Another great read

I like this author's writing style and the pace of the novel. She includes enough details to hold one's interest, but not pad the length. I hope we will be able to read more about the investigations of Jack Martin -- Santa Fe, perhaps?

Very predictable. Too many red herring. Not great.

Great Twists and Turns!

The Killing Storm is Shannon Work’s best yet. The characters are clever and the backdrop of Telluride is perfect for another murder.

It may be a cozy mystery, but in the dead of winter, you’ll need a heavy blanket in front of a fire. You will enjoy this page turner.

Can’t wait for Book 4!

Jack is called to Alice Fremont's house for a potential job. Alice is a famous author who makes people mad with her books. She had an attempted break-in and wants to hire Jack to stay with her and act as a bodyguard. A blizzard rolls in after Jack leaves Alice's house. Alice disappears that night, and her housekeeper calls Jack and asks him for help shortly after she discovers Alice is no longer in her home.

These are some of my favorite mysteries. The characters are believable, and the plot slowly unravels during the telling. The suspects are laid out but the killer isn't revealed until the end. I enjoy the fact that I am never sure of the killer until he or she is revealed. So far, this has been true of all of Ms. Work's books that I have read.

I found this book to be the most compelling in the series so far—more engaging than the first two. The mystery is well-crafted, with a heightened sense of suspense and a series of unexpected twists that kept me guessing throughout. The author does a remarkable job of creating an atmospheric setting.

The characters are well developed, and I continue to appreciate the author’s writing style—concise yet evocative—with a well-balanced pace that never feels rushed or drawn out. There’s just the right amount of detail to sustain interest without overwhelming the narrative or slowing the story.

Overall, it’s an entertaining, cozy page-turner.

This was the 3rd book in the series. I enjoyed all three. This one was about Alice, an elderly woman, a writer, who disappeared. Jack, the detective from the other stories, comes back to try and find her.

The book has some good suspense and mystery and I didn’t really know the “whodunit” until the end. It was sort of a plot twist. It brings in Alice’s sons and wives, people in the town of Telluride, CO.

Anyway, a fun, light read that I recommend.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first two! I'm hoping detective Jack Martin finds love in his pursuit of justice. I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses as a character within the next few books. Hopefully there are more books (fingers crossed). Very good and suspenseful!

Entertaining, cozy mystery

The Killing Storm was an easy Clue-like whodunit. I've been enjoying this series, but so far this book has been my least favorite, only because it was more police focused than the first two books. I'll keep reading the series though!

Suspenseful mystery. I like the mass of suspects with almost everyone in the book being one. Again, a lot of twists and turns in this third case for Jack. He does a great job piecing it all together.

Good, not great. Felt like I was reading an episode of "Murder She Wrote." Interesting but repetitive, I was slightly bored throughout the book...wishing it had just a little but more to it.
