What is supposed to be a reconnection for her and the start of a new life for him turns into a steamy love affair on a luxurious Mexican resort.
With their marriage facing rocky waters, Avian Linzy decides that what her and her husband, Marcellus, need is a trip to Mexico to set their union right again. However, on the day that they are set to leave, Marcellus announces to Avian that he wants a divorce. Broken hearted, Avian isn’t sure that she should go through with the vacation, but with the urging of her best friend, Lakeisha, she boards the plane to Mexico, alone. Lakeisha believes this trip can help Avian heal, but Avian remains skeptic until she unexpectedly meets the handsome Casyrius Knowlton.
Casyrius Knowlton is a man of means and has no problem getting what he wants, including his current position as a sports agent. In Mexico, Casyrius is planning to marry his high school sweetheart, Kiami Green. Casyrius’s love for Kiami runs deep, but that doesn’t stop him from having doubts when it comes to their upcoming nuptials. The ties to their relationship are hanging on by a slim thread, but completely snap when a would-be tragic event lands Avian in Casyrius’s arms. Literally.
Over the course of a week, Casyrius grows closer to Avian, but after his reasoning for being in Mexico is revealed, Avian disappears without a trace, and he’s determined to find the woman he’s unknowingly given a piece of his heart to. It won’t be easy, but Casyrius learns that anything worth having, rarely is.
After getting her heart broken twice within a week, will Avian be able to find love again, or will she hold on to what could have been between her and Casyrius? If Casyrius finds her, will he be able to handle the secrets that she was hiding from him for so long?

Complicated love story

While an easy low angst love story makes a good read, I love a romance that’s a little complicated because sometimes love is a little messy. Avian and Case’s journey to love was definitely complicated and full of drama. Bianca started us off with the drama and the Tyler Perry Angry Black Women vibes making me want to bust Marcellus upside his head for Avian, I mean bro was so foul and poor Avian was just broken but honey when she met Case sis came alive. Case toxic relationship had me wishing he had a sister or female cousin to go upside Kiame’s head one good time sis was crazy crazy. While Case went about him and Avian’s entanglement all wrong I could understand why he did what he did. Whew the way that man was chasing Avian down had me swooning, I loved his vulnerability when it came to his feelings for Avian, that man was willing to bare his soul to anyone who would listen over that woman and I was definitely here for it. In the end Case got his mind right and made the necessary moves to finally be happy.

And chile be careful who you call your friends because babay when they want what you got they will do whatever it takes to get it. I knew something was up with that friend but whew…envy always rears its ugly little head in the end.

This was my first Bianca Xavier read, sis had me hooked from the first page so I will most definitely be checking out her catalog.

Well someone talked about this book on FB and it was a very good read. She got on my last nerves throughout the book. But she finally
Let love win. I mean come one now. You stayed with a dude that didn’t like your skin color, your. Hair or your lady parts!! . Yeah that’s a no. And stayed for 13 years. He was just the fool too for staying with that fool

Love wins the day

This was a cute romance. I’m a sucker for a surprise baby. I loved Avian and Chase’s relationship. But their toxic significant others were a hot mess. I’m glad they got their HEA with each other.

Take me

This was so cute. I love everything about Case. He was the definition of growth and maturity. Oh, and let's not forget the BDE. Great read!!

I love this book. It was great, the chemistry between Avian and Case was real and I'm glad that I read their story. I'm even more glad that they found their way to each other because they weren't happy with those other relationships they were only happy together. I loved Avian friends for always looking out for her too.

Great story!

First, this was a really good story. I liked the love the main characters shared and the way we got a real view into toxic relationships, from both the male and female perspectives. The only barrier to this being a great story was the grammatical errors. There wasn't an overload, but just enough to be irksome. I would still recommend reading the book.

So Avian is dumped by her husband and is about to be kicked out of her house - Tyler Perry Diary of a Mad Black Woman style - but decides she’s going to take a trip to Mexico first. In Mexico, while “coming to terms” with her new reality, she meets Casyrius, who seems like the perfect man. But GIRL, he’s in Mexico for HIS wedding 😒🙄. Of course, Case doesn’t immediately tell Avian about his impending nuptials, but when she found out…my gawd, my gawd.

Now listen, I enjoyed every second of the foolery! The book didn’t go in the direction I thought it would with the wedding, but it was nice to see Case sweat and have to deal with his decisions for a while. Case was a bit of a f*ckboy, so I really appreciated Avian not making things easy for him. But I also (slightly) understood how delicate his situation was and why he did what he did.

Anyway, if you’re with the shits and want to read a purely entertaining Black romance, this is it!

Real Love

I first read this book back in 2018 but I enjoyed reading it again. This is my review from way back when:

When you wrote, "Falling for a Black Billionaire," I was so in love that you had switched to romance and thought you had reached a higher level of your writing potential. This love story proves that you've elevated even higher. Case and Avian really went through matters of the heart. I still can't believe that Case married Kiami knowing that she was unstable AND cheating on him with his best friend Greg who was jealous of Case. Marcellus was a dirty dog and I'm glad he caught hell for doing Avian the way he did her. I'm glad she had true friends like Marcus and Key to have her back. I love how the girls initials are AD like Avian but the boys names are like Case name. I'm glad that they got their HEA.

Admirable and encouraging

I absolutely love this story. It kept me captivated from beginning to end. The way that Case loved Avi is admirable and encouraging. I'm so glad that Celly, Greg, and Kiami got that azz whooping that they were asking for. Now, Avi should have spoken up sooner because precious time was missed between her loved ones. Regardless of time, Case knew who and definitely who he wanted without a doubt. Now, after realizing what he didn't want, he shouldn't have gone through with it, forget saving face for the heck of it. But by God's timing, things fell into place as they should.

Book or Documentary 🔥

Wow I felt like I read a documentary of a woman and man who truly loved each other but at the wrong time. It’s crazy but that epilogue felt real. I really enjoyed this book but sometimes you just have to follow that gut feeling cause so much could’ve been avoided if Case followed his gut feeling. What was up with the daddy though he act like he didn’t wanna see his son happy or something. Greg smh gotta do better but I figured something was up when he kept pushing him to get married but I ain’t think he was trying to take his money. Mimi was delusional like who poke holes in their husband condom. Her parents needed therapy right along with her.

Second time around, second chances.

This book was the second time around with second chances for both me and the actual characters. I don't even know how to put in words how fate interacted through this story. Avian was guilty of being genuine, a walking wife of praise and to be worshipped. She was married to Satan pure and simple. Case found the most toxic relationship and tried to make it work but Devine intervention once again showed up. Remarkable story that you will read over and over again. Soul mates!!

it was ok

The read was ok for me. I felt a lot of things were farfetched. The situation with the ex-husband was truly unrealistic for me, you're married for 13 years and you didn't know???? I couldn't understand the logic of Case and Mimi,I get why the proposal happened but once you knew what you knew that was definitely grounds for leaving. The excuse about tmz was stupid because did u not think they would be in your business once you did a quick annulment? He prolonged that situation unnecessarily. The kids were cute.

Ooowee.

Loooved it. This whole book had me feeling those emotions. It was a tad bit repetitive at times but that was fine because sometimes the emphasis was needed. I'm so glad Case and Avi got their h.e.a. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the epilogue because it wasn't even an epilogue, but a summary of the book and how their love story unfolded. I was really looking forward to several years later with them and their kids all grown up with a little comedic scene thrown in...but overall, still worth the 5 🌟 s. Happy reading! 📚

Man

I usually don’t leave reviews because I’m a reader not a writer if you get my drift… but I had to leave one for this one… this is not my first book by this author but it definitely helped solidify my love for her work… at first I was annoyed by how Avian handled things but then I grew to love her and understood exactly what she went through… I laughed at her nickname for Marcellus because he definitely belonged in a cell lol… I loved how this story played out making things not happen over night… that made it that much more relatable… this was a great read for sure

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story exceeded my expectations! I loved this string so much! Case & Avions story was not ideal, but it definitely worked for them. The time apart didn’t change the love they had built in only a matter of a week. Case clearly was wrong for starting with his ex but i can understand you stay just to pass time. I’m glad that Case & Avion got their happy ever after! ❤️

Avian

Avian was married to Marcellus for 13 years and it was pure hell. He asked her for a divorce hours before their trip to Mexico. She was devastated and went to Mexico anyway. She tried to take her life and ended up meeting a sexy stranger who in one week captured her heart! Case was head over heels, but he was in a situation. Avian found out and ran far away! A great read!

Crazy

This was a lot! I couldn't wrap my head around why a smart girl would stay in a toxic relationship so long (13 years)., didn't make sense. I have never met anyone that would marry a person after finding out they sleeping with your best friend. Why marry to be miserable!! There was so much bad advice from people that should be looking out for you. Lakeisha and Marcus were the real best friends. This was so emotionally draining I was indifferent at the end.

omg yes

This is what I’m talking about the story right here the spiciness wow. I want this to be made into a movie so bad like you know one of those movies from passion flix where they show you everything yeah I want that anyways, get this book cause it’s really good. Five stars but then again I enjoy everything that she writes so call me bias but whatever you’re gonna love it too. Trust me trust me.

This was a beautiful story of love, betrayal, 2nd chances, and finding yourself. I will forever root for Case and Avian. The way things took place and went down in that one week was everything. Yeah, this was well worth the read and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

This was my 1st read by this author and I was not disappointed and it was truly a 10 outta 10 for me!!!!

This book was everything and some. Case was definitely BDE!! At the end of the day true love is all our hearts want. It doesn’t matter how and when we meet our person, when it’s meant to be it’s meant to be! I’m so happy that Case and Avi never stopped loving each other and faith put them back together. This was a great read Bianca!!

whew

Chile! I’m so glad that Avi and Case made it work and that he didn’t stop being persistent. Fooling around and waiting on Avi would have had them stuck in the same place. I understand being cautious and guarding your heart, but she was so stubborn. Celly, Greg, and Kiami needed their whole tail ends beat! They were so toxic and evil.

Crazy

This was the craziest love triangle I've ever read. I couldn't in good conscious give it more than 3 stars because of the storyline. No one is going to willingly commit to someone that cheated on them with someone close to the couple. Everything after that made no sense to me... 🤔

great story

This was a great story, I loved it. I also love the relationship Key and Marcus had with Avian. Marcellus got his karma. I don’t understand why Case married Kiami after he found out about her and Greg. Forget public opinions I would’ve dropped her like a bad habit. But I loved the ending. Team Case and Avi
