Qu’a-t-il en tête ?
Tower of God is a webtoon about a kid (Bam) who has lived his whole life in a cave with only one girl that came to visit him who became his everything. The girl (Rachel) decides to climb the "tower" which in their world leads to a place where any wish can be granted. Since Rachel is his everything, Bam decides to follow her into the tower. To climb the tower you must take tests at every floor to go up. Through his journey he meets a ton of friends who become his teammates to climb the tower. His only reason to climb the tower is to find Rachel who doesn't look back for Bam.
In my opinion, Tower of God is a very good webtoon. It brings out a lot of emotion and has some key themes of friendship and love. Bam knew nothing while living in his cave and when Rachel found him, she taught him so much and became his entire world. She was his entire reason for climbing the tower and yet she never looked back once to find him. The webtoon keeps the reader on the edge of their seat and has a lot of good action as well. There are many different elements to the webtoon that help create a whole world in your imagination. Seeing Bam start as a weakling who couldn't defend himself and get stronger is also really interesting and entertaining to see.
I think people that like action books or fantasy books would enjoy Tower of God. The characters and world that is created by the author made me want to read more and more. There were nights where I stayed up til as late as 4 am reading it because of how interesting it was. Overall, it was a very good story and I enjoyed it a lot.
5 stars. Also due to this being an ongoing series I have not finished it, since it is not complete, but it’s still a perfect 5 in my book. This is the first and only manhwa I’ve read, and oh boy is it a doozy. Just chapter after chapter of loveable (and hateable) characters and action. The art starts off a little weak (not to say it’s bad, but compared to his later work it pales in comparison), but SIU just gets better and better every single chapter until the art is stunning in every single panel. I have now read all the released chapters twice, and I was just as enthralled, if not more, during the second reread. The universe is just so dense with abilities, families, crime syndicates, and locations that reading through a second time you are still confronted with things you didn’t see the first time, while also understanding things more deeply. Just amazing. If you’re looking for a tour de force in storytelling and world building akin to Naruto, this is the story for you.
If you like fantasy, mystery, and action, this is the webtoon for you! The first season is a bit rough, but it's awesome to see how the author's art progresses over time. The story line and world development is mind-bogglingly awesome, and you're left wondering how it is possible for a person to come up with such creativity. The characters are great with ridiculous amounts of development, with nothing and no one as they seem. I seriously wanted to throw a party when it got an anime adaptation. SO GOOD! Would definitely recommend, but be ready for the long haul. Can't wait for it to start back up!
THE BESHHT! That’s all I can say for it. It’s absolutely amazing and mind blowing! The characters, plot, storyline and the ART!! I know it’s a lot but I’m sure you’ll be able to catch up cause once you start you WILL NOT stop! For the first season watch the anime and then start reading from the second season. In a few episodes you’ll be completely obsessed with it! It’s a masterpiece! Do not get lazy by seeing the episode count because once you’re done you’ll find yourself wishing for a thousand more! The whole thing about climbing the tower, clearing the floor test and moving on along with a lot of betrayals, friendships and dangers will get you going! READ NOW!!
Super cool series, started with anime and kept reading. Love the premise of the Tower, and there is so much lore. Most of the lore was handled pretty well but I think that as it developed it got a little too much going on. It's been hard for me to get back into it because there are so many freaking names I can't keep track of I'd have to start way back to get a grasp of what happened.
Awesome character designs, Khun is the bomb.com, and sweet precious Bam. I really hope season two comes out soon!!
Also sad that the plot seems to have fallen off after a while ... I've heard multiple people get bored around the train arc thing. Maybe I should start back up.
Okay, so the problem I had with God of High School applied to this manhwa as well, though it wasn't as intense. I was actually able to enjoy reading this Webtoon, but still, I really wanted to really enjoy and like this Webtoon, but that didn't really end up happening... I loved the lore, the plot, the art, literally everything about this Webtoon, but, like The God of High School, I found that I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to.
I'm planning on trying to reread this again in the future(maybe when it ends) and try out the anime.
Character development is at the forefront in this part. The regulars aren't at each other's throats for most of this time. Their training period ends with a test based on the rules of Hide and Seek. This part of the story is the most boring so far, but it does have a satisfying ending.
Oh my god yes! this is by far my favourite manhwa of all time Bams character development the plot the side characters the lancers everything is perfect how S.I.U steadily reveals all the hidden mysteries and all the connecting pieces like where did Bam come from? Who really is he? all the other side characters have their own unique back stories
and please do check it out and believe me I would give it 100 stars if I could
I've been pretty indifferent when going through a lot of series and genres. I enjoy the good ones and re-watch or re-read sometimes, but never in my life have I ever hated a character as much as I do, Rachel. Siu does a wonderful job encapsulating psychology and human behavior in this. The story is so rich. The world of the tower is simply mind blowing. So much potential and so many characters intertwined in a huge centuries long plot.
I've really been hoping to get into Tower of God, but after a pretty lackluster volume that failed to grab my attention, I've decided to quit. While I did like one of the plot twists in here quite a bit, I'm not willing to continue on for who knows how much longer to encounter something equally interesting, or any resolution.
This is a amazing book.It has fantasy but not the type of fantasy you would think it's realistic but with extra features that make it fantasy like adding this thing called "shinsu" and the world they live itself is extraordinary. It includes characters that you can relate to except they have supernatural abilities. I promise you if you give it a try you will not regret it.
I love how complicated the story is. The characters are so unpredictable, with unfixed role/image; and their character developments are built in unexpected ways. You'll never know who, when and how a character will be a traitor. It's basically about survival, trust, betrayal, unity in disunity, and human desires.
If you want to be bamboozled in the best possible way, this will be a great read. Full of action, adventure and an unassuming MC, you will be hooked from the first panel. Not surprised that this was picked up as an anime.
This is more of a bookmark on why I stopped reading it than anything. I stopped at chapter 103. I stopped because it made me see more evil in humanity than good. I kept getting my hopes up that maybe it will be a good outcome and it never was. It’s all so tragic.
Obviously I am only as finished as the manwha is, but I will continue to read the rest of the chapters as they come out. It's really great seeing the artist's skill evolve and grow over the course of all these years. The plot is decent. I would recommend it :)
