Aku selalu tertarik dengan hal-hal yang menyangkut Bulan. Aku tertarik membaca buku ini karena judulnya yang juga menyebut soal Bulan. Tulisannya indah, namun sayangnya aku tidak benar-benar bisa menikmatinya. Mungkin ekspektasiku yang terlalu tinggi, atau mungkin buku ini bukan seleraku.

This book is the second book by Leony which I have read. I remembered reading her first poetry book back in a bookstore while waiting for my little sister and found myself completely captivated by her writing. When it comes to poetry, I think it all falls down on whether or not the writing and feelings that the author wants to convey resonates with you. It might suit or it might not be your taste.

For me though, I find myself resonating with Leony's writing. Perhaps it's because as I grow older, these are some of the thoughts and things I have come to learn and thought of. Or perhaps we just have the same way of thinking. Overall, for me personally, I really enjoyed this book.

Baca buku puisi ini rasanya gak cuma jadi tau rahasia isi hati si bulan, tapi juga jadi dapat banyak kalimat motivasi dari si bulan.

Aku nemu buku ini waktu lagi main ke Perpustakaan Daerah Jakarta yang ada di TIM. I fall for the cover sama ukurannya yang kecil. Setelah baca keseluruhan isinya, aku cukup terpikat sama larik-larik di dalamnya yang mostly ditulis secara gamblang, minim metafora (yang uujungnya jadi lebih mudah dipahami), dan banyak yang berupa perandaian juga pertanyaan. Cukup bikin senyum-senyum sendiri sama ngangguk-ngangguk mengerti karena ada cukup banyak sajak yang relate.

P.S. my favorite part was, "what have love possibly done to someone till they said, 'I do not believe in love anymore?'" that one hit hard.

“i realize that not everyone you meet is meant to hold a certain place in your life. sometimes, you meet someone just for 5 days, you feel somehow connected to each other, you could be a good friend, and thats it. they are just meant to fill your life up to 5 days then the expire date is right there. if people have their own expired date in someone's life, then the expire date box should be clearer to see.”

Good read before sleep. Beberapa tulisannya mengingatkan saya pada tulisan-tulisan journal saya saat sma, jadi tersadar sudah lama sekali tidak rajin journaling. It motivated me to write again. Simple yet genuine feelings, a light write but actually chaos feeling & full of effort to translate it to words; reading this book feel like that.

Some notes that I highlight:

they change the word "manipulative"
with "it is for your own sake" thing
I almost believe it
until my soul reminds me
I can stop whenever I feel overwhelmed

Aku baca versi yg bahasa Inggris, sebetulnya puisinya bagus. Tapi, seperti yg penulis curahkan di salah satu puisi di buku ini, yg intinya 'art, bisa dipahami oleh orang yg tepat, jadi ga semua bisa langsung paham'. Di situ sih daya magisnya, kayak apa yg ditulis di buku ini tuh isinya mungkin cuma sekedar kata-kata (quotes), tpi ada unsur seni yg membuat buku ini unik. Cuman... Puisinya kurang masuk di aku :') so i can't give five stars for this book, but i enjoy reding it.

Kebanyakan tulisannya tentang hubungan masa muda, nggak terlalu relate sama kehidupanku sbg IRT, yaiyalah... tapi aku emang suka aja baca2 puisi kayak begini. Suka kepo aja, kayak apa sih anak2 muda zaman now (berasa tua banget jadinya) mengungkapkan isi hati & pikiran mereka.
Jadi, yaudah, cukup menikmati aja.

such a good book! i'm a lover of poetry books in general, but this one. wow. it's so realistic, & many deep poems. there are numerous pages about (toxic) love, friendships, mental health, and the society we live in today. really reccomend reading <3

Finished for a day. Honestly this book quite calm and page turner (of course this book is a poem). The moon and her secret tells about relationships, toxic traits, family, self love, and mostly for quarter life crisis. For me is not related anymore, but I enjoy to flashback the moment.

a poem that written through metaphor of the moon to describe human complexity. Being related at some points, made me smiling at some couplets.. IMO it'll suits for a slow reader who wants to explore their feelings.

.Through this book, I realized that our emotions are complex. There are a lot of unsaid feelings. And thankfully, this book has succeeded in expressing those unsaid feelings.

Reading this book solitarily while waiting for sunset is just like having a heart-to-heart conversation with myself.

poetry is a new genre for me. bakal ada hit and miss. tapi sekalinya suka, sukaaa bgt pas bgt kata katanya. langsung menggambarkan/mengingatkan ke hal tertentu.
paling suka yang bab 3, the moon and bedtime questions, jadi bikin berandai-andai

buku ini membuka rasa penasaran aku ke buku poetry lainnya, dan seneng juga nemu buku ini yang puisinya tidak terlalu metafora, jadi aku bisa langsung ngerti hehe
