I started this book and one chapter in I thought this is gonna be one of those books I lose interest in. I kept going, and I’m so glad I did, because the intrigue and mystery sucked me in. This book ends with a cliff hanger, so be prepared. This story is written in a style that I struggle to keep my interest, but I’m so glad I continued with it, because I am now invested in finding out what happens next, because these two “fated mates” are anything but loving towards each other at the moment. I found the heroine confusing at times, but that’s her allure I think.

For a nun (Iyana) Yana is not what you think she would be. Shes strong willed, snarky and opinionated especially when shes dealing with Vampire Prince Draco. Id say that opposites attract but these two characters love to hate each other. More so on Yana's side than Draco's i think. The dynamic between both of them keeps you on your toes thats for sure.

I loved that a main character from the Blood Saga series featured in this book too. Crossover characters are a great addition and a fav of mine. I also loved Yana and Draco even though i feel like i shouldnt like Draco after all that hes done (in previous books) but after that clever cliffhanger ending im looking forward to the next book. A great book to kick off this series and i loved reading it

Yana's a nun of the Temple of Light, which is run by the goddess, Hecate. In the past, she has been kidnapped and bitten by a vampire, gripped by Thrall, and used dark magic to try and get said vampire to leave her alone even if he is her mate.

I'm still not sure what I think of Draco, in fact, he's a bit of a douche. I'm really struggling to find any redeeming qualities about him at all and I'm super intrigued where exactly the author is going to go with his storyline. Of course, that means I'm going to have to read the rest of the series, that definitely won't be an issue.

Vampire Bites follows Iyana Torchbearer, a nun at the Temple of Light run by the goddess Hecate. After an incident four years ago during which Iyana was kidnapped by her soulmate and vampire, Prince Draconius, Iyana magically erased his memory and returned to the temple to live her life.

But after an attack on Logiris, a magical hub in a human world, Iyana’s enchantments were destroyed and Prince Draconius returns for her. But since their last meeting, a phoenix destroyed his body and corrupted his nephew on the Vampire Council, and his soul is now at stake. Desperate to keep his mate for himself, Prince Draconius kidnaps Iyana and hatches a plan for them to escape Logiris together.

Torn between her soul bound with the Prince and her sensibilities and life at the temple, Iyana faces a difficult decision. Should she return to a world she knows and loves? Or should she embrace fate and reunite with her mate, no matter how dark and dangerous he is?

The strength of the characters in this book is really apparent; they’re complex, they’re conflicted, and they have so many secrets that they are visibly deeper than we get to see – yet. A really interesting community of magical people, Logiris is often under threat from human attack and ruled by several Kings and Queens, all of whom appear to have dominion over their own species.

Vampire Bites often goes into a lot of detail as to how the systems within this magical world work, including verification for access to bank accounts and vaults, and their apparently harsh justice system. This world, the characters, and the plot, are deep and complex, and a joy to read.

Only one thing had me knocking this book down to a four-star and that was the scenes of conflict and high stakes tended to draw themselves out. The drama became a bit lost in discussion, hesitation, and uncertainty, and the action didn’t pack as much punch.

But I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series, which is already loaded on my e-reader and ready to go!

Wicked Vampire Prince is the first book in Bella Klaus's new Royal Blood Saga series and we are taken right back to this author's amazing world full of a variety of supernatural creatures.
Yana is a witchy nun who has a dark secret that she is hiding from her fellow sisters. She is looked down on for a mistake that she made years ago, and when Logris is attacked by some mysterious magical disaster her secret is threatened to be revealed. The one she's hiding from is coming for her, and he's not going to forgive easily for the actions she took to hide from him.
Wicked Vampire Prince, the way that it begins, it's interesting. That's a fact, however, as the story progresses I get the feeling that I missed something. Now, while that is the way the author chose to write this particular storyline, I feel that it's a miss. The nagging feeling that I missed something important (like an entire set-up scene/book) is too hard to ignore. I think that it would have been a better path to have given readers a prologue that gave some insight as to what transpired to lead up to years later when this magical disaster strikes.
Once the storyline gains traction it gets interesting and holds my attention, but it's a struggle to get there because the characters have this hidden past that I'm having to wait to be brought in on. So, if you read this book and get confused just hang in there. It'll eventually begin to come together, but it's going to take some patience.
I'm rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. I almost put this book down because I thought that I had missed something somewhere, but this is the first book in this series so just hang in there.

honestly, i wouldn’t really classify this book as a romance. a dark romance maybe? but ultimately there’s nothing romantic about the relationship between yana and draco.

for obvious reasons, yana was still traumatized by what draco did to her years ago. i truly do not blame her for not having even one lick of trust for him. her insistence of pushing him away was justified, and draco just couldn’t seem to understand why. he just double downed on his manipulativeness. it was dreadful to read.

draco definitely did not possess any human morals. he operated on a different moral compass than us—this is not me making excuses at all. it is simply how he was. that’s why it was so hard for me to read just how awful he treated yana. the way he compelled her to obey him, the way he didn’t even try to understand where yana was coming from.

i felt so sorry for yana. so sorry that i wish i could give her the biggest hug. i felt her anxiety, her dread. she really tried her hardest to get out of her situation but ultimately, it was no use. he was always one step ahead of her. honestly, i’m not sure if i will pick up the next book. we’ll see.

Why did you return where I could find you if you didn’t want to be with me?” he asked.
“Blackmail, remember?”

This is the most original version of rejected mates I have read this year. Iyana and Draco are both devious in their ways, and their betrayals are epic. As a nun Iyana’s main duties involve preaching to the vampires to use bottled blood. The Goddess she worships is living at the Nunnery, so Draco has to convince her that being a Fated Mate is a good thing….Not.

Sister Mariah sighed. “Are you having a crisis of faith?”
Flinching, I met her hazel eyes. “No.” The word tumbled from my lips. “How could I possibly lose my belief in a living goddess?”

The Goddess is forgiving, except when she is not. Draco is devoted, except when he bemuses Yana into vassalism. Yana practices non-confrontational magic…until she needs to escalate. I was so entertained I wasted my Sunday reading this.

It is single-person POV with almost-sex and plenty of laughing moments, but it was not a romantic comedy. Expect a cliff-hanger of epic proportions. Wow. Just wow.

I’ve read the other series that takes place in the same universe as this one, and I loved them. This book is with a character in one of those series. More on that in a minute. I was immediately drawn into this book from the beginning, and I enjoyed myself the whole book. At times, I wondered how Yana wasn’t quite sheltered as I thought she should be, but that didn’t bother me. She’s a very strong character, and she makes a good fit for King Valentine’s uncle Draco. This brings me to the only thing I am unsure of in this book: I really don’t like Draco. I didn’t like him in the series he was in, and I’m not sure I really like him now. However, I am going to trust this author, and I’ll see where she takes me in the next book. LOL! Besides that, though, this was an excellent book. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Well, I really enjoyed this read, although I already had a negative response to Prince Draconius, he was awful toward King Valentine and Mera but I had mixed thoughts toward him after this read. Yana was a different character and obviously has some mixed feelings toward vampires but also made me angry about her feelings toward Mother Hecate. Obviously Draco knows something about the goddess which we don’t, hopefully we will find out more. When they were together it was kind of cute but mistrust and mis deeds may put a dampener on things. The twist in the end was amazing, what will happen next to Yana and Draco?
Great story and plot, the characters are interesting. I like that this isn’t the usual instant romance. Good banter, some sweet moments but I’m still unclear on where their romance will lead but I think it will be a massive trip.

Intriguing new story by Bella Klaus within the world of vampires. Iyana is a nun who grew up in the cloister of The Sisters of the Temple of Light with the goddess Hecate as the leader. Left on the steps as a young child, she learned the ways of the sisters and tried to help vampire bite victims recover from near death from blood loss and addiction to a vampires thrall. Some where along the way she met her fated mate Prince Draconius, an ancient vampire, who bit her and started his claim. She was able to get away, but he has shown up again causing problems, intrigue and lots of impure thoughts for Iyana. A fun adventure to read as both Prince Draconius and Iyana navigate their world of politics, penalties, magic, a bounty and the unfinished mate bond. Enjoy!

Wow didn't realize that we would be getting introduced to King Valentine's not so favorite Uncle Draco. I'm not even sure why I'm surprised I should've known that this story wasn't going to disappoint. I loved how fiercely strong and determined Yana is. So things might have gone as planned and of course she makes some terrible mistakes. But that ending was everything!!! I definitely didn't see that coming. The fact that it does end on a major cliffhanger just left me more eager and more excited to look forward to what will happen next. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.

Brought a villain to the forefront

Yana, a Sister of the Temple of Light, has hidden her history with Prince Draconis, vampire prince of New Mesopotamia, due to shame and fear. As the story progresses an unknown threat appears, an unwanted reunion occurs, and when their unwilling connection is explored it could doom them both. Bella Klaus brought a villain to the forefront romance in the world of Logris. It remains to be seen if he can redeem himself at all.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This is my first read from Bella Klaus and her interesting worlds. In this series we meet Yana a nun from the temple of light who is dedicated to saving the neutrals (cows) from the blood spa’s that use them for their blood donations. Fiercely strong and utterly sassy she’s not what you would expect from a nun. Hating vampire kind makes it very difficult when your mate is one… these characters were very complex and makes you think about who is actually right in certain situations. This book is full of twists and turns and ends in a cliffhanger that certainly leaves you wondering what happens next!

Holy cow! The first book was so good.

Wow! Prince Draconius is one scary dude. He came after his fated mate Yana who is a nun years ago. When she got away she created a voodoo doll in his likeness and created a curse that would make him forget her. She hid it from the other nuns because this was black magic and she could be expelled.
When the human world found out about the Supernatural community they tried to break the wards protecting the Supernatural world. So all hell has broken loose.
When Prince Drakonius breaks from the curse he comes after Yana with a fury.

Loved what happens in this story. So excited to see what happens next. Ready for Book 2. Enjoy!

Okay, I didn’t realise that this book was set in a shared universe. Anyway, didn’t matter too much, as this story made sense to me. First we have kickass nuns who work under a goddess fighting vampires. There’s an interesting mix of supernaturals in control. And a royal on the run (unjustly so? Who knows?!) I liked it for the most part, though I didn’t not enjoy the constant uncertainty in Yana’s mind (too much “back-and-forth” for my preference) The ending was great, and will make me want to read the next book.

Oh so good! I really loved this one. It is a cliffhanger and you will want the next book right away. The book starts around the same time the first series “Blood Fire Saga”. So there will be appearances from some of the characters from that series. This one centers around a new character, Yana. She is young and is part of a group of nuns that want to stop vampires from drinking from the vein. Her past and future will take you on a dangerous ride. She will make choices that could change her life and other’s lives as well.

Great new series

First in a new series, but it's set in the same universe as the author's Blood Fire saga books, so some characters and settings are already familiar.

The two main characters are, at least to begin with, as different as possible. I honestly didn't expect Yana's background! The story has a lot of twists and turns, you honestly don't know where they're going to end up, and some unexpected choices don't make sense until later in the book.

The cliffhanger is a doozy, but thankfully the next book isn't too far away!

I really shouldn't be surprised that Bella has ensnared me with another fantastic book! I should know to expect the unexpected with her stories, but nope! I am always left shocked and on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn woven into her books! This one has amazingly well developed characters in a world that has been so well created it feels like I've been there! I love the pace and flow of this book, it fits the mood and settings so well. I am really enjoying these characters and this storyline!

I was transfixed by the first book in the Royal Blood saga! Wicked Vampire Prince is a spinoff focusing on some characters we were introduced to in the other series. Prince Draconius, King Valentine's uncle, and Iyana have a bit of a sticky past, but she was able to escape him for a time. Since then, Yana has been helping vampire victims. It doesn't take Draco long to find her again, his mate, and what ensues are some interesting twists and turns for the characters. I am looking forward to the second book!

this is like real life

Betrayal back and forth. Bella Kai’s has the ability to make the characters in her books loveable and hateful at the same time. Our nun is devious and using black magic by tricking her ancient mate into believing he does not have a mate. During riots the charm holding Prince Draco forgetful breaks and he comes back with a vengenance. Full of lust and confusion about her feeling Yana yo-yos back and forth with her desire and mistrust. When the voodoo doll comes up again she gets a taste of her own medicine. Gotta read the next in the series.

This book was so so good! Iyana (Yama) is a nun in the Temple of Light. She was left on the steps as a child, learned from the Sisters, and tries to help vampire victims. Then she is kidnapped by her mate, Prince Draconius, bitten by him, and starting his claim. She manages to escape him only for him to find her. A fantastic read with wonderful characters, a great storyline, and filled with twists and turns, magic, and struggles. I can’t wait for the next book!

Bella Klaus brings us an inside look at a familiar character, and manages to add even more layers to Lamia and Logris while so doing. This series is not dependent on the reader having previously read the stories of the Vampire King, the Shifter King or the Demon King but if you *have* read them, I promise that the extra layers create some serious depth and flavour. Bella Klaus books are like a heaped helping of literary parfait, and who doesn't love parfait?!

This is an unexpected mate story for Yana and Draco; her dedicated to saving neutrals from the blood spas where they are used and tossed aside and him a vampire king/royalty.
Chit gets real in this story for Yana but its how these two enemies???? interact and the actions they both take that lead them to cliffhanger that has the reader so engrossed in the story. I mean one minute you are on her side and the next you are on his but in the end you are like OH SNAP!

This is another great vampire story that drew me in, I like the different take on the characters. A nun and a vampire, oh but there is so much more below the surface. This story will take you down a twisty road and have you look for the nest book. I Loved It! No Spoilers Here!
I received an ARC from the author and I am leaving this TOTALLY HONEST Review because I choose to and I enjoyed it!!!

Not often do you find a romance with the fmc being a nun lol but here we are. I love Bellas writing and style. While you are reading it, you come across characters from other books set in the same universe. It is well written and the characters are entertaining. I was so engrossed that the story I found myself at the end of the boom not really sure how it happened.Roll on the next book in the series.
