it was translated into English (it was fan translated through one of those special pirated websites). Anyways is it a magnificent peice of literature... no... BUT this is one of my favorite series to read and gives me a sort of ease of mind to read it. I really enjoy reading it and find that I'm constantly going back to binge it. I also.have dyslexia and the fact that not only was the first issue easy to read but the story was also interesting enough to keep me hooked enough to read all the other books and the spin off series on top of that. My only real quam is that I wished the author wrapped it up in the end but even still the final outcome for the couple is nicely illuded too so I'm not too disappointed either....
To end it all this is definatly a book and series I would recommend to people who find manga that deals slight smut and bdsm topics to be interesting cause it's definatly worth the read!

i actually reached vol3 and dropped:(.i the first like- vol amd i think the start of the second one was sooo good.like kaoru is a cute excited guy.so small.so squishy.it's still a weird concept but i love them.BUT- then umm when they brought more characters...ugh🙄.I DON'T LIKE POLY STUFF IN MY ROMANCE.if i was consuming this as pure erotica i would be like 🤷♀️ but i ship them so harddddd.i understand nana is being freaky about the new girl and kaoru is keeping her just for the sake of nana and their secret BUT STILL .BAD BAD BAD

One of the greatest fetish manga ever created. You have to read it to believe it. It could have been scummy and cruel but it’s actually very gentle and educational. I’m not into S & M and reading this doesn’t invoke me into trying, but props for how informative it gets and the artwork is fantastic, not extreme. My only complaint is the thickness, making it difficult to read anything near the center without fear of splitting the spine. Still, a minor quip for a remarkable manga.

The drawings are so detailed, and its definitely informative. I was enjoying myself with every page.

This has some of my favorite manga art, top 10 at least. I like most of the series, save for a few of the...less pleasant fetishes they end up exploring. Skipping the less pleasant stuff didn't seem to change the story, either, so lucky me? Solid 4.5 out of 5 either way.

Let's be honest, I will get this. Nostalgia is strong... I just hope they will also publish the sequel story: Nana to Kaoru - Kokosei no SM gokko (or Nana to Kaoru - Last Year) which had the better ending? I can't actually remember but I stand by my vague feelings.

Scanlations are under fire nowadays and for good reason. But back in the day the only way for me to read manga (or discover new manga) was through scanlations. But the groups that did them, had a moral code, when a manga got published, they would stop translating and pull their scans. Which was a shame but you accepted that and bought the real thing. Sometimes you got really disappointed because the 'official' translation was so bad compared to translations done by fans.
I have many fond memories of this manga*. It was, I think, one of the first times I saw kink being explored in healthy ways. Which (if you read a lot of ecci/seinen manga you know) was unusual for the time. Most of the time manga aimed at boys/men are super sexist and do not have much respect for women. Even if it's meant to be 'funny', some of them made me hella uncomfortable.
But Nana to Kaoru was... unusual in the fact that Kaoru was always thinking about Nana. He thought about what would please her. I even got frustrated with Nana at times because she would keep quiet when I would ask her what she wanted. Both characters weren't perfect. The way their relationship starts was even to me a bit iffy at the time. But the respect. Oef the respect was always there. It still has those humour tropes that are typical of Ecci manga. But that doesn't detract from the depth this manga has showed me.
I stopped reading because there was a hiatus? But I just saw that the series was complete! So I got a bit excited. Helaas. It's not translated in English. Only in French and German. And I'm not proficient in both languages to pick up on nuances I think this manga has.
Hopefully someday it will get translated in English. I'm curious to see if it would hold up.
I recommend this for everyone who like exploring kinks in manga. And if you're not familiar with Japanese culture some things will seem strange (?) but I do think it gives some insight in how people in a culture different from my own, handle BDSM.
*I began reading manga when I was a teenager. I do feel that a lot of people wouldn't recommend this to teenagers. I would actually. I learned a lot about consent, different ways of having sex or how arousal could work. But then again I wasn't the kind of idiot who thought everything that happens in a manga is applicable to real life. It's soft-porn but still porn. DO NOT APPLY THIS SHIT IN YOUR LIFE. At least not without having conversations with your partner(s) about it.

I recommend this for everyone who like exploring kinks in manga. And if you're not familiar with Japanese culture some things will seem strange (?) but I do think it gives some insight in how people in a culture different from my own, handle BDSM.
*I began reading manga when I was a teenager. I do feel that a lot of people wouldn't recommend this to teenagers. I would actually. I learned a lot about consent, different ways of having sex or how arousal could work. But then again I wasn't the kind of idiot who thought everything that happens in a manga is applicable to real life. It's soft-porn but still porn. DO NOT APPLY THIS SHIT IN YOUR LIFE. At least not without having conversations with your partner(s) about it.

Preso su suggerimento del fumettaio.
Il nome dell'autore/rice mi era familiare, ma non riuscivo a ricordare cos'avessi letto di suo. Poi, a casa, dopo averci rimuginato su per quasi un paio d'ore mi è venuto in mente Puppy lovers, Band 1. Che sì, avevo letto, ma non avevo apprezzato anche perché i due non combinano mai.
Qui, si parla di sadomaso. Lei è una studentessa modello tutta stressata; lui è uno sfigatello bassetto e bruttino. Però è un asso del sadomaso e lei si affida a lui perché si rende conto che esporsi in quel modo la fa sentire meglio.
Direi che io e il sadomaso non andiamo molto d'accordo. Se devo essere onesta, Sunstone, Vol. 1 mi sembrava un po' più realistico di questo. Anche perché là le due ragazze ci mettono un po' a imparare come si fa senza far male. Qui lui sa tutto subito. E Nana non ha nemmeno una parola di sicurezza.
Potrei provare a leggere il secondo volume, ma questa serie ne conta quattrodici. Decisamente troppi.

Its the way Amazume creates characters that readers will like, with faulty personalities, life struggles, and even innocent wants or needs that makes this ecchi romance series a good read. Including pretty amazing art that may even add to character likability (just look at Kaoru, he's so goofy looking that you wouldn't expect him to be a great Dom, a good exchange with a leader like Nana who is the sub) there isn't any sex within the series, well so far as I've read. That is most certainly appealing to me as I can focus on the characters and their issues and also enjoy that this is a positive view of the BDSM community and sexuality in general. Didn't expect that from a manga series at all but surprise! It's an unique series and don't judge the series on the raunchy cover art, well, not completely. ;)

Una historia bien pensada y argumentada. Los personajes son lo suficientemente complejos como para aportar al mensaje mucho más que erotismo. A veces no sabes si sus defectos e inseguridades son la excusa para situarlos en las situaciones más excitantes o si es ese erotismo la excusa para profundizar en unos defectos, complejos e inseguridades que forman parte de todos nosotros en mayor o menor medida.
Muy recomendables.

Surprisingly quite good overall for what it is. The storyline and exploration of the subject matter is really well thought out. Excellent artwork, and while I have mixed feelings on the characters, they were reasonably well thought out and relatively interesting. The premise is a bit absurd, (erotic manga - go figure), but within the confines of the premise the story works well.

За първи път ми се случи да чета такава манга и честно казано не ми хареса. Героинята е добре нарисувана, но главния...А и историята една такава перверзна - не е за моя вкус. Прочетох първи том само заради шибари, но нямам намерение да довърша поредицата.

I only read this because of how the cover caught my attention, I'm kidding about that. I read it because I didn't have anything else good to read at the time. And it was alright. If anybody liked things that we're erotic. Or ecchi.

I decided to add Manga back in to my reading rotation this year and this series had been on my list for a while now. So glad I picked it up! What a cute, although somewhat problematic, relationship. Kaoru is really just trying his best!
