Rate this book
A Guided Journey through the Bible That Helps Christians Develop Daily Scripture-Reading Habits Most Christians recognize the value in regular Bible-reading habits but struggle to find the time or motivation. The  ESV Daily Reading A Guided Journey through God’s Word  was designed to encourage readers by helping them walk through the entire Bible at a manageable pace. This two-year plan assigns readings to weekdays and leaves the weekends free for further study, deeper reflection, or catching up on missed days. Each reading features brief introductions and notes by Greg Gilbert and Alex Duke, 2–3 chapters of Scripture, and space to answer a reflection question―inviting readers to thoughtfully engage with every chapter of the Bible. Believers in all stages of life will find encouragement in this specially designed reading plan that meets them where they are, helping them to stay motivated as they develop new and lasting habits.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” | I have completed a handful of cover-to-cover Bible reading plans, and the ESV Daily Reading Bible is by far my favorite! If you read it 5 days a week, as I did, it takes about a year and a half to complete. I love that the introduction to each reading is largely contextual and only slightly devotional in nature, providing timely reminders of the historical and theological backdrop of the text without overstating opinions and interpretations. If you’re considering reading the scriptures all the way through, the ESV Daily is a great way to do so!
