Lauren
All I wanted to do was become a mom. My biological clock had gone beyond ticking. It was screaming. But, I didn’t want the responsibilities of a man trying to make decisions about my life. However, meeting Maxim changes things. He has me thinking about forever and wishing on falling stars. I thought we were building a future, working on forever until he disappears without a trace leaving me for months. Now, he is back. Explaining that someone is after me and wants me dead. But, I shouldn’t worry, right. I don’t know what to believe, but he promises to bend, break, destroy everything to protect me. Oh yeah, he also says that he’s ready to give his heart to me. I've read this author's books before & really loved some of them. That said, this wasn't good. Lauren was so poorly written, the beginning of the book she was speaking like an almost militant black woman, even using that famous quote from Malcolm X about black women yet in the next breath she was fetishizing having mixed kids with a white patron at her coffee shop ( the name of the coffee shop is level 10 cringe) who was Lauren? She was acting like a desperate dog in heat to sleep with a man she didn't know to have a baby understanding that would be the end of their interaction. Going so far as to draw up parental rights paperwork for him to sign, so explain to me why she was mad & throwing a tantrum because he " left her" that MAKES NO SENSE There are high schoolers with more maturity than Lauren. Black women authors, I'm BEGGING you to evolve your bw heroines. Sassiness & horniness don't make for a compelling character to root for. When she wasn't being cringe, she was obnoxious. Where was the warmth, charisma, intellect & class? I've noticed that bw authors are leaning into the bratty heroine trope & so overdone. There's no balance of other great qualities on display to balance it out. Infantilizing a grown woman who claims to be ready to raise a child as a single parent is... a choice. Your readers should love BOTH characters, not just the man. Midway, I was actively rooted against Lauren because she acted like a petulant preteen who didn't know her own mind.

Maxim the watcher, Lauren his desire😍💕😍
Lauren just wanted to be a mom and Maxim was willing to help her become one and man did he put in work to make it happen whoa🥵😈. It’s heartbreaking how Lauren was left alone, I understood the reason for Max walking away but in the end, he came to his senses even while still in denial of his true feelings for her😊.
Maxim took his job as the families Watcher seriously, even seemed a bit overboard but it’s a good thing he was. Going back for Lauren was imperative because nobody is off limits when you’re trying to get revenge😣. The revelation from his enemy was mind blowing🤯 and homie should have just let it be but oh well, you reap what you sow. I was also really sad with the family fall out, I mean dude picked wrong family to betray and disrespect😤.
Loving all the side stories and coupledom like Michail/Ash, Dimitri/Ayana, Nyah/Mr Nobody😍😘🥰. These stories are going to be something else cuz the interactions they already have are hilarious, exciting, and full of drama. I mean the stuff Michail was saying had me rolling🤣. Not sure which guy will get the next story, but I hope it’s either Michail or Dimitri❤️

I really like the series thus far, but this one seemed to have a lot of fluff, making the story longer than it really needed to be! We really didn’t get to the real meat and potatoes until almost the end! Miss Lauren! All of this drama over a baby? Lauren was living the simple life with her sister, but really wanted a baby, to make her life complete. A sexy man who came into her coffee shop daily, piqued her interest, and she thought he would be the perfect baby daddy! Maxim! Now, I understand your behavior at the end of the last book! Maxim took his job as the watcher of his family very seriously! There wasn’t much that got by him, and he needed to be free of distractions to continue monitoring his people with ease. But Lauren wouldn’t let him be great! She seemed to consume his thoughts and he could not stay away from her! Then here comes the ish! Enemies known and unknown come out of the woodwork, trying to harm his family, and Maxim is not having that! Nikita really? Ughhh……. I love how the ladies are all portrayed to be strong and can protect themselves with weapons and hand to hand combat! Looking forward to more in this series, as I cannot wait to see if Dimitri finally breaks Ayanna down; and if Michail is able to get at Ash! 👍👍

On almost every page before this line, the author had the character talking about protecting black woman… Yet her character that plays a playlist from a man who not only destroyed Black young girls $ women’s lives but got away with it because people like the author… And through this book, the character didn’t care about Black women at all…
With that said, f*ck Renee Williams…
So no I didn’t finish the book… I skip to the end just so I can write this.

Great Read
Minus the typos, and getting the names mixed up, this was a good book! I grew to like Lauren, but I enjoyed her sister Ash more. She was a total bad a%$! I totally got why Michail was so attracted to her. He was like Dimitri😊 Maxim was everything. He was loyal to a dead woman who had never been loyal to him. He deserved better than what he got from that heffa. And he did that with Lauren!!! All the men in this family are ALPHAS, they love and protect one another without hesitation. They love and adore the women in their lives even more😍😍😍 I can't wait to read the rest of their journeys to finding love, and I an curious to see hoe Nobody is going to fit in all of this

Potential but.........
The book appetential but the author's poor grammar and Ability to skip around sometimes you kind of got lost. One scene will be happening and the next thing you know they're at the coffee shop ...how? I was so tired of the author stating that he never loved his ex wife he said that leaves a good 4 times with the zacked same words. The author also liked to remind us of who was the head of the family constantly. Me on the other hand I would kind of like to have forgotten that factIt was annoying the author lacks ability to use different words to explain the same point. She needs to get a editor and a good editor at that In order to make this book great it had great potential a 1000% but it was ruined due to poor editing and poor pacing of the book

didn’t have ending
So, are we just going to stop the series with unanswered twists and cliffhangers. If this book only cast Lauren and Maxim, I couldn’t have read it. Lauren character was boring, immature and whiny, didn’t like her at all. I still can’t figure out why she was supposed to be mad at Maxim after she got pregnant. She wanted a baby and he did what she asked. He never told her they were in a relationship. The storyline was good and I loved Maxim, Ash, Nyah, Dimitri, Michail. So, who was the dude in the coffee shop that saved Nyah? Did they ever find the uncle? What happened to Alexei and Viktor? Did Ash and Michail, Ayanna and Dimitri become a couple?

Good 👍!!!! I love twins….
This was good . I just love me some twins and for their women to have twins as well.
Unfortunately I didn’t, per say, like Maxim and Lauren. I thought Lauren was too soft, complacent, easy, gullible, annoying and extremely weak; while Maxim was also weak and a wannabe. Give me Michail any day, hours, minutes and second! I don’t mind Ash as well, but I think and hope that if there is a repeat, you switch the ladies for those twins.
I don’t know if I will read Ayana but I might be interested in Nyah and Mr…. Nikita was a surprise and a waste. Overall so far, this series was not too bad at all

This was a page turner full of twists and turns you didn’t expect
Lauren and Maxim were great together
The energy and love for family came off the pages like you could feel it
You were on the edge of your seat at times and hoping the next page gave you what you wanted to read
Renee did not disappoint with Book2
I don’t know what she is going to write for book 3 but I am definitely reading it

Good Read?
Unfortunately, style overshadowed substance. An otherwise good story gets brought down by inauthentic dialogue.
The problem with many interracial romances is very present in this story: falling short on characterization because of language. As a Russian national, Maxim and his family would not use the same patterns of speech as Lauren, et. al.
Also, the inability to discern between "conscience" and "conscious" is distracting and disappointing.

Lauren wanted a baby and she wanted the handsome mysterious man to go half with her. Maxim is attracted to the beautiful coffee shop owner; he won’t draw her into his world. He tells her he can only give her one night and it will be a night neither of them will ever forget.
While I enjoyed this story, the numerous errors and placeholders disrupted the flow of the story. Not to mention there was a lot going on and the story ended abruptly.

Yes I have to read more of your books. This series is filled with bad ,tough, strong women, Ang big strong devoted, protective men. Lots of everything I love to read. Maxim and Lauren
I enjoyed this read. It was good to read about women who knew how to protect themselves. Michael needs to stop being a joker and let Ash know how he really feels about her. Hopefully they find the missing uncle, Nah will get her man and Dimitri will convince Ayanna to be his. Can't wait for the next book.

Too many typos
The editing in this book was horrible and took away from the story. I usually like this author but Maxim and his cameras came off as creepy. How much will you allow a man to do in the name of love? That level of possessiveness turned me off, but everyone just accepted it. This book was not it, but I’ll continue reading this author.

More than she bargain for
It's understandable why Maxim moved the way that he did but the heart wants what it wants. Lauren is attractive to Maxim but she gets more than she bargain for. I love that that women knew how to protect themselves while also being protected. I enjoyed this story.

Mafia Max
I loved Maxim and La, they were able to build a friendship that later turned into love. Both were strong characters and complimented each other well. I also enjoyed the follow ups from book one, excited to read book three.

This wax a great story. But the typo's took away from some of it. All it would have taken was just proofreading your own works. If there's to be any more books in this series, there needs to be some serious editing done

Fantastic
I was so shocked seeing bad reviews for these 2 books. They were both great. Showed imagination and things I haven't seen in other books. If she had a good editor I can see it being a best seller. The writing style reminds me of Blue Sapphire.
