Life doesn't always take you where you think you should go...it takes you where you need to be.

Harry Lawe got a divorce, quit her job and rewrote her life. She left her emotionally distant father’s law firm and opened her own pottery studio. Harry's Pottery. She’s become a part of the downtown Erie, PA community and things are going fine until the day she finds a dead body in her kiln—a partially cremated dead body in her kiln. She’s looking for who-dunnit in order to save her business. She finds an unexpected sidekick in her attorney, Micah McCain.

Like her role model, Quincy Mac, Harry's determined to find out who the murderer is.

Fans of Jacobs' bestselling Maid in LA series will love her new cozy mystery series, Harry's Pottery Mysteries.

Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...

Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.

I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!

Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!

Holly

This was a cute cozy mystery. My first Holly Jacobs, but I have since learned this woman writes books faster than I can read them. I enjoyed this first book in a new series. I liked the pottery aspect and the slight comments on doing something you're passionate about. The love story felt a bit too easy and ridiculous sometimes but it wasn't too cheesy. I guessed the ending and felt disappointed that the side characters weren't all as fleshed out as I'd like them to be. Since it will be a series I'll give the book the benefit of the doubt and rank it 3 stars. I hope we get to know those other characters more in future books.

Holly Jacobs is an author that always entertains. And, her book, A View To A Kiln, is a great cozy mystery with relatable characters that kept me turning pages. I always like Holly Jacob’s characters and this book did not disappoint with the main character Harry and her father as prime examples of two people who just don't understand or communicate with each other. To bring such a complex relationship to life in the pages of a book is an art. Included here too is Holly Jacob’s sense of humor. You will also find some interesting facts about pottery and be like me, looking for a nearby pottery studio to try your hand at it. I highly recommend that you read A View To A Kiln to be entertained, touched in your heart and turned on to a new hobby. I hope Harry Potter will make more pottery and solve many more crimes in the series. I purchased and read the print version of A View To A Kiln.

Entertaining cozy mystery about a professional potter who finds a body in her kiln. She decides to look into it because she's offended by having a dead body in her equipment-- HER equipment!! (The kiln goes out into the shed and she gets a new one because she's not putting anything else in that dead body kiln.) Also because she figures she's probably a suspect. In her regular life, the criminal defense lawyer her lawyer dad sends to help her is cute and she gets a sweet dog for protection, or maybe just company. It's a great entry into the cozy mystery arena.

A fun new series debut by one of our favorite cozy mystery authors, Holly Jacobs. Set in Erie, Pennsylvania, this series incorporates Holly's love for a new hobby: pottery! In case you're afraid it will tell you more about pottery than you want to know, relax. It is the setting, and Holly's love for the artistic craft shines through, but this mystery sparkles on its own. The characters are engaging, and Holly kept me guessing as to "Whodunnit." :)

I liked the attitude of the main character in her new relationship. Too often, authors write characters that are super jaded by past relationships and need to be worked over in order to open up to a new one. It's annoying and old. It was refreshing to see Holly Jacobs take it in a more positive direction.
It's a cute story and a quick read, but I could not get past the grammatical and spelling errors. The editing was poorly done. However, I applaud Holly Jacobs for writing a book and getting it publish. That is truly something to be celebrated.

Another Great Read

I sat down to "start" A View to a Kiln with the intention of reading a few chapters and go about my day. Five hours later, I'd finished. I got lost in the story and needed to know who Done-it.
I would encourage anyone to read it. Very satisfying.

Fantastic book! A View to a Kiln

The characters are explosive. The storyline keeps the pages turning. Holly Jacobs has me chuckling one minute and tearing up the next. I loved, loved loved book one of Harry’s Pottery Series. I can’t wait for number 2.

Glad I don't own a kiln, lol

This was a really great book! While not usually "in to" murder mysteries, I enjoyed this one. The reoccurring character Nana Vancy is always a treat and I loved the main couple. Harry and Micah were sweet.

A light-hearted mystery with references to other Holly Jacobs books. Harriet (Harry) discovers the body of a high school classmate in her kiln--and the fun ensues.

Besides having a great title, this book was fantastic from start to finish. Very well written, interesting characters and I will definitely be reading book 2. Recommended.
