One demon prince may be festering in the bowels of hell, but Genevieve’s troubles are far from over. Prince Bamal, demon lord of New York City, still wants her. But this time, he wants her alive. All signs point to the lost prophecy and his desire for her inherent power as a Vessel of Light.

While Jude Delacroix spends his days and nights searching for the prophecy, another protector steps in to take his place. Thomas, a guardian angel, claims Genevieve is his to protect if the demon hunter does not. As threats against her life escalate, he offers her the power to sift. Knowing the transfer of power comes through a kiss, she hesitates. While Gen’s love for Jude is true, Thomas stirs a desire where there should be none. Thomas also knows Jude’s darkest secret and plans to use it, if necessary, to win Genevieve for his own.

Sealed in Sin is book two of The Vessel Trilogy by Juliette Cross.

“Warning: Contains a demon hunter with dark secrets, a sexy angel with ulterior motives, and demonic creatures running amok.”

Is it unusual to love a book so much that you frequently have to remind yourself that ‘this isn’t real, Carol?’ I think this might be my favorite book so far by Juliette Cross. Or do I think that at the end of each one?

White Hawk – Digital Painting by Clayton Kashuba

Genevieve is a vessel. Her power can either be used for the light or controlled by the darkness. She has not fully awakened yet, has not yet become aware of all of the powers she will possess. Genevieve is also the vessel of the prophecy. The prophecy that says there is a war coming between the angels of heaven and the demons of hell. And that she will have to battle the vessel controlled by the demon Prince Bamal to the death.

“Not one has been born strong enough to resist the bewitching lure of the Dark, to bond with her power and become the infinite source of might for the Flamma of Light. Until now…”

Someone new enters Gen’s life, her guardian angel, Thomas. Generally guardian angels do not show themselves on earth to those they protect. So why has Thomas suddenly revealed himself to Gen? Are his motives pure?

“I was beginning to believe Thomas had designs of his own—not sinister ones, but sensual ones.”

Gen is in constant danger. Prince Bamal wants her so he can control her vessel power. Jude is doing all he can to protect her but at the same time he is trying to locate the lost half of the prophecy which contains crucial information regarding the pending war and Gen’s role in it. Thomas wants to give Gen a new power, one only he can share with her. This power would help her to be able to protect herself. But the only way to transfer the power is with a kiss. Whenever she is near Thomas, she feels a pull, some sort of a deep attraction she cannot explain. Can she risk accepting Thomas’s gift?

Celtic Blue Titanium Wedding Band | ApplesofGold.com

“I wanted Jude, not Thomas. No matter what my subconscious might be trying to tell me, Jude was the man of my heart.”
“I might be his moon in the dark, but he was my entire cosmos—stars, air and gravity all rolled into one.”

against the wall

This book…just WOW! As Gen, Jude and the others search for the prophecy, try to hunt demons, and stay safe, their travels take them from New Orleans, to Scotland, to France and to London. The love between Gen and Jude is growing, their bond strengthening. But with Thomas in the picture, and all they are forced to deal with, is it strong enough?

Eiffel Tower

There are secrets revealed in this book, secrets regarding Gen’s mother, and secrets of Jude’s past, of a darkness he keeps hidden. But there are other secrets lurking. What really happened to Kat when she was being held captive? What does Thomas really want?

Irish Cottage

Juliette Cross’s books are so poetic. Her words are just all so beautiful. She has such a wonderful way of weaving a story that I fall so deeply into it, it pretty much takes over my existence, even when I’m not reading. All her characters are so real, so easy to connect with, to care for. There is a cliff hanger, don’t say I didn’t warn you. But the next book, Bound in Black, is ready and waiting for you. So my advice is to get started, and read this series, no, I take that back. Read ALL of Juliette’s books. Every single one of them is special in its own way. I wonder which one will be YOUR favorite?

“She holds our hope. The tide that will help us win the war.”

5 - "You’re mine now..." Stars!

This is a dual review for the second and third books in The Vessel Trilogy; Sealed in Sin & Bound in Black. I decided to do it this way, because basically both books are equally awesome, and I can say very little about them for fear of giving away major spoilers.

The best part though, is that all three are now LIVE!

Jude and Gen’s story is unlike any other that I have read in the Paranormal or Fantasy genre, if you like Angels, Demons, the good, the bad, ones you thought were good but are bad and ones that started out bad but then become good, then this is the story for you.

Juliette kept me on my toes with this series right up to the last couple of chapters, she also kept me up well past my bedtime with both books two and three because I just didn’t want to stop the ride she had taken me on.

"You know the more you learn about our world… the more you’ll come to understand that everyone-light or dark- has their own agenda foremost in mind."

If you are looking for something a little different to read, that will make you think, take you out of this world and put you in another, with a unique story-line, a great cast of unusual and interesting characters, a Hero and Heroine that together were hot, when apart heart-breaking and everything for all of the in-between addicting, then this series if one you need to be checking out.

"Don’t step too far into the shadows with me…"

"How else am I to get close to you."

I only discovered this authors writing recently, and have literally devoured each and every book I have read by her since. There are few authors that jump straight onto my auto-buy list nowadays, but Juliette Cross is 100% on it, and most likely to never leave it if she continues to produce books and series of this exemplary calibre.

"You’ve always been my moon in the darkness…"

"And you’re my guiding star."

Sealed in Sin was fabulous!!!! Juliette cross is a hell of a storyteller! This is book 2 in Juliette cross The Vessel series! In book 2 Genevieve is learning what it means to be a vessel with the help of our brooding and sexy demon hunter Jude. Jude is falling for Gen and is barely keeping his passion and wanting her under control and the more time they spend together the worst its getting. Genevieve and Kat decide to shake things up with some demons and end up getting into more then they can handle and if that isn't enough Gen is about to meet Thomas who is supposedly her guardian angel. He's beautiful and seems sincere and he did rescue her from a demon king and his minions and he did gift her with the ability to shift but he's also poisoning her against Jude by showing her his dark past and he wants her for his own. Using seduction and caring to lure her in..... I don't trust angel boy! Theirs something just off about him.Dommiel is back! I love this demon!!!! He's not a dick like Gorham or Bamal their just plain evil! Beautiful but evil! Also we found out a little more about Kat! Seems this demon hunter was on team evil when held captive by demon king Damas and is known to other demons only as Domina which stands for mistress! Go! Kat! bring those demon boys to their knee's! I adore a strong bad ass female's and like Gen, I want to be Kat too someday! Theirs action and a couple of WTF just happened moments and revelations for our girl Gen and some really hot sex with the sexy dark jude!!! Can't wait to read the next book in this fabulous series!!! Until next time Luv's💕💋

With one demon prince down and out of the picture, Genevieve must now deal with Prince Bamal. Bigger, badder and more powerful than Dante, the demon lord of New York City wants Genevieve, her powers as the Vessel of Light and to defeat the prophecy she is part of, controlling her with his darkness.

While Jude has gone off in search of the missing prophecy, Gen will come face to face with her guardian angel, a being who has watched over her, her entire life. But is Thomas looking for more from Genevieve than she can give? Is he as pure as one would think a guardian angel would be? He can give Gen more power, but at what true price? What is Thomas stirring within Genevieve’s heart and soul? Are his intentions pure or are they SEALED IN SIN?

Juliette Cross will sift us through London, New Orleans, Paris and even to Scotland where a private hideaway could become the only haven Gen and Jude may find. This time out emotions are at the boiling point across the board as hearts are laid bare, doubts and insecurities creep in and every minute brings darkness just a little closer to becoming the reality of the world.

Time for Gen to believe fully in herself and those around her, but will she choose to trust in the wrong people? Perhaps it is better to go with her heart, her soul and her gut because they may need to be her closest allies when the unthinkable happens.

Do you ever wonder what an author is thinking as they begin piling more and more on their heroine? Pretty sure Juliette Cross was testing someone’s limits, not sure if it was Genevieve’s or mine! Talk about gut-clenching chaos and yet, I have faith that Gen will survive! As for me, it was close, I had the grip of death on my Kindle, but I made through, dangling by clenched fingers!

I absolutely love this series, these characters and Juliette Cross’ style, it’s like she “gets” what I want to read!

I really enjoyed book one of this trilogy but I absolutely LOVED this one! I was taken on a wild adventure ride that covered every emotion possible.

While Gen is growing into her position as a Vessel, there are always dark forces working against her and the other Flamma of Light. I struggled with her response to Thomas but held out hope for her relationship with Jude. Of course, I shouldn’t have worried. This book definitely picks up the pace where Jude and Gen are concerned and I loved every moment of it.

As they continue to search for the missing piece of the prophecy, we are pulled deeper into the darkness that threatens to destroy humankind. I was on the very edge of my seat, nail biting in full force, as Gen makes decisions that may or may night be the right ones. I never really knew what the repercussions of such decisions would be. By the time I reached the ending I was a sobbing mess, needing resolution and yet knowing I wouldn’t get it until I dove into book 3. Which is exactly where I intend to go right now.

Why did I wait so long to read this series??? Totally rectifying that mistake…

In the second installment of the Vessel Trilogy we have a superb continuation of this trilogy and seeing our couple Jude and Genevieve come back to each other in this marvelous novel. I was curious to see where this author would take us in this one, and I knew with it being the second book in the trilogy that there would be such angst of course but also some build up plot points for the overall trilogy. Our heroine is training in fighting demons and building up her powers and abilities, but we also see how she and Jude are struggling as a couple. They are both working apart from each other, and its causing tension in their relationship. But then we get a newcomer on the series, a man that claims to be her guardian angel “Thomas” who is pulling her in a different direction. There are aspects of a love triangle in this story and I was so nervous about this when I read the blurb because I so didn’t want a love triangle to enter into the story but it ended up working out so well, much better than I actually imagined. Even though I couldn’t understand what the heroine was doing at times, it also had a sense of realism to the story. But we also seeing a culmination build up between these characters and we see how Genevieve has to really be tested in her love for Jude. But man the ending, just won my heart!! I love a heroine that is willing to fight for her man and do some well deserved groveling. I actually fell in love with this book and there were many aspects within the story that worked out so well for me. I was so entranced by this one and seeing what it delivered in many respects. Just apart from the romance, we also see a solid fantasy build up in this book, seeing the growth of Genevieve’s abilities and seeing more demon action was a delight. I am intrigued to see what the finale will deliver for us. If you are a fan of fantasy romance, and/or this author in general and want to delve into more of her work, I highly recommend this trilogy, you won’t be disappointed. A star of a read that swept me up to the stars!

*Thank you to the author for an ARC of this re-release. Also, I am friends with the author.*

Ahhhhhhh!!! My feels!!!

What a great middle book in this trilogy. It does not fall into middle book syndrome in my opinion. Sealed in Sin keeps things moving forward. Revealing twists and putting the Jude & Gen through the wringer. I couldn't put this one down.

I was swooning and flipping pages like crazy. A lot of my favorite parts are spoilers but I will say... I thought a certain work around to the rules of the Vessel "purity" were very clever. I had a hunch and I was very happy when it played out.

I am genuinely excited to read book 3. I know Genevieve has quite a journey to go on after the ending of this book. I know I will be rewarded when I finally dive in.

Jude Fierce
Jude Strong
Jude Unwavering
Jude Beautiful
Il est toujours aussi puissant et vaillant, mais si tendre et dour.
He is ever so powerful and valient, yet so tender and gentle.

Sealed in Sin not only saw Genevieve growing stronger in her powers and continuing with her training, but it had me anticipating at every turn as to what was going to happen with Gen, Jude, George and Kat. The journey they were on to find the other half of the prophecy, had them traipsing all over the world battling demons and angels too, or just one in particular…Thomas, ugh!
It also had me feeling breathless at how much Jude would stop at nothing and to sacrifice everything for his mon cœur; and wanting, for all the love and the burning passion between them. It was indeed a beautiful thing to witness. Like the words unfolding into a scene being played right out in front of you. Breathtaking.

However, my heart is broken and I can't even believe that ending. I knew that no-good so called angel, Thomas was up to something evil. The entire last chapter of the book had me screaming at Gen to not trust the mother fudger. I was about to throw my kindle in rage. That cliffhanger and epilogue is the death of me and I've loaded the final book in the Vessel Trilogy so I can dive right in and find out how it all comes together and ends.
Will Genevieve continue to soar towards the light, or will she fall into the hole of despair?
Will Jude remember and fight for who he is and the love he has for Gen, or will he be lost to the darkness, forever?
I don't know, but I'm dying to find out. Onto the final book.

I just realized that this series is the Dominion Series beginnings. How I didn't realize that until half way through this second book, I have no idea. My only excuse is that it's been a bit since I read that series and I thought this author just decided to do two series with the same arch angel, Uriel. Uriel was my favorite character in the other series so he left an impression. Anyway, I started to realize I recognized these names and I can't be more excited about this. I loved the Dominion series and now I'm even more ramped up to see how this trilogy leads us to it.

After finishing the first book, I thought "ok, now things are going to ramp up" and it did, but boy after how this second book ended, that escalation will be nothing on the third book. I admittedly don't remember what was said about Genevieve and Jude's story in the Dominion series and I'm glad for that because I really like that I don't know what to expect in the next book and I'm excited to see what Genevieve does after how this ended.

I can't really say too much more without spoilers but you do want to read book one first or you will be lost. Then after finishing this series, you definitely want to continue onto the spinoff series. I'm noticing the excitement gets ramped up with each book.

Wonderfully ingenious, Juliette Cross weaves a majestic spell that sucks you deep into The Vessel Trilogy world.

Genevieve’s powers as the vessel are growing but she hasn’t fully awakened, leaving her vulnerable to possession by evil.

While Jude is searching for the prophecy, a “guardian angel” named Thomas has made himself known to Gen. There is something connecting Thomas and Genevieve.

Thomas offers Gen the ability she covets but at what cost will the power transfer come?

This whirlwind adventure had me laughing, crying and yelling no, no, no, you can’t do that. To put it plainly, Cross has a way of capturing her readers and keeping them hostage to the characters every plight. Beautifully vivid writing only enhances that connection to the characters.

Amazing revelations, heartfelt emotions and the mother of all cliffhangers will have me biting my nails for the final installment in The Vessel Trilogy.

I received this ARC copy of Sealed in Sin from Juliette Cross in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication April 21, 2015.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

I was curious to read this second novel after having a good time with the first one. I must say that it is quite in line with the previous one. So yes, still a good time with that same volume even if a little something is missing for me again.

The latest Genevieve’s adventure had resulted with the death of the demon prince who wanted to keep her with him. Some respite you might say after so many worries? But no, this is not the case, and our heroine has to do more complicated things this time. Indeed, the demon prince who wanted her dead, now wants to capture her and nothing seems to stand in his way. In addition to this, we also have the appearance of a new character: Thomas. Ah Thomas… what a difficult character to pin down. We understand the appeal for this guardian angel. He challenges the Gen’s feelings for Jude while they are yet sincere. He offers her things that he only can provide her and it is true that the whole is very tempting. Then it must be said that with such a description, we can only be intrigued. Yet it’s also pretty amazing to see that the young woman manages to trust him so quickly, although we understand that a new ally would not be refused. From this, you can imagine that the story will run for a party on the Genevieve’s feelings and what she really wants. This is also what allows her to understand exactly what she wants. Added to this, the abstinence problem becomes more present in this volume, a point that is recurrent in fact.

The second part of the story focuses primarily on the research of the prophecy but also the desire of the demons. I admit that I was really curious to find out more about the second half of this lost prophecy. Through this, we also learn more about all the characters, their past, their secrets and what they haveendured. It was interesting to be able to understand some with that.

It was an interesting story and Gen evolves much in this story. She realizes what she really wants, she tries to lead her own battles, but her powers are evolving exponentially. I’m curious to see where all this will lead her especially after such a purpose!

Review courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy.

SEALED IN SIN is really a great urban fantasy. It's got it all, action, romance and plot twists, with some creative mythology included. Though SEALED IN SIN plays off of a lot of typical urban fantasy tropes - the girl who doesn't know she's special all of a sudden developing powers, the dark and mysterious protector guy, the possible love triangle- Cross really manages to take them and spin them her own way.

SEALED IN SIN introduces the reader to more of Cross's world full of angels and demons, and learning more about the demon hunters and how they come to be is very interesting. Plus, we get more background on the various characters and their stories are all fascinating, even more interesting than Gen's, in my opinion. She actually tends to be the most boring character in my opinion, not that she isn't well written, but that her inclusion in this world is solely by virtue of magically inheriting powers, as opposed to having a rich backstory that may or may not include various traumas.

The pacing was very well done, with action and romance equally sharing page time, and with the constant secrets and betrayals, my attention was held from start to finish. However, my one complaint is that the book ended on a massive cliff-hanger, which I generally dislike, even if I'm already clicking "Preorder" before I've digitally flipped the final page. Luckily, I don't have too long to wait, since BOUND IN BLACK, the final book in the trilogy, comes out in July.

I think I just had a major panic attack as I reached the last page of Sealed by Sin by Juliette Cross. Genevieve and Jude consumed me and I was completely lost in this supernatural world of demons, angels, hunters and so much more. Fast paced. Addictive. Fiery passion. The Vessel trilogy is becoming one of my most favourite fantasy romance series.

This is book 2 of the trilogy. Genevieve is just coming at terms with the fact that she is a vessel who can either hold light or dark. And she is a key weapon in the impending massive war between the angels and the demons. She is getting trained as a demon hunter and her power is going exponentially stronger every day. Her protector and soul mate Jude Delacroix has promised to protect her. But so many factors are into play. Including the sudden appearance of her guardian angel Thomas who has own agenda. Will Genevieve have to pay the ultimate price and lose Jude?

Jude is an epic hero. He is everything I love in my heroes. Alpha. Protective. Possessive. An aura of power, greatness and dominance. He is like a powerhouse in his world. But nothing is more powerful than his love and devotion for Genevieve. And that's insanely sexy. Genevieve is a strong and fierce character. What made her even more beautiful is her real struggles. She may have supernatural strength but she is still an young woman who has been thrown into this new world and she is struggling with the new powers and her emotions are all over the place. Jude is her source of solace and peace and support but things are complicated. It was just amazing how this story managed to be equally romantic and suspenseful. This story is more steamy than book one. It was super sinful. And then there were all the moving chess pieces. Twists after twists and I was on my toes. And then that last twist killed me! Jude and Genevieve managed to make me swoon and cry and break. Love for fictional characters in finest form.

Oh No!!! I need book three... that ending... I'm a little sad and anxious now...
Gosh... I liked book one but I LOVED book two... :)
Genevieve's character is maturing and evolving and she is growing more powerful every day. The race to keep her from being captured and possessed by the demons is tense and a full time job. Jude, her primary protector is such an intriguing character. I really like him. The tension filled connection between Gen and Jude is getting harder for them to resist. More specifically, sexual tension!
Jude oozes sex appeal but he's also very dark and dangerous. But, when it comes to the woman he loves, he is protective, patient, careful and honorable. I love how their connection to each other evolved into something very deep and emotional. His careful touch with her was surprisingly sweet. I love it when tough guys aren't afraid to show their tender side.
We have a surprise character jump in in this second book... Thomas... an angel who has his heart set on Genevieve. His character was and still is a mystery. What is he up too? His angelic aura is hard for Gen to resist.
And then there is Gen's Demon Hunter friend Kat... I adore her character... this description of her from the mind of Gen made me smile... it's perfect!

In a skintight black leather cat-suit, a silver zipper cinching her from pelvis to chest, knee-high boots that said I'll-kick-your-ass-into-tomorrow, her silken platinum hair swinging in tandem to her walk, she looked lethal and utterly stunning. I smiled. I wanted to be Kat when I grew up.

LOL... yep... so do I! She is fierce... and, a great friend to have at your side when you're being stalked by demons.
And, I must have more of Alexander, a fellow demon hunter who made his first appearance in this book. He was such an adorable flirt... he and Kat would make an interesting pair. But, somehow I think her friend George might object to that. I am curious about their story as well.

So, this series slowly hooked me in with book one but now I'm completely and totally hooked and anxiously waiting for the next installment. An edgy, engaging and emotional story with lots of interesting and intriguing characters that I can't wait to get to know better.

4 Stars - 3 Flames

Where to begin???!!!! My mind is so completely blown right now that I'm having a VERY hard time trying to form the words to express my love for this installment. And how the hell (LOL) am I supposed to do that without spoilers?!!!!!!!

This installment picks up about 2 months after the ending of the first Vessel. Gen is becoming stronger with her VS and has been successful in defending herself from the lower demons Kat and Jude have been using/baiting as training. But Kat thinks it's time for Gen to expand her powers and takes her to NY for some training without Jude's knowledge. Better to ask forgiveness than permission, right? LOL

While in NY, Gen finds herself sifting with not one, but two different Flamma within minutes. At least the second Flamma doesn't spike her VS to the dark side. But this Flamma isn't the normal higher demon, nope, he's the opposite. He's an angel. So why the heck is he following Gen around and saving her? Not spoiling THAT piece of information. Nah uh. But what I WILL say about their little encounter is that it will literally change EVERYTHING between Gen and Jude.

Speaking of the hottest demon hunter and sinfully loving man, Jude keeps pulling me in to his spell. This man! Sigh. Another non-spoiler/spoiler...We learn some more about Jude's past. We even learn of some things that he's kept from Gen. But do we really care? I mean...it's Jude. Ok. They are "kind of" bad, but..eh. Not really THAT bad. I swear that man can do no wrong in my eyes.

Anyway...the end of the world is getting closer and closer and the "final" battle between good and bad seems right around the corner. The major issue is that the bad seem to have the missing piece to the prophecy and no one on the good side seems to know where to find it. Everyone can sense that time is running out and things are getting pretty desperate...on both sides.

Ok, a "little" spoiler here...CLIFF. HANGER. ALERT!!! Yep. Major cliffhanger. One that literally has me dying right now because it's so big. In fact, it's not even ONE cliffhanger...You're dying aren't you? Yep, I've got to go read the next one....sifting...

*I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love this series! Book two has some new characters which was an interesting twist. I've decided that Thomas is a creepy stalker and do not like him. At all. I would very much like Jude to meet him and possibly punch him...preferably in the face or maybe the crotch. I was kinda hoping to read the rest of the prophesy but I guess we will have to wait for the next book! Speaking of 'waiting'... they finally did it! Yes the 'it' is sex people, and if you read the first book you would understand how exciting this is. I am glad that it was so drawn out because when it finally happened it was beautiful. Can't wait to read the next one! (Gen is ready to kick some demon ass)

Book 2 in the Vessel trilogy is wrapped in unpredictability. Though an HEA is expected, the road traveled in this installment is anything but predictable. Sealed in Sin picks up shortly after events in Forged in Fire cemented Genevieve as the most powerful Vessel of Light , the being of which a prophecy foretells will be the most powerful factor in the imminent battle of Dark and Light. Unfortunately, Genevieve blunders and in her naiveté' makes a series of poor decisions that compound and culminate into the worst choice EVER in regards to her safety and Jude's trust. The novel begins and my beloved Jude is MIA for the first 40 pages or so and his absence left me a little bereft and wanting. Especially when a new usurper suitor begins to make himself known to Genevieve- the angel Thomas. Pardon me. The insanely-yummy-dripping-with-sensuality-and power- self proclaimed-Guardian Angel, Thomas.

"I glared at the stranger and tried to catch my breath...he stood nearly as tall as Jude, similar in build but leaner. Black hair hung in staggered waves halfway to his shoulders. he regarded me with startling eyes- deep cobalt blue, the color of a glacier buried and untouched for centuries. Like white marble, his jaw, face and neck were sculpted in perfect, harmonious lines. His captivating signature circled me like a wintry halo.

Jude - get your ass in gear and into this story ASAP! This heavenly body is super shady and his aura screams ulterior motives for our girl Gen!

While the plot moved forward full steam ahead and we uncovered important layers to the Demon Prince's unusual alliance, Sealed in Sin was definitely a loaded book, focusing on character development and some flashbacks where we not only see the truth in Jude's making, but more painful character truths are revealed. While Jude is hunting the prophecy they believe will aid them in their fight, Thomas insinuates himself into Gen's life, saving her and endearing her to him. Thomas is dangerously seductive, building her trust in him by offering her the one thing that Jude can not give her to make her feel safer and more in control of her destiny. Gen (like a fool!) hides Thomas' arrival and influence in her life from Jude and the scene where her betrayal is uncovered is heart breaking. Let's just say you definitely pick a side, and the person who you side with's name certainly does not rhyme with Beneieve. *Grumbles* she' such a fool!

Poor Jude....Will he ever get to keep his girl without all of demon and now angelic kind trying to stick their grubby little tongues down her throat!? Jude was so patient and protective in book 1, I can not stand for this Thomas-the-usurper- to cock block him!

Cross continues to add to her rich character development by introducing a bevy of enforcer demon masters/hunters who are so enigmatic that their brief appearance begs more story to be told, so much so that I can not suffer the series stalling as a Trilogy. This world is too rich to end now! Yep. It's that interesting, sensual and unique. Even the dastardly Demon Princes wink as if they too have a story to tell. Spoiler alert: They do!

The tone of the book pulsed with warning and cautionary vibes. Genevieve's deceit, though free of malice, shows just how vulnerable she was to manipulation, despite her rapidly growing power. Unfortunately, just when you think she gets it, it's too late because the last unscrupulous trap she falls for, costs her the one thing she vowed to have and to hold, and to cherish for eternity.

Annnnnnd then she snaps out of it. Genevieve rises from the ashes to become who I predict will be an amazing sight to behold in book three, Bound in Black, due out this summer. She has matured and is now a woman grown, a formidable heroine, hell-bent on salvaging her love, restoring life that is believed to be lost and defeating Hell's demons once and for all!

Action packed, fast paced and steamy, I recommend to any paranormal romance enthusiast. Sealed in Sin can stand alone, however, you won't want it to. Like Pringles...you can't just have one...feast upon this cracky goodness!

1.5 majorly annoyed stars

I still like the ideas and side characters and adore Jude, but Gen!? She was fucking annoying, I disliked her even more than Feyre. I mean Feyre is a decent heroine compared to Gen. But Gen was stupid as fuck and don't get me started on the cheating. And I don't mean kissing another guy, no I mean nipple sucking and fondling of her wet intimate parts. Oh yes, happened and I hated Gen for it. Nothing excuses her behaviour. So yeah, I hated the Thomas plot twist, which also underlined Gen's infinite amount of stupidity, so it seems. And her way of proving her love? A proposal? Are you fucking kidding me? The only thing that showed was how much they wanted to have sex, nothing more! And Gen is always angry at Jude, lying or hiding, sorry I don't see that she loves him and he deserves better! Why her? She is freaking annoying and stupid!!! 😤

Still I will read book 3, because this one ended with a cliffhanger and I want more Jude. Sadly my hope that Gen will be replaced with a deserving heroine will be for naught 😥

So, this review will be easy. I loved the first in Juliette's Vessel Trilogy, Forged in Fire, but I freakin' ADORED Sealed in Sin. Perhaps because there's...well...delicious sinning involved. Okay, yes, that was my favorite part, because Juliette does a fan freakin' tastic job with intimate scenes. As with her world creation and snappy dialogue, her sexy times are incredibly rich. So much so I actually snapped at the hubby when he tried to interrupt me in the middle of one. :)

Seriously, I loved this book even more than I did the first and I'm diving into book three, Bound in Black, as soon as I can get my hands on it. Reading this series has been an absolute delight. The perfect escape from reality given by an author who has a serious gift for crafting stories with depth and emotion.

If book one was all about world-building and explanations, book two was all the fun stuff! Interesting secrets, new allies, and the intimate moments were so worth waiting for! That ending though...argh!! Talk about frustration!

SPOILERS

Little bit of a let down.

I don't feel like writing a super long review so here it is short (kinda) and sweet (not really).

(Major Spoilers below!)

Here's my reasons.

First, this book is similar to book one in that it is slowwwwww. It takes until towards the end to even get to the interesting stuff.

Second, Gen's badass-ness has yet to be seen. She is weak and has to constantly be saved. Damsel in distress anyone?

Third, Gen EASILY cheats on Jude with her Guardian angel Thomas, and on top of it keeps Thomas's identity secret. (At this point I HATED Gen) She becomes a liar and a cheat.

Fourth, Gen marries Jude after SHE proposes to him (to show him she really loves him and not Thomas) and totally gets out of having to grovel or deal with the consequences of her actions. She said she loved Jude but NEVER ONCE showed it. Her half ass marriage proposal didn't mean shit. I wanted Jude to throat punch her into next week.

Fifth, EVEN AFTER CHEATING WITH THOMAS AND THOMAS SHOWING HER HE DOESN'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT HER STAYING "PURE" AND THOMAS BEING SHADY, THEN MARRING JUDE TO SHOW SHE TRULY LOVED HIM, SHE STILL TRUSTS THOMAS AT THE END AND HAS INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS ABOUT HIM WHICH LEADS TO JUDES DEATH.

I didn't love Thomas, not in the way he wanted, but I also couldn't suppress the basic attraction I felt when he stood close to me, when he touched me. -Gen right before Thomas schemes to have Jude killed.

I considered. Going to the underworld without Jude or Kat was dangerous, and perhaps stupid. Still, I'd have Thomas with me. Yes Gen, lets trust the man who is powerful and bitter and heartbroken who didn't care about your very soul enough to keep you pure and who has repeatedly showed his distaste and hate for YOUR HUSBAND.

Sixth, Gen is a stupid weak spineless shitty wife who doesn't deserve Jude or to be The Vessel.

Okay rant over.

Overall the book is written well and once it picked up I did start enjoying it, but Gen ruined it for me. She is just too wishy-washy and doesn't understand loyalty and devotion at all. She acted like a hormone crazed teenager half the time. I'm still gonna read book three though because I need to know what happens next! Especially since this one ended on a cliffy!

Loved it! Definitely no second book syndrome here. There was plenty happening and quite a few unexpected revelations. I loved Gen and Jude's relationship, and would like to see more of Kat and George. I find Thomas intriguing and mysterious, and I look forward to finding out more about him in the next book.

wow, although a little bit predictable, this was even better than the first book. I now will start the final book and hope to get a fantastic conclusion with a great showdown.
