Oh my the third book in this series and these characters are yet again thrown into the mire! I really like Cass but her budding romance with Aidan is seriously getting to be something that the author just can't ignore. I mean constantly zipping from here to there and then maybe even somewhere in between and always you just know that if they could catch a break, just stop for a moment and explore the possibilities than this couple could be in for some serious commitment! So perhaps this just might be the instalment that I've been waiting for but alas you really will have to read it to find out!
Ok I've addressed the possibility of their relationship firming up but what about the plot? Those who have read the previous instalments will realise that the Monster who originally imprisoned the three FireSouls is back and this time we get a lot more of their backgrounds fleshed out. The sisters ( of the heart) have so far remained hidden but things seem to be changing and more Demons are showing up. As if that wasn't bad enough a trusted friend is in deep doo doo but saving him will take a lot more fire power then Cass and Aidan have. Oh yes Cass might still struggle with her powers but when it's obvious that she needs to step up you just know that this brave young woman will confront anything, even her past!
First can I just say how much I love the covers that this series has . Then I really should comment on the fact that although I'm primarily a romance reader it's the action and adventure that grips me here. I love the trials the characters face with unexpected adversaries and trust me I will never look at tree roots quite the same way again! Plus I love that in the midst of the most dangerous moments Cass clears her head and just simply carries on. She's a fabulous heroine paired up with Aidan who has to be the nicest guy on the planet which might sound sickly sweet but just isn't .
So we do learn a lot more about Cass and the other FireSouls here but the mean author who wrote this gives even more breadcrumbs for us poor readers to follow! Frankly I had wondered if this might turn into a trilogy but that's certainly not happening. A great story full of action and surprises and in my opinion suitable for readers of all ages.

Again another story and adventure was executed marvelously in this sequel. I was so captivated in the story and the moment I started it, and I could not put it down. And just like the first and second book, I was head over heels IN LOVE with all the characters!
The Characters All the female protagonists in this book are badass, witty and definitely my favorite book-bff's. All the characters has a strong character. There is also a Girl power thing in this book that makes me admire this book so much. No all crappy female damsel-in-distress kind of thing. But pure I'm gonna kick-your-ass sweety kind of thing. And Its my decision to make, not yours kind of thing. SO yes. Every character will surely get into you.
Strong camaraderie. Just like the first and second book her deirfíur Del and Nix are present. And just like I said, the refreshing thing about this book is the essence of sisterhood inspite of them being not related in blood. There are also characters in this book that will be part of Cass's inner friends. There is an unconscious alliance being formed in every book that I seem to notice everytime Cass's was doing good things using her Firesoul. And really I can't wait for the moment when all this people stand up for her and her deirfíur when the time comes that their power was revealed. I can feel, deep in me that, this people they helped, will be a great part of the acceptance of the Firesoul in Magica Society.
The Romance. I just love how Aidan and Cass love for each other starts to develop. No insta-love, but simple gestures that will make you smile that they are truly meant for each other. I love how they take their time in knowing each other. There are possibility for them to be in a more serious relationship, and I can't wait for it to be official for them. *giggling* The romance that brewed between Cass and Aidan was heartwarming.
The World Building and Plot. Okay, this is the part that I actually like in this series. Every book has its own story and adventure for Cass and the gang. And every book gets better and better. Every book tends to reveal tid bits of Cass's lost memories that leads to some answers and more questions in return that will make you crave for the next book. As for the plot, it was solid. Sooo action packed and fast paced, it was ever present in the story. It never let down and in all honestly, I am so happy it didn't loose its pace from the start up to the beginning.
My verdict, this sequel is fiercely good, that ending set so much potential for the next sequel and seeing as how Cass's well, lost something makes me swell with anticipation on what will happen next on the next book. I know the fourth book will blow me away and I'm sooo looking forward to it very much.

I received this audio book in exchange for my honest review.
I'm seriously a fan of this series. As I've said in my reviews of Ancient Magic and Mirror Mage, the characters are fun and quirky and the adventures are fast-paced and exciting.
The got-your-back friendships in this series continue to impress me. People who put themselves on the line for each other are a rare gem and make for wonderful characters to read about. The relationship between Aidan and Cass continues to grow, and I really like these two together. With their full-on crisis mode adventures, they get so little time to fall in love, but they are definitely on that road.
I also loved the expansion of the world and unique creatures in this book. I absolutely loved the elemental dragonettes. Of course, the unique abilities of very key players in this story were fascinating to me as well. I loved the portal and other-world depiction.
But most of all, I love a series where the protagonists continue to develop and their depth of character is shown again and again. Cass faces the Monster in this adventure, and I can't wait to see her take him down for good one day! Our brave and determined Cass put herself at risk in the previous book, but here she sacrifices a lot of who she is and what has become so important to her. But she does it willingly so that she can save her town and protect her friends. Will she be able to get back what she lost? I don't know! I need the next book to find out!

Stolen Magic is the 3rd installment of Linsey Hall’s Dragon's Gift: The Huntress series where Cass and crew are pitted against a nasty bad guy only known as the Master or Monster. Cass and her 2 friends are Firesouls which are hunted in their magical society so they are hiding not only from the bad guy but from everyone. In Stolen Magic Cass has to use her magic in and around the magic investigators trying not to get caught while she saves the town of Magic’s Bend from destruction.
What I’ve like is that we have forward movement in the relationship between Cass and Aiden; she actually communicates with him more and they get closer. Cass spends less time angsting about her relationship with Aiden and more time worrying about her growing Firesoul abilities; her Firesoul abilities are not all roses and sunshine and is leading to places that are uncertain. Aiden is willing to help her walk that road and help figure things out, he’s a pretty supportive positive character and I like him.
What I do not like as much is that this book seems a bit slower and suffers from middle book syndrome. While our characters are doing lots of stuff its busy work, we get more bits and pieces about the monster but overall we haven’t really done much to get rid of the guy, it’s more like circling one another.
With that said I still enjoyed the story and will read the next book; it’s a good bit of entertainment.

This was a wonderful book in the series and so far my favorite one. I'm giving this book 5 strong Stars. This book could be read as a stand-alone as there is enough information in it so that you would not be lost if you read it by itself. Do yourself a favor and pick up the other books first. You will be so very happy that you did.
This book follows Cass and her sisters, along with Aiden, on a new adventure. There is a lot of action and this book will keep you reading until it's finished. You will not want to put it down. You will yell and scream and it'll feel like you're right in the midst of the story.
While taking a new artifact to the museum to get checked out by the doctor, all of a sudden chaos ensues when a portal opens that can't be closed. Follow along with the crew as they try to figure out this new mystery and a way to save their wonderful town. I absolutely love the relationship that is starting between Cass and Aiden. He's definitely in it for the long run I think. At least I hope so.
With all the action in this book I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Will the girls be able to figure out their past? Will they be able to answer so many of the questions that they have? Will they be able to survive all that is happening? Do yourself a big favor pick up this book and be prepared to not put it down until you've finished with it! Thank you Linsey Hall for your wonderful story and world. I love this series so much!
The books are short and straight to the point, no drama no boredom, just fun, adventures, excitement, tension, love, magic, dragons, a MONSTER! I mean what else you would love to see in a book!
Loved it. Loved that finally they got a date, or somewhat like that :D
I am sad and happy that this was not the final book. Sad because since Lord Voldemort no one scared me this much as the Monster, and HappY cause duh I am going to see this lick-ass girls and Aiden again, who by the way is just PERFECT, so perfect that it is UNFAIR!!!
What I loved about this book that she embraced her true self, that we saw a new side of her. That we saw a new things like dragonets. Linsey never repeats the events she adds something new and that is amazing, cause we do not get bored, and count the seconds to come back.
But also I love how she mentions the little points that show her personalities so well. Some authors would think that is meaningless, but those are actually the keys to a great storyline.
Loved it. Can't wait for the next book!!!!

This one was weird for me because even though the first part of the book was really exciting, I just didn't enjoy it that much until Cass went to look for the Nullifier. Once that happened all bets were off, and I raced through the rest of the book. It was that good.
I especially liked how Cass and Aidan finally got to go on a date, and it was so them!
The ending, omg, how can you do this to me Linsey? I mean, for serious. That made me wish I had the next one on hand now.

Engulfing
This is the third installment of the dragons gift series, it follows the lives of nix del and Cass, they are the huntress, the seeker and the protector, however they have a big secret.
They are firesouls the biggest feared supernatural going and if the alpha council find one then they lock them up indefinitely.
During this installment, magics bend Is starting to get sucked up by a magic portal and if the girls can't succeed In collapsing the portal they will no longer have a home, they have to meet a range of new People to reach thier end goal all whilst trying to conceal what they are and hide from the monster,
They are slowly closing in on the girls and the girls are starting to feel it
It's also nice to see that there is a romantic side to all this as you watch Aidan's and cass relationship blossom. Bless them they really can't catch a break to spend some time with each other one on one
My least favourite character is the monster what is so fascinating about Cass and her sisters I can't wait to find out
My favourite character is the nullifier as if he lived for that long and he is really heroic

If I had to say one negative thing about this series, it's that sometimes... things just happen out of the blue, right at the moment it suits the author, and it's done really, really obviously.
But other than that, I'm enjoying this series so much. I won't be reading the sequel series right after this, because I can pretty much guess that they'll be similar to this one - but I'm absolutely planning on reading them one day. Yeah, it's not perfect, there are probably plenty of things a critic could, well, criticize... but whatever. I love this!

This continues to be a fun romp. Unfortunately not as fun as the previous book. I was hoping we would learn more about “The Monster”. We learned his name and that he stole an artifact that grants immortality.

3.5 fun story line, great world and magic. The character development is where it falls short. There is so much potential here but it’s still a fun listen.

The secret that Cass is a FireSoul is slowly spreading, and she knows that she has to avoid the magic council at all costs. But that is put on hold as her home city is threatened with destruction, she has to embrace her powers and worry about the consequences later.

This is the third part of the Dragon's Gift series - I'm not sure how many books Hall has planned for it, but this one felt like it was building up towards the finale (the author has since informed me that she currently plans 5+ books for Cass, then a book each for Del & Nix).
The Monster features a lot more prominently in this book, as he clearly has a hand in trying to steal a certain artefact from the museum. You also get to see something of where he has been hiding; and there is quite the exciting chase through Switzerland.
It is clear he knows who Cass is now, whereas before he just thought he was chasing a random FireSoul. He wants to get her back, and you wonder whether it's a desire to prove he can't be beaten or escaped; or if he knows something about Cass' past that we can only guess at.
Cass and her friends have a limited time to stop the Monster from gaining a powerful relic; and to stop a spell from backfiring and taking out the city.
There is the same fun nature and humour in this book as the previous stories, but there's a undercurrent of a serious nature. The threats and dangers are much more real, as well as the implications of being a FireSoul. To not have control over this powerful thing, to feel the addictive pull, insisting that you should take more power.
As with the rest of the series, the plot is easy to follow and doesn't come with any shocking moments.
Stolen Magic is another (crazy) step into this imaginative world. I liked the creativeness, but I think it could be marmite for many readers - they will love it or hate it. There is a lot of time spent on a separate plateau that felt a lot like falling down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland.
The scenes are odd, out-of-place, and designed to test the characters both physically and mentally.
I wasn't entirely convinced at how they managed to get into and out of certain situations, but I still enjoyed the ride.

In the third installment to the series Cass is learning to control and even enjoy her powers and yet she is still frightened by what she could become should she be unable to control her FireSoul. We finally learn a little more about the Monster and find that not everything is as it appears. And get a hint that the relationship, for lack of a better word, between Cass and the Monster is a little more complicated than him only wanting her because she is a FireSoul.
To be honest, this book dragged a little for me and I’m not sure if it was the book or me, but regardless of that issue, I still really enjoyed it. There was a lot of crazy going on and Cass and company barely escaped a few times. I’m really liking that we are spending more time with Cass and her deirfur’s and getting to see how close they are and at the same time how different they are from one another. Aiden and Cass’s relationship is evolving at a good pace for me, especially considering what they are dealing with. But I’m really enjoying how Cass herself is evolving. I love that she’s confident in who she is and is working on utilizing her powers more, and yet is still cautious, especially those linked to her FireSoul. That caution keeps her from being arrogant and putting herself in an untenable situation.

by this point, i only read books like this to train my reading speed and my typing speed ehe :)
recap:
nix and cass were chilling in their shop when they saw demons. they thought they were going to be robbed but they went to P&P so they followed them. turned out, the demons were looking for firesouls. they killed them easily. then, Cass got a message from dr. garriso telling her he found out something about the chalice of youth. on her way there, she met Aidan and together they went to the museum. when dr. garriso was about to tell them the chalice's other power, the museum was under attack. the assailants had a portal to stay open. they easily got rid of them but stupid dr garriso tried to save a vase and got sucked into the portal too -.- idiot cass tried ro save him but fortunately, the portal wouldn't let her passed through.
Aidan bribed a museum's guard so he would tell them when the investigator came then they returned back to P&P. Cass asked Connor to make her an invisible charm that could work for an hour and then after Aidan got the call, they got back to the museum (their life is super uneffective). using the invisibility potion, they eavesdropped what the investigator said (something like they need a trasporter, that the portal was weakening while Cass felt it strengthening, and that it was a weird portal), and then their time was up (no way it was one hour already) so they created a little havoc and then ran away. they must've thought that other characters besides them were really stupid.
they called for del, asked her to meet them so they can go to wherever the portal was supposed to take and turned out, wherever it was, the place was not on earth. they arrived to a place like antartica, then to the colloseum, to some club, then finally found Dr. Garisso but Cass was trapped alone in an illusion of her old prison. she met the illusionist, fought a little and she killed him, stole his power, and her sisters found her again. so they embarked on a journey to return to the portal and when they arrived to the museum, they found that everyone was frozen with terror on their face.
they hurriedly teleported to the nearest hospital, handed dr. garisso to be taken care of and then Cass fainted because she lost lots of blood and woke up on Aidan's bed (with aidan on the chair, decent man). but she was still tired so they slept again (this time not so decent) and cass had another dream of memory from her past. it was when they escaped the prison (which was on the master monster's mansion) and they saw him killing one of the prison's guard and then they ran away to find themselves in a middle of a desert.
she woke up, told her sisters what happened then met the dr. he said that the chalice could grant the greatest evil immortality. they stupidly left it in the museum (knew it), and now, because of the portal, the museum was about to be turned into waypoint (i.e they were stealing the museum). even worse, if the museum was sucked, it would leave a magical void, a vacuum that would suck the town. the authorities told the town to be evacuated and Aidan had a spell caster that he hoped might help with the aid from an amplifier. so Cass told nix and del to help connor and claire fetched dr garisso while she, with her mirror magic to amplify, would help aidan. at first, it seemed to work, but turned out, they only made the portal larger. apparently, there was an enchantment pool that provided the portal its power and they had to disable it.
unfortunately, Aidan lost the rare spell stripper (sounds like a bad stripper club) and they had to find a nullifier to disable the pool. Mordoca's sister said she new a guy who lived near where they lived who was friend with nullifier. so they visited him, told them that nullifier were hard to find because they were immortal, and they would nullify their power too. also, his friend was in the Alps. it was not an easy journey finding him. they entered an enchanted forest that told them to turned back, got attacked by root dwarves, and got attacked by dragonets made of fire, water, stone, and smoke. it was only thanks to Cass' dragon's soul that they stopped attacking and then the nullifier found them and trapped them inside a hole until Cass asked for the dragonets help. when the nullifier finally agree to talk, they were attacked by the monster master and barely escaped using the transport charm to Aidan's house in Ireland with the nullifier fainted because he was hit by the sonic boom.
after 8 hours of sleeping (and some date and wohoo between Aidan and Cass), the nullifier woke up. he said that he knew the monster master, he used to be hunted by him (his name was Victor sth) because he wanted to get rid of his power, but after he got nullified when fighting with the nullifier, he decided that he hated it and became power hungry instead. so they returned to the museum and entered the portal. like before, they returned to the ever-changing desert, then fell from a cliff but Cass managed to transform into a griffin and helped Aidan saving everyone. they continued walking when the scene suddenly changed into a bazaar and met a tracker demon where they kidnapped and jailed the sisters. Cass tried to fight the demon but he overpowered her and she fainted.
she had another dream about when she was 15 and jailed. but this time, she was summoned and Victor tried to take something away from here but he failed and it made her felt like she was losing her soul/part of her magic. then she woke up to find Del in phantom form and Nix who already conjured a key to let them out. they fought some demons, met with victor, del transported them to the bazaar again, meet Aidan, and victor caught up.
another battle, then the nullifier was hit by two sonic boom and he almost died so cass took him to the pool but he told her to take his power so she did and he died. taking his power dampened/destroyed her own other magic but cass did what she had to, nullifying the pool. after that, del teleported them back to the museum. while Aidan was taking care of the talking, the sisters went to Aidan's house.
nix and del comforted cass when she was mopping her lost power but they reassured her it would be fine, she might get her power back and won't be immortal (cliche, i know she would). aidan, the too perfect boyfriend bought her loads of ice cream, told her that victor managed to get the chalice of youth, and he summoned Aethelred so cass could talk to him about her past.

Cass can't seem to keep out of trouble. With the Monster hot on her heels she finds her shelf not only fearing for her life, but losing herself in her dragon powers. When all hell breaks loose Cass has to confront her darkness or lose her friends forever.
Once again Hall does a great job getting us invested in our main character, Cass, and her friends. This time Cass has to face a old enemy as well as herself. What is unique about each of Hall's characters is that she doesn't make the perfect. They have their strengths and weaknesses as well as those parts of them that they don't want to admit exists, which makes them so easy to relate to.
The only part that I was disappointed in is that int he last two books Hall gave us some steamy scenes with Cass and Aiden, but when they finally got alone time together we got a next morning kind of scene. It might be my personal biased but I felt like she could have given us more in that aspect.
I loved the little elemental dragons and thought it was an awesome addition to the team. The Monster is creepy and fear inducing as he should be. And Aiden? Well Aiden is sexy as all get out with those little sweet part mixed in to just make you love him more.
So a four and a half bunnies this time!

I couldn't imagine losing 15 years of my memory and then very slowly getting it back. That, to me, would be torture in itself. Aiden, Cass, Nix, and Del make one heck of a team when they work together. Now on a mission to save the world the sisters find themselves piecing together not only their past but possibly the reason what the Monster is up to. Aiden and Cass start getting closer to each other and opening up to each other more. Linsey Hall has caught me in her web of words and hasn't let go yet. I can't wait for more in this series.

Just fabulous
This is one of the most interesting series I have ever read. I love everything about it. If I had anything about it I would change it would be the very tame sex scenes. However, this series would be excellent for teenage readers as well as adults since so far there is nothing graphic in the intimate scenes. It is a great PNR book.

Intense. This book was very intense. You learn a bit more about Cass but still so much more there to find out. At times the action is so intense I had to put the book down because I couldn't bear to see if something bad happened to Cass. Like Aiden I think I'm in love.

The way they're constantly referring to him as "The Monster" really is getting cringy at this point. I was hoping that the complexity of the story would be more than what it is at this point. Hope that it will change.

so I read the first 2 books in the series.. and I couldn't really get into them. I wanted to. The premise was good just the characters had no depth.. it was like here's a girl she has some major secrets. Here's a boy he's all-powerful and dangerous. They're now in love. Nothing in between.

I was pretty surprised with this book! The storyline took a different turn and I was just about to leave if it was the same as the last two but with a different villain...but it wasn't! It also included a touch more of Nix and Del's characters which made the story more engaging since we know they are a very very close team (in the last books they were barely there and more of sidekicks imo). Also, how the characters took things a bit more seriously and together which made the fact that all this happened so so so fast a bit understandable. I was surprised at Aiden and Cass when he was upset at her for not using her power wisely and rightly so! It was great that she didn't feel in the dumps for some guy and actually pursued to making herself better - that's what made this book very enjoyable. Woohoo character development!
The issues I have with this book are the same as Linsey's last two but they aren't as prominent. We already know about Aiden's, Dr. Garriso's, Del's and Nix's powers/talents but even in the end of the book we get a small review on them for no reason - the same goes for a lot of the other characters. Cliché phrases and words are used multiple times and sometimes just on the next page (hence repetition) which really bother me.
The missed detail I wondered about was that Cass told Del and Nix about her newest power but not the shifter one from the last book? Isn't that important too? Since that's where her hunger started to become more...."hunger" than the lightning one from Aaron in the last book.
Loose examples (I can't find all the sentences)
Repetition/details: "Claire, a mercenary as well as a part-time coffee shop owner, had dragged a sword from beneath the counter"
-we already know the " a mercenary as well as a part-time coffee shop owner" from the past two books, I don't understand how these small phrases come back in over and over again in the book. It especially goes for locations like Magic's bend, Darklane, etc. This book could EASILY become 10+ pages shorter without these extra details throughout the book.
Cliche phrases: "...eyes turned hard" "Del's eyes turned serious"
-those two phrases for eyes are used A LOT in this book.
When Del shifts the term for her back into her human form is "corporeal" it's great but after used every time it gets buggy.
As for the end of the book I'll just read the next one to figure it out :)

Hmmmm... I can't say there was anything wrong with this one. In essence it had everything going for it. Strong interesting heroine. Action packed story full of intriguing characters and suspense. And the hunky hero. I guess that is the problem with it. I kept searching for that WOW factor that makes it catch one by the imagination and not want to let go. And unfortunately it never did for me. I realize there a heck ton of books attached to this series and I was tittering on the edge of will they or won't they for a while there, and not in a good way.
Because they have so many books I was worried they were gonna keep the main villain the same for all the three sisters so they can defeat him together after 15 books and each of their individual stories - which would have been way too much. So I was relieved when the main badie in this book was defeated and then the next series gets their own set of villains.
But other than than I never felt like there was any particular life to these characters. They were a trio of girls that bonded and never had any issues whatsoever in their own sisterhood except one of them sometimes possibly dying but I guess that's the world they live in... And the whole idea that the main character h ONLY liked eating pasties and drinking PBR beer and nothing else in this whole wide world. Like nothing else existed in the world for her and that said more about her intricacies as a character more than anything. I did not feel any real blood was pumping though these characters, almost like they were just puppets on a string a story book acting out their part and that's it. Without saying too much about the ending, I’ll just say that this book breaks the usual urban fantasy formula by having some honest-to-god consequences that feel meaningful and harsh, and that affect the ongoing story. I’ll be a little put out if the rest of the series undoes them too quickly, but I’m optimistic. This is a good series, after all.
The world-building is worked in well. I wouldn’t start at this installment, and it’s easy to find the first two books so you don’t have to, but if it’s been a little while since you read book two (or your memory is as bad as mine is) it’ll be fine. We’re starting to get a bit of a better idea of why FireSouls are so feared and hated–not only do they have the capacity to absorb a dying person’s powers, but they become addicted to the feeling and corrupted by the ever-growing hunger for power. Cass is having to struggle with her own desire to slurp up the powers of the nearby not-quite-dead-yet, and it’s nice to see a reasonable depiction of this. I.e., sure she wants to keep from becoming power-mad, but at least she also recognizes that in the arms race to avoid and beat the Monster, having extra powers can only help. Too many stories focus on the moral dilemma while ignoring the practical one, so I was grateful to see Hall’s take on it.
I love the fact that Aidan clearly respects Cass. Particularly in this day and age, that’s sexy as hell. Honestly, I like it even more than the fact that he’s sexy, powerful, and wealthy when considering whether I’d like to see them end up together. Which obviously they will, but I like that it’s a relationship I can buy into and not feel guilty about. Meanwhile, Cass is a delightfully kick-ass protagonist. She needs others’ help–she isn’t a Mary Sue–but she can fight both physically and with magic, she’s very brave, and she thinks fast on her feet. Delightful!
I’m definitely enjoying this series, and look forward to volumes four and five!

The world-building is worked in well. I wouldn’t start at this installment, and it’s easy to find the first two books so you don’t have to, but if it’s been a little while since you read book two (or your memory is as bad as mine is) it’ll be fine. We’re starting to get a bit of a better idea of why FireSouls are so feared and hated–not only do they have the capacity to absorb a dying person’s powers, but they become addicted to the feeling and corrupted by the ever-growing hunger for power. Funny side fact, there is another series about a person who can steal or borrow other people's power. And the first book in that series also was called Stolen Magic.
The third book continues the story about the threat of the Monster. In his effort to steal another artifact, he makes a portal in the magical museum that threatens to suck the entire town of Magic Bend in, if it finishes its job and closes. The sisters and Aidan must find a way to prevent that while staying away from the council for fear of them finding out that they are FireSouls.
As the story progresses, Cass remembers more about her past and also meets a seer who hints that he knows more about the amulet she is wearing around her neck (cue cliffhanger to next book). In the last book she had a vision showing that mirror magic is not her root power. The story of the amulet should reveal what her root power was.
Is it just me or are these books getting more fight intensive. There are only so many times I want to read about Smoke or Fire Demons suddenly popping in and then Aidan transforming into a Griffin, she nicking her fingers to retrieve Lefty or Righty and Del becoming in-/corporeal to chop a demons head off.
Other than that, the story was fun to read as usual, I love the dragonets and the waypoint shifting scenarios on them was also kind of interesting. Though is was a little overused.
But overall another good entry in the series.

Good
Cass and her friends are on the path of a monster... he has managed to create a portal that is threatening their town, AND he is responsible for all kinds of bad deed- including ones that affected them.
Before they can get him though, they need to deal with the portal, and THAT might just be impossible!
Book three of the series has Cass continuing to remember the past through her dreams. The monster who hurt her and her friends makes another appearance, and this time we manage to find out a little more about him.
Cass and Aiden make strides in their relationship, and she comes to terms with what she is and what she can do.
This was an enjoyable read, and this particular book is probably a pivotal moment in the series, simply because of all that it reveals.
Linsey Hall’s world is richly imagined, the abilities of the magical beings in it are interesting, and the storylines are action packed.
This makes for an enjoyable few hours reading, in an urban or modern fantasy setting, with a head nod to classical mythology and traditional fantasy ideas.
Recommended for those who enjoy an action packed romp through magical worlds, and imperfect people trying to get the bad guy!

Dragons 🥰, magic and shifting
Stolen Magic is book three in Linsey Hall’s Dragon’s Gift: The Huntress series. This book continues on from Mirror Mage ends.
Cass, Aidan, Del and and Nix have once again managed to get themselves in danger with the monster lurking around trying to capture the girls. In this book Cass is able to recover more of her memories through nightmares but they are definitely nightmares and not something she wants to remember when she was younger and was being held captive along with her deirfiúr. With Cass finally excepting her FireSoul powers she is growing stronger and more confident with the continual help from Aidan the Origin.
When Dr Garriso and the museum are sucked in a portal along with the Chalice Cass and Aidan must do everything they can to retrieve them as Magic Bend is at risk of being destroyed, but trying to keep hidden from the Order of the Magica is going to be hard with them investing the portal.
I read this book in one sitting, it was addictive and action packed. I was on the edge of my seat anxiously turning each page wanting to know what was going to happen next.
