Rate this book
J.R. Pace presents another sexy, action-packed romance in the Mont Blanc Rescue series.

Sarah’s running for her life.

A successful radio show host, Sarah is no stranger to obsessive fans. Her current one, however, has crossed a line and become a stalker. For the first time, Sarah is afraid for her life.

Jens will do anything to keep her safe.

A soldier and a doctor by trade, Jens is used to people’s lives depending on him. Caring for a woman as beautiful as Sarah until she can be reunited with her sister should be no hardship, but Sarah is like no one Jens has ever met, and he is shocked to the core by the urge not just to keep her safe, but also to keep her close.

Action, adventure, romance … in the heart of the Alps.

Note to readers: this is Book 4 in the Mont Blanc Rescue series. While it’s recommended to read them in order, each story can be read as a stand-alone. Guaranteed HEA.

(4.5) Another great read in this series! As noted this can be read as a stand alone but highly recommend reading in order. This is Jens story, the medic of Search and Rescue team and prior soldier. He gets a call advising him Sarah is locked in a room and won't come out till she speaks with Damien. Sarah is the sister of Tara whose is Damian wife (he is the leader of Search and Rescue). Damien and Sarah are in the air going on vacation with theirs son and so Jens gets the call. Buckle up for a tale of stalking, support, steam....um, detailed steam and the build of beautiful relationship. I love the depth that is given to the characters, the plot plays out realistically and you feel like these are people you know. I was let down a tad with the twist at the end. To me the book was so well written it wasn't needed. I have enjoyed each book in this series, but so far Kay and Luke are still my favorite and I love how Luke appears in the epilogue. Thank you for the arc J.R. Pace and Booksprout. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Best of the series so far!

I love Jen's, he is the quiet, underestimated hero, not only is he a protector but a healer too.
I didn't like Sarah the first time we met her in book 1, but here she more than proves herself with her selfless actions, not only for Jen's but Kat too. This book is fast paced, with plenty of action but still manages to be heartfelt and emotional too.
Definitely my favourite of the series so far, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this excellent series and this book is a prime example of why. The book's well-written with well-rounded characters, a well-thought-out plot, and fully-fledged relationships. I loved the way the relationship built between Jens and Sarah. I was drawn into this engaging story from the start and kept hooked throughout, reading it in one sitting. You won't want to put this book down. The book has intrigue, suspense, and romance; it'll bring tears to your eyes in places and keep you on the edge of your seat in others. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book now and highly recommend this one. While this book could be read on its own, I suggest you read the series in order to get the most benefit as you meet all the characters and see how their lives intertwine.

Jens wondered what had brought down the small aircraft. The pilot had obviously died a slow painful death as an enormous branch had impaled his intestines. He and the passenger were both found dead without any identification. Then they found a jacket and followed tracks outside leading them to an unconscious man, but for the brief seconds he was awake he was full of fear.

Jens was a search & rescue medical doctor with the Mont Blanc Search & Rescue Team. He has been taking on more shifts since several of his colleagues had fallen in love and started families over the last few months. And since his family was still in Germany he did everything he could to help out his team by taking some of the extra shifts.

While he was in the office filling out the incident report a call comes in that a woman had locked herself in a gas station bathroom and refused to come out until she spoke with Damien, the team leader. Since Damien and his wife Tess had just boarded a flight for a surprise trip for their son to Legoland he left to see if he could find out what the woman needed.

To his surprise, the woman is Damien's sister-in-law Sarah. The one and only time he had seen her she had walked into a bar where Jens and crew were blowing off steam and tried to seduce Damien when her sister told her of his interest..to see what he would do. She was mortified when he drove her to her sister's having been onto her game immediately.

Sarah Porter had locked herself in the gas station bathroom hoping the lock was strong enough to keep the man chasing her out. He had stopped his car next to her as she was walking on the highway. When she ran, he gave chase. Leading her here...locked into the bathroom.

She hosts an early morning radio show in London and two months ago a man started calling in and saying things aimed specifically at her. So vile they had to take him off the air. Kept calling every day but when they wouldn't put him through he got angrier and then the letters began. He knew so much about her, seemed to think they had a relationship.

Then the deliveries began...coffee from the shop behind the station made exactly as she liked. The police just laughed off her concerns. Then he started showing up on her social media. Then she received a package and blood went everywhere. Police said it was a pig's heart and finally started taking her stalker seriously. That's when she ran, hoping he wouldn't follow her to France.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book four of JR Pace's Mont Blanc Rescue Series and although it can be read as a standalone novel, I suggest that you start with book one of the series to meet all of the rescue team. I guarantee reading from the beginning of this series will make you love these characters as much as I do.

I love Jens and Sarah's story. In JR Pace fashion this book is action-packed and grabbed me from page one. Her stories are full of danger, suspense and smoking hot romance and this one didn't let me down. This series just keeps getting better and I feel like part of the Mont Blanc Rescue Team's family. JR Pace's attention to detail and her hang onto your seat suspense romance stories keeps me coming back book after book.

This book has danger coming from two different angles that will keep you turning the pages. I highly recommend this series and JR Pace is definitely an author you want to read everything she writes!

Running from London to Chamonix, it never occurred to radio show host, Sarah Porter her sister, Tess and brother-in-law, Damien, wouldn’t be around when she got there. It was an emergency! She was being terrorized by a stalker! Medic, Jens Melkopf is the only team member in the office when the sheriff called for Damien. Rushing to town to get Sarah, Jens fondly remembers he was interested when Sarah visited before.

Meanwhile, a man Jens rescued earlier and took to the hospital who was expected to live, died and men from Italy, rumored to be in the mafia arrive, searching for something or someone. And Sarah’s stalker breaks into her home and work studio, he injures her boss. Sarah, realizes there could be vague clues leading to Chamonix. Within hours of that realization the stalker is in Chamonix.

Maybe the romance of the read flowed differently than this reader’s expectation because it didn’t connect with my taste, for me it felt hurriedly forced. The suspense portion, however, flowed well as the pieces twisted and spun to come together with the right amount of tension in the right places for my taste.

This book drew me in from the very first chapter! It starts with a bang, and takes off from there. There are mysteries within mysteries, and the story keeps you guessing. I liked both of the main characters; they seemed like good people, the kind you root for to get a happy ending. Jens is a medic with the Mont Blanc Search and Rescue team, and Sarah is an up-and-coming radio show host who is fleeing from a crazed stalker. Jens meets up with Sarah and promises to protect her. There’s a lot of action, and the story moves at a good pace. I wished that Sarah was a little more of a stronger character physically (I’m a huge fan of kick-butt women who can take care of themselves) but other than that, I really liked the story. It’s a quick and entertaining read, and there is an HEA. I understand that it’s part of a series of books, but I hadn’t read any of the other books and I was able to pick up on things fairly easily.
I received an ARC copy of this book, but the opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is Jens and Sarah’s story. Sarah is a British journalist and is Tess’ sister. Tess and Damien had their story told in book one of the series. Damien is the rescue team leader and Jens is a doctor and a member of Damien’s team.

This story was as action packed as all the other stories in this series. The reader got to accompany the rescue team members on several daring rescue missions. The author always does a great job fleshing out the exciting world of the Mont Blanc Search and Rescue Team. I think that’s the part of these stories that keeps me coming back. I like imagining the natural beauty of the mountains and the thrill of the dangerous situations the team encounters. This particular story also had a couple of deadly mysteries to solve.

Jens and Sarah’s love story was woven into all the intrigue of solving the two mysteries. I liked Jens but Sarah tended to behave a bit irrationally and impulsively. However, Jens was levelheaded enough for the both of them, so it all worked out in the end. I think the part of Jens and Sarah’s story I liked the most was the second epilogue the author offers via email. It was a very sweet ending.

Running as far away as possible from her life and her stalker, Sarah tries to get to her sister but finds Jens instead.
He promises to protect her after finding out the reason for her distress.
Every stalker has the potential to be dangerous but this one pushes things to the extreme.
Jens and Sarah can't deny the heated attraction they both feel which means each have so much to lose if things go wrong.

I loved this series and this book is just as dramatic, passionate, suspenseful and romantic as the others.
I felt like I was there on that mountain with our brave characters who you can't help adoring.
Each member of the search and rescue team are likeable to the point you're hoping they have that happy ending.
Another fantastic story which gripped me from the first with its hooks clawing into my chest.

Sarah is Tess's sister (first book) and she is on the run but at first we don't know why but she has locked herself in the toilets somewhere. Tess is away with Damien and the kid so Jens is called. She is scared but he manages to get her to go with him.

She confides in him that she has a stalker (she is a radio presenter in London) and it has gotten so bad she had to run away. There is a lot of insta lust and they kiss really early.

She is staying at Jens even after her sister comes back. Jens house gets broken into while their in bed and he has to sneak downstairs to get his gun. If you thought a psycho stalker was after your girl would you leave your gun where you couldn't just grab it. Anyway is some guys asking about the crash that happened at the beginning. I don't think we needed this to be honest.

So the stalker finds out where she is and uses and uses a very pregnant Kat to get to her. He takes them into the woods and she convinces him to let Kat go as she isn't doing well. Kat manages to get help and Jens gets to her just in time.

While in the hospital she hears a flippant comment from Jens and assumes he doesn't want her anymore so she leaves. He chases her down at the airport and declares his love for her and she stays.

This wasn't as good as some of the others. There were a few mistakes. He was kissing her nipple then went lower nibbling on her ear. Some wrong words -sign instead of sing

I did enjoy there sex scenes though. Jens actually came across as human and not some sex god (apart form his huge penis) He asks her to slow down or it'll be over too soon, he asks if she likes what he is doing and asks her to tell him how to please her.

I didn't like the fact that we didn't get any reason why he was so obsessed with her but Sarah said she thought that was scarier and after having thought about it for a few days i agree

The epilogue was nice but short

Sarah runs to Chamonix trying to get away from her stalker and hide away with her sister hoping that when he can't find her he will move on, she doesn't expect to run out of money on the way nor for Jens to swoop in a save her. Jens likes his own company when not working but that changes when he bring Sarah to his home and swears to protector her ..... which is easier said than done. I loved seeing things grow between Jens and Sarah and how they start to see life differently with each other, but there is still danger lurking so you keep wondering will they get a HEA or will Sarah go back to London if she make it out alive. You get danger, suspense, passion, great characters and a stunning location with this book and as this is the only one in the series I have actually read, I now want to go back and read the other three!!

I just love this series so much, it just keeps getting better and better, book 4 has now become my joint favourite with book 3. I think what I loved the most about this story was the connection between Jens and Sarah, it was beautiful to see and made this book what it is in my opinion.

The love, support, respect, acceptance and understanding in this was written so well and I loved seeing the team functioning together in their job and seeing them together as an extended team with their loved ones. I saw some things coming and others I didn't but it didn't matter as it was the journey getting there that was written so well, there wasn't a thing I didn't like about this story, in fact I was sad when I got to end as I was so lost in their story. I cannot wait for book 5 to come out now! I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, ergo the first in the series I’ve read. Picking up who is who wasn’t a problem & the book delivered on what it promised – action, intrigue, adventure, danger and romance.

And to think I went through life thinking doctors always wore stethoscopes and needed to see their patients in-person to make an initial diagnosis. Luckily for Sarah Jens could do exactly that!

The book kept my attention (I read it in one sitting), I was kept guessing as to who the stalker was, so based on those two facts, I will be backtracking to read the earlier books in this series. Oh, I also enjoyed the way the author described the scenery, especially the view that blew Sarah away.

This was my first book from JR Pace and while it's part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the other books first as those characters are an integral part of this story but it didn't take away from anything. Jens and Sarah are very well written. Their relationship developed naturally and even though there was attraction on both sides, the situation she was in made them both cautious and that was handled perfectly. I was disappointed in the end as I thought they had already gone through so much, to throw that twist in was unnecessary. Otherwise, a really good story.. This is the fourth book in the Mont Blanc Rescue series. You can read it as a standalone but the books are connected and the team is more like a family so there will be some spoilers to the previous books. I loved Jens and Sarah's story. There's a good mix of suspense and romance. If you've read the first book you'll remember Sarah, she is Tess’s older sister. Jens helps Sarah when she shows up in town scared out of her mind, looking for her sister and Damien. Sarah's running away from her stalker and Jens has a strong pull to protect her. Will Sarah stay with Jens? Will they find out who the stalker is in time?. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Excellent
Another great addition to what has already been a fabulous series. I enjoyed getting to know more about Jens as I have been curious about his story since meeting him in prior books.
When Sarah fled from a dangerous situation, she ended up in the French Alps and Jens was quick to come to her rescue. I liked how caring and protective he was and together they made a wonderful couple.
I liked how this was full of suspense and heart pounding action but this was interspersed with some sweet and tender moments too. I felt drawn into the story and was eager to find out how it was all going to turn out.

This story had me hooked from the moment Jens was called to get Sarah. Jens is a doctor who works with the Mont Blanc Peloton de gendarmerie de Haute Montagne and helps keep Sarah safe. This story is full of mystery, action, danger, friendship and sexual banter. The story is wrapped around two different mysteries that become very dangerous. I loved how strong, sweet, carrying, intelligent and levelheaded Jens is in this story. I felt bad for Sarah having to deal with a stalker and falling prey in the other mystery suddenly. I loved how action packed the story was and that everyone had a HEA. I especially love the bonus epi.

Excellent book with suspense, mystery, intrigue and romance. The characters are realistic and so is the storyline. Jens is a member of the Mont Blanc Rescue team. His job is dangerous but his priority is working as a doctor. Sarah is a popular radio personality who has a stalker. He escalated stalking her to the point that she ran. Now Jens is trying to protect her. There’s a lot of action. This entire series has been wonderful. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review. I can’t wait to read future books by Ms Pace.

Another wonderful book in this series. I’m actually obsessed now and I cannot wait to read everyone’s story. Jens is the reserved, quiet doctor with a tragic past and Sarah is the radio personality and Tess’s sister! They have such great chemistry and work so well together. The plot is super intense and some parts with the stalker are creepy. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time because it was either the thrilling story or the steam. Jens is my new favorite! I definitely recommend the whole series! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Sarah fled from her stalker, can she lose him this time? Jens a doctor who works with her Brother-in-law (Damien), and Jens naturally wants to protect Sarah. Both of them feel the chemistry, but Jens resists it (for he doesn't want to take advantage of her). Will Sarah wear his resistance down? I couldn't help, but love the caring/protective Jens and the gutsy/determine Sarah, their story had plenty of danger, suspense, drama and passion.

Enjoy the stalker on the loose scenario; like the suspense and danger! Sarah has a stalker causing problems in her life, so she tries to hideout in France with her sister, Tess. Tess ends up being out of town when Sarah arrives, but luckily for her, Jens offers to help her out. Jens works with Tess’ husband, Damien, for the search and rescue team. Jens and Sarah grow closer as they are in a bit of forced proximity; love forced proximity scenarios! Very sweet connection and some good passion between these two! Overall, an entertaining read. Really enjoying this series!

I've read several books written by J.R. Pace; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fourth book in the Mont Blanc Rescue Series; it can be read as a stand-alone book but is better if read in order. The story is about Sarah & Jens; she a radio host and has had obsessed fans before but this time it’s beyond obsessed she has a stalker; he’s hired to protect her and until she’s reunited with her sister.

Sarah has a stalker and the only one who can help is her brother-in-law Damien, the head of a search and rescue team. Problem is they are flying on their way to a vacation so Jens the team medic is sent to help her. The chemistry between Jens and Sarah is explosive while the stalker keeps the tension high and you on edge through the whole book. Loved his support and direction and her ability to open up and learn to trust. Totally love the series and am looking forward to more coming out soon.

A stalker and a rescue

Mountain Shadow brings us the story of Jens. Tess' s sister Sarah is on the run from a stalker.
The chemistry between Jens and Sarah is chart topping, while the stalker is terrifying. Once you get to the climax of the story there is no stopping until safety has been reached once again.
The violence in this romantic suspense series is building book by book. I hope it times done a little because I would like to continue getting to know the stories of more members of the team, but there is only a certain level of malevolence I want to read about.

I am a huge fan of the Mont Blanc Rescue series and Mountain Shadow does not disappoint. The books are filled with beautiful scenery, courageous characters, edge of your seat suspense and steamy romance. Another great story featuring the extreme hazards of mountain rescue and finding the strength to survive. Jens shows this throughout the book especially when it comes to protecting Sarah from her stalker. Fantastic read you won't be able to put down until the last page is turned.

An “edge of your chair” read
Sarah is a radio personality, which has led to her having a stalker that is more and more threatening. Since she is Tess’s sister (Damien’s wife) Jens is sent to get her and bring her back to their safe place. As in the other books in the series there’s lots of action in addition to romance. Can’t wait for another book in this terrific series!

Jens and Sarah's relationship starts with a locked door but doesn't end with one! Vivacious radio host Sarah gains a stalker who's threats cause her to seek the help of soldier and doctor Jens. But trouble turns to passion as these two grow closer together. Will danger be the only thing that keeps them that way or will true feelings develop from the knowledge of possibly finding their other half?
