This is a beautifully designed and generally well-selected collection of poetry by Wordsworth, Coleridge, Blake, Shelley, Keats, and Byron. While I've read most of these poems before, I enjoyed re-visiting many them. In particular, I don't think I'll ever tire of re-reading Keats, and moreover, this is the perfect time of year for "Ode to Autumn".
Conversely, I really dislike the organisation of this collection. While each of the six poets has a separate section in the book, their ordering is neither alphabetical nor chronological, and I can't work out the organising principle. I suspect there may be none, which is quite irritating. Further, I noticed a few typos in the text, which aren't features of the original poems. I might overlook this in a cheaper edition, but these Chiltern Classics are marketed as luxury hardbacks; consequently, I expect better. This collection also lacks an in-depth introduction to the Romantic movement, a feature that a standard Penguin Classics or Oxford World's Classics edition would certainly have supplied.
Thus, while the contents of the book are enjoyable, these niggling design and editorial shortcomings detract slightly from the overall reading experience.
