Zack - Life has been pretty hectic lately. After working long hours at multiple jobs, I finally saved up enough money for a down payment on a house. The ink barely had time to dry on the mortgage paperwork when things started falling apart and needing repairs. Just when I think my luck can’t get any worse, my truck breaks down and I find myself on the city bus. But what I saw as misfortune turns out to be a blessing in disguise when I sit by a beautiful blue eyed boy named Blake. He’s sweet but not totally innocent, curious and playful, but in definite need of structure and guidance. He presses all of my buttons and checks all of my boxes; Blake is everything I’ve been searching for in a partner...and a pup. I can just picture him on all fours with a cute little tail, playing without a care in the world. But is it all wishful thinking on my part, or will I finally get the chance to become the Master I’ve always dreamed of being? My luck may be turning around after all. **Thank you for your interest in my book! This title is very low angst and insta-love, following a relationship on the fast track. It is the third and final title in the “Secret Desires” series, and the books are best when read in order. This story features the love between a sexy Master and his sweet, playful pup. It’s packed with heat and BDSM elements, but is still warm and fuzzy because I want my readers to finish my books with a smile on their face. Laughter is guaranteed, and each read delivers its own type of drama. Thanks again for taking a look and happy reading!

I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!

Oh no! I’m so disappointed with this one. It was actually super boring and it missed any of the charm of the previous two books. I didn’t even really find this cute or sweet; I just found it... boring.

The relationship between Blake and Zach was very superficial and I couldn’t really see a true connection between them. Whereas the previous two books felt like a love story mixed in with kink, this one felt more like a kink story where the two people involved somehow convinced themselves they were also in love. I just wasn’t feeling it.

The kink in this book was that of puppy play, and I have to admit that I skimmed most of the scenes that featured them ‘playing’ since I was already so unimpressed with the couple, I simply couldn’t be bothered to try to get into their kink here. So I really can’t say anything on this part of the book, considering I honestly don’t know what happened there exactly.

I really do love every cameo that features Ollie, though; he is just absolutely adorable, and I’m loving his relationship with Holden more and more. These two are definitely my favourite couple in the series and they genuinely seem to fit together perfectly. Seeing Ollie be his cute self while Holden fusses over him and melts over every adorable thing he does were definitely the highlights of this book.
Unfortunately there just wasn’t much about Blake or Zach’s own relationship to keep me entertained or interested.

hehe they’re so touchy touchy with each other aaaaaahhh 🥰 my love language is cured reading this! hahahaha CUTE! not too insta and different storytelling of puppy play than I’m used to. I didn’t know that deep emotional connection Blake had for the animals had some kind of relation to him being a puppy for his Master. and the way the kink was portrayed wasn’t a fan of mine but I liked the book regardless.

I didnt read the previous books but the cameos were wonderful. All of the d/s dynamics just worked between all of them and how they respected each other, I love it. This is why I love concept of BDSM in books a lot. The whole BDSM community is fascinating honestly.

I love SM when Ollie meets Blake as a pup the first time. The moments they share aaaaaahhh so CUTE! and I always love the “collar” proposal in puppy plays AHHH !!! 😭😭😭😭

brb sobbing while

Our dinner scene was an interesting mix; Holden served Ollie his food on a plastic plate, spreading it out so that it would cool faster, and gave him a sippy cup full of fruit punch. Franklin served Shawn, and waited for his Master to take his first bite before digging in. I turned to Blake to ask if he wanted me to scoop some casserole onto his plate and found him stuffing a roll into his mouth. And you know what? It was perfect.

No but the real reason why I'm sobbing is because it's the 8th week and it's the 8th week of hell because I'm fucking SLAMMED. Like, HOW DO I HAVE MULTIPLE DEADLINES EVERY DAY. send help (and smutty therapy please).

Okay for reals, I'm mad it took me 2 days to read this tiny book but also so soft for this couple cus PUPPY PLAY (watch the porn y'all so y'all will get it) and this oh so warm and open minded family has grown and I'm just here, sobbing my heart for them.

Insta-love puppy play romance.

As adorable as this was, it fell a little flat for me. Definitely my least favorite of the series.
Even though I knew it would be insta-love, it was a little too fast-paced for my liking.

The puppy play was great, and I love that each book explored a different kink.

Fun, but probably not really memorable.

CW and tropes(spoilers):
- Puppy play
- Age gap
- Insta-love
- Found family
- Strict top/bottom roles

cute but short.

the books kept getting shorter and shorter as the series went on.

I haven't read much puppy play and i am still not sure it is something i am interested in reading about, but we will see being a mood reader its pretty much whatever sparks my interest in the moment.

I am also glad that blake didn't run away from his Dom like the other two boys, instead he ran to Zach!

these are definitely not the last Jayda Marx books i will read.

Sweet story focusing on Blake a young pet store clerk who falls for the handsome older Zack, not realizing Zack is a Dom looking for a permanent partner. Not a "little" or a "boy" but his heart really wants a pup and when he meets Blake, he knows he's the one.

Insta-love, but the author does warn about that so if you don't like declarations of love within the first few days, don't read this. And though i didn't mind that, there were other issues that made the story drag a bit and things that I just didn't like.

That being said, toward the end, when Blake reveals his inner pup to his friends, including Ollie, the little guy from book one, the author's writing of that scene was very touching. Then Zack's pride in his pup (named Lucky for pup play) and their dynamic after that scene brought me to tears--something not usually achieved.

Couples from books one and two make a few appearances and overall this was enjoyable.

My favorite of the three in this series, featuring puppy play. I felt like Zack and Blake had the most chemistry, and they were both real people with ambitions and not someone who had nowhere to go versus someone rather rich. Of course it’s fast paced instalove just as expected by the author, but it was a tad more grounded.

Low angst and feel good book

What a lovely end to the series. Zack finally got his pup and all the previous main characters merged together and a fitting end it was. Very much insta love but that is why I read jayda's books it makes me smile.

What a beautiful way to close a series.

I enjoyed each of these books. They are sweet and while being their own story still build onto each other. Leaving us with three great couples and one amazing family.

Zack et Blake

Daddy/Maitre et Chiot

📖

Because I wasn’t just searching for a boyfriend or a lover; I was a Master looking for a pup. - Zack

1st Person, Dual POV

3rd Act Break Up: No
Slow-burn: No
HEA: Yes
MC sex without other MC(s): No

Spice: 2.5/5
Angst: 1.5/5
Fluff: 4.5/5
Structure/Format/Flow: 5/5
Overall: 5/5

Main Characters:
Zack: 34, Dom/Master, Waiter (Dream job: Chef), Loving, Dreamed of meeting his own pup
Blake: 22, New Sub/Pup, Pet Store Worker (Dream job: that right there!), Major Golden Retriever vibes

My Opinion:

Compared to the other two, this book felt a lot more relaxed and just a feel-good story. (The other two were too but this had little to no angst, well, neither did the other two really, but there was just a vibe about this one I can’t describe). I loved how they communicated their needs and concerns. Zack was a good Master and took care of his pup. He talked about what this particular kink was and provided resources for more information, made sure Blake had a safe word, and wouldn’t have unprotected sex until they got tested. These may seem like super basic things, but they get glossed over by people who think they are “Doms” when they really aren’t. I’ve read a few puppy play books and never really clicked with one but this one was super nice! I also have a thing for Jayda Marx so that could be why! If you are a fan of insta-love, try this one out!

“All of this is great, but you’re my dream, pup. You’re what’s important in my life, and you’re what makes it worth living. I love you.” - Zack

In the final installment of the "Secret Desires" series, "Good Boy" delivers a delightful and heartwarming tale of unexpected connections and the transformative power of love. The review aims to capture the essence of the story, emphasizing its low angst, insta-love narrative that takes readers on a fast-paced journey of discovery, passion, and fulfillment.

The protagonist, Zack, finds himself at a crossroads in life, navigating the challenges of homeownership and unexpected repairs. The twist of fate that strands him on a city bus becomes the catalyst for a life-changing encounter with Blake, a blue-eyed boy who becomes the unexpected missing piece in Zack's world. The review adeptly conveys the charm of Blake's character – sweet yet not entirely innocent, curious and playful, but in need of the structure and guidance that Zack is uniquely positioned to provide.

The central theme of the Master-pup dynamic adds a layer of intrigue to the narrative, and the review successfully captures the anticipation and desire that Zack feels for Blake. The depiction of their connection, marked by instant attraction and a shared desire for a particular lifestyle, sets the stage for a relationship that promises to be both passionate and nurturing.

The review expertly navigates the balance between heat and BDSM elements, emphasizing the warmth and fuzziness that characterize the overall tone of the book. The assurance of guaranteed laughter adds an appealing element, promising readers an engaging and entertaining experience. The acknowledgement of the book's low-angst nature further reinforces its status as a feel-good read.

A noteworthy aspect highlighted in the review is the recommendation to read the series in order, underlining the interconnected nature of the titles. This guidance ensures that readers can fully appreciate the narrative development and character arcs across the trilogy.

In conclusion, "Good Boy" stands out as a captivating and satisfying conclusion to the "Secret Desires" series. The review effectively communicates the book's strengths, from its engaging characters to its fast-paced, insta-love storyline. Readers seeking a combination of passion, humor, and BDSM elements will find "Good Boy" a delightful and smile-inducing read.

Sigh. Adorable.

What an adorable conclusion to the Secret Desires series by Jayda Marx. I have been waiting for a puppy play book from her for so long and I was not disappointed. Granted, it’s puppy play lite, but I am all in.

Zack has been looking for his pup for a long time and a series of mishaps lands him right in the bus seat next to Blake. Blake has never heard of puppy play before, but when he hears how Zack explains it, he realizes it’s exactly what he needs in his life.

Watching Blake explore his pup side and seeing Zack become the Master he always knew he could be was beautiful. I loved watching Lucky play with his Master. There were sexy times and there were sweet times. As always with a Jayda book, we get our HEA and sigh with how lovely it is.

We also got to catch up with Holden, Ollie, Shawn and Franklin. I love the tidbits we get to see how some of our favorite couples are doing.

Definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a swoon-worthy read.

Zach worked long hours at multiple jobs to make the down payment on a house when he then had things fall apart and he needed to work on repairs then his truck broke down and he had to take the city bus. What could be seen as a misfortune became a blessing as he sat beside a beautiful blue-eyed boy called Blakewho is sweet, curious and in need of structure and guidance. He presses all of the buttons and checks all of the boxes and this is everything Blake has been searching for in a partner and pup. Is it wishful thinking or will he become the master he has always wanted to be?

I enjoyed this story with the chance meeting and the instant attraction which then changed into an introduction to puppy play. I loved the way that the other boys in the series loved to play with Lucky and everyone was so accepting which must have made it easier for Blake. Their relationship was full of clear and easy communication and they had a chance at a relationship from the start. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with puppy play.

Puppy play perfection

I absolutely love how Jayda Marx gives her characters unique attributes - whether it be a medical condition like narcolepsy or a specific submission - and then takes us on a journey of discovery and enlightenment. You can always be guaranteed to learn something while reading about sweet subs and the strong men that love them. I'm so glad that Zack and Blake found their HEA together and I loved the interactions with old friends - Ollie and Holden, Franklin and Shawn. Even though the stories are of an instalove variety, there is a logical progression and background that makes it all work. I definitely re-read these books all the time and highly recommend them all! I hope the author continues with these characters, as I'm completely addicted at this point! So good!

- an MM romance! pet play (puppy), instalove, age gap, BDSM, D/s relationship, found family trope!
- this one had a MUCH sweeter start than the previous book damn
- very cute first date!! and they communicated SO WELL
- kinda gutted this book was under 200 pages again
- LOVE CONFESSIONS AFTER A THREE DAYS
- watching them explore puppy play together was honestly the sweetest
- cos i got to the third act conflict and thought i was 40% in 😂
- MOVED IN AFTER A WEEK
- i wish we’d had a proper scene where the roommates were confronted, would of been very satisfying
- it was super super cute how Ollie and Frankie played with Lucky!!
- really great sex scenes!!
- the epilogue was absolutely my favourite, it was so so sweet and so happy everyone was happy!!
- this was super surface level but still incredibly sweet and fun!

I'm a fan of puppy play and this is cute, where Zach meets Blake on a bus, they make a date and he believes that Blake would make a good puppy (which he's looking for) although Blake isn't aware of puppy play. However he takes to it like a duck to water and within 48 hours they are confessing love (not sure they kissed yet) and move in together within 72. I know it happens and I know this is insta-love but whew, your head spins. Still it's cute and low angst and I enjoyed the read despite the insta-love. You get to see a fair bit of the two couples from the first two books as well. You should read them first but not essential.

Like the rest of the series, this book was super sweet. The whole gang made such a cute family, it was nice to watch them be so accepting of each other’s kinks.

Also, finally Zack gets his story! Blake was such a sweetheart but I was so happy he could protect himself when needed. He has such a delicate personality that it’s easy for him to be hurt but I’m so happy Zack is there to take care of him.

They were so precious together and I loved how they supported each other to reach their dreams at the end.

I love this book so much it was my very first puppy play romance I don’t think I could’ve put this book down if I wanted to even though It was short and sweet I loved it. I love the way we got all the books from the other character in this book as well. I love they all became friends, and I love how they became friends cause you really don’t see it in either the books until you read this one, but I don’t think I would change anything from this book. I love Zack and Blake

Everyone has dreams.

So many times we sit and fantasize of a life we would love but just awaken to the world as it really is. There are not many people who take a chance and step forward to grab hold of there true desires.. Fear of the future, fear of what's to be, fear of what will be said all control our lives. Break your bonds grab hold of life and live. Everyone has dreams live them.

I read this a week ago and basically forgot everything except one worked in a pet store and didn’t know much about puppy play and the other is the waiter that was nice in the previous books and they get along well and are cute. I think I prefer this kinda book where both already know more about the kink rather than one teaching the other but this was good I think. Lol.

2/5 on spice. 3/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears.

Pup Lucky was so cute

Blake was struggling with life but enjoyed his job at the pet store but when he meets Zack everything just clicks. Zack had a new fixer up house, his older pick up that breaks down and he rides the bus and sees Blake. Teaching Blake as Lucky the pup was everything Zack dreamed of for his life.

It was so nice that the other couples from previous books from the series.

This one felt a bit more grounded but still pretty wild... unbelievable... actually, a word of caution. Who ever reads this books must NOT take them as a good representation of BDSM or power exchange dynamics. These books are fantasy, quick romance, easy trust, cheesy lines and lots of smut.

If that's what you like or are looking for, give the series a read. I give it a 3 out of 5 and I'm done with the series and the author. Just not my kind of books.

Fantastic!

This was a classic jayda Marx special: lots of feels and lots of heat. Zach and Blake completed each other so perfectly and their relationship was beautiful. I loved that all 3 couples had a good relationship. The scene with Ollie and lucky playing together was adorable. Great completion to the series and a great story all on its own.

Book ends so fast

You know when you read a good book? It always end so fast. I like that these love matches have very little angst. When there are so much angst I. The story, you sometime just want to slap the characters over the head. But I'm happy that Zach found his man and a happy home.

Wonderful Series

I'm sad to let Ollie, Franklin and Blake go. They will hold a special place in my heart. Three very different boys just wanting to be loved by their Daddy and Masters. Holden, Shawn and Zack are the epitome of Daddy and Masters. If only society was this accepting. I highly recommend this series and will definitely come back to it again.

I couldn't finished this one. It seemed as all of the characters were the same, acted the same way.... Everybody was so sweet and naive, even the wannabe daddies. I understand the need for a sweet, romantic story, but it was too much for me .The way Jayda Marx writes is like a dream book of teenage girls. Nothing against it, but it's just not my cup of tea:-(

Cute story. I just couldn't get into this one. It was a little too simplistic. I knew that it would be an insta-love story but their just wasn't the development to the book I had hoped for. The author did a good job with presenting the puppy play and the thoughts behind it all. So that was good but otherwise it was just bland.
